I bought this unit about 6 months ago and it has been working really well. It is simple to operate and the recordings are great. I had two other less expensive DVD/VCR units by (one of them was a Magnavox) but they were really poor quality. I'm glad I paid more to get a quality machine. I should add that I don't have a new, digital TV. I have an older analog TV that keeps chugging along so I don't know how this unit would behave with a more modern TV.
