This is my third Toshiba laptop in 6 years. I love to trade up. My first Toshiba laptop is still in use! This one is fantastic! FOUR gig of RAM was a big plus, along with the webcam and the neat USB SLEEP and CHARGE port for charging Ipods etc if the computer is plugged in but turned off.
The screen is sharp and clear with no glare. The keyboard is very comfortable and I love the smooth-surface touchpad...no room for grit and grime to settle in the edges. The battery life seems to be three hours plus! The only negative is getting rid of all the free/trial software.
This is a wonderful computer. I was able to get it for $649 (with $200 mail-in rebate). Family and friends have had DELL and Gateway, but my Toshiba's have always been outstanding.

I researched before I purchased these mp3 players and can't say enough about the Clip. After begging for (and getting) iPod Shuffles, my girls gave them up when they tried these. They are slightly larger than a Shuffle, but still very small. The sound is terrific and the other features such as FM radio, the ability to record from the radio, a viewing screen and great price beat the other brands hands down. The colors are very appealing, too. This Clip was refurbished, but the only thing that didn't appear new was the packaging. The Clip package comes with earphones, a short usb data cable that doubles as a charger and a cd. It is easy to use and you can view the Clip's contents on your computer. One nice feature is that when you add music, you don't lose what is already on the Clip if you have removed the previous music from your computer. It also has a regular mini 5-pin connection, so you can easily find accessories such as chargers/additional usb data cables. I have purchased several

There are so many choices for this type product it was hard to narrow down, but the combination of price and quality made this a "great Value". This was purchased for my college student daughter to carry her laptop, and notebook for school. We liked the size, and how well her Compac laptop fit, while still not being too big to handle. I highly recommend this lightwieght case to carry and protect your laptop. The great price is a bonus!

I really liked the style of this laptop. That was what made me interested right off the bat. I liked how Toshiba fused the black and gray together.
The second thing that sealed the deal for me was the 4 gigs of ram that comes in this laptop. I was also very happy to see a 320 gig hard drive, too.
The sound quality of this laptop is very outstanding compared to most laptops. You can turn up what ever it is you're listening to at a comfortable level and not have your speakers crack.
The built in web cam is a nice feature, also.
Overall, I would recommend this laptop to any college student.

I purchased this unit for my son who is entering his freshman year of high school. I have an HP unit for work that has been very reliable so thought I would give this a shot for him. He is very happy with it, works great for surfing and watching videos. We have not tried the Blue Ray player yet, but assume it will be nice. Having the 3 GB of Ram appears pretty crucial as I recently was upgraded (?) to Vista at work and my machine, which does not have that much Ram, runs pretty slow on it, but his works much quicker. Only drawback might be the wieght of this unit. It has an amazing battery life, but it comes at a heavy price, pun intended, the thing weighs a lot comparatively, but all in all, well worth the money and was very easy to fire up and start working on it right away.

I've had this for 3 weeks and am now returning it.
Pros: Sleek, fast, screen looks great. For me the ideal size as a desktop replacement and providing portability around my apartment (too big to take it everywhere all the time).
Cons: This was the kicker. The volume control does not work. I tried numerous calls to customer service, did about 6 different patches (new driver installation, then uninstall quicklaunch then reinstall, restore point, recovery). It worked, then problem resurfaced 2 weeks later. Big issue is the volume adjustment pops up in a big black box in the middle of your screen every 5 or 20 seconds, making it impossible to enjoy surfing the internet. It'll disappear (the problem), then whenever I play a mpeg or video file, the volume clicking noise and icon box will constantly reappear. I'm going to avoid the dv5 series entirely. When i googled 'pavillion dv5 and volume bug' i noticed a lot of other people have the same complaint. Otherwise a great laptop - just google

It's a strong name with a big reputation. I chose to buy a Sony laptop because everything I have ever owned with "Sony" written on it has been solid. This laptop computer is no different. It was easy to setup, connected to my network seamlessley and is a real joy to use everyday. With the exception of having to muddle through the transition to using Windows Vista and especally it's out of the box quirks... which I am over now. I can report that I am now among the those with portability and can slide into the red velvet half booth at starbucks to sip and surf with the other hip urbanites.

I bought essentially this model mainly to use as a PVR (to record/play TV/videos/media).
Note the CPU is the older AMD Athlon, you can get this laptop with the newer Tiburon. The surface is glossy, a finger print magnet. The screen is also glossy, and the reflections may be an issue for some. Weight wise, not light, but a typical "midsize" laptop. The lid has no clasp, it just folds shut.
More unique features are an eSATA port for fast external hardrive connections, and HDMI out. ExpressCard and media card reader ports are present. Ports are on either side of the computer, with few in the back or front of the device.
Start-up is about 30 seconds. The main issue with this notebook is the low battery life. 2 hours is quoted in reviews and this is what I have experienced. If you plan not to be plugged in for much of the day, you should buy the larger, 12 cell, battery.
Software is the typical Vista/PC mixture. There's not much "bloatware". HP includes it's "Quickplay" media program,

I presently also own a MacBook Pro with Leapord that is very easy to use. However , this new notebook Sony VAIO NR260E/W Laptop has Windows Vista and It just started clicking to whatever window it wanted to go to. I have to look into it more, but I do not like a machine that does its own thing.

This is not a review of this specific model but of Compaq service. I purchased a Presario F762NR four months ago. The screen has now failed. I returned it to Compaq for repair and they refuse to honor the warranty unless I buy an additional warranty. The cost to replace the screen is $2 less than what I paid for the laptop. I have owned many Compaq products in the past and currently have 4 in the house. Compaq service used to be excellent; things have changed. I will no longer purchase any Compaq product and recommend that you consider the risks involved.

I'm very satisfied with the appearance and features of this bag. It is roomy and well-padded. Both the strap and handle are convenient. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great Vista gaming laptop. It is a gaming laptop and probably a bit of overkill for regular people. Ill be reviewing this as a gaming laptop and not as a word processor/email machine.
Pros-
I am playing Warhammer Online Beta and with all of the settings turned up to max I get around 55-70fps. I hear they will be allowing even higher settings soon so this may not be possible at release, for now it is beautiful. Example; the armor has a gleam to it and looks so much better than WoW, and you can see character shaped shadows on the ground that move with the sun. Stunning really.
The OLED display is nice to view email as you are playing in full screen mode. There is a decent vent on the left side that 2nds as a coffee warmer/ popcorn popper during game play. Right above it is a 15 pin VGA connector (who uses this any more??). There is a panel lust right of the OLED that allows for quick start-up of programs and even an instant boot option if you just want to surf the web, play

I was pleased to find this case online. It saved me the time and trouble of searching for this at a department store. We had bought our son a laptop to use at college. And the case was a perfect birthday gift (just before school began). It arrived quickly through the mail and was the right size. Time will tell as to its durability. Overall it was a good value for the cost.

Had this laptop for over a month at the time of this review. I am 96% satisfied with it.
It has a great number of features which are even unmatched by the more expensive notebooks.
That is, 4GB of fast DDR2/800 Ram memory, (currently among the largest RAM configurations sold); 320 GB 5400 WD hard drive (again, among the largest offered).
The laptop also has some other latest high-tech gadgets, namely an HDMI output and an e-sata port, which would allow connection of external hard drives without the loss of download rates.
It has a total of 4 USB ports one of which is combined with e-sata.
I am not a big fan of infiniti screen as it looks a bit greyish to me, but the colors are satisfactory when looking at the screen straight ahead. I had s year old HP DV4000 that had a better screen. The resolution is standard though 1280x800. Check notebookreview.com for more information. Some people like the screen.
Despite some arrogant criticism, I am very satisfied with Nvidia 9200m-gs. It

This laptop is stunning to look at, with a state-of-the-art look and feel. The monitor is fantastic. I use mine 98% of the time at home--which is good, because it is heavy. if you travel a lot, I recommend a smaller and lighter laptop for that reason.

I don't know how this laptop can be reviewed poorly. For one thing it is amazing on paper with 4 gigs ram and 320 gigs storage, and it really delivers on speed and performance. The battery life isn't the best, but at school or starbucks there should be outlets anyways. It is also a very nice looking laptop with all the best features. It has a very nice media center with attractive, backlit, touch sensitive buttons at the top. This even has a remote with convenient storage inside the laptop. It also works very well in terms of range and registering all clicks. When watching movies or listening to music the speakers sound very impressive for a laptop because it's altec lansing. I don't even need to hook it up to my standalone speakers. The keyboard isn't the best I've seen but it has a nice firmness to it and does what it should. Also it's nice how the ctrl key is in the corner and fn is moved to the right because that is what I'm used to from desktop keyboards. One of my only complaints
