The Xonar D1 is a piece of garbage. Using the CD that came with the audio card to install the drivers/software on my Windows 7 PC (with a genuine Intel motherboard) the software locked up my computer 5% into the installation process. I had to reboot the PC in safe mode and uninstall the card. I even went to Asus' web site, and downloaded the latest version of the drivers, and the very same thing happened. The PC locked up tighter than a drum just seconds into the install. And yes, I disabled the onboard sound card via the BIOS prior to installing the card and drivers. I wouldn't waste your time with this card seeing that ASUS provides no telephone technical support. Look for another company that can be reached by telephone and that makes better products.
