Olympus Stylus 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Silver
I've had this camera for a little over two weeks. Bought it so that i can take underwater images when in Hawaii. Haven't tried out the waterproof aspect yet, but can go ahead and give some insight into the quality of its normal pics.

10 mp camera, but is limited to 3 mp images when shooting on some of the preset modes (scenes) - specifically candlelight images and other night-time image settings. If you don't use the scene options, your images can be maxed at the 10 mp setting. Night images using scene (candlelight) were pretty grainy, so i'd avoid using that setting.

Normal daytime images were good. Crisp and clear. From power to first image - is really quick. However, taking one image at 10 mp causes a delay before you can take the next image of ~2 seconds. Unless you use the burst mode. 3-shot burst allows for 10 mp images, whereas the super 12 shot mode caps it again at 3 mp images.

People have written that the lcd screen is easy to see in any light from any angle.

Olympus Stylus 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
I really wanted to love this camera. It has everything I wanted: rugged, compact, waterproof, and takes great pictures. I currently have a Panasonic Lumix TZ-5, and a the Panasonic waterproof casing for it, and never used this combo with the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW around!

It was so easy to carry the Stylus 1030 SW around on the pool/beach and into the water. It starts up almost immediately upon pressing the power button so I never missed a shot. I loved that it was shock-proof so I didn't have to mentally treat it with kid gloves, and there are no protrusions on the camera to worry about breaking.

Now the bad news. After the first time going into the pool for about 3 feet underwater, the camera seems to be adversely affected. I was extra careful and followed the directions regarding checking the seals for foreign objects that may cause leaks, and they were properly closed.

I noticed that the videos taken (maybe from this point on, maybe always had this problem) had a smudge about

Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Silver)
If you want more bang for your buck, get the Canon EOS Rebel XSi instead of the Rebel XS. The XS is the "little brother" of the XSi which means they are both almost the same camera, but the XSi has more to offer than the XS. At the time of this writing, Amazon.com is currently selling the XSi for the same price as the XS! You would be foolish to buy the XS now instead of the XSi, especially on the fact that the XSi was released not long ago in April 2008. In other words, you have two very similar models that were both released in 2008, just four months apart, but yet the XSi has more capabilities and features than the XS and costs the same. The XS is just a trimmed-down version of the XSi.

Here are the notable similarities of the Rebel XSi and the Rebel XS:
* Both have practically the same large single-plate CMOS sensor and the Digic III Image Processor, except the XSi is 12.2MP while the XS is only 10.1MP (megapixels).
* Both have the Canon EOS Integrated Cleaning System.
* Both can be

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 Digital Camera - Black-10.1-Megapixel Compact Digital
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10K 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black)

I have only had this camera for a few days but it has exceeded all expectations. Before this my favorite still camera was another Panasonic, the 8 Meg but this one is a third the size is 10 Mp and has all of the features of the bigger camera. With the Panasonic HD video camera you can carry High quality camera gear that used to require a wheeled cart in your pockets. Read the tech reviews for the details but give this camera a lot of thought. I find no downside to it at all.

Olympus Stylus 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Blue
I forgot my camera for my son's graduation for college. We had a video camera, but I wanted a point and shoot. I've owned older Stylus models before and never had a complaint, so when I saw this with 10 megapixils and a 7x optical zoom, I knew it was mine.

As with any camera you have to discover all the features. One that I loved during the graduation was a continuous shooting mode. I have about 20 or 30 photos of him walking across the stage getting his diploma. With those kind of shots you never seem to time the best shot right, but now you don't have to. You get them all and can pick out the best of the bunch. That mode did use up alot of the battery though.

Battery life in general has been great, I don't have to recharge every 2 seconds, and I can pick up my camera after not using it for a couple of weeks and there is still "juice".

Overall very happy.

Nikon Coolpix 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
Reading helpful reviews on Amazon guided me to expect the best of this camera and to avoid non sharp images. The camera is complicated, so I have taken a lot of time to learn it, and have taken few pictures. In my first set, taken of a garden in early morning, but blazing sun have been decent. Sharp, and pleasant. More later. I have now 3 Nikons, D300, D80, and P80. Got this camera for portability. There is transfer from the DSLRs to this one.

Nikon Coolpix 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
I bought this camera last week in preparation of a trip later this month. As a very amateur user, I listed my priorities in the order of automatic picture quality, durability, image stabilization, and rechargeable battery.

I have had a 6M Coolpix L1 for two years. It takes good pitures, but is really slow. I have got the impression that Canon is the top player in small cameras, so I first looked at the most populater Canon SD, A, and S series. I crossed A and S out because they all use AA batteries, and there are reviews concerning battery life. SD series look really cute. They are known to have great performance and take great pictures. But there are negative reviews about lens error and breaking down easily. I decided a SD 1100 or 870 with an extended warranty might do. Unfortunately, I found neither of them in my local stores with attractive prices. The regular price plus a two or three year warranty wouldn't make you feel comfortable with such a tiny camera.

I also did research on

Sony DSC-W170 Cyber-shot® 10-Megapixel Digital Camera - Silver
My last camera was a Canon, and I was never satisfied of indoor shots (usually of my cats). I should also note I have fluorescent lighting, that added to the problem. I reviewed Fuji, Panasonic, Canon, Olympus, and Sony cameras before making this purchase. The first two pictures I took when I got home almost blew me away. The sun was going down, and all the lights were off in the house, and the high ISO setting and Easy setting was still turning out some really nice pictures. You need a tripod for the twilight setting, but other that that, this camera is *awesome* for indoor shots.

EasyShare Z1012 IS Digital Camera, 10.1 Megapixel, 12x Optical Zoom, 2.5" LCD Display, Optical Image Stabilization, Smart Capture Mode, High Sensitivity (ISO 6400), Capture HD Video & Picture
This is a great camera for the price and the pictures are extremely clear. The Z1012 is my third Kodak camera and I have had nothing but great luck with them. Definitely recommend.

Nikon Coolpix 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
While waiting for the SLRs to come down, I chose this nifty little point and shooter that does much more. I'm far from an expert but the quality of the photos is very good and I love the in-camera editing and D-lighting options.

You must read the manual and familiarize yourself with the many functions if you want to get creative and experiment but you can also take it out of the box, charge the battery for two hours, set it to automatic and just click away! The image quality really is quite good.

I also purchased the Sandisk 4GB memory card as advised by other reviewers and I'm glad I did- you can store over 1000 photos on it. I recommend it as well.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20 Digital Camera - Silver-10.1-Megapixel Compact Digital
I use a DSLR when I want great photos, and a "snapper" when pocket-size portability for travel and for fun are more important. My excellent, old Casio "snapper" was 2-1/2 years old, without image stabilization like my DSLR, so it was time for a new one. I seriously looked-at, tried-out, and read all the literature and reviews I could lay my hands-on for four models retailing under $240 (in July 2008): Nikon CoolPix S600, Canon PowerShot SD850, Casio Exilim EX-Z200, and this Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20. Each of these cameras has their own virtues and their own faults.

I do not have the space to review all four cameras properly and mention each of their good points, so I will limit this to mostly a couple of downside issues I saw in each:

** CoolPix: This snapper probably would get my vote for best overall images, HOWEVER, it has a very annoying - and for me, hard-to-use -spin/scroll-wheel control, is slowest to focus, slowest to record image, has ill designed internal software menus, manual

Samsung L200 10-Megapixel Digital Camera - Silver
This camera is easy to use with all the special features of a much more expensive camera. It takes videos with sound that you can instantly play back. With a 4GB memory card you can take up to 800 super fine 10mp pictures. It is very slim and easily fits in a pocket. The software program was simple to install on my computer; I then plugged in the camera and uploaded the pictures. It took wonderful close ups of my kids. I love the pictures you can take in a series. It took super scenic pictures on our hike and great pictures of fireworks.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35 Digital Camera - Silver-10.1MP Silver Digital Camera
This is a great camera for everyday use, family, vacation, etc. It is very easy to use in auto mode and does have advance modes for manual shooting. The two thinkgs I like the most are 1) The 'Mode Wheel' is protected so that when you put the camera in and out of your pocket, it doesn't change the shooting mode. This may not sound like a big deal, but my last camera I ruined or missed many shots because when a I took the camera out it was in the incorrect mode. 2) This camera is FAST. When you point and shoot the auto focus and exposure work very fast with minimal delay from the time you push the button until the picture shoots.
The only kind of bad thing is it is last years model and it was kind of tough to find a spare battery at local stores, but I did find one online.

Kodak EasyShare 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
Having owned digital cameras for nearly 10 years now, I'm no stranger to them. I currently own a somewhat old Sony 5mp "prosumer" camera (which still takes very nice photos) and an 8mp Canon DSLR. Since the latter weighs nearly 4 lb. with my favorite lens on it and the former is not exactly compact either, I went shopping for a reasonably good quality and not too expensive pocket camera. After reading some reviews I was interested in a Fujifilm J10, which while inexpensive seemed pretty decent and got good marks for image quality. I treked down to a local Best Buy to check it out. While the J10 does look like a very nice camera for the money, I was not quite enthused about what I perceived as a sluggish response, and the camera buttons seemed a bit clunky. I decided while I was there to look around at other brands and models while I was there. That was when the Kodak M1033 caught my eye. I thought it was a very attractive looking camera. Part of this was due to the fact that it had little

Canon EOS-1D Mark III 10 Megapixel SLR Digital Camera - Body Only
I have been a loyal Canon user for many years. I own a 30D and the MarkIIID. The Mark IIID was sent back for the recall to address the AF. The work they did to it negatively effected the color balance. It was sent back to the factory. The factory then lost my camera (having shipped it with the wrong FEDEX number). They sent another Mark III. It had back focus problems. In the meantime, another camera was sent as a loaner. It was proudly pronounced in tip top shape and was new. It arrived half packed, used, dirty sensor and dirty contacts for the lens. The AF didn't work. Canon believes that they didn't do anything wrong. Customer Service Rep. Elizabeth Wood responded with a litany of liability-speak but bottom line, they would only send another camera. The MarkIII has significant AF problems, even with the firmware upgrade. Save yourself the stress, don't buy Canon

Nikon Coolpix 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
I was very impressed about this camera for following:
- specifications on paper
- body, size, weight and style
- 18x wide angle zoom lens
- battery and SD card choice/performance

Following disappointed me:
- Auto/Scene mode NOT much usable in different lighting scenarios, jumps to ISO 400+ and pics turn grainy
- Other modes including manual were usable, but did NOT get consistent results
- Program mode was most usable
- Auto focus not fast enough, terrible in indoor/low light
- LCD is terrible, compared to canons'
- Viewfinder is dull but I managed with it
- Pictures turned out grainy in most occasions, unless I fudge settings
- VR is NOT much of a help in close-ups, and when used with non-auto modes. Only useful on super zoom situations.

I played with it for about a week and took over 100 pics. Most of them were grainy as I took more indoor. Outdoor show graininess when enlarged. I compared quality with Canon S5 IS with pictures taken in the same place and lighting - P80 picture quality

Nikon Coolpix 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Black
First off let me say
I bought this camera with out touching one on faith it would be good and I previously have used 35MM and had a Canon powershot A-95 Excellent little Camera but it didn't do as much as I wanted I ordered the P80 , an Extra battery and a 4 gig card for it got it in about a week(Slow) have had the camera about 6 weeks and I am very pleased with it, it takes excellent pictures it will do more than I can tell it too, I'm still learning the menus. If you set the camera correctly it will take an excellent shot, if you try to make it do something you have not set it to do then you will get a terrible photo but it is not the camera's fault its yours! If you read the manual and follow what it tells you as you learn it will take an excellent picture if you try it by the seat of your pants you will loose several shots but you will figure it out and eventually you will be happy with it. I have taken almost 900 photo with it is 6 weeks and lost maybe 15 not a total loss but blurry

Olympus Stylus 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Silver
This camera is amazing! I can take great videos with the XD M+ memory card, the picture quality is outstanding, you just have to make sure you put it in the right mode, you don't even have to open the manual, the camera tells you everything about each mode. I went on a trip and blew up certain pictures to 8x11 and everyone that comes over thinks they are professional! This camera is worth the money, if you are looking, you've gotta get it!

Pentax Optio W60 Underwater 10 Megapixel Digital Camera - Blue
I purchased the W60 primarily on the strength of it being a waterproof camera with 720p HD video. I have two Pentax DSLR's and generally like the brand.

The camera itself is pretty terrific, with a slew of features (face/smile detection, audio recorder, waterproof) that are nicely customizable. Still image quality is good, especially if you limit the Auto ISO to 50-400 to manage the noise. The camera is quick to focus, and the flash seems powerful enough. I've printed out a few of the images on a Canon Pro9000 printer and they look good.

Note, the HD video is 15 fps, which makes it stutter. It'll work in a pinch for HD filmmakers who always want an HD device in their pocket, but indoors, it can be grainy and has artifacts. If you actually want sound on your video, you MUST disable the AF, as it's always making a clicking noise while you're shooting. So, either you forget about having decent audio or you set the camera to manual, infinity or "pan" focus prior to hitting "record."
