As I shopped for a media storage unit, I selected this one as I thought it was made of "wood", maple in fact. It is pressed board covered with paper. Thankfully, my husband assembled it. The description indicated it was assembled, because it didn't say it wasn't. That was why I bought this particular one and again, thinking it was wood. It is completely misrepresented and the first item, after all the shopping I have done over the years at Overstock, not what it said it was. It appears to be sold out, so I am sure, others might have been equally as disappointed. I even went on the Atlantic website and there was no more information there than on Overstock. We kept it, as it will be useable for our needs, but I would never have purchased this had I seen it at a store. Hope others have a better review. It looks very cheap. The "want to be wood" paper is tacky.

Probably good, but shipped poorly

The one star in this review is for the custome service we dealt with in getting our money back.

I've seen this cabinet whole and complete (we got one just like it from a different retailer that ran out after our purchase) and it is beautiful and functional. When we ordered it from Amazon.com independent retailer, it was a whole other story.

The cabinet was shipped in pieces, which wasn't a problem as it is easy to put together. The problem was it was shipped in one box with the doors touching the outside edges of the box. If they would have shipped this in its orginal box inside another box with a bit of packing, there would not have been a problem. The first time we got it, the glass was damaged as was the doors. The second time, the glass was intact, but the doors were again damaged. The problem was that the line along the bottom and top of the doors that fits into the grooves so the doors slide back and forth were split and cracked making the items unrepairable. good stuff

stands are very stylish and look real classy. Couldnt be the price, anyways I wasnt able to. Only problem I had was the mounting bracket wasnt long enough to fit my specific speakers but after a little tinkering I made them work. I dont know if it gives dimensions for that or not but I never noticed.

ok player...dumbed down version of D2

I've owned a Cowon D2 for awhile and thought I'd get a 'scroll/pad' version (rather than D2's touch screen)for 1 handed use while exercising or while driving;

the menu system and features are similar to the D2, but

it does not have the ability to bookmark (see corrections/updates below)
it cannot speed up play (I use this for audio books) if mp3 is recorded under 44Khz,
the control pad is really too small/thin to use without looking at it, they might want take a look at Sandisk's implementation,
non-expandable...no sd slot as in D2,
battery life ok, but only about 1/2 that of D2,
uses less common micro usb cable (D2 uses more common mini),
and,like the D2, it cannot recharge and play at the same time;

on the positive side,
the screen is big and bright,
very light and small, great for use while exercising/jogging,
sound is good,
drag and drop files and folders, no need for additional software,

I bought the u5 for it's speed up playback feature (as long as it's +44Khz) to listen to audio  more

Perfect for pool side, hut tub and boats

I will be using this for all my fishing excursions on our bass boat. Like others have mentioned before me, don't be expecting the sound blow to you away. The maximum setting is a comfortable volume that you can enjoy if you have this near you without disturbing others who are at least 30 feet away. The quality of the sound is perfect - no vibrations or scratchy noises from the speakers. The whole unit is really neat looking since it is all clear and you can see everything inside it. Please be advise that this unit is not as small you you might think from looking at the item image.

Unit quits after a month

There were problems inputting movies through the AV inputs. I had to reset it once to get it to work. Now, after uploading some music files I came back later to find a hot unit and white screen with the USB connection lost. When I disconnected from the USB it quit and nothing brings it to life again: whether I used the on/off button, reset, reconnection to USB (assuming the battery to be dead). This particular unit does not live up to the advertised functionality (AV analog movie making - the connection was erratic interfering with the signal input.) The unit is great when it works - music especially, but the instability resulting in this totally failing unit mars the overall reputation of the A3.

Terrific sound

I've had this player for about six months. It is the third iAudio player I've purchased. The sound on this thing is fantastic. The navigation is pretty easy, although I would like to see some small modifications. The FM radio gets great reception. I agree with another writer above who says that Cowon customer support is poor. Even the Knowledge Base isn't very good. I've been pretty happy with my player anyway, but this would be a much better product if Cowon gave better support.

A Little Disappointed

Memorex 700MB/80-Minute 52x CD-R Media (30-Pack with Jewel Cases)
I purchased these CD-Rs because they were advertised as having jewel cases, which to me always meant the old style full size cases(which I prefer), but it seems the term jewel case now applies also to the slim variety of jewel case which I could have just as easily bought at the local Best Buy or wherever without shipping cost or waiting for them to arrive. I shopped for them on Amazon because they are becoming hard to find with full size cases and I thought Amazon would carry a wider selection and I would get what I was looking for. One other problem, the discs have no labels or cards to write down what is on the disc after burning it. I guess I have to buy those separately, which I would have, had I known they wouldn't be included with the discs. I know the discs themselves have no problems but the advertising is lacking.

So, yes I am A Little Disappointed

Great specifications but bad first experience

I was excited to receive my Cowon A3. I immediately updated the firm ware from the web site. The screen then went white and would not respond to any commands or resets. I contacted Cowon tech support. They could not figure out the problem after several emails and asked me to send it in to Cowon for repair. It appeared to be DOA. I sent the unit back to Amazon instead for a refund. I took a chance and ordered another one. After one use it seems to be fine. Time will tell. Great specifications.

what I needed but, not sure

This is the reader I needed to view the items from my 4gb mico SD card. it worked great with that card. When I plugged in my 1gb Xd Card it did not recongnize it. I was trying this on my work computer and I took it all home to check it out on the home computer and the home computer died that night, not because of this device. I tried my Xd card in another computer and it worked fine. I will try the Xd card again and see what happens once I get my home computer working again.
So it worked great for the 4gb Micro SD but, it has not worked for my 1gb Xd card yet.

Great speaker stands!!

It's great to get a product and it lives up to your expectation. They are sturdy, easy to assemble and do what they are designed to do. It's GREAT!! I also appreciate the reasonable price for one pair so I bought two.

Over the door media storage

This storage set is not worth the price if you have the same thoughts I do about media storage (Quick & Easy). It does not hang over the door as suggested but needs to be mounted to the door or to a wall, leaving the hangers behind. It doesn't hang as should and both shelves need to be mounted for proper use. It really doesn't take up much space behind the door, ours has plenty of room so it doesn't get in the way for us. Overall it really isn't worth a second thought, just put up some shelves and save yourself the thought of saving time and money by purchasing this storage set, because this one is not quick or easy and more of a hassle than what it is worth.

If I hadn't bought all those CD's I'd be able to afford real furniture.

Yes, that's the ironic thought that popped into my head as I finished building this massive monolithic altar to twenty years of misallocated cash. Here I am putting together furniture that could just have well been presto logs that I paid a little over a hundred dollars for in order to hold a collection of 1080 CD's which if bought new at $12.00 each would be almost $13,000 or enough to fill the entire room where this thing now resides with fine furniture made of real wood, with a real finish of real varnish, etc.

Anyway, it took my wife and I about two hours to put this CD shelf together. It wasn't difficult; there are just a lot of shelves and things that need to be put together with a piece of furniture this size. (I really would like to see someone put this together in fifteen minutes!)

There are a couple of "gotchas" that the instructions don't tell you about. First, the eight screws that go in from the bottom don't screw in flush with the wood; they stick out. Bad news if  more

I was looking for a simple, portable way to get a digital media collection on the TV (without dedicating a PC to the TV), and this IOGEAR player does the job very well.

This is something the non-geeks can understand and use right away. The controls are intuitive, and they seem to have got the details right (a DVD ripped to sequentially-numbered video files plays back just the way you would want: each file right after the other in numerical order).

I'm using this for kids, and it's good to be able to move their video collection from house, to car, to friend's house. It would be nice if folders on the drive could be password-protected to block non-kid items. Another nice feature would be a Bluetooth or WiFi interface so that the media could be loaded from afar.

Pitiful sound volume

I bought this for the bathroom for when I shower, brush teeth with an electric toothbrush and use a waterpik, all things that produce some noise that a device needs to rise above. The eGo Waterproof Sound Case cannot do it. When you get to the level where you can start to hear it better it starts to become distorted and may even drop in sound several levels, forcing you to bring it back up. This may be a good device for floating on a quiet lake when you don't want to disturb too many people. Otherwise it's a waste and I will now have to shop for another one.

Aluratek MicroSD / MiniSD USB2.0 Multi-Media Card

This product does all that I was expecting when purchased; however, I wish there was a model that would also read my Nikon's XD memory cards. But I knew it did not when I purchased it, so I am totally satisfied.
It affords me the ability to read/write various type card data when at work. I have all these slots plus an XD slot in my Sony VAIO Media PC, but have the need to read/write data at work sometimes and the PCs provided by my employer do not have such slots in their PCs.
I recommend this product to anyone who has access to such memory cards but have no such read/write slots on their PC. Handy for use for friends and family too!

Great Value, Nice Looking!

You require a Phillips screwdriver to fit some screws, this is an easy assemble, takes about an hour to do the entire thing, just be patient with the first part of the process, once you get it, the second part of the assembly it's a repetition of the first, looks really nice, people with little patience will find it aggravating, but if you enjoy building stuff, than you'll enjoy this, all panels are properly labeled and instructions are easy to follow, all the screws come in a little labeled package, with letters differentiating each one of them and for what you should use them for.

I love the way this thing looks, and it feels very sturdy, I LOVE IT! :D and it holds a whole bunch of DVD's without taking too much space, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Good Card Reader

I needed a card reader which read SDHC cards and came across this. It has a ton of formats which may come in handy in the future, and also looks nice on my desk. The instructions were sparse; it only had 1 sheet of paper showing where to insert cards. At first, I inserted my SDHC 4GB card and stopped when I felt pressure. However the data wouldn't show up in Windows. After toying around awhile, I figured out I had to push it in a bit more (I thought it might break, but it did not). When you plug in the device, it adds 4 extra "removable disk" drives (which clutters up "My Computer" a bit), so I leave it unplugged until I need to read a card.

I purchased one set to check them out and they were very stylish and sleek and very easy to set up, the sound was excellent iam sure this has something to do with the type of system they are supporting. However i was pleased enough to order a second set just like them to complete my surrond sound. Great buy, great quality, great look,

Great for Audio Books with 2.51 firmware

Excellent player for audio books due to its bookmarking ability. Interfaces seamlessly with the Overdrive Audio Books software used by my library after I "Downgraded" to the 2.51 firmware. I had upgraded to the 2.54 version, but it became difficult to download books, and then the books would not play.

I also would highly recommend the leather carrying case (search for item #B000WPGLL0) sold here by JetAudio. It has a leather flap which protects the screen.
