It took me many months before I decided to purchase this camera. There are so many reviews, both positive and negative, that it was almost confusing. This camera is really for the individual that wants to be able to take both video and still photography. Is this the best video camera? No. Is it the best still camera? No. Is it the best combo camera? Without a doubt. It offers great versatility and quality in a compact, mobile package.
First let me say that I have shot with a DSLR for years. I love still photography and never thought about going back to point and shoot after owning a Canon Digital Rebel and now a Canon 40D. But over time I wanted something smaller that I could fit in my pocket and take with me to many locations where a DSLR is just too prohibitive. The Canon TX1 was the one for me.
This camera is a just a little wider than some of the small profile Powershot cameras, but it fits very well into the pocket of your pants. It is sturdy and the lens and LCD screen

I researched a lot before buying this product. I found good reviews but very few people have bought the product. But I was not disappointed after buying this product. The sound quality is great and noise cancellation feature is great as well. I like the software its as simple as dropping the files in the folder.
While listening to songs I could hear many new sounds in the song which i did not know existed

Having owned and used this player for several months, here's my Pro/Con list:
Pros:
1. Excellent build quality. The face/screen is made of a much tougher material than the iPod, and doesn't scratch easily.
2. Excellent interface. Intuitive and simple.
3. Excellent screen quality; this player will run video at 320x240 30fps. Screen is sharp, bright.
4. Excellent sound quality (but see below). Sony sound enhancements for the most part work very well, and produce the best sound I've ever heard from any digital audio player (DAP).
5. Very good radio feature.
6. Unique (to me) "year-shuffle" feature...allows you to shuffle tracks within a year, selected at random. Fun to watch.
7. Works well with WMP11. Can also drag/drop files.
8. Exceptional battery life. Advertised at 33 hours for music, and hits it for the most part.
Cons:
1. Overly aggressive volume leveler function produces audible artifacts when engaged. Depending on material, audio will sound muffled/uneven/warbling.

I have been watching Mpeg-4 cameras to see if they could become usuable. So far, the stock AVCHD cameras have provided images that were so compressed all they were good for were shoot and display; editing the video was an utter pain. The artifacting made the contrast too hard, and the standard AVCHD file was decidedly unstandard with the streams unmuxed and the framerates inconsistent. Lotsa luck trying to get QuickTime compliant apps like Final Cut to deal with the video.
The Samsung SC-HMX20 delivers something new: an H264 mpeg-4 file that is not so highly compressed (the 1080p files have a 14.85 mbit/sec bandwidth) and the mpeg wrapper file is fully QuickTime compliant so editing is not a problem. The images aren't perfect (there's still artifacting and banding where colors and contrasts converge), but its head and shoulders above any other AVCHD camera. The 1080p image is quite handsome, but sometimes doesn't handle fast motion so well. The camera claims to shoot in 1080i, but

I don't have much time for this initial report, but let's set a few things straight:
1/ I uses H.264 format with an MP4 wrapper.
2/ When I look at it on my HD monitor I am astounded by the picture as compared with my XDCAM. It's not the same but I can intercut with it for a number of applications. AVHCD is too compressed. It seems everyone but Samsung has gone to AVHCD for the $1000 market.
2/ The swivel grip works really well for running low to the ground.
3/ It has an external mic jack.
4/ It doesn't have a Lanc jack, like all the other non-HDV tape based options.
5/ It works beautifully with my FCP 6.0 app, it's quicktime.
Gotta go.

I have had this player for about a month and I am very happy.
I have upgraded from the NWZ-818. I do miss the split headphone cable extension- was perfect for the armband case in the gym and my breast jacket pocket. I also miss the chrome/metal case that had a more solid feel than this matte plastic. I dont like the 3.5 jack on top of the player. The cord gets in the way and it feels upside-down in my hand, and would have been better on the bottom.
Tried to buy from amazon, waited a week, no shipment, so I canceled the order. Had to go with Sonystyle. I got the engraving and still took about 10 days to ship.
I upgraded primarily for the FM Radio. BUT The sound quality on this player is so crystal clear that I dont like to listen to the radio on it. Any hiss, imperfection, or interference comes right through and is very annoying. Compared to the downloaded digital audio- FM radio sounds like crap.
Then I was pleasantly suprised by the sound.

I bought this player for my 14 year-old daughter. It seemed to be an excellent option. The product is great looking, the sound is fine, etc. However, 4 months later the product simply "blacked out". It just did not turn on, so it became useless. When we called Samsung's service center, they asked for the serial number in order to repair it. Unfortunately the serial number was printed on a small paper label that was on the back of the player, and at some point in time it must have fallen off. Now the product will not be serviced by Samsung, and our money will go down the drain.

I should preface this review by saying that I don't own an HMX20, but I've spent a lot of time with one to decide if I should and I wanted to share my experiences. What it comes down to, in my opinion, is that this camcorder is attempting to do a lot of things that just aren't possible yet in its form-factor. It has some really neat features, but when all is said and done if they aren't practically useful and its functionality as a video recorder doesn't do quite the job of its competitors it just isn't worth buying. Unless you're thinking about buying the Panasonic HDC-SD9 for some reason, I would go with several other cameras before this one.
That said, there are some cool things. The slow motion feature is very good and works very well. The problem is that if you're buying a 1080p camcorder, chances are you actually care about having your video in high definition. The slow motion video's resolution is less than that of standard definition video, so you can't really use it for

I do not have much experience with reviewing but decided to give some of thoughts on the Sansa e280 v2.
I have owned the e280 for about a month and it has not given me any problems at all. Maybe the reason is that I do all my album creating via WMP11 and take the time to carefully edit the ID3 tags to make sure everything is correct. Then it is a simple matter of dragging and dropping folders from my computer's hard drive to the Sansa using Windows Explorer.
My music preferences are classical and easy listening. I have loaded complete operas, symphonies, musicals, etc. to the e280 and its interface is ideal. I simply select Album and choose my selection.
The earbuds which came with the unit are excellent but I purchased a pair of Sonys as a spare which are even better.
My only complaint is that I wish it had a bit more volume headroom. On some low-recorded classical tracks, it is just loud enough at max with the 16 ohm earbuds. With over-the-ear 32 ohm headphones I just cannot enjoy

I tried an Apple iPod first. If you need FM radio for the machines in the gym, Apple requires you to buy a $50 adapter and to have another three feet of cord hanging off you. The Zune website for music download works just like itunes. But, unlike itunes, your music downloads as MP3 files which can be played by any player in the world. In order to download MP3 files from itunes, you have to buy itunes plus music which is less than 25% of the itunes inventory - not 10% like the Zune Marketplace. While we have not used the wireless sharing feature yet, we have used the wireless sync! This is great, my wife keeps her cell phone and Zune plugged-in near the door and syncs her Zune without going to where the PC is located in the house! The 8 GB Zune cost about the same as the 4 GB ipod - actually $10 less - but you get twice the storage! And the FM radio! And the wieless sync! The second generation Zune is small like the iPod Nano! We bought this Zune refurbished for 70% of retail

The zune works and sounds great. I purchased 2 one for my wife and one for myself. I love the zune to zune sharing and zune to zune messaging. The fm radio is a huge plus as well as zune games which should be released shortly. I've tried some of the beta games and zune to zune pong is fun. That's right you'll be able to play multiplayer games with other zune players.
The zune software (I'm running it on Vista which is awesome) is beautiful and has worked flawlessly so far. The only problem I had was with the install. I would get "install failed", which was due to my antivirus software blocking access to the internet.
I haven't used zune marketplace. I have only transfered my existing cds, which is a breeze.
I'll be getting 2 more, one for each of my children.
You won't be diappointed

This was my third iAudio player. It is very functional and ideal as an MP3 Player/Voice Recorder.
I have had problems with the sensitivity of the rw and ff buttons. The player often skips back when I'm trying to rewind, (press and hold vs click of the button). A recent firmware update seemed to help this situation slightly, but it is still an aggravating annoyance. This may even involve a warranty repair, but thusfar I've decided to live with it.
The sound is excellent, and there are a number of settings to allow a great deal of customization in that regard.
The voice recorder is also excellent. The storage capacity is unbelievable in that regard and the quality of recordings has been great. I'd highly recommend the player for students or others with a need for this function.
The glossy black finish gathers visible smudges and finger prints easily, but this is likely to be expected with such a finish.
The player is very similar in size to the 2nd Gen Ipod nano, and fits well

While I really like my Sony Walkman MP3 player so far, I am very disappointed in the number of songs the player is capable of holding. Based on the Amazon description and some of the product reviews, I thought that 4 GB of space would last me awhile since all I use the player for is listening to songs while I work out - no videos, no pics. So I bought the player yesterday, and I have used almost all the space on about 560 songs. I am resyncing my device right now to convert all the music files to an 128 kbps format, but I don't think I'll even get close to putting 1,000 songs on this.
I should have checked the Sony site first which says that best case scenario is 925 songs if they are 3 min long 128 kbps MP3s - which is still only 1/2 the songs Amazon claims that the player holds. If I had known all this, I would have forked out the extra $50 for an 8 GB player.
So while the player is fine, just be aware that the capacity is not what it claims to be.

Defective shortly after warranty. Wrote one review after opening it....loved it. 4 mos later it doesn't work at all.. $90 to refurbish. Sony admitted to continually having products with this model.

this one is a keeper for me. everything is just great in this player. it's my first one and I found it very easy to use, even without reading the manual, file transfer is by drag and drop in windows media 11, very intuitive and super fast. the sound is superb, and you have various enhancing options, starting with an equalizer. functions and menu are easy and the upper right button offers contextualized options. the earphones come with 3 sets of earbuds, i found them very ligth and comfortable, beeing able to use them for three straight hours with no discomfort. and the noise cancelling feat works just great. highly recommendable. keep in mind, though, if you have a very large music colection, that 8 gb may not be enough for you.

I have been very happy with this product. The interface is much simpler than the ipod. I really like the fact that you can make your own background from personal pictures, etc. The touch pad is very easy to use and makes scrolling through data a breeze.
I only have a couple complaints about it. One is the fact that it doesn't support some formats for audio and video. I have had to use a third party software to convert the files to compatible formats. The Zune software is easy to use, but it doesn't do a very good job of ripping music and retrieving data for the cd.
Other than those couple complaints, I have loved the zune.

I've used several iPods (2nd-3rd gen), I've borrowed my friend's iPod nanos, and I have used the first Zune (30GB). So I expected a lot from this little device.
Installation of the Zune software was a lot easier than I remembered it with the first generation Zune. Getting everything setup took around 3 minutes. Very easy!
Getting my music to the Zune took a little longer. The Zune marketplace did not allow me to easily copy Windows Mediaplayer playlists or copy/paste folders to specific playlists.
The sound is perfect... I have a set of Grado-60 headphones and Ultimate Ears fi-5 EBs. No complaints on the sound. The volume is plenty loud - I can hear everything nicely at 6 in a quiet room and 10-12 in a car doing 70mph.
The main reason I got the Zune 2nd gen was the podcasts. It is everything I dreamed of... CNN, The Economist, NPR - ALL automatically downloads to my Zune everyday and old podcasts are automatically removed. All I have to do is plug it in and it goes to work! I've got

Yay Sony! I very much enjoy this new player. It is actually quite compact, very nicely pocketable. Most impresed with the sound quality and battery life! Have had it on for half the day and battery bar still shows full. This player operates so smoothly and fast! Amazing how quickly this player wakes up/powers on and is ready t go! Beautiful screen and I set it to horizontal orientation for more enjoyable viewing. I was easily able to use this with Rhapsody service too. FM radio & reception works nicely as well.
Also wanted to note that I was using a Creative Zen V Plus and this thing is way better. For some reason seems that I was only getting a few hours before battery was running low...very annoying. Sony player wakes from sleep and/or powers up so fast where waiting for my Zen V Plus seemed to take forever. Powers my audio in aux line and speakers with much better sound quality than the Zen V Plus. Very great quality feel to Sony player compared to lightweight plastic feel to

I picked this up after taking a look at different simple flash based mp3 players. My concerns were mostly cost and software related. I did not want a player which relied on bloated software or poorly designed software. I could live with less elegant navigation if the transfer of music and files did not require clunky software. This Sony Walkman fulfills the criteria and a bit more.
Pros:
1. Drag and drop! Music and videos may be added without software, just drag the files to corresponding folders
2. Works with Windows Media Player 11, it syncs very easily (ability to make playlists easily)
3. Simple user interface, buttons are named properly, operates very smoothly
Cons:
1. Display is plastic, not glass, will scratch very easily
2. Case is completely plastic
The Cons definitely weigh less than pros. It's a good buy for about $100. I don't have an opinion on the sound quality, music sounds best when paired with better headphones. The stock headphones are white for this model, anticipate
