Celestron 93712 NexImage USB Camera
I purchased this camera from Amazon and have had a few weeks to test it out. Overall, I've found it to be an excellent tool for lunar and planetary imaging. It is easy to get started using, but to get really good images, you'll need to spend some time and you'll need to be technically adept. A few points are worth noting for newbies. All astro cameras in this price range are essentially webcams that have been modified to capture video through a telescope. This technology achieves image quality by sampling the best frames from the video and then stacking them on top of each other. This results in much more fine detail. This camera comes with two different pieces of software that must be used. The capture software gives a real-time view of the scope video, which allows you to focus, but you must be able to see the laptop screen while you adjust focus on the scope (unless you have a focus motor). The AMCap capture software also allows you to tune the brightness, contrast, frame capture

Sanus VisionMount Universal Wall Mount for 32"-60" Flat-Panel TVs - Black
I am very, very pleased with the Sanus VMPL2B Low Profile Wall Mount. It is solidly built of heavy gauge metal and comes with all the screws, anchors, and instructions to mount a variety of TV's.

8.0-24.0mm Wide Angle Zoom Eyepiece (1.25") with 40-60 Degree Apparent Field of View
I bought this to try out on my son's new Nexstar 4 SE. I also bought the Celestron larger eyepiece/filter kit. I thought we might like the convenience of the zoom (we did!) and I did not see much of a difference in the images between the zoom and the fixed EPs. Unlike the fixed EPs, the focus barely changes when changing the magnification on this zoom, and only slight adjustments are required. I also REALLY like the better eye relief and larger "field of view" vs. the smaller f/mm kit EPs.
The barrel of the zoom is bigger then the stock 25mm, and seemed to be a nice quality item. I kept this, and sent the kit back. I will also get a good Barlow and the moon filter, and feel pretty well set (for now).

Celestron 93712 NexImage USB Camera
I have installed the included software on 2 separate laptop computers without success. A message pops up telling me that a preview is not available, meaning that the image from the camera will not show on the screen. After uninstalling and re-installing the software several times, I searched the internet and found a demo version which I downloaded. This worked fine and showed the image on the screen but the software is not configured the same as the Celestron software and is a limited demo version.
I made several unsuccessful attempts to contact someone at Celestron and they do not respond to my emails.
For me, this was a waste of money!!!!

Series 4000 Eyepiece & Filter Set (6 Eyepieces, 2x Barlow Lens, Set #1 and Moon 1.25" Filters & Hard Case)
Set features great eyepieces that have good field of view. Lower power lenses reveal great details of the moon and are ideal for 'calibrating' your spotting scope. Set's increments are very useful for stepping up magnifications of Saturn, other planets or the moon. Very easy to go 40mm to 32mm to 15mm to 12.4mm to 9.7mm to 6.4mm with focus and center technique greatly alleviating frustration and taking minimal time.
Definitely recommend the set based on the increments alone, quality is above average for a set in this price range. I guess the only hit I have is eyepieces could be identified more readily. Font on eyepieces is small and hard to see in the dark.

8.0-24.0mm Wide Angle Zoom Eyepiece (1.25") with 40-60 Degree Apparent Field of View
I was a bit leery of buying a "zoom" eyepiece and suspected that the movement within the lens assembly would greatly effect the optics. I took a chance because I wanted a quick and dirty spotting eyepiece that would give me a sneak peak at objects before I bothered switching eyepieces. I have now tried this eyepiece on my Celestron 130SLT and compared it side by side with a set of comparable fixed Celestron Omni Possls, which should be of comparable quality. I was very pleasantly surprised, as I saw very little visible difference when viewing Mars and Saturn. I had expected the zoom to cause significant distortion outside the center of the viewfield, and to give substantially less sharp views. However, I found the views very nearly the same. I also tried the zoom over my Celestron Ultima barlow with good results. Some minor refocusing was required with any significant change in zoom, but this was not unexpected. That said, there was a difference between the zoom and fixed lens eyepieces.

Celestron 93712 NexImage USB Camera
This does not ship with drivers for Windows Vista, and Celestron are not planning on releasing any. However if you login to Yahoo user groups and search for the Neximage group, there is a folder in the files section called 'Neximage vista' which provides drivers for Windows Vista which worked great for me.

Also the magnification that you get from the Neximage is the same as what you would get from using a 5mm eyepiece on your telescope, so the length of your telescope divided by 5.

Sanus VisionMount Universal Wall Mount for 32"-60" Flat-Panel TVs - Black
"Professional" quality heavy duty steel.
Very clear instructions, and all hardware included.
Local A/V houses want over $200.00 for units that are not as well built as this.
Incredible value for the price.
Simple install, drill some holes for cabling in your wall, run your wires from your equipment.
Use a helper to line the wall part up and level it on your wall at stud locations, mount the other half of the mount onto your set, and use a helper to hang your display.
Tune in your favorite show.
Really could not be simpler.
Easily holds my 50" Plasma display on my sheetrock wall.
Highly recommended.

X-Cel 2x Barlow Lens (1.25") with ED Glass
I purchased this item to upgrade from a generic barlow lens. To test it out, i gave it a good few hours on Saturn. Very crisp, sharp edges, and good color over the entire viewing area. The only downside was that plastic cap that covers the upper opening doesn't really fit right and had to tighten the thumbscrews more than usual to keep it from popping back out. A handy lens that gives you more viewing options with your current eyepieces.

Celestron 93712 NexImage USB Camera
Installing the software was a piece of cake, using it is quite another matter. The basic introductory instructions are easy enough but after that it seems to require a PhD in mathematic astrophysics to get round all the available toggles, tweaks and options. First attempts? The moon came out real nice, but Saturn was a white blob with no fine detail. Nothing like type of pics that the super-whizzkids proudly display on the Celestron site. Will go back to night school and one day you might see my fine efforts published as well
(oh - was using it on a classic LX200 in good see'ing conditions - sorry Celestron!)

X-Cel 5.0mm Eyepiece (1.25") with 55-Degree Apparent Field of View
Nice looking, its heavy, but at a glance coatings look like not well distributed on lens surface. Images of venus and saturn very blur and hazy.
I tried this eyepiece in a well collimated reflector telescope (orion spaceprobe 130) in which other eyepieces work very well.

Not Good.

Collimation Eyepiece (1.25") - Allows the Realignment of Newtonian Telescope Mirrors
Celestron's tool is easy to carry, easy to use, and (at least in my case!) gives me quick, precision collimation with my Newtonian. Why pay for a laser collimator (which needs to be calibrated) when you can use this?

Collimation is the most important part of your setup; without good mirror alignment, all you'll see are blobs and blurs even on the best viewing nights. This combination tool makes aligning both primary and secondary mirrors fairly painless, and also fairly fast. Highly recommended for any level of observer.

Polarizing Filter Set (1.25")
This is very useful for viewing the moon.

I screw one filter into the back of the diagonal and another into the eyepiece.

You can gradually adjust the brightness and contrast by rotating the eyepiece when viewing.

Sanus VisionMount Universal Wall Mount for 32"-60" Flat-Panel TVs - Black
This is a well built mount but I'm giving it only 3 stars because it is NOT a true Universal Plasma Mount. It is NOT suitable for PANASONIC PLASAMA TVs...specifically TH-50PX600U. YOU WILL NEED MORE THAN 1.5" OF CLEARANCE FOR THIS PLASMA TV!!! You will have to use washers (not included) in order to get your Panasonic TV mounted properly where it is level and not hitting or resting on your wall. Don't bother with this mount, be sure to goto sanus.com and use their mount finder tool to see what mount they recommend for your specific LCD or Plasma TV. SANUS does not recommend this mount for the Panasonic TH-50PX600U 50" Plasma TV. One other thing...this bracket is 32" wide which makes it impossible to mount on 3 beams. Hey Sanus...why not make this mount 34" or 36" inches wide? I returned this mount to Amazon and purchaced the truly universal Sanus VMPL3-B. For a few bucks more, I was able to hang my 50" Panasonic using 3 beams on a really heavy-duty mount.

SLR (35mm OR Digital) Camera Adapter for All Refractor and Reflector Telescopes which Accept 1.25" Eyepieces - Requires Camera-Specific T-Mount Adapter
The Celestron 93635-A T-Adapter connects the rear cell of a NexStar 4 or C90 scope to a T-ring (sold seperately) which is designed to fit your specific camera. There isn't much to the adapter -- just a threaded metal tube with a metal screw-on ring on one end. Note that you will need to use your camera in fully manual mode though the camera's internal light meter will probably function normally allowing you to set the shutter speed for a proper exposure during daylight hours.

While the T-Adapter does function as advertised, it suffers from a design flaw -- the connecting tube is too narrow causing severe vignetting (i.e., the corners of phtots are cut off and appear very dark or black) at least for a 35mm full frame camera mounted to a C90. I have not tried it with a C-sized digital camera yet. Due to the severity of vignetting, you might want to consider an alternative model of T-Adapter or, better yet, a Tele-Extender designed for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes such as the Orion 1.25"

Celestron 93712 NexImage USB Camera
I bought one of these to use for planets.

Setting it up to work with the laptop was very easy.

Unfortunately, the nose is only 1.21" wide, so it wobbles in the scope - making it very tough to aim.

Next time, I'll try putting a plastic sleeve on it to get it closer to 1.25" - with that, I expect it'll perform well.

The price is certainly attractive. And pictures I've seen from others with this camera are impressive. If the nose was the right size, I'd have given it 5 stars.

Update 7/21/06: I contacted Celestron about the problem with the adapter, and they sent a replacement that is 1.251 inches in diameter. It's a hair large, but should work fine. I'm unable to change my rating on an edit, but this shows they were responsive to a problem, and I give them credit for that.

On this basis, while my rating shows a 3, I feel it deserves a 5.

Sanus VisionMount Universal Wall Mount for 32"-60" Flat-Panel TVs - Black
Mounted a 50" plasma without any problems. Take your time with placement and follow the instrustions. Check and double check you drilling alignment to make sure it's level.
Installed in no time. You may need additional washers depending on the back of your specific plasma panel. There may be screw heads sticking out that may not allow you to mount the pieces flat against the TV.
Very easy install. Great Value.

Celestron 94303 Telescope Accessory Kit
I have used all 5 of the eyepieces and the Barlow 2X with my Celestron Nexstar 8" SCT. I am pleased with the variety of eyepieces provided and found the 6mm, 9mm, 15 mm and 32 mm to perform very well. The 4mm has been used less frequently. To have a family of eyepieces to choose from at the price of $119 is a good value. The 2X barlow works very well with 9mm and above eyepieces and also with the 25 mm standard eyepiece. I have not had a chance to really use the filters yet but am confident they will provide enhancements as designed. The same item was found on Hungate's website at $149 and was priced at $199 in the local Hungate store. I purchased at Amazon for $119 and free shipping. The time of order to delivery was about 1 week. I would highly recommend to a beginner that is anxious to have a variety of eyepieces to view the planets. Better quality is available but the kit provides a handy storage and travel case with expansion spaces. I even store my camera's lens adapter
