Apple MacBook with 13.3" Display - White
We bought this MacBook to replace a Gateway tablet PC that was plagued with the usual PC problems and never lived up to the hype over Microsoft's Windows Tablet PC Edition. It was just another bloated Windows version. While Microsoft has been developing more bloat-ware (Vista), Apple has been busy building outstanding hardware and an operating system (Leopard) that is as close to rock-solid as you can get. And now that it's possible to run Windows programs on the Mac (for the few programs you might want to use that aren't available in a Mac version), there's no reason not to dump the PC and switch to a Mac. (Windows programs run faster on a Mac than on their native platform, anyway.) We're happy we switched; this little laptop is gorgeous, fast, and the battery life is better than any PC laptop we've owned. Get one--you won't be sorry.

Apple MacBook with 13.3" Display - White
Guys,

Definitively this is the best computer that I've had. Very nice, excellent operating system, 5.30Hours battery life and good performance with his 64bit Leopard.

I recommend this product.

Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop (1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB Solid-State Drive)
Its actually better than the best laptop ever. This is one of the greatest pieces of electronics ever created.
Wish there was more hard drive memory, but if you store files online you dont really need all that much hard drive space.
I also wish the battery life was better.
But other than those two things its a must have.

Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop (1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB Solid-State Drive)
I cannot begin to describe how much I love this laptop! I won't provide a technical review as I am sure other reviewers are much more competent to do so. I purchased this laptop for work and graduate school as soon as they came out. I first switched to Apple about 3 years ago, and since that time I have owned a PowerBook G4 12" which I traded up for the MacBook Pro 15" and decided it was too big (can you tell I want something small?). So, when the MacBook Air came out, I gave my husband my Pro and purchased this. I couldn't be more satisfied with it. It is fast, well-constructed and lightweight with a beautiful, clear screen, all of which are essentials for my computer happiness! The touchpad is awesome...I find myself wishing that my iMac mouse had a similar feature. I do not find the lack of an optical drive problematic; I purchased the $99 external drive and, as I said, also have an iMac, so program installation, CD uploading, etc., is not a problem for me. The external drive

Sony VAIO SZ Series 2.4GHz Laptop Computer-VAIO SZ760N/C T8300 2.4G 2GB SYST250GB DVDRW 13.3-WXGA XB
I have had this laptop for a month, and these are my experiences: Upon opening, I attempted to use the included XP Downgrade disc, but it was faulty (apparently not an uncommon problem). While support sent me another disc, I used Vista and decided it was okay but not good enough. When the replacement XP downgrade disc arrived, it worked. The webcam didn't work though. Many frustrating calls and chat sessions (Sony chat support is better than phone support), they said I needed a fresh install. So I installed XP Downgrade again, and it still didn't work. As it turns out, several drivers were not working with a fresh install and they had to be downloaded from Sony. After that, the webcam works, though the framerate is not as high as on Vista (15fps on XP). XP is quite a bit faster than Vista on this computer (not surprising).

The antenna attached to the notebook is cheap and flimsy. In the hustle of the airport, I put the laptop back in my bag, and the antenna got caught on the side of my

Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop (1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB Solid-State Drive)
I purchased the this laptop because I wanted a super-portable computer with full functionality. I used to leave my old laptop at home because I didn't want to carry its 6 pounds around with me all day just because I *might* use it. Now I take the MBA with me everywhere and work when and where I want. (I'm a graduate student and I walk a lot.) I'm super impressed with the intuitive interface and the overall beauty of the machine - but note this is my first apple. I am not concerned with what some people say are the limitations of this machine because I use it mainly for writing, reading documents and the internet. The processing speed and HD space are very satisfactory for my needs.

Note: I applied the Zagg invisible shield to the top and bottom of the laptop, because the aluminum is quite sensitive to scratches.

Sony VAIO SZ Series 2.4GHz Laptop Computer-VAIO SZ760N/C T8300 2.4G 2GB SYST250GB DVDRW 13.3-WXGA XB
I bought this laptop 3 months ago. I have used at least 7 laptops from different brands. However, it is the first time I bought Sony laptop. The laptop itself is good, but Sony's service is extremely poor. I had my screen broken under warranty. I have no idea how come my screen broken. They didn't tell me they want to charge me first. After two weeks, they told me I will be charged $699. I have never met this sort of poor service. At least Apple and Fujitsu are by far better than Sony.
I have many research projects on my laptops. I have to wait 2 weeks, and then they just simply told me I have to be charged $699.
At that price, I can buy a totally new laptop. Not to mention that I can buy a totally new screen by $199.99 and replace it by myself.
I would recommend buyers before buying it, just think of it twice. Next time, if I wanna buy a laptop, service will be my first option, rather than performance, appearance, and brand.

Toshiba Fusion Satellite U405-S2830 13.3" Widescreen Laptop
I have had mine about two weeks, and am impressed. I owned a Toshiba before this one, so I like the brand and return to it.

First of all thank you Toshiba for still including an actual DVD recovery disk. Most computers expect the consumer to make their own. The fit and finish on my unit are perfect. Very solid feel with stylish looks. The screen is beautiful. It is bright and clear and mine has no dead pixels. Keyboard seems great to me, though some express concerns, mine seems very solid and responds perfect. I had never used a fingerprint reader before, but am a believer now. It works great, and helps with security.

It does not come with Vista Home, but rather Vista Business (with Service Pack 1). That is not a problem with me, but perhaps would be an issue for some. I quickly got rid of the bloatware, disabled the useless Vista services and themes, and have a very fast and stable system. Vista Business enables you to make a complete backup of your system, a great and useful feature.

Sony VAIO SZ Series 2.4GHz Laptop Computer-VAIO SZ760N/C T8300 2.4G 2GB SYST250GB DVDRW 13.3-WXGA XB
Over the last 25 years I have owned a lot of computers this one has to be the worse. Delivered with a cracked screen a number of functions have failed. Currently the audio and wireless network cards do not work. If you insist on buying a Sony, buy two and get the extended warranty. That way you always have a working computer.

Sony VAIO SZ Series 2.4GHz Laptop Computer-VAIO SZ760N/C T8300 2.4G 2GB SYST250GB DVDRW 13.3-WXGA XB
What can I say, it's a Vaio and that is all that needs to be said. The hardware is excellent, runs like a race horse and feels great. I bought from Amazon instead of direct from Sony because Sony took too long and was a headache on payment. The only problem is the Operating System, Vista. The Vista OS is installed and no CD is provided. You have to make your own restore CD which there is no written instructions. And the Vista OS is terrible all round. I will put Linux on this puppy, only problem is wireless under Linux does not discover well.

Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop (1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB Solid-State Drive)
I have been a user of Apple for over 18 months having lost my cool with the endless crashes and poor launch of Vista proving to me Gates & Co were losing it. I started with the Mini Mac, buying a Mac Book and an i Mac in a short period afterwards and I cannot get my kids off them now at home!

All that kept me going with a Windows system was I needed an ultra-portable laptop given my travel by air a lot and the Sony Vaio I had was fine for this purpose. With the launch of the Air I at last had the missing piece.

After 6 weeks using with the 1.8 Ghz upgrade, I am very satisfied and suspect I will never be going back to Windows based laptops. I do not propose to repeat others comments on its features but would comment on a few aspects that any buyer should consider:

1. The item as with all Apple models is beautifully designed. Be prepared to invest in a safety sleeve for travel and avoid scratching the aluminum cover - I found the Huzzk range the best for the job with their "open up

Apple MacBook MB061LL/A 13.3" Notebook PC (2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, Combo Drive) White
I like the fact that I can run XP Pro on it and MAC OSX. It's thin and small, has a built in camera, light weight, and doesn't run too hot. Its also easy to upgrade. I've put 3gigs of RAM in, and 250 gig H/D (Fujitsu SATA 2.5" H/D). This is an awesome machine and I use it a lot to do imovies. Cold Eyes

Toshiba Fusion Satellite U405-S2830 13.3" Widescreen Laptop
Toshiba Satellite U405-S2830 13.3" Laptop (2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 Processor, 3 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Vista Premium)

I love this computer. It has a powerful processor and packs a lot of features. Unfortunately, the Fusion Finish is a magnet for fingerprints (looks good though).

Battery performance is OK. I get about 3 to 3.5 hours when doing regular stuff, like web, Word.... I haven't tested it with playing a DVD.

Vista is good when you apply some customizations. You can find the tweaks online...

I tried downgrading to XP, and as others have noted, the process was cumbersome. I eventually found the correct drivers using the Satellite Pro model (U400-S1001X). Unfortunately, I was never able to install the WiFi since the Intel Chipset drivers kept on crashing XP (BSOD). Had the chipset drivers been installed correctly, I would've been able to install the drivers for WiFi.

The computer had a dead pixel right in the middle of the LCD screen. I contacted Toshiba,

Case Logic SNS-13 13 inch Student Laptop Shuffle ( Black )
After putting lots of thoughts, I decided to buy the Black students Shuttle.
I think I made a right decision. My Macbook seems to be well protected that I feel comfortable bringing it anywhere. Plus this case has a pocket which I can put adaptors, usb cables, and so on.
I am aware that there are better computer case out there, but if you have a bag pack, you might as well use that and the case for protecting computer from stuff in your bag. I will give this A++!

Toshiba Fusion Satellite U405-S2830 13.3" Widescreen Laptop
A well built and compact machine for travel that does just what I need it to. Only complaints are ones you've read before: 1) the touchpad (now renamed the 'youchpad') and the case get hotter than any other laptop I've worked with in 15 years, and 2) the keyboard seems unnecessarily flimsy. But the computing power and video capabilities are better than average, all of my XP programs loaded and the externals I've plugged into USB and Firewire worked w/o problems. The overall package is excellent for the price, which is about $1K less than the U405's slightly slimmer competition. I'll carry the extra pound for the savings.

The one glitch was getting the Draft-N WiFi to work with a Belkin N-1 Wireless Router (ver. 2000). Had me baffled for a bit, but I upgraded the firmware on the router and voila - - it connected. The N card's range and speed are what I'd hoped for - - I'd held off buying the small Toshiba until they incorporated the wireless N spec.

I'm not a fan of the blazing Toshiba

Sony VAIO SZ Series 2.4GHz Laptop Computer-VAIO SZ760N/C T8300 2.4G 2GB SYST250GB DVDRW 13.3-WXGA XB
I'm not sure Amazon sent me a defected one or the Sony itself is seriously flaw designed . The fan is too noise, it starts to run as soon as the pc starts! I have dell apple, hp , they do not have this issue.
I' m not sure it is normal or abnormal , anyway it is disappointing.

Dell XPS M1330 Midnight Blue 13.3" Widescreen Ultrathin & Ultraportable Notebook. Intel Core2Duo T5550 (1.83GHz), Vista Home Premium. 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Slotload DVD+/-RW, webcam & Bluet
After reading lots of good reviews for the Dell XPS M1330 (e.g., cnet and pcmag websites among others), I purchased two of them, one for my wife, one for me. The configuration of our laptops is a bit different than the one on this page, and I urge you to custom-configure yours at dell's website rather than buying a pre-configured one (unless you're in too much of a hurry to wait an extra week to get it custom-built to your specs).

We both love the laptops. First, I'll list all the good things, then a few negatives about the laptop, then some negatives about dealing with Dell.

We both got the optional LED display (extra $150). Compared to the standard LCD display, the LED display is brighter, more energy efficient (meaning longer battery life), and makes the computer a couple tenths of an inch thinner and a couple ounces lighter. The LED display is noticeably nicer than the LCD display (which isn't bad, but is certainly not better than the average glossy laptop display). The only

Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop (1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB Solid-State Drive)
2nd generation MBA with 45nm Penryn will solve current problems such as storage, interface connector, blackout problem, while most of the beauty of it will remain the same. I need to emphasize that I LOVE MBA design. First, 80GB is so small that you will see more than 1/2 of 80GB is required by OS, VM and major applications. Performance is getting even slower due to its storage bottleneck. At least two USBs and Ethernet are must. It is sacrificing flexibility so much to reduce its size and weight but I do not feel it does not have a fair balance for regular users. I still encounter occasional blackout and freeze problem when I leave it for a few hours, which has not been solved even through Apple's technical support.
I definitely think next one will be much better and Apple knows how we feel about MBA. I believe they could respond to what we feel very soon.

Apple MacBook Air 13.3" Laptop (1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB Solid-State Drive)
I read a lot of reviews on the Web complaining about MacBook Air single USB port, lack of built-in Ethernet port, external SuperDrive, etc. as major issues... Come on! This is an ultra portable, thin and light notebook, without compromising screen and keyboard sizes, plus amazing screen and multitouch technologies... If you love breakthrough products, buy yours today! :D

Apple MacBook with 13.3" Display - White
People have written extensively about the many benefits of the MacBook so I won't go into the same details.

I will simply say that this is the best laptop I've ever used.

I really like the Mac OS. I've been a Windows user from the Get Go and wasn't terribly displeased. However, after being VERY pleased with my IPOD touch and then again, by the simplicity of the Apple TV, I decided my next computer would be a Mac.

I have not been disappointed!!

I still need to run some Windows only applications for work and I purchased fusion to allow this. Works flawlessly.

A little pricey to be sure....but Very, Very Nice.
