12GB 1600MHZ Kit DDR3 PC312800
This kit looks like it is three DDR3 triple chanel memory, each one being 4 GB in size. BEWARE! This is actually SIX 2 GB DDR3 triple chanel memory! For those like me who want to max out the memory this is not the kit to buy since it will only let you go to half the capacity. I had to return the two kits I received from my attempt to maximize my memory capacity.

ASUS Eee PC 900 8.9-Inch Netbook (Intel Mobile Processor, 1 GB RAM, 12 GB Solid State Drive, XP Home, 4 Cell Battery) Galaxy Black

I was interested in the concept of this device for a while, and with refurbished devices coming on the market (and a $50 coupon I received) I decided to go for it and get the device. Let me start by saying that my understanding is a lot of these devices are begin refurbished because they were running Linux, and the refurbish is to put windows XP on the device. That is what I think happened with this device. The original description said Linux, but the device came with Windows XP. What attracted me to the device was the fact it has solid state disks. This makes it very quiet (it only has a small fan for the CPU) and I think will make it robust (nothing moving but the keys). With a built in SD slot and a 2Gbyte SD card, I now have a 14 GByte device. You can't do video editing, but youtube works fine and for word processing/simple spreadsheets it seems to be fine. The small size is great. However, this device is too small for Windows XP. The SSD memory layout is a 4 GByte and a 8

Samsung GO N310-13GB 10.1-Inch Midnight Blue Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life
+ 0 likes
This is the third netbook our household has purchased. The Samsung is far and away the best of the lot (previous: Asus and Lenovo). The keyboard is outstanding and the main reason I selected this model. There is a Ctrl button on both sides. The keys are fully separate from one another. This is as close to a full-sized keyboard I've used. Very little hunt and peck, unlike the previous machines. The Samsung is unbelievably quiet. Even when the fan runs it is virtually inaudible. This is a big plus for me. I disagree with criticism offered by some others of the display. Even though it isn't non-glare there is very little reflection in the glass; there is actually more in the black plastic surrounding the display. The image is crystal clear and doesn't have the fuzziness sometimes associated with non-glare glass. Very bright and sharp. I upgraded the memory to 2 gb and this is a modest cost that is well worth it. A simple exchange of modules does the trick. Overall the machine

EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 X58 3-Way SLI Core i7 Motherboard with Tri-Channel DDR3 and Tuning Utility

Quick note for people. The Jmicron SATA drivers on this board DO NOT like Raid 0. If you use the JM ports and a raid 0 you will get blue screen repeatably untill eventually the board will die. If you are going to use a raid 0 make sure to use the microsoft SATA ports. This is not fixed with bios updates. I've tried to get the jmicron ports to work with a raid 0 for the past year or so and they just won't (I've had the board since i7 release). Multiple bios updates, jmicron updates, board tweeks, and nothing. Sorry, but I can't recommend this board for a serious rig, this is a huge problem.

Samsung GO N310-13GB 10.1-Inch Midnight Blue Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life

I own and use both a Toshiba Satellite notebook for windows applications and a Macbook Pro for apple applications (I prefer a separate windows machine over rebooting into boot camp and also for the additional hard drive space for my multimedia applications). Recently I saw the netbooks at a local department store, and asked myself why I would want one. The reasons boiled down to: 1. Long battery life. 2. Portability. 3. Light-weight. 4. Ability to play Netflix on-demand movies. 5. Ability to play Real Arcade games (or similar web-based games). 6. Solid build. 7. Somewhat decent speakers for listening to Rhapsody or other subscription based music programs. 8. Responsive speed for Microsoft Word 2003 (not 2007). 9. Chatting with my children who are away at college. I then went on a week-long research into the different machines, read the reviews, played with them at the store, typing to see which one would fit my large hands, listening to the sound, picking them up to see how they

The board itself is excellent - tons of features, stable, and easy to overclock. However, a few things are missing: No drivers for Windows 7 (yet) so you're basically stuck with the Microsoft default drivers for the chipset/RAID controller/etc. You also can't install the Asus ExpressGate (though Windows 7 boots up fast enough to make it kind of superfluous - I disabled it in the BIOS. One of the only problems I had with this board was with the chassis intrusion feature. There is no way to disable the feature from the BIOS, and once the intrusion is tripped, the system will halt after POST. The only way to clear it is to reset the BIOS. So basically, every time you open up the case you have to clear the BIOS. Is this intentional? Maybe - obviously this affords the greatest level of security. But I just want the feature to tell me if someone was fooling with the case; I don't want the whole machine to lock down because of it. And again, there's no way to set the board to not halt on ALL

Samsung GO N310-13GB 10.1-Inch Midnight Blue Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life

This Product is better than any other netbook compare by the design, I've notice it has Surround and WOW sound system. The sound system can bring more bass as default and echo setting for headset plug. The Picture will be bright, but you can fix the settings. The battery system control option like 80% charge setting to Increase your battery life and that a cool feature. We all know li-ion loses its battery power 15 to 25% after a year. also, the keyboard is fairly close to a regular keyboard length which that is a plus for me. The battery which is 8850mah that includes giving that boost so the cooling will be better. Great Buy, I wonder why other store had not shown this product as display but its worth not seeing it until you own it. Netbook has Webcam that runs smooth. Im still using 1GB about to upgrade to 2 GB, But it still runs smooth after installing word 07 default mcafee antivirus. yeah This is awesome Netbook,With nice texture and nice feel that it wont seem to slip off your hand

Battery life is okay and the XP runs okay. This is not a desktop replacement and doing anything with it beyond internet/email use can't be expected to go well. For the price I would have paid extra and got a full blown notebook with bigger keyboard. If you have a very directed use of email, internet and very light word processing this might work.

Samsung GO N310-13GB 10.1-Inch Midnight Blue Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life

I can't express how happy I am with this product. The battery easily lasts 9 hours in battery saver mode, probably 6 or so in regular mode, which to me is great. The keyboard with raised keys is cool and easy to type on even with my slightly big hands. The glossy screen i thought would bother me but it's quite beautiful. It is not only aesthetically pleasing, but the casing is very durable and has a good strong feel especially for such a light machine. All in All, I think this computer is awesome.

EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR X58 SLI Mainboard

If you're looking for a three-way SLI capable board, this is a reasonably-priced choice. It comes with plenty of USB and SATA ports as well as 6 DIMM slots. Setup was easy. However, I have 2 complaints (-1 star for each): 1) The onboard SATA connectors point in the plane of and away from the board. Unless you have a very deep case, making connections is a tight squeeze - especially after you install 1 or more video cards. 2) There is one standard PCI slot, and the header for connecting external audio is directly between it and the back of the case. This makes the slot nearly useless. What were they thinking?

Well worth the money, with the great look and cool features, I fully support this board. Like most have said, the northbridge gets hot (60 degrees on bios) and it lacks IDE (Though at tiger direct I got an ide to sata converter for 4 bucks.). Im using this motherboard, an i7 920, a geforce 8400 gs temporaraly, a coolermaster 690 nvidia edition case, a ultra 600w psu, ocz 1600mhz tri channel memory, and some componants from my old pc like the dvd drive and hard drive.

Good motherboard. System booted on first try. Ok board for 2 card sli, but if you're doing tri-sli should get a true enthusiast board (like the classified for bandwidth reasons). Able to overclock, but not as many options as some other boards (again look to the classified if you like doing lots of tweaking for overclocking). The major negatives are "the only 2" year warranty (other evga boards have lifetime) and the northbridge gets hot. The northbridge goes to mid 60c which is ok but some boards are cooler and some have active cooling. i added a system fan blowing over the motherboard and that helps. Pros: - it works! - board is solidly constructed - led display has error codes and displays cpu temperature - on board power, reset buttons - black motherboard looks cool! Cons: - hot northbridge (lots of mb's have this issue though) - 2yr warranty

This is the 9th or 10th motherboard I've had since I started building my own pcs. By far and away, this is the best motherboard I've ever owned. It's rock solid stable, reliable, and overclocks like crazy if you're into that. Bios updates are very frequent, and customer support of EVGA is superb.

SoundPoint IP Expansion Module - Key expansion module

I have owned this guy for almost two months now, and continue to be quite impressed by it. It should be noted that I upgraded mine with a 2GB memory stick, and a Super Talent SSD drive. Together these were about $75 and took about 10 minutes to install. When I purchased this, my main concern was the screen. I should not have worried. The small screen is very bright and clear, and I find that I have enough room for web browsing and email (the primary tasks of a computer like this). What I didn't anticipate was the keyboard. It is too small, and some of the keys are frustratingly placed. I switch between three or four computers during the course of a day (main work computer, main home computer, laptop at home, and this guy for when I'm commuting) so I can't 'get used' to the keyboard layout. I am constantly hitting the up-arrow key instead of shift, which is very frustrating. As well, I find that I have to pay attention a lot more to which keys I'm hitting because they are so

SoundPoint IP Expansion Module - Key expansion module

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. After one week, the keyboard stopped responding correctly. It froze up and didn't work at all for one day. I turned it on the next day and had a different issue. Some keys stopped working and others started typing the wrong letters or numbers. The thing is, it wasn't consistant and sometimes the keys would type many different letters. I waited on hold with the customer service center for 45 minutes without getting anyone to speak to and gave up. The next day, the computer wouldn't even turn on. I have no idea what the problem is, but I need to commit to sitting on the phone for a long time to iron out this issue. Please don't buy this netbook, I'm sure you can find a better one out there. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this, since it is currently a $300 paperweight.

ASUS Rampage II Extreme LGA1366 Intel X58 DDR3-1600 ATX Motherboard

I've had this board for about two weeks and overall, very impressed. Was able to overclock a Core i7 920 to 3.8GHz with very little effort. Prime95 torture tests (small FFT's) stable for 24 hours and temps did not exceed 66C on any core. Idle temps 37C-44C. This board has a number of nice features; * the layout is very nice, all SATA ports are accessible, even with a long video card * bios is extensive - about the only setting I could not find was the ability to adjust the memory command rate. All the frequencies, multipliers, and memory timings can be adjusted in the manual mode. It also includes a number of "pre-set" overclock choices for the novice. * the LCD poster has many available configurations, including temperature, voltage, or HW info. * dual bios - if an overclock or a flash upgrade fails there is a spare bios available to boot from (jumper selectable) * lighted back panel * status LED's - there are several status LED's positioned around the board to indicate any problems

Samsung GO N310-13GB 10.1-Inch Midnight Blue Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life

My friend bought one, It felt good the moment I gave it a test run. The key board was not to cramp like other netbooks in the market, it was slick and fast enough for on the go task like web browsing and checking emails on the go. Perfect for people who are in field positions like me. Another feature I loved was that I was able to connect my blackberry to it because its Bluetooth 2.0+EDR feature. I transfered a loan document from netbook to my blackberry which I thought was awsome. Also we were able to use the Blackberry as a modem to do some internet thethering we checked some property values online and it perform very nice and fast. Battery life was great since it come with a 6 cell lithium battery it gave us more than 4 hours out on the road. With a 160GB Hard Drive its more than enough for streamline field work and it made life much easier for my clients and us. The only thing I could say was not great that the netbook dont come with an optical drive included, but that is fine you could
