Apple iPod touch 8 GB (1st Generation)
Pay attention to the fact they say Ist Generation, yet don't explain the implications and let you know how it compares with current product. Be aware that a brand new (as of 11-28-08) 16 gig off Apple's website is normally $299. The 32 Gig model is $399. Don't waste your money. Shame on you Amazon for not showing stronger ethics. It is not enough to just print that it is first generation in my opinion. By the way, Apple is also having a one day sale on various items including this one...

HP Mini 1000 Notebook, Intel Atom Processor N270 1.60GHz, 10.2" LED Brightview Infinity Display, 512MB DDR2 RAM, 16GB Solid State Drive, HP Mini Webcam, Wireless-G Card, Windows XP Home
I just picked up the HP Mini 1000 with 10-inch screen, 1GB of system RAM and 60GB hard drive today for a family member and it's a great notebook. Technically, it's a "netbook" because it uses the low voltage Intel Atom processor and uses a smaller screen. Basically, a "netbook" is just a compact, lightweight notebook that has a weak processor and generally a smaller hard drive and less RAM than a full notebook.

The benefit of the Mini 1000 is that it's extremely easy to take with you everywhere, and unlike most netbooks this computer actually has a reasonably large keyboard that makes it easy to type.

Although the Atom processor isn't as fast as other new dual-core processors found in full-size notebooks, the Atom has more than enough power for web browsing, working in Microsoft Office, listening to iTunes, or very basic photo editing (although I wouldn't suggest buying a netbook for Photoshop work).

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the built-in speakers on this netbook.

Canon VIXIA 3.3MP High-Definition Digital Camcorder with Flash Memory - Black
I have had quite the myriad of camera in the time I've been doing video. I started using my Kodak Z812 IS Camera, which is a great camera, but takes less than steller video - even if it is 720p. I upgraded to an Aiptek Action HD Camera that offered 1080p video along with a host of other features. While this was a definite improvement over the quality of the Kodak, it was sorely lacking in many areas. Namely, the video was extremely jerky, you couldn't zoom the camera without the sound of the zoom being recorded, and the quality was less than steller. So, with a big trip to New Orleans on the horizon and an increasing interest in video I sprung for the Canon HF 10. I read a lot of reviews before I made my purchase. For me I knew I wanted a couple features but didn't care about others. As you read below, you'll find out why I made the HF10 my choice.

But first of a summary. The HF10 is a AVCHD Digital Camcorder that records up to 1440*1080 (widescreen) @ 12 Mbps or 1920*1080 @ 17

Apple NEW! iPod nano 16GB* MP3 Player - Pink
I'm very pleased with my nano. Obviously, the colors are amazing.. the purple just blew me away. I have been meaning to get another iPod (my last one was a Shuffle I ran through the laundry.. bad idea). So, I picked one up.

After a few weeks owning it, I have to say, I was ok with it. The screen, it's beautiful. Very colorful and roomy. The interface was like any other iPod, and there wasn't much special about it. They could have made the video controls a little simpler, since you have to rotate it, but they aren't bad.

Coverflow was the most annoying part.. it would switch on when I didn't want it to. This would make it annoying to turn up the volume and would turn the screen on every time, wasting battery power. But with the most recent patch, they've added a selection to turn it off, which makes life a lot easier. Shake is cool, but pretty useless. More of a fun little gimmick in my opinion. But the motion sensor games are fun, for sure. The marble game is very addicting.

ASUS EEEPC900-BK041 Eee PC 900 8.9" Notebook - Galaxy Black
This is not a full review, just a informational post on Xubuntu 8.10 and this netbook.

I switched from the Xandros linux that the eee pc 900 came shipped with to Xubuntu 8.10 to run a USB727 modem through Verizon. It works great but I had to add another script to get wifi working on Xubuntu, as the original distribution would not recognize this computer's wifi.

I previously installed Windows XP and it was so much slower than Xandros or Xubuntu, so I reinstalled a linux platform (Xubuntu) and it works great. Even the internet and browsers work faster. What a difference! I do prefer Xubuntu/Ubuntu over Xandros.

This netbook does exactly what it's meant to do. Light, portable, nice GUI. Three USB slots which is a huge plus. And lots of free and very useful applications because of linux. The 1.3mp camera is a great addition and Skype comes in a linux version as well. You can install other platforms through the usb drive if you don't have an optical drive to plug into the usb port. Try Fedora's

ASUS Eee PC S101 Ultra Slim Netbook 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB Solid State Drive,30 GB eStorage,10.2-Inch 1024x600 (WSVGA), Windows XP Home ( Brown)
This is a review of the S101 running Windows XP. The S101 was easy to set up and operate, is reasonable quick and responsive for general web browsing, mail etc. By that I mean apps start quickly and process quickly. The included bag is well padded, seems useful, and the packaging overall is quite nice - I bought this as a present for someone so that was appreciated.

Be very cautious of doing any BIOS or other updates on it, they seem to have adverse effects and my 2c is to only do them if they resolve a problem you know you are experiencing. In my case, it works great right out of the box.

Unfortunately, I have been conditioned to keep everything fully updated and patched so I did go the update route, and was burned badly. End result - Asus support never responded to my plea for help, and there was little or no info on their forums or knowledge base about the problem I had. I eventually fixed it myself. I would give this 4 stars if their support had responded. Their manual

Asus Netbook with Intel Celeron Processor - Black
This specific model does NOT possess the wonderful Asus SSD that makes the other EEE products so quick (even though they claim it does. I confirmed this with ASUS directly).
It has a 16GB SD card soldered in place. That means it's read/write speeds are ABSURDLY slow and this thing behaves like a laptop from the dark ages.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MODEL.
Purchase one of the models with 20g (they actually have a 4GB SSD from which the operating system runs, making them WAY faster for a small price difference.), or a 901.

Belkin Leather Folio for iPod touch (Cameo Pink/Chocolate)
I've been searching the big box and electronics stores and I couldn't find one at this price. I love the pink color and I can easily place it inside my wallet for safe-keeping as an added protection. The leather case is thick so it protects my Ipod very well. My only disappointment is that my Ipod touch does not have a snug fit in the case and I have to place the polish cloth underneath so it will not slip out from the case.

Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager USB2.0 Flash Drive-16GB USB2.0 FLASH VOYAGER EXT 22MB/S READ & 5.5MB/S WRI
The Corsair thumb drives work great. I highly recommend them to anyone, the speed is decent and having 8 gigs in your pocket is very nice. I have a 16 gig also which was missing for a few months, being in the IT field having a thumb drive really makes life easier. Not even 2 weeks after i bought the 8 gig i found the 16 gig, It was in a pocket of a pair of pants that was washed and dried. All of my info was still on it. That is the 3rd time it got washed and it still works. Hopefully the 8 gig can handle a washing also =)

Apple iPod touch 32GB* MP3 Player - Black
Obviously from all these other reviews this is by far the most functional product out there, and I'm not disputing that at all, I loved my Ipod touch, but they have a ridiculously short lifespan. The kicker is that if you as much as sweat on it or expose it to rapidly changing temperatures (as is common in the upper midwest) your warranty is voided and your Ipod might not last long at all.

I just lost an Ipod touch due to moister condensation from taking it from 30 degree weather to 70 degree weather. That created enough condensation to trip the water marker inside the Ipod which voids the warranty and shorted out the screen. To top it off; that one was actually a replacement for another Ipod touch because the first one I got had a phone jack that broke within a month of normal use, and then this one had a faulty screen due to "water damage" and now Apple conveniently doesn't have to replace it anymore.

Just read some of the discussions on Apples site about Ipods and water damage, it

Canon VIXIA 3.3MP High-Definition Digital Camcorder with Flash Memory - Black
Bought both cameras to compare. Everybody seems to think that these two are the top consumer cameras to look at. I'll probably agree. Between the two cameras, I ended up choosing the hf10. Simply put, I was expecting the sr11 to perform better at 60i in low light(30-60 lux) based on online reviews. It was definity brighter with auto. However, If you turn up the exposure on the hf10 (in 60i) you could match the brightness of the sr11. Turning up the exposure on the hf10 also made the color saturation increase in low light to where the hf10 was slightly better than the sr11.

Another expectation based on reviews was for the sr11 to have less noise in the same low light range. This is partly true. What they don't tell you is the type of noise. Sure there is less noise, but it is large
chroma noise. It is easily seen on any tv or monitor from normal viewing distance. Medium to dark objects in a 17 x 17 2 story room lit with 4 100w bulbs off a ceiling fan all had very noticable

ASUS Eee PC S101 Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz Notebook - Black
I very highly recommend this netbook. It is replacing my old VAIO T-series. I had considered getting a new VAIO, but with the huge price difference, it was worth trying out this one.

I had expected it to reflect its $700 price tag by feeling and looking cheap. I was completely wrong, and the beauty of this machine is stunning. It's so skinny, and so light, and the graphite cover is perfect! The white lights that show status above the keyboard shine gorgeous. The power brick is tiny, i can hardly believe it!

XP Home works great, and only takes up some 4gb of space. There is not an overload of bloatware as you get with SONY. The battery life, even with just 4-cell, is also great! 5.5 hours with the screen darkness all the way down, and a little over 4 hours with the screen on max brightness. The computer boots and runs quickly. The power management (super hybrid engine) is also great, with its own dedicated button.

I couldn't be more satisfied with this computer. The right shift key is

Apple iPod touch 16GB Flash Portable Media Player - Audio Player, Video Player, Photo Viewer - 3.5 Color LCD - 16GB Flash Memory - Black
I have to begin with a brief disclaimer: I got the I-Phone, and I kinda regret not getting TOUCH...
Though they're very similar, the big problem arises when you realize that while this is a GREAT device, there's no doubt that before you notice it, the next generation will be out, and it'll be ALL the better... only us I-Phone users will be hunkered down with mobile phone service contracts and I worry that jumping from one to the next will require tons and tons of paper work... Additionally speaking, who in the world wants to be interrupted by phone calls when playing with a neat little gadget like this...? I'm serious... Imagine: You're listening to your favorite group, playing some video game or using some app you downloaded, and next thing you know, the lil' bugger is ringing and you have to hold it up to your face?

So all this said: If the issue is TOUCH vs. PHONE... I say: TOUCH !

As for the device itself: I'm told by people who've had it longer than me (and not THAT long

Epson Claria High-Capacity Color Ink Cartridge-CLARIA HICAP MULTICOLOR PACK F/INK R260 R380 RX580 R280 RX59
Replacing empty ink cartridges with a generic brand can result in print problems and quality, which is why I prefer to use the printer manufacturer's inks. This cartridge pack supplied looks like a great deal until you begin to load them into your printer. Got them all loaded and ready to go? Uh..... wait, there seems to be one missing from the pack, the black cartridge (the one you use probably the most of all). The reason I purchased this ink cartridge pack was because I was OUT of black ink. I thought I was getting a fresh start on my printing projects again only to realize I still had to buy black ink. Had I known this I probably would not have bought this product. I could have just purchased the back locally and not had to put my projects off until the package arrived.
So, beware of exactly what you're getting when you buy an Epson cartridge combo pack.

Sandisk SDSDRH01G16A11 Ultra II SDHC 16GB High Performance Card
I bought this card for my Nikon D90 before a week-long vacation. I wanted a card large enough for hundreds of images as well as HD video. It certainly held hundreds (actually thousands) of high-quality images as well as HD video (I still had space for several hundred more images by the end of the trip, without ever once having to offload the images)... its read and write speed are lightning fast... it's a joy to use this SD card. Great price as well.
