Great TV, great picture...easy set up. The TV wobbles on the stand. Has to be hard wired into a network. Not able to use a wireless network card in the USB slot.

While it was working it looked and sounded great. But a month after I bought it, while watching tv it went dark. No picture, no sound, nothing. Pathetic performance for a brand new tv.

I bought this tv just over 1 year ago & along the top of my screen it looks like I've hung Christmas ornaments. It's not so noticeable on darker shots but if it goes to a light screen color you can see shadows along the top of the screen. I tried to clean them off but it's in the screen not on it. Warranty is up so I just get to look at it....Wish I would've waited til these came down in price - $1400 at the time for a 42"!

just got the sony 46 xbr9 television to replace my 42 sharp aquos lcd tv, wow....the picture quality on the sony is by far better than the sharp. always thought that sony tvs had the best picture compared to other lcds on the market. got this tv home and set it up on the wall in about half an hour. had a standard hdmi cable connected from my ps3 to the tv....salesperson at bestbuy said to purchase monster cable thx 1000 series to take full advantage of the sony's 240 hz refresh rate, but thought that hdmi was hdmi. after watching transformers part 2 on blue ray, decided to get the new monster cable the next day....man was it a big difference!! absolutely no blur with the new cable and motionflow 240 turned on. all i can say is definitely get this tv if u are in the market for a new lcd tv. won't be disappointed by this set...but do make sure u get the new hdmi cable from monster cable to enjoy all the features available on this set.

This, my 4th HDTV, replaced a 2yo 40-inch SONY, which itself was fantastic. Got it from AMAZON at a ridiculuously low $1575! While I have calibration tools, I didn't need them after minimizing the lamp and fiddling with the other video options. Unlike a few who saw no significant effect, I am impressed with the 240hz performance, and with other adjustments which do not significantly interplay, requiring endless back and forth tweaking. The XBR9 delivers totally accurate skin tones from chalk white to ebony black. The sound is OK for viewing local newscasts, etc., but not for entertainment programming, which I play through a Marantz A/V and a bi-amped Klipsch front (I am a dedicated 5.1 fan). The results (via COMCAST) approach theater-quality, and awesome when viewing Blurays through my OPPO BDP-83. The standard definition channels, which vary between broadcasters, are noticeably better than my 40-inch SONY delivered. I notice that the price has shot way up since I got my set, so if I was

I have the 120Hz refresh and the picture is just amazing. I got it with the Bose 321 sound system and it is crazy how awesome this thing is. You can see the beads of sweat on the football players faces and for movies the colors are just amazing.

Love this Sony! Just sorry that PIP was deleted from the XBR9. No other complaints. Glad to see the piano gloss frame of T.V. has clear lucite (plastic) over it which slightly lessens the glare. Can't stand full piano gloss frames that reflect every light source in a room. Hopefully Sony will consider totally non-glare frames and screens in the near future. Not happy that Amazon's price dropped nearly $100 a few days after I purchased the T.V.! Delivery service was great & T.V. was delivered two days after order placed, which was a real plus. Would highly recommend purchasing a T.V. from Amazon and would really appreciate a credit to my account for the price drop, which would be done by any reputable dealer!!

I've had the TV for about three months now and can't complain a bit. I watch mostly sports and they all look magnificent on this set. I researched the marketplace for quite a while before I bought the 46" Sharp. It was a breeze for me to set up and the Directv guy who came to do HD upgrade was also quite helpful. I got a Sony blu-ray and surround sound system at the same time and the whole home theater system cost me right around $1,500 before taxes.

I had a plasma before this - which I absolutely loved.
I wanted something bigger.
Even my girlfriend - which really doesn't care either way - said the image quality on this set is clearly better.
The images are so clear in the Hidef channels that they almost seem three dimensional.
A bit pricey but worth it.

OK,

So my new and improved TV Service provider, who supplies Internet, TV and Phone-hint, hint......has the ability to hook-up their service via HDMI-BIG PLUS. This starts me on a "quest" for the "right" TV to match.

I had a Plasma, 42-inch which I have had forever!!! And with which I have been madly in love with until NOW!

I walk into my local electronics store one Saturday afternoon....and there it is: Sony Bravia Baby!!! Of course, they always have TVs at shoulder level to further entice the consumer.

Thus starts the research. I read and read and read......connectivity options, picture, 1080i Vs. 1080p...you name it.

At the end of the day, with Best Buy's deal (blue-ray and AV system purchase) gets you TV, AV, and Blue-ray for around $1800.00!!!!! SWEET! The search was over.

As someone who LOVES action movies and TV in general....I can tell you that this TV kicks some serious tail. Smoking picture, smooth transitions, and with the

I've had the TV for almost a month and couldn't be happier. The matte finish on the screen is what attracted me to the TV in the first place. The room where the TV sits is very bright and this really cuts down and almost eliminates glare on the screen. I looked at Samsung LED TVs and the screen was shiny and there was a lot of glare, I could actually see clear reflections of objects in the room on the screen. The ambient light sensor on the TV is a great feature. It adjusts the brightness to compensate for the ambient room lighting. In the evening the picture is not a bright as during the day. The picture quality is excellent. Guests have said it feels like you are actually part of what you are watching. Sony has done it again with the Bravia XBR. I would highly recommend this product. In addition the price on Amazon was unbelievable!

I upgraded from a Sony Wega XBR 32" (No HD) to the Sony Bravia XBR 46" (1080p HD) and I'm thankful everytime I turn on a sporting event. Simply said, this television is unbelievable. The picture quality is the best I've ever seen and I was even more blown away when I hooked up my PS3 for the first time and watched Planet Earth in Blu Ray. The internal speakers are good and having the ability to "sync" all your Sony products cuts down on the remotes needed to run everything.

All I can say is wow. I thought I saw HD before until I brought this TV home and hooked it up to my blu ray player. I was blown away but the picture I was seeing. Mine came with a sony 5.1 system and it syncs up perfectly with the TV. When I turn the tv on the sound is automatically directed to the system and it is also turned on. When I change the volume with the TV remote the audio on the system changes. When I turn the Tv off the sound system turns off too! I could not have asked for a better combo.

The very moment I watched a movie on this set I noticed something that would bug me the entire time. The backlight is sort of strange. When there's a dark scene the backlight will get too dark and you can barely see anything on screen. I, personally, don't like automatically adjusting backlights.

Also, while watching a DVRed show (and fast-forwarding through the commercials), the screen will sometimes cut to black, as if the signal was cut off. I guess this is an Energy Star "feature", but it's quite annoying.

Had this TV for three days and the sound and picture kept cutting out. I got in touch with Sony and they instructed me to "up date" the TV with a download, which didn't help. I ended up taking the TV back and bought a Samsung and love it.

I purchased this TV because of the GREAT reviews here at Amazon & other websites. Only 1 thing, and a warning to everyone considering this TV. After owning this for less than 10 months, it started powering on & off after being on for 3-4 hours. I spoke to Samsung Customer Service, was told to reset the TV, unplug it from the surge protector I was protecing it with & plug directly into an outlet. In less than 1 week the situation got worse, so that it performed its on-off routine in 1.5 hours of being on. I Googled the problem, and found out that many were complaining of the same issue, and that these TV's are fitted with a bad power supply. Thank goodness it was still under factory warranty, as the service people came & took it in to replace the power supply (which, by the way has taken more than 2 weeks). It seems this problem has affected ALL Samsung LCD models, from 30" up to 50". The service guys actually told me to be sure I had an extended warranty, as even though Samsung has updated

Delivery was one day late, though I had to push even for that. The delivery company was not easy to reach: I was transferred and put on hold at least four times with each call. If I hadn't been persistant delivery would have been at least 4 days overdue even though the delivery website said the tv was a mere 10 miles away. That said, the tv itself has been pretty great. It can read movies, music etc directly from our server and plays well with the recuever and mostly with PS3. We have had a couple of instances when the screen went dark while playing Guitar Hero, but that could have been a PS3 error. It doesn't play well with the Popcorn Hour media extender, so we've had to re-rip our video collection. Not an issue for the average user. Sports (hockey especially) have superior picture quality.

This is my second Sony Bravia LCD television , previously I had purchased the 32" XBR6 so I had some kind of idea as what to expect. The XBR9 series is internet ready which allowed me to connect to the internet (for video streaming) without the use of a PC (used with my XBR6). Netflix is coming on board as a streaming provider apparently in November and we are very much looking forward to that. I had to use a wireless ethernet bridge to connect to my broadband but that was easy as the TV's network setup supports wireless bridges. Connection to the broadband also allows media stored on other networked PCs to be played on the TV (the PCs use Windows Media Player to make themselves DLNA servers) so sharing vacation pictures and listening to MP3s remotely on the TV is now possible. Back to the video streaming and actual internet content (limited good stuff) - other than Netflix, which is coming, there are movies available from Amazon.com - did this have something to do with the great price

"I started off like many people; I did a lot of research in preparation for buying a T.V. I was waiting to find just the perfect deal. I was on the plasma bandwagon but I could not find anyone to guarantee me that there would be no "burn in" so I kept looking for LCD TV. I saw the LED but just could not bring myself to spend that much on just a TV. That’s when I was introduced to the Sony Bravia. My dad bought a Bravia a few years ago and I thought wow, but I could never afford that. Then Best Buy had this deal a 46 Bravia XBR with blue ray, and surround sound for 1800 bucks. When I saw this I was all over it. Sometimes I have buyer’s remorse when I make big purchases...the only remorse I have with this is, I wish the deal was offered earlier. The picture on this TV is fantastic, absolutely no pixilation in fast moving parts of TV or movies. The TV sound is great and the surround sound is even better!!!!! I would highly recommend this TV for anyone, it would have been nice for
