The last few years have seen a big mess of Spider-man.Films, games based on films...And that killed the games based on the comics. While this game takes more of a comic inspired approach, they go their own way with the story and some other details. Ill let you know what I thought they ddi right, and what they completely burned to the ground.

This is the best Spider-Man game ever made. It's even better than Spider-Man 2 which was so good I've played it for over three years - in fact I was still playing it before Web of Shadows was released.
Web of Shadows takes everything was great about Spider-Man 2 and adds more. The combat is simply incredible. Not only can you engage foes on the ground, but now you can take the fights to the side of buildings, and even into mid air (something I have always wanted to do.)The swinging controls are also good and very smooth. All the controls integrate very well with the Wii-mote and nun chuck.
There are lots of things to do in this game, and although the story mode is a tad short, it's made up for by a large number of side missions. But the main draw here is definitely the combat, and this is something that never gets old. Spider-Man Web of Shadows is the Spider-Man game I've been waiting for all my life. Definitely worth a buy!

Spider-man: Web of Shadows is the quite different from 2 and 3 in the sense that it isn't based off of a movie, keeping the plot original, unexpected, and much more open. Another aspect is the fact that Spider-man interacts with a ton of other marvel super heroes throughout the game including: Luke Cage, Moon Knight, Black Cat, and Wolverine. The newest and by are the coolest aspect of Shadows is the fighting system. It is extremely fluid. Too fluid, as in "I have never seen combos like this in a game before." Awesome.
Another point of the game includes the ability to go from the red to the black suit anytime you want along with making "Good" and "Dark" decisions that affect how the story will unfold. It is obvious that this Spider-man game is heavily geared after the comic books featuring a "Teen" rating with: Animated Blood, Mild Language, and Violence.
Pros:
Combat Combo System.
Larger area to explore.
Ability to Change Suits.
Damage to the City's environment. (Including cars!)

I was extremely surprised by this one. With all of the games out for the holiday season, Spiderman Web of Shadows may fall off your radar. I have previously played part 3 and 2 of spiderman and I didnt like them, but when I saw the video of the combat of this one on XBOX Live I thought I may give it a shot. I am glad I did, in this game you really feel like Spiderman, I just completed PT 2 of the story and I have a lot of Air Combos, special moves and assistance Characters. The coolest part about this game is the new fighting system, it makes the game very enjoyable. You can fight most enemies entirely in the air once you level up. You can become evil or good at different points throughout the game and that determines which characters assist you as well as the ending (guessing) but you can still switch between the standard (good guy) red and blue and the(evil) black costumes at will, and even mid combo, which makes for some pretty interesting gameplay once you master the game (your friends

Awsome Spidey game. Swing, crawl, and fight the way Spidey should have been in all the other games. I have not had this much fun with a spidey game yet. BUY IT,you won't be dissappointed.

Well, for this game it really comes down to one simple question. Are you a big fan of Spider-Man? I've been reading the comics since I was 5, own all of the movies, most of the old games, and even have a tatoo of the black suit spider on my arm. I've also played nearly all of the Spider-Man games from the Super Nintendo Nintendo ones to the N64 Spider-Man to the movie games and Ultimate Spider-Man on the PS2. It all comes down to the fact that no, it is not as good as Spider-Man 2 for the PS2 (probably one of my favorite games, and definately the best of the Spider-Man bunch), but it's also awesome in it's own regard.
For one thing, this is the first game since the PSX/N64 ones to be based on the normal Marvel Universe Spidey. As such you control Spidey in a New York that's populated with the comic versions of Wolverine, Luke Cage, and Mary Jane. And you also see some of the sights like Wilson Fisk's building and Stark Tower. Just being able to be in this universe will definetely delight

This is my first Spiderman game that I have played and it is incredibly fun. There are so many features to like about it such as the free-roaming ability to go anywhere in the city and continuously be in action. Changing between the two suits and choosing some of the direction is fun. Also the graphics are great and look amazing on a hi-def tv. Swinging through the city is exciting and has such cool controls and graphics. I think there is so much to like about this game and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I agree with Brian P. Rogers. On the PS3, that's a game. For the PSP is a different game like 2D. And the funny thing is the same on the PS2. I don't understand why they released this game this way like a SNES game when we are in 2008. The videos they have here are misleading since you won't see any of those moves or go around buildings, or see cars running on the roads, etc. To see those things you need a different system, not the PS2 or PSP. And $40? an Atari game is not worth that. They could've made the same game on the PSP, or something similar. They have done it with many games (Tomb Raider Anniversary, Star Wars games, Tony Hawks, Lego Indiana Jones, etc) I guess they are making games different for each system so that people buy the expensive systems.

MY GRANDSON SAVE FOR THIS GAME BY WORKING , BUILDING FENCES...WHAT A WASTE OF HIS MONEY,,HE GOT THIS GAME ON THE PS2. THERE IS NOTHING TO THIS GAME THAT IS CHALLENGING TO ANY PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 2. WE ARE VERY UPSET THAT A COMPANY WOULD CHARGE $39.99 FOR SUCH A GAME, TRYING TO LEAVE A COMPANY FEEDBACK, JOIN IN.

I played most of the past ps spider man games but I have to say this is the most well put together and fun games I have played in a while! Good game over all, I can not complain to much about anything.

This game is not fun even for the most hardcore Spidey fans. I should know. I've been playing Spidey games since the Atari 2600. Let's put it this way. The XBOX 360 and PS3 versions are full-grown video games. This game is the equivalent of a 1995 SNES game. 2D and absurdly poor. The power-ups are weak, the bad guys are insanely easy and the bosses are ridiculously difficult. No voice overs? Come on, is this really a 2008 ready for shelves game? Embarrassing! Do you want to be super mom or dad this Christmas? Spider-sense tingling. Avoid this game.

Way back when Spiderman 2: The Game was being developed, someone had the brilliant revelation that what made Spiderman fun to play as was his amazing ability to locomote. This individual decided that the best way to represent this was to basically create (God forgive me) Grand Theft Spiderman. Riffing on the first line of the movie "My city, my playground" the developers made a detailed model of Manhattan for players to swing through. And by the way, they made web swinging intuitive and awesome. Since this time, all the Spiderman games (of which this, Spiderman: Web of Shadows, is the third) have stuck with this open world formula.
This is both a good and a bad thing. The Grand Theft Auto comparison is intentional, as the Spiderman series has take the best and worst from that series. The open world, the massive amount of hidden items, the seemingly arbitrary spike in mission difficulty, the inability to find ANYTHING until you've spent hours wandering around lost until you've started

Despite a general lack of professional reviewing before its release, I took a chance on the $60 purchase of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (WoS). This Spidey outing, again from Treyarch, features much of the same gameplay and dynamic that we have come to expect from a sandbox Spider-Man game: the "side missions" are similar (i.e. beat up gangs, rescue civilians, etc. for XP points which are used to buy upgrades to spidey's fighting ability). Also, fans of past Spider-Man games like 2 and 3 will be happy to know that WoS is fully 3D free-roaming, and not a "side scroll" format like Spider-Man: Friend or Foe was.
The main difference in WoS and previous iterations of Spider-Man is seen in the combat dynamic- it is definitely the greatest improvement over previous games. Spidey is now able to "web strike", or aerially attack, enemies in various different ways that is really successful in bringing across the acrobatic ability of the comic book hero. In fact, Spider-Man's combat abilities are the

The other reviewer has it correct - this is a side scroller/2D and it's LAME. It is nothing like what the marketing would have you believe. Save your money and get Star Wars The Force Unleashed instead. I went to the Activision web site and left them a negative message about this. What a rip off. If they're gonna release a side scroller in this new millenium, they should at least make it clear on the cover of the game or something.

I was eagerly looking forward to this games release, especially because it is a Spider-Man game base more on the comics than the movies, with an original plot and story. I have heard great things about the PS3 version of this game, unfortunately the PS2 version is an entirely different game. This game is a side scrolling game with no 3D control at all, the game play is repetitive and boring. Basically you can move side to side and fight enemies with a punch button or a kick button, and climb up and down walls, that's it, you can "buy" special moves for your character, but they don't really do anything. After about the third bad guy you've basically played the entire game. This game reminds me of the Total Carnage Spider-Man game for the Sega Genesis from 1995, but even worse as you can't even control your character up or down in the depth field of the environment. This game is sub-par even to the original Playstation one Spider-Man game, or even to the Sega Genesis Total Carnage Spider-Man

I have been using Trend Micro Internet Security for the past couple of years, and it's a good product. My license was up so I decided to upgrade to their Internet Security Pro program, which came out in September 2008. It has extra bells and whistles that improve your computer performance (much like Pitstop's PC Optimize or Norton 360) in addition to internet security and anti-virus protection.
The problem came in the installation. Because it wasn't just a simple 'add another year' to the existing license, but moving from one product to another product, the program simply wouldn't install. It hung up regularly during the install process and then automatically de-installed itself and shut down the computer. Frustrating!
I checked on multiple websites looking for a solution and tried all the ones I found. I talked twice to Trend Micro support people, and tried what they recommended and their suggestions didn't work either. Here's the list of suggestions received and tried that failed:

I got this bad boy a couple of days ago and it works well for me. My elite is loud and thought this would quiet it down but i was wrong so i know have the fans running from inside the 360 and the 3 fans this cooler comes with.
The only thing you have to know is that its a manual fan cooler and you need to turn ON the fans and if you don't, then it just blocks the airflow to the 360 and cause it to overheat. The switch is below the power adapter on the right so you know where to reach to flip the switch.
The good thing is that it does not block anything else that would associate with the 360 like the power cable, wireless adapter and HDMI cable

My little brother and I saw this at a toy store one time and we both wanted to play it because it looked hilarious. Nearly a year later I got my paws on a copy, and have regretted it ever since. I seriously played it for maybe 20 minutes. There were vague "instructions" that were really just pictures rather than something clear and intelligent to read. The controls were so astoundingly different from most every other Wii game I played that it was very frustrating to actually get my Ninja Cookie Guy to do anything. In order to attack with your ninja sword, you're supposed to wave the Wii Remote around. Well, that's logical, that's what they did in Twilight Princess, right? I don't know what the deal was with this game, but I was swinging the blasted remote all over the place for several seconds before the nameless cookie guy would do anything, by which time I'd already lost several points of health. The camera usage is literally nauseating; I played the virtually useless "orientation" level

This is a must have for any xbox 360 owner. I run my xbox 360 for hours and this baby keeps it running cool. I don't have to worry about My Xbox 360 over heating. Uses it's own power supply.
