Bought this unit for a friend. It was on sale and was much cheaper than the equivalent Ipod. Now that i have used it, I would pay the full price and more! It is so much better than the Ipod. Navigation is simpler. The sound is better. Screen is crisp. Battery life kills the ipod.
The only thing that it does not have is the touch dial, but the simpler navigation makes up for that. AND it has a radio!!!
I honestly cannot see how the ipod competes with this product... reading all the reviews, it seems like you have to try one to know what you are missing....
27 March 2009 - Note, This is 4 weeks after the original review. I have bought a unit for myself as well even though i have another mp3 player. This player is incredible. I have tested the Noise Cancelling mechanism on a train by simply playing the music so low that i could not hear it. The earbuds muffled some of the ambient noise but when i switched the noise cancelling system on, I was blown away. Apparently there are microphones on the outside of the earbuds that pick up the ambient sounds. This is then sent to the processor and the processor "kills" the ambient sounds by using destructive sound waves for those ambient sounds. I am not that Tech savy but all i can say is that it works!!! This is truly an amazing unit.
