I've always been a user of the Apple Ipods since they first came out. I still own 3 of them! I don't really consider those portable video players. Watching movies on such a small screen? No thanks!
I don't want this to turn into an Archos vs Ipod Touch review, but I have to point this out. I recently purchased an Ipod Touch 32gb version and could not even get myself to open the package. I ended up spending a ton on it and felt that for what I needed it just would not do the job and returned it. For MY use, 32gb is not enough. I understand it's expensive, because it's a flash drive and made by Apple. It's also really cool, so i'm supposed to pay more for that I guess. I know that sounds dumb, but yes, the Ipod Touch IS pretty cool.
Picked up the Archos and plugged it into my Computer. No drivers to install AT ALL! Took me hours to get my music and video collection organized with Windows Media Player, but that's my own problem. It turns out that you don't even need to use Media Player to

I had this for a couple of months and it seemed to be working fine. Then, for some reason, it stopped being a USB2 device. It reverted to 1.1. That means that copying got *SLOW*! My USB ports are all definitely 2.0, and I have all the latest drivers. Other USB2 devices - thumb drives, external HD's and DVD's, etc - all run at USB2 speeds on the same ports. But, whenever I inserted this drive, I got "This device will run faster if you use a high-speed port ...". I tried three separate computers, and got the same result on all of them. I tried ports on the motherboard and on a PCI card. No change.
Tech support was no help. They suggested that I did not have the right drivers, or that the ports were not really 2.0. But I tried other devices, and they worked fine as 2.0. I tried the drive on multiple computers, and it just did not get seen as 2.0.
So, I returned it. Shame. Seems like a nice design, and including the forked cable is a nice touch. If other folks' drives are working,

I love the Archos product line and have had various units over the last 6 years or so. I love them immensely----until they break. You are then in customer service / product support HELL!!! Archos has the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
Beware. The 605 has a proprietary battery which can only be replaced by Archos. They do not tell you that if your product does manage to last for 3 years or more, you will have NO product support, including replacment of their proprietary batteries. I have this issue with an older model AV480 unit. That is insane. Why make batteries that are not removeable if you will only support them for a few years. If I had known this, I would have purchased backups!
Also, I encountered the same hard drive issue as another user on the AV480 series and went through 3 units and loss of files before they finally admitted that they had a hard drive defect on many units they shipped.
The bottom line is that I love the Archos product line for

This is my first review of a consumer product and unfortunately it has to be bad. If all worked well, a satisfied customer tends to be a quiet one. Note before you read further that I owned a 604WiFi, which is the prior generation of this model in 30GB format. The issues with the units themselves are particular to the unit, but warranty is the same and that is what this review is about, since this is an investment.
I owned a 604WiFi 30 GB unit since February 2007 with DVR station...bought on Amazon for $300 plus $100 for the DVR station. Out of the box the thing worked great. Moving music and photos to the unit was simple, the graphics were amazing, and the DVR worked well enough, though it is far from intuitive. From a day to day perspective the unit worked as intended and you feel you have a more superior product than anything similar Apple or Sony can make. Except for the slow browser, heavy weight of the unit itself, the extreme heat the hard drive generates, and the incredibly

If you don't mind paying a ridiculous price (unfortunately typical of Apple products) for an antenna quality picture running on a device that will crash approximately once a week, and runs so hot you'll want to place it high enough so the kids can't reach it; then AppleTV is the product for you!
Pros:
1. Easy WI-FI integration.
2. HDMI connection (for those of you who don't like lots of wires)
3. Integrates very well with iTunes
4. Easy to use, intuitive interface (typical of Apple products)
Cons:
1. Not nearly enough disk space for a multimedia device. For $40 more, Apple could have easily put an additional 360 GB!
2. No HDMI Cable Included
3. Runs very hot.
4. Before the first few firmware updates, this device crashed daily requiring me to manually unplug it, then plug it back in to the wall. Following the firmware updates, crashes have been reduced to only about one per week!
5. Don't be fooled by the new 'HD' content offered by Apple -- we're not exactly talking Blu-Ray quality

This Toshiba hard drive lives up to the quality image of Toshiba, plus the included NTI file backup program will not only back up my entire cpu harddrive if I choose, but it also saves individual files or folders, which is how I use it every day. I really like the "backup files as changes are made" feature, and after I designate the files and folders that I want to backup, the process is automatic and effortless. Set and forget, so to speak.

The product has been 100% satisfactory; it came speedily and worked like a charm. Nice and small, didn't overheat, easily powered via USB. Setup was really simple. Has worked well with my MacBook and Leopard so far.
I recommend contacting the seller w/Qs re this product; it certainly helped me out. I don't have much to say, but I highly recommend it.

I really like this armband alot, it is comfortable and I forget i have it on. I also really like the earbud cord coil. There is just one thing, the glue between the loops for the hook and the band comes apart pretty easily. Otherwise, I like it.

We have 2 of these units (this one and the 3575H) and we like them. The only problem we have w/ them is the inability to get rid of an empty track that is listed below any tracks you record onto a disc. For example, you record two programs onto the disc. When you finish and finalize, you have a third track listed that is empty and when clicked, nothing happens. This doesn't prevent you from doing anything or watching your other tracks but it looks unprofessional. I called Philips about it and they said they had heard of this but there wasn't any way of getting around it. Ironically, on our 3575H deck (before finalizing), we can record something on the empty track for the duration of time left on the disc and then delete that track and it gets rid of it but that requires a lot of wasted time recording (in real time) for the duration left on the disc. Our newer unit (this one) won't let us do this. ?? Otherwise, the deck has all the features one could want in a DVD recorder.

I wanted a portable bootable external HD without any external power source (not even USB) for my Powerbook G4 aluminum (Tiger) and this LaCie Little Disk 160GB FireWire 400 works perfectly.

I love the color a lot, great contrast with my black CaseLogic Small External Hard Drive Case. The product itself is really easy to use. You don't have to install any software to use the product; however, it is best to register the product right away when you get it to upgrade your warranty. the hard drive is small and easy to transport data from your computer's hard drive to this hard drive. it doesn't make a lot of noise, just a little vibration but nothing major; and the most important thing is it doesn't get hot. On the scale of 1 to 10, i give it a 9.5.

I'm going to give some quick points as I've only had it a few days and am still learning/playing with it. For more detailed looks at this unit, just read the reviews of it's predecessor, the Philips DVDR3575H/37 1080p Upscaling DVDR with Built-In Tuner
Despite some misinformation, it does not have an HD tuner (from research, it appears no hard drive/DVDR machines do). It has a standard definition tuner, but due to a bit of trickery it downconverts HD signals to record etc in SD, but when it plays them back it upconverts the signal to something approaching HD (Not true HD, but getting close!). Pre-recorded DVDs that are upconverted look pretty darn good!
Got this unit hooked to a Sharp Aquos LC20D42U 20-inch LCD HDTV. I have DVRs in the house for comparison, but in my kitchen I have only a simple cable feed (Comcast). It's worth noting that on my Sharp HDTV I get 22 digital (video) channels, but through this Philips DVDR tuner I get 41-darn near twice the channels I get on my Sharp TV!

I've used some of the 'designer' LaCie hard drives for a few years. Hard drives are so cheap these days, the only thing really separating them is the design of the case, so why not get one that looks good on your desk? I bought this hard drive so my wife can make backup clones of her black Macbook. The retractable USB cable is fantastic, the drive is bus-powered so you don't have to ever hunt for any cables. Performance is what you'd expect from a drive of these specs, so we're very satisfied with the purchase.

Like all USB-powered hard drives, this one comes with a caveat that some old computers do not provide enough power; Toshiba offers a special cable that draws power from 2 USB ports, and their web site even has a special form to ask for this cable. My old computer (also a Toshiba) requires this cable, so I filled out the form but got no response. Two weeks later I tried calling but couldn't get through, so I filled the form again, asking explicitly when I would get the cable. This time they responded promptly as follows:
Hello,
Unfortunately, We do not have this cable available on stock and we do not
have a date when the cable will arrive.
Toshiba Technical Support.
The cable was not available on Amazon either, but I found one from an ebay store for $5.02 including shipping, and received it within a few days. With the new cable, the hard drive works great; it also works with the supplied cable when connected to a computer that supplies enough power. But if you have an old computer,

I have owned almost ever version of the iPod.
This is the best protector I have bought yet.
The double protection is great.
The inner skin is your typical rubber sleeve.
The package came with both a white and black rubber sleeve.
The outer hard case is beautiful clear acrylic with a dual clip on the back.
This dual protection creates kinda of a dust-free seal on your iPod.
Your iPod will not get scratched while in this case and should be able
to handle a decent fall.
The clip is a nice "belt clip" with a twist. The inner part pops out and becomes
a stand. I use the stand a lot on airplanes. It sits nicely on the tray table.
The stand is stable.
I have sold five of these to friends. Once the hold it in their hands, they have to have one.

The very first impression is, this thing is horrible! It connects to iTunes and you tube but not my computer(MacBook Pro). After spending an hour or two on the support site I still could not get my computer to see the apple TV. I called apple care they directed me to change some settings and open ports on my router, which I tried, the first time it did not work the second it did not work the third time I tried it I got it to work intermitently and saw the apple tv for the first time in iTunes. So, I set up the sync and after 24 hours I only had about half of my stuff over on the apple tv, man this thing is slow!
So, today my roommate asks me why she can't get into her gmail account, hmm... I don't know maybe it's your computer no mine does not work either, so I look into it and a few more hours later I finally realize that one of the ports apple told me to open is causing problems with signing into secure servers including buying items on iTunes.
Long story short, the apple tv works

Just got this product 1 week ago.
2 words: Purely Amazing!
It connects immediately to whatever computer you are using, never had to use the extra USB power cable that came with it, everying is PURE plug and play!
The drive runs completely silent, and has very very small vibrations when its working.
It also doesn't heat up, even in the carrying case which i use that used to belong to a logitech portable number pad.
Secondly, the drive is very stable, when its running or transferring something i picked it up, dropped it onto carpet floor, and shook it viciously, without it even noticing, (no rattle or movement inside whatsoever)
i hereby recommend this product to anyone who needs a fast and powerful and stable harddrive!!!

I have three of these drives, and I am very happy with them all. They are a nice size and sit in a little stack on my desk ready to go when I need one. Firewire is the way to go when moving large files. USB is just to slow.
I bought this one to back up my MacBook, because I wanted something this small with its capacity, and I was happy with the other two smaller drives I already owned. I back up incrementally (I don't put all my "eggs in one basket"), so these drives are great for that. My 120 GB one is devoted to storing my iTunes libraries (too unwieldy for my desk top computer), and my 80 GB one is for my pictures libraries and transferring files between my computers. Very handy, and they have been working great. I have backups of my backups on two larger, desktop external drives, but these little guys are the day-to-day workhorses and they have been working without a hitch for several months now.

Disclaimer: I am a huge (but no longer kool-aid-drinking) Apple fan.
It's good enough, and the rest of the reviews here attest to that, but now having my own, I have to touch on a couple of things that nobody has mentioned yet.
1) There is no way to shut it off. It sucks 18-22 watts down at all times. 22 watts when playing a movie, 18 watts in "hibernate" mode (which is obviously not the laptop-style hibernate mode one would think... I think it merely turns off the video output). You literally have to unplug it to get it to stop. There is no "shutdown" option or power switch. This I find a little ridiculous. Especially because they bothered to put in a neat startup movie- Did they expect you to watch it only once?
2) It runs very hot (no fan), even when it is "hibernated", and thus cannot be covered by anything or you will affect heat dissipation.
3) It is laggy sometimes. The worst offense an interface can have is to be laggy. If it's busy syncing, fine... just prioritize the user interface,

UPDATE:
I love Apple products and I think they do a great job. However they have lost points on the Apple TV... $300+ for a piece of garbage. There is a problem with these devices when connected via Wireless N and HDMI....they FREEZE - I had to power cycle my unit atleast once a day during the week and once an hour over the weekend when it was used most.
I am RETURNING IT!!!!
Do your self a favor...save up and buy a Mac Mini to replace this.
Another item you dont want from apple is the overpriced 1tb Time Capsule...it is slow as molasis...sorry...had to throw this in.
------------------------------------------------------
We have recently converted this family to everything apple...computers, router, etc. The results are fantastic due to the ease of use and build quality you can expect from a company like Apple.
The last item on the list was the Apple TV.... I got one and was up and running in about 5 minutes with an hdmi cable to my receiver. GREAT...
I paired it with my itunes
