it's like a less violant God of War (Literally down to the way he attacks, opens doors and finishes off enemies) and it still manages to be fun, though not as fast but it's okay and I'll say why later. You have to level Sonic and the Werehog up separately, though not to the extent of Sonic and the Secret Rings where you're running horribly slow, you go from fast to mach ten. Sonics day levels are pure speed and fun much like Sonic Adventure just MUCH faster when they have to be and more polished so to speech, the werehogs levels are slower but also more focused on combat and some light puzzles, where leveling with Sonic would get you more speed and boost, the werehog gets more attack moves, power and health, and there's also the Tornado levels where you fly with Tails to take down Robotniks (Eggmans) army which is more or less press a certain button to blow up a certain enemy..

The 360/PS3 versions are almost completely different from the Wii/PS2 in every way, the levels are the same theme but are completely different in design, there is no leveling for Sonic and it's done automatically for the werehog. The werehog is more of a button masher than it is the 360/PS3 version where they have a long move list. There's more of an even spread between Sonics and the Werehogs levels, while the Wii/PS2 seems to focus more on the werehog. There is no towns to explore in the Wii/PS2 version, which is more of a picture/text adventure rather than running around, which is fine, but it's fun to see Segas new art style with the human characters that actually fit in this time around.The 360/PS3 version seems to be larger in scale to the Wii/PS2 versions but that's not to say the Wii version isn't good, it's just not as large as the 360/PS3.

I'm so happy with this game, even if you're not a big fan of the werehog levels, there's enough fun in Sonics levels to keep you coming back for more. They don't try to over complicate a story with characters wierd events and certainly no Final Fantasy looking characters. It focuses on Sonic and his Werehog form and has a very fantasy/silly story, but it's very fitting for Sonic I must say. The game is the best Sonic game I've played in along time, and though I expected it to be not great, it turned out to be my favorite 3D Sonic game.

new cash-in squad at SE. The graphics are better than FFXII, so I wish people would stop making that comparison. The art technique and layout of the world itself CAN be compared to FFXII only because that is the type of rpg world SE seems to want to build now. I think their plan is to try and make rpg more accessable to American's by getting away from the Japanese form, which seems to be less popular(god knows why...).

I can tell from 10 hours I will love this game but, having said all that, I am going to wait for the PS3 before I purchase my copy. I own both systems and can wait 4 months or so for the release of what will hopefully be a much more rounded out and perfected version of the game. It seems like SE tried as hard as they could to push this game to market before the holiday season because it was never supposed to come out before early first quarter of '09. Its simply presonal preference though, because I really want to get the best version of this game because it is THAT GOOD, honestly, and I do not want anything to take away from the experience.

If you do not own a PS3 and want every rpg that is worth playing, you sincerly need to buy this game because it will not disappoint you. Tenchnical issues aside, its the best your going to get before FFXIII is finally released(unless you own a PS2 still, then it is Persona 4 ;p ).

Fallout 3: Xbox 360

mode, where we are just focused on what is immediately in front of us. In this game it is worthwhile to just go to different places and look off into the distance. Some of the views, both in majesty and in content, are unbelievable. The art in this game is certainly a ten. Not only is the outside environment impressive, but the inside environments are good, too. They aren't Dead Space quality, but they are good none-the-less.

The non-main quests are a mixed bag. Some of them are definitely interesting, others are just mail delivery quests. I will say that there are generally a few ways to finish a quest, and some of them can be short cut or extended depending on how you go about them. There is so much to do, side quest wise, that you can take a break almost any time you like from the main quests and just lose yourself in the immense and beautifully done DC Capital Wasteland. Fallout 3 does a good job of presenting you with many distractions while you push along down the main quests.

Combat. The temptation is to think of this game as a FPS. It is not. In fact, if you play it as a FPS you will pretty much get yourself killed. You really do have to rely upon the VATS system -- which is very skill dependent. You can fire a high damage weapon at an enemy and barely scratch them if you aren't proficient in that item. Keep that in mind when you approach combat. Occasionally FPS style combat is useful -- or even necessary in the case of sniping or the Fat Man -- but it is wise to just surrender yourself to the points based skill dependent type of play that the VATS does a good job of enforcing. If you approach this game as an FPS you will be sorely disappointed.

There are a few little issues here and there with the game. Combat can be repetitive. Early on the game is a struggle due to weak skill levels and poor equipment, but once you cross a certain threshold it swings the other way and the challenge evaporates. The main quest(s) tell a good story, but most of the story is fairly standard fare. The ending of the game, I thought, was fairly abrupt and anti-climactic. There are a few different endings to the game, but that mostly depends on two or three choices you make _immediately_ prior to the end of the game. The journey was excellent, but the end was poor.

One other minor complaint: The game, in a way, scales with the character. Not quite like Oblivion did, as I understand Fallout 3 scales an area to your character once you enter it -- and then as you progress that area stays at its original level. This dynamic, much improved over Oblivion as it is, takes away any sense of accomplishment that leveling really has. True, that when you level you gain perks and skills and such, but to some degree it doesn't really seem to affect your relation to the difficulty of the game. People who go after leveling up early will be disappointed -- my recommendation is to just proceed down the main quest, using side quests as distactions, and enjoy the leveling as you go.

To conclude this review I will say that I found Fallout 3 very entertaining. I'm not sure on its replayability -- if you are a completionist type player then you will have a staggering amount of stuff to do -- but I'm sure in a few weeks, during a lull in game releases, I will be back to playing this game again. The game had quite a few impressive moments, both visually and in concept, and I would recommend it to anyone who finds themselves to be a fan of the Bethesda style RPGs.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade

lot more mature, Sega superstars tennis is for 4 year olds and no one above that age. Period. The arcade games suck too, but it was a nice gesture from a greedy corporation, I mean monopoly, like microsoft. Buy it if you are poor like me and cant afford the one with the hard drive, but if you can get the one with the hard drive. Or you could buy this one and just buy a hard drive from ebay for 35 dollars. It's up to you. At least with this one you'll still have money for some games. Well im gonna get back to playing GTA4, buy this!

Naruto: The Broken Bond: Xbox 360

you the option of playing the game with the Japanese voice cast, which apparently for some people higher up on the Otaku Nerd food chain than myself is an absolute necessity. The basic mechanics of utilizing Jutsu to progress through the game, etc are still the same (which is good).

My main beef with this game is this:

In Rise of a Ninja each mission was different and was planned to help advance the story. With Broken Bond each mission is just a fetch quest with some fighting. And it's crazy repetitive. And after a while it gets kind of annoying. Like to the point where the word "insipid" isn't too far off. The context of earning the respect of the Hidden Leaf villagers helped to answer the question of "Why Am I Doing This Again?" in Rise of a Ninja. You're going to be asking yourself that question a lot more in Broken Bond...and most of the time your just not going to get an answer.

Additionally, they broke from using the actual series animation in some of the cut scenes. Some folks might like that better. I didn't. While the graphics engine makes for a great visual representation of the series animation - I wasn't feeling it cut scene wise. That's just me.

That aside, this is still a great game. All of the goodness from the 60 or so episodes from the second part of the series is in there. The epic battles are still awesome, graphics are still great, and when the game isn't making you backtrack for some inane fetch quest - it's fun-as-all-git-out.

While I recommended buying an Xbox 360 just to play Rise of the Ninja, or playing it even if you aren't a Naruto fan - I wouldn't make the same suggestions with this game. If you own an Xbox 360 and are a Naruto fan, then yes, you should totally own this.

All and all this is still a great Naruto game.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider: Xbox 360

the dwarf from the original game is there, pulling an axe out of his chest. He sees Tyris and exclaims, "By my balls, you're alive." Ok, if you're a hot chick who was unconscious and the first thing you hear is a dwarf talking about his testicles, that's not a good thing. Maybe he's saying he resurrected you somehow with his balls, or he is your father, or maybe that's just a contemporary Dwarven expression. Anyway, the Dwarf gives Tyris an axe and says you must find the pieces and reassemble it. Lucky for Tyris, the pieces just snap on. Near the end of the game, Axe Battler from the original game appears and says something like, "Gee, Tyris, I'm sorry your game sucks so bad. See Ya," and he's gone. I think there are 30 lines of bad dialogue in the entire story.

Gameplay - 1/10
In this day and age, developers of real games put the player in an adventure and let them battle their way through it. Golden Axe puts the player in a world and punishes them if they don't do what the designers intended. No attempt is made to make a cohesive world. Instead, the game just stops from time to time and says, "Challenge Complete" and gives you a score, usually telling you that you suck. If you die during a Challenge, you have a LIMITED NUMBER OF CONTINUES that you can use or you must start over. The game also makes every attempt to take cheap shots at the player: Bombs hidden in objectives, poison hidden in chests, near impossible jumps...

Controls - 1/10
The controls are very awkward at best.
A - Jump, B - Mount Beast, X - Light Attack, Y - Heavy Attack, RB - Parry, LB - Evade, D-Pad - Choose Magic, L Trigger - Run, R Trigger - Magic, X+Y = Knockback Attack.
Combat relies heavily on pressing RB, LB, and X+Y. Where do you put your hands to press RB, then X+Y immediately after that?!

Combat - 2/10
You begin AND END the game with 2 combos. XXX for multiple enemies. YYY to do damage to a single enemy. If you delay your presses, you deal extra damage. You can mix and match the X's and Y's, but there's no point. You can't get new moves or new weapon types, so you'd better love pressing XXX or YYY.
Most of the focus of combat is on Defense, which is a lot less fun than thinking about slaughtering enemies. There is NO BLOCK in the game.
Tyris can Parry or Evade. The enemy attacks are color coded. Orange Attacks can be Evaded, Blue can be parried. If you are successful, you can counter attack for extra damage. If you try to Parry a Blue or Evade an Orange, Tyris just stands there and gets beaten up. If no attacks are coming at you, THE BUTTONS DO NOTHING AND YOU ARE IMMOBILE FOR 2 SECONDS. If you are attacking, the Parry and Evade don't take effect until the animation ends, so the best way to fight is to stand still, Parry or Evade, then attack. Boy, I bet you can't wait to experience that! There is no combat manager in the game, so Tyris can be attacked by a Blue and Orange at the same time, which means you get hit and lose your bonus. This reminds Tyris that the world is cruel and unfair.

Beasts - 3/10
Beasts are only in the game about 10% of the time. The beasts are sluggish and clunky and they only have 3 attacks each. X, Y, and X+Y. In some cases, using the X+Y attack drains the beast's health. The beasts are disposable and if Tyris gets knocked off a beast, the weakest enemy can jump on it and ride it, to remind her that she is not special.

Leveling Up - 0/10
At the end of each challenge, you accumulate Gold. If you defend well, you get a bonus to the gold that you pick up. If you get hit once, the bonus drops to zero. This is very frustrating. When you complete a level, you get graded based on damage taken, gold, time, and dismemberment. If you play on NORMAL MODE, the game multiplies your gold by 1/3!!!!!! You only keep 1/3 of your GOLD!!! The background for this screen should have been a giant middle finger! (Hard Mode is x1)
Getting gold, fills a bar at the bottom of the screen. When that fills up, you get what the game decides to give you. You usually get a new outfit for Tyris that looks the same as the one she already has. This reminds Tyris that no matter how hard she tries, she will never get ahead in the world.

Level Design - 0/10
Every level looks the same. From the rocky barren plains, to the dusty barren plains dotted with ruins. In every level, there are spikes that randomly pop in and out of the ground for no apparent reason. Absolutely no attempt is made to make this look like a world. Instead the levels are there to take cheap shots at Tyris. In some levels, while riding a dinosaur, the wind can blow you and the dino off of the cliff.
Opening doors is incredibly confusing. There are 9 different ways to open doors, but there is only 1 way to open each door, and you never really know how you are supposed to open them.
If you ever get lost, the best way to tell if you are headed in the right direction is the slow down. The game drops frames to load in enemies. So, if the game suddenly pauses for a second, that's a good thing. There are invisible walls everywhere, so the levels may look like mass expanses of dirt, but they're linear dirt trails surrounded by dirt.

Bosses 1/10
Almost all the bosses are the same guy. It's a 60 foot tall giant that you attack. After you hit him a few times, he crouches. When he crouches, Tyris kicks him and he goes flying backwards into a fire column to take damage. If Tyris can move a 60 foot tall giant with a kick, why can't she jump more than 5 feet? Perhaps the bosses are made of helium.

Bugs - 10/10
I've seen Tyris get stuck in level geometry. I've seen the game crash. I've heard the sound skip. I've seen Tyris fall out of the world. There are render tears and slowdown. I've also seen an entire palette shift to blue.

Sound - 5/10
The music is ok, but neither feels epic nor atmospheric.

The Ending - 0/10
Tyris catches up with her captured Dragon God and he tells her the final piece of the axe is his soul. She stabs him in the head and does her best Darth Vader Episode 3, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I laughed for a minute. Then you fight Death Adder. The fight is 20 minutes long and makes no sense. But, that's ok because the fight pauses every few minutes and pop-up windows appear giving you detalied instructions on what you are supposed to be doing. Hit him, ride him, make him destroy some statues, then a cutscene plays where Death Adder says, "Fool, I will destroy you!" Tyris replies, "Maybe, but not this day!" Seriously, that's what she says. She chops his head off. Your reward... a skimpy white bikini costume. So, the final scene plays and the Dwarf and Axe are there. Tyris says, "I've lost my land, my god, my people..." But it's hard to take her seriously because she looks like `Fun in the Sun' Tyris who's about to go play beach volleyball and drink something with a little umbrella in it. Axe Battler says, "This is just the beginning." The dwarf starts to talk, but is abruptly cut off by the credits. That's right, the credits interrupt the last cutscene.

The game is rated M for violence, gore, and nudity. Unfortunately, the nudity is only on dead, charred, or dismembered bodies. If you're going to put breasts in a game, put them on living women so the non-necrophiliacs can enjoy them, too.

If you're dying to play a hack and slash game, you should play Ninja Gaiden 2, Devil May Cry 4, Oblivion, Too Human, Viking, The Force Unleashed, Lego Star Wars, Assassin's Creed... then buy a Wii and play Zelda and No More Heroes... then buy Castle Crashers on the Xbox Marketplace... You're better off avoiding this game.

If you feel you must play it, it's only 6-8 hours long and not very difficult.

You might be thinking, "Poisoned Blade, if the game was so bad, why did you finish it?" I did it, so you don't have to.

The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon: Xbox 360

work well. Battling the typical onslought of enemies can get repetitious as they come out in large numbers at times and respawn over and over. Though you'll probably find yourself button mashing the x and y buttons to continually attack in these instances, there are some nice grabs and combo moves that you can do that help to break up the monotony of it. Each dragon has specific breath attacks, such as fire,ice, electricity ...etc, that can be upgraded to be more powerful throughout the game. Armor can be obtained and upgraded as well.

The co-op play works well. All you have to do is pause the game and you can choose "Single Player" or "Two Player" from the menu at any time and a friend can join in. Both Spyro and Cynder are joined together by what appears to be an electro-magnetic tether that keeps them within a close range of each other. This means in co-op mode the two players have to work together to try and basically move in the same direction throughout the gameplay.

The flying is sweet and I really enjoy it with only the downside being that it is limited by barriers. Tap the "A" button three times and you're in the air, any time at any place in the game. However, you usually have to get a long flying run, or have to go through a predefined route, in order to get to higher locations that Spyro can't immediately ascend to. If you're like me, you'll enjoy flying through the awesome environments at times.

The story plays out in a kind of superficial way. It is decent enough to carry the game but not quite up to par with the epic soundtrack and background music. The audio is top notch and the voicework is well acted. Background ambient music is movie-like and helps this to truly feel like a game for this generation.

Aside from the frustrations of limited camera angles, invisible barriers and repetitious fighting of common enemies, I think this game is great and I am glad I bought it :)

Though you'll probably find yourself button mashing the x and y buttons to continually attack in these instances, there are some nice grabs and combo moves that you can do that help to break up the monotony of it. Each dragon has specific breath attacks, such as fire,ice, electricity ...etc, that can be upgraded to be more powerful throughout the game. Armor can be obtained and upgraded as well.



The co-op play works well. All you have to do is pause the game and you can choose "Single Player" or "Two Player" from the menu at any time and a friend can join in. Both Spyro and Cynder are joined together by what appears to be an electro-magnetic tether that keeps them within a close range of each other. This means in co-op mode the two players have to work together to try and basically move in the same direction throughout the gameplay.



The flying is sweet and I really enjoy it with only the downside being that it is limited by barriers. Tap the "A" button three times and you're in the air, any time at any place in the game. However, you usually have to get a long flying run, or have to go through a predefined route, in order to get to higher locations that Spyro can't immediately ascend to. If you're like me, you'll enjoy flying through the awesome environments at times.



The story plays out in a kind of superficial way. It is decent enough to carry the game but not quite up to par with the epic soundtrack and background music. The audio is top notch and the voicework is well acted. Background ambient music is movie-like and helps this to truly feel like a game for this generation.



Aside from the frustrations of limited camera angles, invisible barriers and repetitious fighting of common enemies, I think this game is great and I am glad I bought it :)

Secondly, the load times for this game are abominable; the time it takes this game to load are INEXCUSABLE. This probably my second biggest complaint about this game, did they seriously test this game before releasing it to the massess?

Third, the driving is a complete NIGHTMARE! Regardless of the car you drive, one little slight movement of the wheel and you're all over the place. Last I checked I wasn't driving some 1100 HP twin charged supercar, am I missing something here? I mean what's the point of driving especially the bikes when they are undriveable? During missions where you're required to chase or run from enemies this is where you really notice just how bad the driving on this game really is. My goodness, I failed more missions due to the poor handling these cars provide you in the game. What were they trying to accomplish by making everything undriveable?

Next we have the running, hmmph! Talking about being unrealistic -- What's the point of running away from a guy if they can catch up to you? Let's be honest a heavy set man or woman weighing at in at 300 lbs has no business keeping up with a slim seemingly in-shape guy, come on, WTF! During an intese firefight with the cops, I ran because my life was low, and while I'm running I looked behind me, and get this; this fat cop is literally runnnig stride for stride with me, WTF? I guess everybody on the game has the speed of Usain Bolt, because out running people on here is a joke.

Since when did fighting become a community effort? You attack one person, and you're getting swarmed by 3 or more people, if things were like that in the real world then I would understand, but come on, how are you supposed to enjoy getting killed by average people ganging up on you.

Camera control, I think I've spent more time fighting with the camera control then I did with the bad guys, COME ON, this is by far the main reason why I stopped playing this game. Why can't the camera simply look where you're looking, not where it wants to look, for corns sake.


Missions: got old VERY quick, and are really difficult especially if you lack the patience as I do, and for what? To do another pointless bs mission, they really had no directions or true sense of accomplishments after completing them. The storyline, It completely didn't have any point to it, oh wait, it did sex, drugs, killing, racism and more of the same. Safe to say, I could have constructed a far better plot than this.

The good thing about all of this was, I didn't give Rockstar any money for this game, as I barrowed it from a friend, and I'm glad I wasn't in line waiting for this game or else I would have been severely disappointed. So hopefully my review will serve as a wakeup call to those seriously thinking about purchasing this game, cause it's not worth it.

Glass shatters, trees splinter and people can be sucked out into the vacuum of space. One of the engines greatly increases the AI's capabilities. Computer controlled units regroup, hide, flank and interact with their environment. If you pick up a unit, they will grab onto anything in their reach, whether it be a pipe or a fellow unit. These engines allow for multiple replays that are never the same.
While the game is especially captivating the first time through, it gets a little monotonous after a while. The player eventually becomes so powerful that even on the most advanced difficulty; the only challenging level is the very last one. Many of the puzzles in the game are similar and utilize the same tools to complete them. After a few play-throughs, the levels become very similar. You walk or run through a level, hunting for the door to the next area while being besieged by unbelievably large numbers of foes only to destroy them like they were gnats fighting a panzer tank. At the end of every mission is a boss unit, who is extraordinarily better than a regular unit but fought in the exact same manner. Defeating them gives little satisfaction. Also, hidden throughout all the missions are items called holocrons. These hide fun items but are a pain to hunt down. While some are nearly unavoidable, others are so difficult to track down; one may have to resort to online walkthroughs.
While this game may have little appeal to a hardcore gamer, true Star Wars fans will love it. So I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to wear stormtrooper armor or who knows how many forms of communication C3PO is fluent in.

you can get jacked for your beast just like in the original game. The creatures walk very animal life like as if you really were riding a beast. The story isn't the best and actually starts off rushed. As you progress in the game you obtain the Golden Axe, which starts off as a boomerang until the axe is complete. Overall I don't think it's worth $60 but it's worth $40. It may get repetitive to some just like the original Golden Axe.
