I bought this camera for my little sister; her first one. I decided to give it a try since I was considering a Samsung anyways. I have owned an HP camera and more recently a Sony Cybershot ;P This camera kicks both to the curve!
Let me simply cut to the chase:
-I've always had a tough time finding a camera that takes really good pictures in REALLY BAD lighting, & THIS ONE DOES IT VERY WELL.
-It's small with a nice color.
-I rated features 4/5 because I'm yet to mess around with that part of it. It takes a little while to save the pictures as you take them but that's not a big deal if you consider the fact that you're bound to end up with a decent picture.
-The pictures look smooth and non-grainy (I can't say the same for pictures taken with my Sony Cybershot)

I love this camera. Just bought it after my sister broke mine unexpectingly. It is small a little to small for my liking bt for some people thts a +. Lol. The camera features are great, there is a child mode i luv. There is also a beauty mode, where it retouches the skin.

This is an excellent little camera. I had no idea Samsung even made cameras, but they seem to make good ones! I set out last week to find an inexpensive but good quality camera. It had to have at least 8 megapixels, an SD slot, and a rechargeable battery. I saw this one at best buy & the color is what attracted me first- it is the PRETTIEST shade of turquoise with dark chrome accents(it also comes in silver & pink). I picked it up, turned it on, and fell in love instantly. This camera has everything. I'm no 'photographer' or anything, andI've only had 2 or 3 other cameras, but this is a darn good one. The pics are excellent, and so are the videos. There are a ton of options, and they're all easy to figure out. I have yet to crack open the manual, its so easy to use. The picture mode wheel is very convenient, it takes only seconds to switch from taking snapshots to recording video to recording memos, etc. It also takes voice memos. I haven't owned a camera in many years, much less a digital one, but I have used several at my job. I selected this one because of good reviews and I had gift certificates to use up. It has lots of features, which is both a positive and a negative for me. I was disappointed that the main manual was on CD, which my computer also refused to run. There is a paper quick start manual and I was able to transfer the CD contents to my computer. At 10MP, the camera will only hold 3 or 4 photos without a memory card. I lowered it to 5MP, but it will still only hold 8 photos. For now, the camera is staying at my house, but I will have to get a memory card if I want to take it anywhere.

In the instruction manual, the instructions for connecting the USB cable for charging the battery and downloading the photos to your computer are WRONG. But after you ignore the instructions, it’s easy to use. In addition, in spite of being very long, the instruction manual doesn’t have some of the information needed.

I've had my camera since X-mas and I love it! I'm a picture person, my camera goes everywhere with me. I've bang it on hard surfaces a couple times and have had no trouble with it. My friend even dropped it TWICE in the gravel/concrete alley way during mardi gras and you can't even tell, there's not a scratch on it! I love the beauty setting, it makes your skin flawless! Also I always get comments on the ice blue color. Just be aware...this camera does not come with much memory without the SD card, so make sure you get one. Enjoy!!!

inside the actual samsung box was a cable that did not fit the camera, and had a different part number than what was specified in the user guide (see attached photo)
since samsung cameras use the same cable as the AC adapter and usb connection, this will eventually be a brick once the initial battery charge is depleted.
BUT: the camera does take sharp pictures.

There is a review here talking trash about this camera and its obvious it cant be a real review because this camera been in the market for less than a year. The person probably did have another model but not this one. Anyways , giving a bad review because of mechanical problems after the one year manufacturer expires is kinda unacceptable. Sony make great quality products,my old Sony Cybershot T-20 8.1mp still kicking after 2 years taking over 1 thousand pictures. Anyways about the camera , this camera is very solid and very fun to have . It has great features like paranoma feature which you can basically take an extra wide picture of the whole horizon ,is like taking 4 pictures and attaching them all to make one. It has 720p hd recording and low light exmor picture feature to take pictures at night . I've had this camera for about a week. The pictures are extremely clear and in the "smart" setting, they always seem to come out with perfect lighting. Even pictures in the dark are very clear. I like that this camera is pretty easy to use right out of the box and the price was reasonable, $109.00. I also love the video feature and now download all my pics and videos to my computer and facebook, my space with no problem! Also, it's much easier to transfer the pics to my "my pictures" folder on my computer rather than transferring from the camera software program like my Kodak camera. It saves a lot of time!! Get this camera, it's definitely worth it!!

If you need a basic, easy to use, re-chargeable battery Camera this is it. If you are tired of haveing to carry extra batteries this is the Camera to get, Did I mention the Great Price Too..

II use my camera daily and love it. I've tried looking elsewhere but a lot of the other companies were more expensive. My advice is to shop around and compare prices. I think BestBuy has the best prices.

I got his camera for christmas and from the beginning I had problems. First, It wouldn't store pictures even though I had an SD card in it, and it came out of the box with part of it broken. I took it back to Best Buy and they said something was definitely wrong with it, and they gave me a new one. This one worked great until I started to try to take videos with it. Half the time it would stop before I even pressed the button and the whole camera would freeze, and I couldnt even turn it off! I had to take the battery out and put it back in, which cant be good for the camera. The only thing that was good about this camera was the design, its really good picture quality, and the beauty mode.

Sony finally made a breakthrough in making a great point-and-shoot camera with the TX1. Great features, simple and easy to use settings. Great even in low lighted area.

Great Camera, but recently it start acting crazy, it freeze when i take pics, some times it does not turn on even I charge it all night.
I contacted Samsung they told me to send the camera to get it fix. I hope they do.

This camera is a handy size and versatile. I carry it in my purse all of the time. I love that I can hook it up to any computer-don't have to download software first. I also love that I can hook it up to my T.V.; and the camera's screen is fairly big, too. I should note that the AV cable does not come with the camera. You can purchase it separately at Best Buy for around $20 (approx. 6 ft. long)or you can purchase a much shorter cable thru Samsung. Samsung charged roughly $9 for shipping and handling, coming to roughly $20 for the cable with S & H. You can edit your pictures on the camera. I believe you can also use the camera as a camcorder. This is my first digital camera. Consumer Reports (January 2010?) recommended it, among others. Not all of the cameras they recommended have an AV port to connect it to a T.V. I paid less for this camera purchased thru Amazon than what it costs at Wal-Mart.

i had this camera for. 1 month and out if no where it frozze up on me....and all of a suden when i would try to turn the camra on it would go on than off and the lense would go in and out and turn off.was weird never happend to me with other cameras... i will never buy a samsung.

Bought this for my 11 yr old daughter. She takes great pix and has even made some videos with her friends. She obviously hasn't tried to use any extra features but for a point and shoot this camera takes great photos. It came as a package with an extra battery, case, and 4g memory. camera alone $120. As a bundle $160.

This camera is really good for its price range. Though it looks cheaply made and doesn't look like the picture. It surprisingly takes really good pictures, but takes forever to load so you can take another. It fits in your pocket and good for traveling. I would say its more of a first time camera( good for your first camera).

I just bought a Casio camera that is in this same category about 2 years ago but recently broke it by dropping it. I've always wanted a Sony so decided to try it. I am blown away!! I couldn't be more satisfied. This thing is awesome!! It is way different than my Casio, most likely because of the years that have gone by but the touch screen, smile detector and panoramic capture are my favorite!! The pictures look great and I absolutely love this camera!!!

This camera is perfect for someone who needs a easyily manageble device. It take very good quality photos and is very easy ti handle and manuver. The screen is big and very clear and high-def. This is the best camera I have ever had and I have gone through many!! I recomend this product 100%. :)
