This is my 3rd Aluratek frame and I absolutely love it. I bought a 7" for my office, a 10.5" for my wife, and now this 11" for my mother in law. I became a loyal customer when I lost my remote on my 7" frame 5months ago and called their tech support. They replaced my remote for absolutely free provided I send them a postage paid envelope! Now that is service!!!!
I've done alot of research on frames and at this price point and the pros are:
1) Resolution is 800 x 480 which is pretty much the highest out there in the market for this price range and size
2) Brightness and Contrast can be adjusted
3) Slideshow feature that allows you to view 4 smaller pics simultaneously
4) Very solid wood frame
5) Comes with 1GB SD (holds more images & mp3s than I need)
6) Allows you to zoom a pic to fill the entire screen
7) On/Off timer, this is a must have feature!
8) Calendar
Here are some cons:
1) 16:9 aspect ratio - but again, you can fill the screen by touch of a button on the remote
2)

Picture quality is great, customer service is not great, and firmware is defective.
If you don't want to use the automatic shutoff then you will probably love this product. So far, it is the only firmware problem I have found. This doesn't mean there aren't others; it is just the only one I know of.
If you set the slide show time change to 60 seconds or greater, the time of day clock will not update. This will result in the failure of any programmed on/off time.
Programmable on/off would be a great feature, if it worked. You probably don't want it running at night when sleeping and you probably want to change what pictures are displayed during the day. For example, suppose you want to change the picture every hour and you also want to turn off the digital frame between 11:00 PM until 7:00 AM. This is supposed to be programmable and happen automatically, but it will only work if the pictures change every 30 seconds or less.
I called customer service. They are aware of the problem

I used this paper with the Epson R800 pigment ink printer with an eMac running OS 10.4.11. It's the thickest ink jet paper I've used; I had to stick a couple sheets of office paper behind it to get it to load correctly. Even then, a few prints had small smudges on them, presumably because of the thickness of the paper. But Silk does live up to its billing as having the look and feel of fiber-based photo paper, at least of any ink jet paper I've used. Of the three Ilford ink jet papers I've used, I'd rate Silk the warmest, Pearl neutral and Heavy-Weight Matte the coolest. What annoyed me about Silk was the vague instructions that came in the box and with the downloaded printer profile. I couldn't figure out if Ilford considered Silk a semi-gloss or matte paper! The printed instructions advise against using matte black ink as it "may smudge and does not adhere well to the surface." But the PDF with the printer profile says to use the "Matte Paper-Heavyweight" setting in the printer menu.

I recently read a great comparison review of Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta 325 , Harman Gloss FB AI, and Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk on the Luminous Landscape website. They gave glowing reviews of the Hahnemuhle and Ilford papers, so I decided to buy both and try it myself. Both of these papers are INCREDIBLE. Deep rich blacks, great tonal range, and almost no glossing or bronzing whatsoever. However, much to my surprise, I have to give the edge to the Ilford paper. I have always been a fan of Hahnemuhle products, and not a big fan of Ilford (except back in the film days when it was my favorite darkroom photopaper), but the Ilford clearly wins out. Both are incredible papers, but the Hahnemuhle has a little too much surface stipple for my liking whereas the Ilford is more subtle. The fact that the Ilford paper is considerably cheaper certainly doesn't hurt, but even setting price aside I like the Ilford better. Very heavy 310 gm paper that is wonderful to work with (it must be run through

As many others have done, I researched tons before buying this frame.
> Con: I was only able to load about 12 photos before the frame crapped out. It stopped copying photos completely (and yes, I am more than computer literate!)
> Con: You can't shuffle photos (is there any frame that does?!)
> Con: Frame was an obvious return to Amazon. This may be part of my problem, but I've been burned 3x's now on these stupid frames (Polaroid and Brookstone both had problems too) and if it weren't for the fact that this was a promised x-mas present for dad, I would give up!
> Pros: yes, there are pros but what's the point when you can't get the photos to copy into the frame!

The large screen and the resolution of the Aluratek 11-inch digital frame is one of the best out in the market for this price range so I gave this a 3 star. However, I expected it to come with an onboard 1GB internal memory but there is no onboard internal storage at all. Instead, it comes with a 1GB SD card which you can leave in the SD slot. Since the SD card that comes with it will take up the only SD slot available, there is no way you can transfer images from your own SD card without doing so through a computer. Actually, the only memory card to memory card transfer that you can do with this frame is from a Compact Flash card and even then, the transfer process is annoying because you have to do it one image at a time. Also, you have to manipulate images using your computer or camera first to correct any image orientation that looks "sideways". Menus can only be controlled through the remote that comes with it. The slideshow cannot be sorted or grouped without manipulating the

Picked up box to test as this is not yet available in a sample pack. Using Epson 2400 (has K3 Ultrachrome inkset). Assumed from what I had read on Hahnemuhle's site that this is a paper to use Photo Black cartridge. Did a couple of test prints (I am a landscape photographer); not very impressed. Tried Matte Black and printed a B&W image and it came out very nice. Hahnemuhle Torchon had been my favourite for B&W pigment prints, this looked very close in quality with a ever so slightly warmer tone. Need to do a couple of large prints but this will likely be my new B&W paper for pigment prints.

I've been testing this paper on both an Epson 3800 and a Canon iPF5000, both high quality pigment printers. I've also been testing the new Harman Gloss FB AI paper. The Ilford is very good and I much prefer it to the Harman (which is stupidly expensive compared to the Ilford Gold Fibre Silk). The Ilford lays flat, is heavy, has a wonderful traditional look and feel, provides a very good dynamic range with deep blacks and luminous highlights, has no optical brightners (has a slightly warm tone), and works very well for both B&W and Color. It does exhibit slightly more gloss differential than the Harman paper, but overall is the nicest photo black ink "high end" paper that I've come across. Definitely recommend for use with pigment photo printers.

I bought this digital picture frame for my parents wedding anniversary. I loaded about 100 pictures into the memory on the frame. They loved it! The process of loading the pictures was easy, and they look great. I needed to rotate some of the pictures to make them display properly. It took me a while to figure out the process, but once you do it, it is not that hard. The remote control works well, and the image quality is really good. I have not tried to put music on it, but you can do that and videos, too.

Just purchased a PAN111. Also purchased an 8" Pandigital at the same time. Some very nice features:
* The PAN111 is dramatically faster than the 8" display
* USB pen drives work great in this unit
However, overwhelming all the good features, the display quality is unacceptable.
The display appears to be incorrectly converting the image or oversharpening the image. Also, highlights are too bright. Several things I tried:
* Setting photo to original size (from optimal)
* Adjusting brightness and contrast.
* Reset to factory defaults
Nothing worked. I am planning to return the display.

I've been using the CyberPad for about the last 6 weeks every day in a classroom setting (I teach math). I come into the classroom, plug the USB cable into the classroom computer, and turn on the projector. I've been using the included RiteMail program to capture and display the notes. After class I clean the notes up a bit, save them as pdf files, and then post them on the class web page in Blackboard. By "clean them up" I mean that I get little extra "doodads" on my letters and mathematical symbols when I try to write either too fast or too small. I clean them up with the eraser tool in RiteMail.
Here are some additional advantages of using the CyberPad in the classroom:
- in class, students can focus more on following the logic of the lecture and less on making sure they record every jot and tittle in their notes;
- great for communicating with my online students;
- no more, "I missed class. Can I get a copy of your notes?";
- class notes are immediately available for students

This is not what I thought it was. this is more of a scrap book. the pages are manilla paper and that is it! We also didn't get either of the ones pictured, but some crappy BRIGHT 70's design. Maybe ok for a teenage girl, but not for adults wanting to store treasured, very old, family photos. it TOOK FOREVER to get a refund and I was only refunded the item not the shipping even though it wasn't what was shown in the picture or what I felt was listed. The service team is the worst.

This is by far the best looking frame they had on display. Compared to other models, the clarity and color was supreme.
I have had the item for about 5 months now. Mine had some problems after the second month, called tech support and they mailed me a new one ASAP...did not even require me to mail old one back.
For the people who are concerned about the other reviews: Be aware people are much more likely to write a review if they have negative things to say. They feel somehow they are getting payback. However, I advise you: The item clearly states it has an industry standard 90 day warranty. You get what you buy.
Also, for the black lines issue, you most likely used a memory card/usb connection that transmitted a virus or some malicious software. Simply resetting the device, as advised on Pandigital's website, will fix the problem. The Pandigital seems to perform the best and it has lived up to its standards. My father owns the 6" version, for what he has had for 13 months now, no

This is, by far, the best digital photo frame I've seen. MP3 player plays along with the photo slide show. Remote control is full featured. Photos are optimally resized without distortion. Frame bezel is removable. Compatible with all popular memory cards including a port for USB thumb drives. Absolutely no down side to this. I had purchased other frames from different manufacturers. None came close to this one in terms of ease of use and utility.

I purchased one of these units about 6 weeks ago. The picture is sharp, easy setup, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. My kids managed to damage the remote control this weekend, and when I called Aluratek to purchase a new remote, they kindly offered to send me one for free. Now that's customer service. Highly recommend

Do not buy PanDigital. They do not support the product. Mine quit working (flash!) after less than 4 months. "Customer Service" told me "unfortunately...." after the 90 day warranty they would do nothing. Don't believe the manual or their website. They do not repair this product...There are NO parts, you are just SOL. Stay away!!

Purchased from antonline and arrived with screws loose and some minor scraches in an original box open and damaged, with no protection on the botton of the package. Email the seller througt amazon asking advice because those screws makes difficult to star on the frame: no answer yet.
When I make it work the digital frame have a wonderful image and easy features. Looks like only works with a memory card inserted.
Thinking to sended back, but it is not an easy solution for me.
I rate the digital photo frame 4.5 plus, but my rate for antonline is poor.

The Aluratek 11 in. Digital Photo Frame is the best I've seen so far. With 1GB of Internal Memory, there is plenty of room for PICS and Music. The 1024x786 Resolution is great. The PICS I put in the frame look outstanding. I have an imac and it was just drag and drop from iphoto. I paid $208 from Ritz Camera. What a bargain. If you are looking for a Dig. Photo Frame, take a look at this one. I don't think you'll find a better frame for the money.
