Forget spending more for an iPod, this little player is awesome! Got this for my birthday and absolutely LOVE it! First of all, the sound quality is as wonderful as I would expect from Sony. The interface is easy to use for loading on songs and it took no time at all for me to learn to navigate the menus. I was worried about space but I have about 500 songs loaded with plenty of space left for more. I haven't had a problem at all with battery life, the manual says 33 hours and while I haven't kept track, I have gone a very long time without having to charge it up. The video screen is small but pictures come out crisp and clear and videos look great! All in all I think my husband made a great choice!
Just a few minor complaints. 1. I wish the USB connector was the same as the one used by my blackberry so I'd have one less cord to deal with. 2. The headphones that come with the unit have great sound quality but are really uncomfortable. 3. Wish that there were more accessories for

I bought this player for my 14 year-old daughter. It seemed to be an excellent option. The product is great looking, the sound is fine, etc. However, 4 months later the product simply "blacked out". It just did not turn on, so it became useless. When we called Samsung's service center, they asked for the serial number in order to repair it. Unfortunately the serial number was printed on a small paper label that was on the back of the player, and at some point in time it must have fallen off. Now the product will not be serviced by Samsung, and our money will go down the drain.

I absolutely LOVE this MP3 ! I bought one for my daughter for christmas since she loves to listen to her music. It was extremely easier to use, and even a child under 10 can figure it out. Adding & deleting songs are a snap. I liked it so much, I bought a second one for myself. Highly recommend !

I have an ipod nano, but bought the black 2GB Sony for my husband for Christmas. I liked his so much, I bought the pink one for myself! It is way easier to load than the ipod - just drag n' drop - and plays many formats without having to convert song files (which you DO have to do with the ipod using the ipod software ~ and it took forever to do that on my pc). I am VERY pleased with this 2GB Sony, and at almost half the price of my nano, it is a great buy. I haven't used the nano since.

This player has it all! Better than the name-brand player in my opinion, because it includes radio--a feature that a certain seller of mp3 players will never include in their unit because they want to make you to buy music from their website, of course. This player plays windows media audio files in addition to MP3s, but not wma_pro files, so keep that in mind you windows media player version 10+ users. The unit does play video, not the greatest quality, only 11 frames per second, but only in a certain format, and there is a converter software included with the player, to convert (it can take much longer to convert the video than it does to watch the video...) from various formats to the format that is played on this unit. 2GB is great capacity when you are using 64kbps wma (equivalent to 4GB music in MP3 format). In addition to all these great features, it also records voice in a reduced bit wav format. Battery life is superb, easy to navigate, although the scrolling is a bit slow when

It keeps freezing up and now this time after trying to do a update on it, it is frozen up and won't clear up. I have taken the battery out for the night and this morning it is still stuck on "database refresh". Can't seem to get a good solution for this on going problem either. This has been going on for about a year now, but this time it has had it I guess and is ready for the trash. I would search other places for product review besides amazon before buying, because there is a whole lot of other people out there having the same problems with this and the other 200 series as well and customer service is poor. I will never spend money on a SanDisk product again.

The original player I get her (and returned because it was junk) had 2 headset jacks and I wish this had two as well (so she could share with her brother). She had an issue when the player software locked up and there is no way to power it down when that happens. There is no way to remove the battery so we had to wait for it to finaly die. That only happend once, right after she got it and I loaded a bunch of stuff on it. Other than that one issue that never happened again, she loves it!

I have the 4gb version, but this review applies to this player as well.
I listen to allot of books that I download from my library system using Overdrive, which uses protected wrm files. I was excited to see this player as a compatible one on the overdrive library website so purchased it.
Everything the reviewers say about this player, the battery life, easy user interface, great sound, etc. are true, so I like the player from these aspects.
The problems in using this player for audiobooks is twofold. First there are no bookmarks. My listening tracks are about 70 minutes long. If I want to listen to FM, I can easily switch over to it. However, when I go back to music, the player acts like I am starting over. I have to find the the file I was listening to and then fast forward through it until I find my place in the book.
Second, the fast forward/backward option. My old Creative Muvo would accelerate the fast forward the longer I hold down the button. So moving forward from

Like others, I was a little apprehensive about purchasing a refurbished item, but I am extremely pleased with the product so far. (I just received it yesterday.) Although this is the first MP3 player that I've used, I would rate the sound quality as excellent. It's unbelievable that so much is coming out of a unit so small. I'm also very impressed with all it's other features. I haven't totally figured out the software yet, but it was very easy to download music to the unit. I would definately recommend this to anyone and am thinking about purchasing another one for my wife.

This product is a really good, simple to use MP3 player. I love the size the ease of use and the overall quality. I have friends that have the Sony Walkman and IPods and this product is just as good if not better. I strongly recommend this product to anyone.

Purchased b/c of the strong reviews others had written - they were correct this is a great product.I purchased the pink color b/c it was cheaper then the others. Sound & video quality are great! I didn't like that I couldn't delete music from the device itself- I would need to connect to a computer to delete music. It only came with a usb cable to charge it with no AC plug. I purchased a USB to AC adapter so I could charge the player at work-haven't tried it yet. I wanted to purchase a case for it but it seemed like all the cases I could find were a third of the price of a new player. So,I just purchased a screen protector for a couple bucks( those screen protectors you buy for digital cameras)

This is an awsome MP3 player for the money. My 5 year old daughter uses it all the time without any help from me, (as if I could help anyways). The sound if great with plenty of volume. I would highly recomend this to anybody. After reading all the reveives, I decided to purchase this item and I am glad I did. I think a 2 year old could download music, It is that easy.
Thanks overstock for a great player and great price.

I give this product 5 stars. It was fully charged in about an hour. I figured out most of the operations without looking at the manual. It plays video, radio, and music files. The sound quality is great. It also has some games. I wasn't expecting that. You can store text files and even though the screen is small, it is still easy to read. What amazes me is how incredibly small this is ... It can hide behind a credit card.
I just got it this morning and have been listening to the radio. I have not tried to download any of my music files yet. I got this at work.
I am still amazed at the sound quality. It feels and sounds like it is coming from outside the ear buds.
I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a really good mp3 player.

If you use your MP3 player for music only, my one star review is very harsh. For the money, it is a decent player if you never listen to anything over five minutes long. However, if you listen to audiobooks or podcasts, do not buy this player. I have used about a dozen different players over the past few years and I have never ever seen one so ill suited for playing lengthy files. There is no bookmarking feature and the fast forward is so slow that it is completely useless. You cannot start and the end of a track and rewind back to your spot either. Worse yet, it seems like the designers almost were determined to make it impossible for someone to maintain their spot on a long track. The record button has a hair trigger and is very difficult not to accidentally touch, and you had better manage to listen to that audiobook on one batter charge, because recharging will also cause you to loose your spot.

I purchased this MP3 player recently and it's wonderful. I was not that computer savvy in converting the music format to smaller kps so that the tracks could fit on the player, but once I figured it out, it was easy, hence I wish the instructions were of more help to those of us who need a little "music download 101" (smile). I am new to the MP3 music format, but it's wonderful considering they replace the hundreds of CD's that I have..I am a die-hard Sony(and Amazon) fan for years, and this is one more star in my collection..You rock Sony..Thanks....BJ

This mp3 player is great. Very small and easy to take everywhere. It even hooks up tp the stereo in my car. Easy to use and the battery lasts a long time. Great value for the money. I recommend this product.

I purchased this little gem about 2 months ago instead of an IPOD, because it had the FM receiver option. I have never owned or operated an MP3 player before, but I found this one to be extremely user-friendly. To load your music, you simply connect it to the Windows Media Player (software disk is included0, then just drag and drop your music files. The battery life is unbelievably long -I've charged it maybe, twice? And it is soooo cute! The only thing I think they could have added is a "sleep" function that would turn it off after awhile. Other than that I love it!

It does not play mp4. It boggles the mind how they can call it an mp4 player when it does not support mp4. The user interface is terrible, truly unintuitive and a pain to work with. That said, once you figure out the players quirks and limitations it works fine.

I bought this MP3 player thinking I was going to get just an MP3 player but I got so much more. It has a built in voice recorder which comes in handy in college during important lectures and moments I feel smart and need to say some thing and don't have enough time to write it down. This MP3 player also carries your photos and movies. It came with this compact disk you put in your computer, which makes it easy to up load movies into your player and T.V shows too; which is cool because I got to watch Gridiron Gang and smallville on it lol. It really comes in handy in situations were you're board too ha, ha. The great thing is I got it for $59.99; I dropped it tons of times and it still works. I also bought the clear case for it, it makes it a whole lot better and safer too. the MP3 player it self plus with the clear case is way lighter than an ipod. It also comes with a usb drive to connect and charge to your Personal computer :) pluse theres a wall charger sold for it too; just search it

I purchased this for my 11-year old daughter, since I didn't want to spend the money on a "Nanno". The sound quality is excellent and so are the earphones. It is extremely thin and small.
It didn't come with a manual, but it's easy to download that from Samsung's site.
The only drawback I found is that you cannot download music from "itunes", which is what we were using for our shuffle. However, there are many sites to download music from, we just thought itunes was the easiest site.
Another warning if downloading music for children--other sites have music labeled the same title as teen groups ex: Year 3000 from Jonas Brothers, and then the song is something entirely different and not appropriate.
Overall, we are really happy.
