I bought this for my daughter who is studying abroad. My husband carefully opened the box and took photos with it. Then rewrapped it back in its original packing to surprise her. He enjoyed the camera so much that he wanted one. At 10.1MP, you can't beat the quality. And it was so easy to use the first time that he didn't need to destroy the instruction manual. She wanted a very small camera with great quality and the Casio came through on all accounts.

Small enough to fit in my pocket, however, after 1 week, the screen got a hairline fracture. Even with the pointer pen, screen easily stores fingerprints. Buttons are hard to push with pointer, and navigating is not easy. The flash is VERY Bright (blinding - the kids no longer enjoy having their picture taken), and I have not figured out how to soften it. I have read the manual cover to cover and still have difficults getting the performance I need. First batch of pictures were VERY Grainy (my old Kodak 3.1MP camera took clearer images).
Sony replaced the screen quickly, which was very nice. Perhaps I just need to get acclimated with it more.

Received 1st SD880, there was a distinct clicking sound when zooming in/out. Called Amazon, they sent a replacement right away. Good to know there's still great customer service in America. Also own SD870 (wife took it one day, haven't seen it since...), lens corners and barrel distortion definitely better than SD870. Digic4 fast, lots of cool new features. Video considerably better, files more compact (still cannot zoom optically but that would be a lot to ask for).
As far as all important Image Quality, I can't tell the difference between the two (don't get caught up in the MP hype, above 5-6MPS's, for most people who don't crop a lot, it's all marketing). Overall a great compact p/s with 28mm wide capability.

I spent several weeks reviewing the REBEL XS vs it's many 10 MP adversaries, I even checked it against the ultra zooms as I wanted the convenience of video as well, but too many good things stood out with this camera and so I decided upon it. I bought the rebel XS and after days of dirt testing this camera I've found it a beautiful experience.
Now I'm a professional videographer attached to a tv station in Trinidad & Tobago, my purpose for this camera was the need for a quick sharp still shot camera that would be impressive under low light and still capture impressive portrait shots to be used for my website and for large prints. I didn't want to shell out over a $1000. US for a camera body.
What is tagged by Canon is true: The full auto mode is truly accurate and gives excellent shots always, it makes photography so easy for a beginner or intermediate. The portrait mode isn't blurry, images are clean, nicely toned, excellent in quality for large size prints. The

Canon PowerShot SD880IS 10MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) This camera replaces my trusty SD700IS which met it's demise from a nasty drop in Europe during summer holiday. The LCD screen size of the SD880 is great and makes for easy preview and post viewing of your photos. Image quality is good if you wait a moment for the focus. The face recognition system in the camera works very well and helps make for better sharpness then past cameras when focusing on people. It's fun to watch it find the faces and go to work. I do wish Canon worked in a standard viewfinder to save the battery but I guess that would have made the size of the LCD smaller to accommodate it.
I would suggest you have enough light or you will find a little higher noise in your photos. This is the downside of having 10 mega pixels.
There are limited manual controls on this camera which is typical of newer point and shoots but if you do some reading or have a geek friend you can

I would love to like this camera and have kept it by my side for two weeks trying to find a "happy place" with it. Many valid points in the previous reviews. I am no professional. I just have way too many blurry shots that would have been clear with my previous camera. Returning item and will continue to research.

I purchased this camera primarily for its ability to record 720 video in a small form factor.
I've never owned a digital camera, but thought that it was finally time to stop relying on my girlfriend to take photos. Living in San Francisco, having quick access to a camera is vital and a small slim factor is key.
I bought this camera mindful of the caveat that its battery life is terrible, so I ordered an extra battery. I was pleasantly surprised to find a battery charger bundled with the camera. Even two fully charged batteries, however, wasn't enough energy for a trip to the California Academy of Sciences for 3-4 hours. Perhaps 20 minutes of HD video--total--and 300 photos completely drained both batteries. Flash was rarely used, to make the limitations of the battery even more dramatic.
I enjoy the camera and the video quality, but this battery life is absolutely terrible. If I was to go on a day trip, there would be no way 2 batteries would be enough. The supplied battery charger takes

I bought this camera to take pictures of my sons playing baseball and for our little league year book. It is easy to use and has features that help me to get the shots that I need. The sports setting takes shots without a delay, and by holding down the button, I can get multiple shots so that I don't have to try to time out the play at home plate in order to get the shot. I have been very pleased with the results.

I'm beyond point and shoot, but didn't want to go back to lugging a huge gadget bag with SLR and lenses. The SX10IS fills the gap -- very nicely. I don't think I'll ever need another camera.

An excellent camera for those just getting into photography, or someone not ready to spend a fortune on a pro camera. Tons of features that are easy to figure out, and make picture-taking a breeze. The zoom is wonderful for getting in close to your subject quickly and quietly. Haven't had it for very long, so I haven't used all it's features yet. But, what I have used has made my shots better and more professional looking. Like someone who knows what they're doing! Would recommend this camera. Great features for not too much money.

This Canon camera is awesome. I wanted to take a set up from the 5MP Sony Cybershot I used for years. Having 10 MP and 20X Optical with this Canon makes a world of difference. It's great having the ability to tilt the viewing screen. I've recommended this camera to all my family and friends.

First let me say I am not any kind of photography expert. I have owned a 35mm Canon rebel and a Minolta SLR. The rebel took decent pictures but the Minolta was terrible. So needless to say I never really learned to use them. I was alway a Point and SHoot gal. This camera takes AMAZING pictures straight out of the box. THe large zoom really focuses well. I still haven't taken the time to learn about all the features but so far I am loving this camera.

A GREAT CAMERA FOR THE AMATEUR IF SERIOUS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY, IT HAS AN AWFULLY LOT OF SETTINGS THAT CAN BE USED BUT TAKES A LOT OF STUDYING THE MANUAL TO MASTER ALL OF ITS POTENTIAL.
I HAVE YET TO EXPERIMENT WITH CONTROLLING WHITE BALANCE AND BRACKETING BUT I'M GETTING THERE.
THE PRICE GIVES MORE BANG FOR THE BUCK THAN THE MID-RANGE NIKON OR CANNON.

Bought this camera after wife divorced and took our other one. Excellent price and great picture. Pulled up the pictures on the 42' plasma TV and the pictures are clear as can be. Takes a little while to work through all the functions, but when you learn how to use everything, it is great.

I usually dont leave reviews, however with this I HAD to. Although I had never owned a Fuji camera before, I bought it based on the reviews from various websites. I have had Sony, Casio and Canon camera's before but it was time to upgrade my Megapixels and also have more user changeable settings.
PRO's
* Looks nice
* Lightweight
* Cheap
* Supports SDHC
* Uses standard AA batteries
CONs
* Color is horrible! No matter what mode your in or how you change the settings, the color is always off.
* Whitebalance settings do NOT work properly. Sure changing the whitebalance settings changes the colors, but from bad to worse!
* Even on the highest quality setting and the best ISO, the image is still grainy and not sharp. Hard to believe it is actually 10 Megapixel.
* Extremely slow response (I have kids and need the shutter to work the second I press the button.)
I tried playing with the settings for 2 days to get the picture quality I wanted. I had to change settings continuously to get a picture

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28S 10MP Digital Camera with 18x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver)
I began taking scores of photos as soon as the camera arrived and have been completely satisfied with its performance. I use it a lot for nature shots, especially animals, and find the 18X exceptionally effective. My HAND-HELD SHOTS AT FULL 18 X zoom are amazing - strong testimony to Panasonic's image stabilization. My assessment now is that this may be the last camera I will need. Worth the full 5 stars!

Still new but have used quite a bit. It's a great camera -- does everything I need and more. Photo quality excellent and the camera is intelligent enough to keep me from screwing up the drill. Well worth the price.

If you want a small camera that you can fit in your pocket or purse and take good quality images without paying a lot this is perfect for you. I had the 6.2 mp version a long time ago and it worked perfectly for 2 years untill the shutter wouldn't open (other people I knew had the same problem). I then swithced to the Sony from the Aerosmith comercial, which I loved for the lense and features and would reccomend if you are looking to pay more. Then it came out of my pocket on a rollercoaster and that was that - so for not wanting to pay a lot for another camera, I knew this would do the deal.

I've owned the LX2 for a year and a half now and decided to try an LX3 to see if any of the LX2 shortcomings were remedied.
Long story to short,don't bother.
Yes the lens on the LX3 is slightly faster and goes a little wider and yes
the noise has been reduced a bit but in reality you will rarely notice the improvements in noise over the LX2.
Unfortunately none of it makes up for the big detraction from the new LX3 which
is the radically shortened Zoom range which I miss a lot.You just can't move in on a subject like you could with the LX2 and therefore must do it with software after you have taken the picture.Of course when you have to blow up and crop a photo is when the noise in the photo can become a more noticeable problem. The camera is also slightly larger than an LX2 and unfortunately Panasonic decided to continue with the very annoying lens cap design for lens protection.If they are going to make us use a lens cap why then would they make us buy a special adapter just to add a

I purchased the S2000HD to replace my Fuji FinePix S5000. After firing over 130,000 pictures through the S5000, I thought purchasing another FinePix camera would bring the same or better results. This camera has let me down!
The S5000 shots at 6 megapixels with amazing clarity and color saturation. I have printed pictures up to 2' X 3' where you begin to notice the pixels. An 11" X 17" picture turns out sharp and crisp. When I read the specs about the S2000HD, I was excited to have picture quality with additional upgrades including a larger LCD screen, wide-angle lens, and faster `burst' picture mode for sporting events. But the results were offset by poor performance and even poorer customer service.
On Halloween I shot about 100 frames of `trick or treaters' at my door. About a dozen were clear enough to see details in their costumes. I shot on the automatic mode and almost created a traffic jam as the kids had to wait for the camera to focus, set, and flash. My old camera would perform
