The Good-
The NVIDIA Ion LE graphics card is great. I use the Revo to watch .avi file and .mkv files. Note: these files dont play strait out of the box you need to use coreavc codecs and windows media classic home theatre (free download just google it)
There are 6 usb ports for easy access
Hdmi and VGA outputs - I use HDMI with my sony bravia t.v.
It comes with a keyboard and mouse... both work great but you may want to upgrade them eventually.
esata port works great if you have an external hard drive that supports it.

The Cons
LOTS of crapware out of the box really slows down the computer so be sure to uninstall it.
No Wireless card in it but you can buy a usb one for a reasonable price.
You cant upgrade any of the hardware without voiding your warranty - this includes the hard drive and ram!

Purchased this machine to replace an Acer that had a motherboard die after 15 months! Very easy set-up. Great for family use - internet surfing, game playing and uploading pictures to share.

Well built and nice looking product. The rounded edges and sleek lines of this netbook are really nice. It has a subdued pattern on the lid that is unique. Other Features that I like are the keyboard and built in webcam.

I had a problem with battery not holding charge. BB sent me an entire new computer in a week and the new one works fine. I tested my new battery, fully charged to dead- 3 hrs and 16min. I thought that was okay. I always plug it into a wall so it really not a huge issue.
As far as the small keyboard, your fingers adapt within the first few times using it. Overall a great little netbook and have recommended it.

Right out of the box I had ! seemingly major issue. I had to Shift+F8, or something, eventually Entered VGA mode, to get the desktop image to show on my hdtv. Acer Customer Service was helpful, but did not think of the solution for me. I shut it down by the button, started it and pressed the key(s) they said, but I knew VGA was the port I had my monitor in, so I was lucky. Whew! Fixed!

I am a little women and needed a laptop that wouldn't kill me to carry around. This mini is very light weight with a cool design. Everything works perfect except that I did not purchase extra memory so it takes a little while to boot up and sometimes the internet is slow loading. I will be purchasing extra memory soon. The battery life is great I can sit through a 3 hour class and still be fine. I love the keyboard it is very easy to type on and it is actually a very good sized keyboard.

Lets be honest about most computer users. They are not running Call of Duty 4 and they are not running photoshop. What most users want in a Notebook can be found in this Netbook. The LCD back lit screen is gorgeous to work on. It provides plenty of real estate to easily navigate a web page as well as work on document. I chose the Mini 311 because of the ION graphics. Now with Adobe Flash 10.1 Beta you can watch HiDef Hulu in full screen with no stutter. Its the perfect take with you computer, its light weight, long battery life while still managing to pack quite a punch thanks to the ION graphics. I recommend this for anyone looking for basic computing on the go. I have two desktops to supplement this device but I have yet to encounter a task that the HP Mini 311 has failed to accomplish. I use the Mini 311 for work where I deal with network infrastructure. I use it at school where I am continuing my education via the Cisco Networking Academy and other IT related courses. If this fits

I had been looking at the "netbook" market for a while and with all the different brands and sizes out there it took me a while. My main factors were price, size (keyboard and screen), and battery life. I feel that a lot of the netbooks out there are just cheap looking, like a little kids toy almost. The N130 is solid, yet light, boasts a 90%ish sized keyboard (works great with my big fingers) and has a 5/5 hours of battery life, real world. It comes with Windows 7 Started Edition which is great but my only complaint with Started is you can't change the desktop background... How dumb is that? Video isn't the greatest on here either, YouTube is OK, but video files are slightly choppy especially at full screen. But hey this is a netbook and is built for browsing the web, and for that it is amazing. I was considering buying a full size notebook and decided on this netbook and I couldn't be happier. It's a perfect fit at a perfect price. On a side note, I got mine running Mac OSX

A great product. One thing that I found was that the free Norton anti-virus and other security stuff (firewall, etc) were not activated automatically. The Norton AV said it was on in some places, and at other times said it was off, so that was a little frustrating. Also, I found that some of my stuff (my Sony IC recorder for example) is not compatible with Windows 7, and the email and internet connection at my school is not set for Windows 7 yet either. This is not a flaw with the computer of course, but something to keep in mind since W7 is somewhat new. Otherwise, I love it. I still use my regular laptop for videos and so on, but the HP mini does pretty much everything the other one does except for the CD/DVD stuff.

The battery is so large that it protrudes out of the rear. The nice thing about that is it angles the keyboard towards you. I might need to update some settings, but after about 3 hours of continuous use the battery indicator shows low. I thought a 6 cell battery was supposed to be good for about 8 hours.
Other than battery life, this is an awesome netbook.

I got this netbook as part of that great deal on 3 HP PCs and wireless router. The price was definitely right. This is my second netbook I purchased , I had an 8.5" before and it is too small. This 10" screen fell right up my alley, not to mention the almost full sized keyboard is much more comfortable to type on. The features of this netbook are great i am using it with a $25 USB bluetooth adapter. This enables me to use it with my blackberry tour 9630 via bluetooth as a modem to connect to the internet. Works flawlessly. Believe me you for the price this is a great deal.

I love this little guy. Easy to take with me anywhere I go. Has enough computing power to meet my needs.
There is no optical drive, but this shouldn't deter anyone from purchasing. You can get a nifty little external drive if you just can't live without one.
The first time I used the mini for a video call, I was appalled at the quality of the graphics and sound. I overcame this with adjustments to the power settings for the graphics chip. A simple right-click to the icon, then click on options, then click on display settings. There's a button to click on for power settings. Adjusting the power settings, gave the chip the ability to process good quality video calls.

Wroked fine until the hard drive failed one month after the purchase date. Has to be sent to texas - at my expense- so they can replace the hard drive.

Great gadget at cost of mobile phone. Full HD video on NVIDIA ION works if the right codecs are installed. Easy reinstallation/recovery - I had to do it because of F-Secure anti virus solution, which crashed my XP OS. Some limitations because of XP home, but generally i'm really impressed.

PROS: My 6 year old Pentium 4 pc at 2.5Ghz was too slow to edit my new HD video footage so I upgraded to this new HP quad processor and the HD footage is now smooth and I have no problem multitasking by surfing the web, burning a dvd, and editing an HD home video. The pc never used more than 2gigs RAM even though it has 6gigs RAM. I love the standby button that Compaq and HP pcs have always had so it's always a quick 1-second to turn on and 1 second to turn off. The keyboard lights up when the pc's awake and turns off when the pc's on standby. Windows 7 is awesome. This pc has the AMD quad chip instead of the Pentium chip (which would cost about $50-$60 more) but because it can render HD video with ease, I can spend the $50 savings toward a nice dinner or a wireless keyboard/mouse. CONS: I wish the standby button was a separate button instead of having to hold down a FUNCTION key and the F2 key at the same time. Because the included Windows 7 is 64-bit instead of 32-bit, I had to

I just bought my HP Mini a few hours ago and it's going back tomorrow. I love HP, I hate the Windows 7 Starter edition they're putting on most netbooks. I looked everywhere and it doesn't allow you to even change the desktop wallpaper! So at the moment even my iPhone has more power than Windows 7 Starter is willing to give you. To add to my frustration I have USB flash drives made by Sandisk ( 2gb & 4gb Cruzer) which have password protected access that this "great" Windows 7 can't even recognize. The error message it displays says the drive letter is already taken by the computer or it is unable to assign any other drive letters. If you disable the password protection the error will subside and allow you to access your files on the flash drive........but you shouldn't HAVE to disable your protection if Windows 7 wasn't junk. They work fine on my Vista desktop & my XP laptop, so it's not them. Too bad, I love HP, but not Windows 7....will have to look for a XP netbook.

Part of a great bundle to upgrade your family's computers. Portable and easy access to the internet. Beautiful design of case. The battery life is short, but they give you a second battery.

Beware - if you update your video driver using latest graphics driver beta 195.55 in the Nvidia website - you will eliminate the video control panel since the update does not support it....in addition, updated adobe 10.1 elimates the choppy HD playback but video quality is not that great in full screen ..... Battery is NOT 6.5 hours - more like 2.5 - it was like down to 60%(after full charge) with 1 hour use - basic use like surfing interenet, listening to Zune Music(headset).

I am a serious software developer and bought this machine for home office (there was a deal on Staples with is $450). It is the cheapest quad-core desktop you can find anywwhere with decent, no-bs configuration (good on-board nvidia video card with DVI, enough memory and hard-drive). Surprisingly it is quite more powerful than I expected (I use a Intel Q9300 quad-core in the office). This machine is just simply awesome. Now I got Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10 dual boot and is happily hacking on my code (I mostly use Ubuntu). Also, this CPU has full VM support so I can run 64-bit virtual machines (watch out some cheap Intel Q8300 quad-core does NOT support VT commands). By the way, it is also super super quiet. I am very picky on computer fan noises, this one I can't even hear anything. Overall I am super happy with the purchase and would recommend it to everybody.
