I have never used one of these things, and even I was able to upload album after album. It just loads anything that I have stored in the library of the Windows Media player. It came with software of some sort, but it wasn't necessary to load it. It is easy to use, and it holds a lot more music than I would have expected. I am very glad that I bought it.

Since Amazon.com lets us only rate in whole-number amount of stars, I decided to round it up to 4. I absolutely love the interface, much more than that of my iPod. However, there are flaws that make me wonder what Microsoft is thinking!
PROS:
1. Aesthetic interface of firmware
- Certainly much better than that of iPod. Face it, iPod firmware ain't that pretty.
2. Vertical and horizontal scrolling, rather than clockwise and C/W.
- It just makes more sense this way. Not only do you have an option to move both up and down as well as sideways, but also, seriously, who on earth came up with the idea that Clockwise = move down, C/W = move up???!!
3. Wireless Sync'ing
- Okay, I never got to use this feature because I am too lazy to set up a network for my computer and such. But if it did work, it would be great to be able to sync without clogging up another USB port.
4. FM radio
- I also didn't get to make good use of this feature because it wouldn't get the stations I usually listen to (95.9,

this Sony Walkman has noise canceling mechanism built into the player. For what it's worth it does an adequate job. It probably won't do the job those expensive noise-canceling headphones can do, but it is in my opinion sufficient.
My experience in reading reviews were best if I arrange it in points rather than narratives. So I will do that here.
Strength:
1. it has outstanding sound quality. It is not that outstanding right out of the box, however. You have to tweak and toggle some settings. You have to turn on bass features and play with equalizers. I had every single version of iPods and the only iPod that comes close (but not quite) to the sound quality of this is first generation iPod shuffle. It has amazingly clean bass. The earbud that comes with the player is miles better than iPod earbuds. You usually have to spend $40-$50 for this type of earbud.
2. I actually like the size of this player over iPod nano because it is easier on my hand to grab. iPod nano was too thin and it

This refurbished Sansa came with earphones, a computer charger, and a media converter cd...Everything has worked well and the color and screen quality are excellent. The price was REALLY good for an 8GB because i had bought my old Sansa e240 lil monster for around $70 and it was only a 1GB brand new, it still works after 2 years, but i needed an upgrade. This mp3 player displays videos with good picture quality...it is a small screen, but the graphics don't freeze up or show the tiny "grids"....The player collects dust easily and the metal backing shows oily spots from holding it too long, so i would suggest having a cover to protect it from scratches and having to be wiped clean after every use. It is a really cute device to carry around, my brothers say it looks like a phone. The black is sleek and it is just soooooo awesome! I personally Love Sansas so i have vowed to never buy an Ipod. They are so much simpler to convert videos and photos (which have impressive display quality also)

Product is compact which is great. Battery holds a good charge and lots of songs. I misjudged however and i should have ordered a larger Gb. But I have almost 2000 songs on the MP3.

I have an Ipod Nano, which I was very happy with. But, I always thought the audio quality wasn't quite that good. I also wanted an FM Tuner. I have to say the Sony absolutely blows the Nano away when it comes to audio quality. I really didn't realize what I was missing! As I said, I liked the Nano, but I would strongly recommend the Sony instead.

This is my first MP3 player. It's easy to use and sounds great. I like the noise cancelling feature. That's probably what most influenced me to buy this. I mostly have been using it on the treadmill and when I mow the lawn. The noise cancelling headphones completely block out the sound of the treadmill. Very nice. Also, this is the only music player I've ever been able to hear while mowing the lawn. While the noise cancelling headphones don't completely block out the sound of the lawn mower, they do cut it out enough so that I can hear the music without having to crank the thing up too loud.
I've got three minor beefs: I don't like the design of the headphones. Great functionality, but having the wire that goes to your left ear so much shorter than the wire that goes to your right ear can be irritating. If I've got the player down in my pocket, sometimes turning my head to the right will cause the plug to be pulled out of my left ear. Secondly, I agree with an earlier reviewer

My wife had washed my original mp3 player when I had left it in my pocket of my pullover. It was a 2gb Sansa and had been working fine. I was hesitant in buying a refurbished item but everything works great, I have a mp3 that is 4x bigger that my previous mp3 player and it was about $50 dollars cheaper than the the prior. I would highly recommend this product to others. This mp3 does everything that it is suppose to do and does it well.

Purchased the Zune for my wife as a gift - has worked perfectly and she is delighted. It plays multiple formats, copying files to it is very very easy, it is very durable and navigation is intuitive. I would recommend this to anyone shopping for an entry music/video device.

Forget spending more for an iPod, this little player is awesome! Got this for my birthday and absolutely LOVE it! First of all, the sound quality is as wonderful as I would expect from Sony. The interface is easy to use for loading on songs and it took no time at all for me to learn to navigate the menus. I was worried about space but I have about 500 songs loaded with plenty of space left for more. I haven't had a problem at all with battery life, the manual says 33 hours and while I haven't kept track, I have gone a very long time without having to charge it up. The video screen is small but pictures come out crisp and clear and videos look great! All in all I think my husband made a great choice!
Just a few minor complaints. 1. I wish the USB connector was the same as the one used by my blackberry so I'd have one less cord to deal with. 2. The headphones that come with the unit have great sound quality but are really uncomfortable. 3. Wish that there were more accessories for

This is the worse mp3 player I have ever had. I received this as a gift and only had it for a year. In that year I had to call support every time I had deleted songs, and they could never fix the problem long term. I have also sent it in and still had troubles. This mp3 player is more trouble then it is worth, I will never buy a sandisk product again.

We bought this to replace my daughter's 40gig iPod whose hard drive crashed after a year (wasted $250). The sansa has flash memory so there is no hard drive to crash. The sansa can record songs from the radio (ipod can't), she can use it to listen to electronic books from the library (ipod can't). Its a nice size unit that appears very durable and looks brand new, except for the "REFURB" stamped on the back. Its nice to be able to drag and drop music and not have to sync it on with a separate program. The music sounds great, the earbuds are a nice quality for being stock.
She was very happy to get this inexpensive replacement.

We have three of these in our home. They can be purchased for a lot less than list price. Expansion slots for micro sd cars make the storage capabilities virtually endless. The video quality is excellent, as well as the audio. Ease of operation makes it even possible for my old timer husband to listen to his favorite 60's rock bands, and my 10 year old daughter can navigate this with ease. If you are wanting a high quality device, without the outrageous price the 'popular' brand charges (You KNOW what brand I am talking about) this is the one you want. Much smaller and lightweight than it looks online. I have had the first one for over three years, and am getting ready to purchase a fourth one for my youngest daughter's birthday present, as she keeps taking mine !

I researched a lot before buying this product. I found good reviews but very few people have bought the product. But I was not disappointed after buying this product. The sound quality is great and noise cancellation feature is great as well. I like the software its as simple as dropping the files in the folder.
While listening to songs I could hear many new sounds in the song which i did not know existed

Having owned and used this player for several months, here's my Pro/Con list:
Pros:
1. Excellent build quality. The face/screen is made of a much tougher material than the iPod, and doesn't scratch easily.
2. Excellent interface. Intuitive and simple.
3. Excellent screen quality; this player will run video at 320x240 30fps. Screen is sharp, bright.
4. Excellent sound quality (but see below). Sony sound enhancements for the most part work very well, and produce the best sound I've ever heard from any digital audio player (DAP).
5. Very good radio feature.
6. Unique (to me) "year-shuffle" feature...allows you to shuffle tracks within a year, selected at random. Fun to watch.
7. Works well with WMP11. Can also drag/drop files.
8. Exceptional battery life. Advertised at 33 hours for music, and hits it for the most part.
Cons:
1. Overly aggressive volume leveler function produces audible artifacts when engaged. Depending on material, audio will sound muffled/uneven/warbling.

I have had this player for about a month and I am very happy.
I have upgraded from the NWZ-818. I do miss the split headphone cable extension- was perfect for the armband case in the gym and my breast jacket pocket. I also miss the chrome/metal case that had a more solid feel than this matte plastic. I dont like the 3.5 jack on top of the player. The cord gets in the way and it feels upside-down in my hand, and would have been better on the bottom.
Tried to buy from amazon, waited a week, no shipment, so I canceled the order. Had to go with Sonystyle. I got the engraving and still took about 10 days to ship.
I upgraded primarily for the FM Radio. BUT The sound quality on this player is so crystal clear that I dont like to listen to the radio on it. Any hiss, imperfection, or interference comes right through and is very annoying. Compared to the downloaded digital audio- FM radio sounds like crap.
Then I was pleasantly suprised by the sound.

I bought this player for my 14 year-old daughter. It seemed to be an excellent option. The product is great looking, the sound is fine, etc. However, 4 months later the product simply "blacked out". It just did not turn on, so it became useless. When we called Samsung's service center, they asked for the serial number in order to repair it. Unfortunately the serial number was printed on a small paper label that was on the back of the player, and at some point in time it must have fallen off. Now the product will not be serviced by Samsung, and our money will go down the drain.

I bought the YP-S5J AB specifically to play audiobooks that can be downloaded from the local library. This model was on a list the library made of devices that worked with their files, so it does work for this purpose sometimes...just not for me. I spent about three hours trying it various ways, downloading firmware, and double-checking with the library to see if I missed anything (The books played on my computer fine, so it wasn't a problem with downloading from the library). I would get the error message "It is not possible to transfer this file. Contact device maker for firmware update." I then spent half an hour on the Samsung Technical Support Line. The only thing they could tell me was to go to website and download any firmware updates, which I had already done (twice) so I am returning it. I also didn't like the design of the device with regard to its actual usage (turning on, selecting music, etc.) Using the push screen felt akward and I had to press the "buttons" multiple

I do not have much experience with reviewing but decided to give some of thoughts on the Sansa e280 v2.
I have owned the e280 for about a month and it has not given me any problems at all. Maybe the reason is that I do all my album creating via WMP11 and take the time to carefully edit the ID3 tags to make sure everything is correct. Then it is a simple matter of dragging and dropping folders from my computer's hard drive to the Sansa using Windows Explorer.
My music preferences are classical and easy listening. I have loaded complete operas, symphonies, musicals, etc. to the e280 and its interface is ideal. I simply select Album and choose my selection.
The earbuds which came with the unit are excellent but I purchased a pair of Sonys as a spare which are even better.
My only complaint is that I wish it had a bit more volume headroom. On some low-recorded classical tracks, it is just loud enough at max with the 16 ohm earbuds. With over-the-ear 32 ohm headphones I just cannot enjoy

I bought a Aim 2GB MP3 Player/ FM Tuner/ Voice Recorder from Overstock and I returned it the very next day I received it! I wouldn't be able to figure that thing out in a million years!
Then someone recommended I just get an Ipod, but an Ipod doesn't come with FM or voice recorder (and that is specifically what I wanted) ... So I took a chance and bought this Sansa e280. (I wanted to save some money and buy refurbished because I never had any problems with refurbished in the past)
Within 1hr of taking it out of the box I had already downloaded songs, listened to the radio and made a quick voice recording! It is so simple to use (even for someone in her mid 30's!) There was one small problem I was having, but I called tech support (TOLL FREE!) and they helped me right away. (Very professional and friendly support ... and FREE!)
In addition to the features I wanted it also has other features that I am so excited about. You can record from FM, you can download photos and short videos, you
