I bought this computer mainly for the relation price-features, de 4GB Ram and the 17 in display works perfectly for the needs I have, lots of software you're never going to use, Norton Antivirus makes this computer slow so much so I instal the AVG Antivirus, the main complain I have is that I expect that the computer is bronze color but when I receive it it was platinum color, please change the picture or especify that is another color

This laptop offers low-end multimedia as well as gaming capabilities for a very competitive price. I purchased it from Amazon 2 weeks ago and I love it. It comes with an HDMI interface and a remote control. You can hook it up to your HD TV and be able to manage your media remotely. The speakers the graphics performance are on the low end, of course you can always hook it up to external speakers and be able to enjoy the music. I would recommend it for anyone who isn't a sophisticated gamer and an average multimedia user.

I was looking for a 17" screen computer and this one fit the bill. It is easy to operate, and the 64 bit operating system is working fine. I deleted the software that came with it and loaded AVG anti virus, Spybot spyware and also Open office instead of paying for the microsoft office system supplied. I have not had any problems but one annoying thing was the automatic update feature. I suggest you change the settings to ask if you want to download the update to keep the computer from re-starting when you are in the middle of a project.
I priced this at other stores and Amazon was cheapest. Free shipping and I got the computer in 3 days!

I bought this computer for my father in law. I chose it because of the huge hard drive for a laptop(250GB), the 2.0 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core Processors, and the 17" widescreen and full keyboard (has the numbers to the right). At my house we are a Mac family, but my father in law is 75 and has only known windows so we decided to purchase a pc for him. For the price, we got an awesome computer. It has the same processors as my 20"imac, and for half the price.
The only cons I have with this laptop is that:
(a) it's a pc (we just love macs)
(b) it runs on Vista (at least it's premium edition).
Other than that, if your looking for a lot of computer for a little money, then this is it!
My father in law only uses it to surf the web, check email, and look at pictures of the family we send. So for him, it works out perfect.

After having read numerous complaints about this device going to sleep and never waking up, I made sure to immediately install it using the fairly public workaround of giving it a dedicated IP address. It has never used DHCP and it has never failed. Would it fail to wake up if I used DHCP? Probably so, but since I'm not using it that way, it's not a problem.
I'm ecstatic that the driver can be installed alone - without all of the extra overhead fluff that many consumer printers scatter around your system. When I'm not printing, there aren't 10,000 processes running in the background like there were with my old Lexmark.
So far I've only used the included inks and the photo quality, at least to an untrained eye, is much better than I would have expected from a device at this price. I don't know if the 6 ink option produces better photos than the default 4 color output right out of the box, but again, to my untrained eyes, the photo output looks great from the CMYK cartridges which

I purchased this laptop as a desktop replacement for my son who is in college. The integrated 10-key and 17" screen make this more than just a notebook. The ram and processor work beautifully, internet link up is fast and automatic. I had considered wiping Vista and replacing with XP but the performance is so good, and the Vista add-ons made me change my mind. The "speech-to-text" program works fairly well, but of course it has to be trained to your voice. The webcam, mic and speakers are awesome for young people - who needs a phone?! It has an integrated TV tuner and you can connect newer TV's directly to the unit and watch programs in full HD. Even includes a remote. I don't do gaming so cannot speak to it's capabilities there but I told my son if he doesn't like it - I'll be happy to take it! Great value for the money and should hold him for a long time.

Sometimes you do really stupid stuff. And sometimes you do it because you're never satisfied. I've always been the kind of person who was on the lookout for something better. A laptop smaller, faster than the one I have. A zoom, wider, longer, lighter than the one I have. A better iPod, better speakers, lighter, studier Nikes. Newer, better, faster Photoshop. There's always something better coming out just before Christmas. I'm looking at a Blu-ray video player. That new Tamron 18-270 is looking mighty sweet. That new MacBook, really the cat's meow that was.
As soon as I saw Steve Jobs' presentation I began to think my MacBook was getting long in the tooth. How silly I was. I didn't know that then, I know it now. I mean this beautiful machine had a 320 gig hard drive, 4 gigs of ram, a gorgeous matte screen you could look at and love forever, connected right up to my really, really gorgeous 23 inch Apple Cinema display. It ran Photoshop at almost the speed of light. Lightroom too, it blazed

Background:
I wanted to buy the new unibody MacBook Pro.
Tried it at the Apple store and here are my findings and opinions,
and comparisons with the March 2008 model (MB134LL/A - the one I bought and am reviewing).
Display on unibody model is super glossy and very reflective - and has no option for matte finish.
Keyboard on unibody model did not feel as nice as the March 2008 model.
Unibody model is slightly larger - bezel width is more than the March 2008 Model.
Also, the March 2008 model is a lot cheaper (about $700),
and there is an additional $150 rebate from Amazon.
Meaningful specs difference:
2.5 GHz versus 2.53 GHz CPU in the new high end one,
2 Gigs of RAM versus 4 Gigs of faster RAM in the new high end (I upgraded to 4GB myself for $60),
8600M GT 512MB versus 9600M GT 512MB in the new high end (20-30% faster),
250GB 5400RPM versus 320GB 5400RPM in the new one (more on this below),
The new one also has dual graphics (use the lower power one for more battery),

This is a great laptop. Runs most games just fine at medium to high settings. Pick this laptop up at bestbuy for $899. That is a steal for what you get.

The purchase of the case logic notebook sleeve was worth every penny. This product is durable, water resistant, and works really well. I would definitely recommend it.

This is an exceptional laptop though it does run hot on your lap so I got a laptop cooler just so it lifts it off my lap with circulation underneath and it keeps it cool enough so it doesn't shut down without using the usb fan which is great because I don't want to be listening to a usb fan when I'm working.
The first laptop I purchased at costco would crash when it got too hot because I had it directly on my lap without much circulation.
The laptop I have now with the cooler doesn't ever crash.
Another benefit that hasn't been mentioned is that there is room for 2 hard drives in the chassis. I put in another 250 gb laptop which is great since I am an avid photographer.
Vista handles smoothly with 3gb of ram yet it runs faster with 4 which I put in.
It handles photo editing programs with ease and it turns out that I was a Vista resistor but now I love it!
In total I spent $649.00 on the laptop after rebate and the only thing I am not completely satisfied with is the sound when playing

Ok I would like to keep reviews short because most people will not read more than 1/2 of a pages.
1. Portability - 5.4 lbs. Coming from a guy that had a 2.7 lbs laptop, this is not much of a burden.
2. Power - 2.5Ghz Peryn 45nm 6MB caches. O did I mentioned that it is FAST? (Window & Mac).
Boot up time:
Mac: 35 seconds w/ bloated software.
Windows XP: 1:45 seconds w/ bloated software.
3. Graphics - 8600M GT 512MB GDDR3. I game on window and everything runs immaculately with medium settings on new games and max settings on older ones.
4. Battery life: I haven't needed to plug in the power supply when I am out on a day's work. ~4.5 Hours w/ normal use.
5. Software: Mac OSX is the way to go! Plus I get Xcode developer kit for free! Good for programmers.
6. LED Backlit LCD: Excellent. Can't say it is much improvement because my old laptop was also LED. Also 15.4 inches is refreshing. I use to have a 11.1 inches laptop and that was really arduous on my eyes at times.

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion 17" laptop. This bag is nearly perfect. The right size to carry the laptop, mouse, earbud headphones, power cord, 2 textbooks, 1 spiral notebook and a cellphone. Padded handle and solid construction are great because when loaded down, it's fairly heavy. The only drawback I see is that the clamshell design would have been a bit more practical if you had a way to attach, (perhaps with elastic bands),the lid portion of the bag to the display portion of the computer . As it is, when you use the computer while still in the bag, the lid has to lay flat out, taking up space behind the computer or flopping down if you are trying to use it while on your lap. It is a bit akward, but not a deal breaker.

I purchased this case on Ocober 10, 2008. I received it on October 14,2008. The case is sturdy and great. Just what I was looking for. Lots of compartments and holds my 17 inch laptop with plenty of extra room. This was the first time shopping on overstock.com and I had a great experience. Would not hesitate to purchase other products as well. Thanks!!!

This is an excellent buy for the money and purpose of our home computer. There are no internal speakers so be prepared to buy those separately, but we got the Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers for around $12 and they work great for our use. Have always had good experiences with Acer brands.

I was hesitant to buy this because of the mixed reviews, but I am happy with it overall. I wanted a laptop backpack that fit only a few select things that I need everyday. I tend to fill my bag up with misc things and it gets heavier and heavier. Then when I clean it out I wonder why I've been carrying all this junk around. I am 5'6" with a small frame and it fits me comfortably (it's a medium). At first I felt like the straps sat too far apart on my shoulders, but the sternum strap solved that problem - it's very comfortable to wear and walk long distances with. I have a 17" MacBookPro which JUST fits - if the bag wasn't stretchy it wouldn't zip. It's easy to zip now that it's broken in, but at first it was a little difficult. I can also fit a few folders and paper in with the laptop. I can fit the battery and power cord in the additional pocket with room to spare. The small pocket on the strap is too small to fit my phone or wallet so I've found that to be kind of useless. An iPod Nano

Arrived in just a few days after purchase. Very high quality case with excellent detail. Lots of extra room for charger, cords etc. Case looks and feels like one two or three times the price. Very very satisfied

The backpack is huge and can hold all the stuff in my original backpack with still lots of space.
Unfortunately the backpack itself looks little bit "weak" comparing with its huge space. I doubt that if I continue putting lots of stuff in this backpack, as what I am doing right now, it won't last for more than a year. So I wouldn't recommend the bag to other people.
Also, there are not many compartments within the backpack.
For overstock, the shipping is fast. thanks,

I purchased a new laptop in July and was looking for a good, sturdy case to protect it. A friend recommended this Lowepro case to me and so I picked it up
It fits my 15.4 laptop perfectly, with enough room to slide it in and out easily. There are plenty of pockets for the charging cord and optical mouse I use with the machine as well as for documents, cellphone and lots of other things.
The strap is remarkably comfortable and the handle is easy on the hands as well. Overall, this was a great product for the price and is well made, sturdy and functional. If you are needing a new case, give this one a look.
