I traded a HP THAT I BOUGHT AND OWNED LESS THAN 24 HOURS BECAUSE IT GAVE ME A BLUE SCREEN AND SHUT DOWN 3 TIMES , FOR THE BEST LAPTOP I HAVE EVER OWNED HANDS DOWN.

I am please about the new type of LED screen, but I was disappointed when I realized it didn't have a fire wire connection. Sad to think that a older model macbook has more to offer than my new updated macbook. I am still pleased about having a Intel CPU, instead of a G5. Now I can run Windows or Mac OS, but not a fan of Windows, but good to have the option.

It was between this and a macbook pro. The entry level macbook pro had the exact same specs but a smaller hard drive. But the pro does have the SD slot and firewire capabilities. For 200 extra dollars, I just didn't think those features were worth it since I have never used firewire in my life and the SD slot is only a minor inconvenience.
I switched from PC to MAC, this is my first mac ever. I love it. There's just so many small things that it does so well. You have to try it out yourself. And although the specs aren't as good as some PC's in the price range, you wont be able to tell because this operating system is so fast. No hang ups or anything so far. So many cool features and the trackpad is amazing. Also, battery life is 10 times (literally) better than my old Dell. I recommend this for sure.

The MacBook Pro 13" series is my first Mac computer and I LOVE it. I thought I would be lost in it, but on the contrary, I use it everyday and love it so far. I love the fact that it's so simple and I believe that it's definitely worth it to spend the money on it, that is if you have the money. Just like a PC you have to buy and install iWork, which is like MS Programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint), but what's even better is that I can run Windows on my Mac!!! Windows 7 is out and already there are reports of problems with it, come on where has the quality gone?? Anyways, if you have the money, trust me go with a Mac you won't be disappointed. If you're a first time Mac user, allow time to get used to it and don't jump to conclusions right away. I have started using my Mac approximately a month ago and I have been fairly busy, so I haven't had the chance to play around with it, but I can't wait because I know it has soo much to offer. Plus just look around you and tell me if you notice a

I've had a lot of Macs before, both desktops and laptops, and this is one of the best I've owned. The display is crisp with vibrant colors. Some don't like the glare, but I find the brightness outweighs any issue with reflections. The addition of a lighted keyboard is helpful, and the scrollpad is marvelous, very iPhone-like. I also like the addition of a SD car slot, although it does stick out a bit. One less thing to carry around, and you can create a bootable card, which is kind of cool. Since lots of folks have extolled the virtues of the machine, let me explain where Apple stumbled. This computer comes with a user-serviceable hard drive and memory. Check Apple's site; they have instructions for how to replace a hard drive or add memory. But before you slam in a hard drive, beware. Most of the new MBPs come with a firmware update, EFI 1.7, installed. On some MBPs this has caused problems when copying large files. Apple refuses to acknowledge the problem; indeed, EFI 1.7 supplanted

I got my macbook pro 13" Before school started, im going for graphics/web design so getting a mac was a no brainer.
What I like is the amazing battery life, the bright, crisp color display, and it runs adobe creative suite with no problems, so the performance is great.
What i don't like is the screen resolution, 1280 by 800, way to small for what i do, another is the harddrive, 160GB, way to small for the $1,200 apple is asking and maybe the price could be a little cheaper.

This laptop should be a great choice for anyone young and old alike. Easy to use and stunning display made it a easy choice for me. They talk this laptop up and they definitely should. It is everything they say it is. I am actually using it now. I was skeptical about the seven hour battery but it is true. The only con is there no SD card slot, but hey i'm not paying an extra $300 for the pro, just for it. I can always get a usb SD slot for cheap. But yeah definitely a great laptop. I've used Windows up until this laptop and I will never go back. Mac is an all around great operating system with everything you need and could want. And best of all Mac can't get viruses, we all no Windows can...

i also have a desktop pc that i hardly use now trying to get away from windows lately although vista sp2 wasn't to bad there is less maintenance with a linux/mac system not really any viruses to speak of don 't have to defrag the hard drive all of your settings pictures etc are in your home folder (easy to back up ) although its so stable there is not really any need to back it up. after being on windows for years you find a mac is easy to maintain not really any worry it just works you turn it on and go on with your day checking mail making appointments with the included calendar checking the weather on the dashboard surfing the web etc it still doesnt hurt to get the geek squad thing for a year or two just incase since its a laptop i would do that with any laptop but i love this thing :) a mac has a way of keeping ya organized and you do more work it seems more computing hehe

I bought this laptop (MacBook Pro) last week and have been very pleased with the performance. It was very simple to set up. I have used a PC (bought 3 of them) and I was very surprised how easy this computer was to set up and use. I bought the basic 13" MacBook Pro from Best Buy, took it home, set it up, and it has performed to my expectations. What is surprising to me is that the 2 megs of ram is more than enough if you intend to use this machine for basic tasks such as e-mail, internet, and some basic photo use. I began looking for a computer about 3 weeks ago and of course started with the usual suspects and after my research, I determined to go this route. I already want the Imac. I would recommend buying this computer and have found this to be a very pleasant experience.

First of all, I am an experienced computer user and have worked on a lot of different hardware and software.
Initially I had this mindblock about Mac being expensive, limited and difficult to use, but all that has changed now.
I got this new MacBook 2 days back and I can say that it has been one of the best decisions that I have made so far where buying an electronic device goes.
This is my first Mac but 4 th Laptop (excludes the two desktops that I have). I was very used to using a windows based PC and thought that it was so easy and beautiful. Boy was I mistaken!
Not only is Mac more beautiful, it is more fun and easy to use with less hiccups. I have nothing against windows and am still using windows where work goes but Mac has simply bowled me over.
The time I started up the Mac for the first time I knew that this would be love at first sight! The display, the sound, the ease with which Mac setup my user account was smooth and nice that I

The product tin itself is great and looking at the research and development Apple puts into its products its very impressive. Thats what made me buy this product. I love the machine I only wish I could upgrade its RAM and hard drive. the stock machine is not very fast to load the operating system and bootup take a la little bit of time however once the machine is running it works like a charm. So far everything is working just great.

I have been a PC user for since the day I knew that a computer can help your life become much easier, but after all this years, I found out that I was wrong, their is nothing like this magic little equipment, I have had it since august 29th 2009,and I can say that I will never go back to PC, that's it, period.

The absence of a FireWire Port is a MAJOR flaw. Get the smaller MacBook Pro instead. (Only $168 more) This Macbook is a non-starter due to no Firewire. Removing Firewire is like taking all the Philips screwdrivers out of a toolbox. Firewire Target Disk Mode is arguably one of the most useful Mac diagnostic tools. With Firewire you can safely migrate, REPAIR, or perform component tests on a Mac, without damaging the internal drive. Ethernet may work, IF you have two FUNCTIONAL machines. The great thing about Firewire Target Disk mode was that if the Hard Drive or OS was corrupted, or the computer was for some reason unbootable you could still get data off of it quickly, without tools or special equipment. Firewire Target disk mode has saved my rear several times on every machine I have owned. Thousands of devices are Firewire ONLY, with more coming out all the time and this Macbook will NEVER be able to use ANY of them. Some FireWire advantages are: True Target Disk Mode (ethernet

I had this computer for only 2 months. A cup of water got spilled into the keyboard, thus destroying the logic (mother) board. Apple offered to fix it for $800- thanks, but no thanks. I called Apple because I still need a new laptop. They suggested I buy a keyboard cover next time- perhaps that would have saved it. While I had it, it was a nice computer, but I had some issues with migration- moving my data from my older laptop to this one. The time got messed up- it wanted to stay on GMT. I called Apple and they figured out that a folder with local time or something had to be trashed to fix the problem. It took some time, but trashing the folder they told me to trash fixed the problem. So if you're migrating information, call Apple if your date/time doesn't set properly. My main reason for writing this review is not to say what a great computer this is. In fact, the newer one is out with more RAM (3Gb) and more HD storage (250 Gb), for the same price that I bought this one

I am completely new to Macs ( i just bought mine last night), and I must say I am extremely satisfied with the machine. People always talk about how fast Macs are and let me tell you, they were right. I have never been able to run multiple applications this fast before. The screen is absolutely beautiful it makes my old Sony Vaio look antiquated. The touch pad can take a little getting used to but overall I am very satisfied with this product. If you are are one of those people who is on the fence about buying a Mac, don't be, it make take a little getting used to but you will be happy that you chose a Mac.

Well, where to start? Got this computer in September so I believe it's about time to write a review. I purchased the least expensive MBP available knowing that I'd be installing a 500gb, 7200rpm Hard Drive and 4GB of Ram soon afterward. Now, I have the hardware of the 2,499 MBP, 17in for about 1,000 less :-). Like I said earlier, easy to run Windows 7 on, great for recording music, no lag on intense graphic games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Empire: Total War. Runs Microsoft Office with ease and has the ever so life-saving smart-touch pad, beautiful backlit keyboard, turns on quickly and shuts off even quicker and last but not least, no viruses. Awww, do you smell that? Smells like freedom.

Since Windows 95 I have been a PC user, I have been through 95, 98, 98se, millennium, xp and vista and I have had enough. I've been through 3 PC laptops in 4 years and only one of those didn't have fatal hardware failures or viruses. I used Mac's briefly in 99' and didn't understand them at all and have shunned them ever since. Finally after my last laptops motherboard started failing I decided it was time to take the leap to a Mac. The main reason I did this was because I've heard so many good things about them and I have had two iPhones and wanted to continue with Apple products. I waited for the new models to come out first before I got one because I have a habit of always wanting to get the new gizmos. Price is a little higher than what I'm used to but you get what you pay for. It was a little tough getting used to the OS right off the back, as a Windows user this is like going to a foreign country and trying to talk to someone there. I've had it for almost a 2 1/2 weeks now
