I did extensive research and it came down to this and the lg42pq30... I bought the lg because they are top notch when it comes to their plasma tv's...samsung is good for their lcd's. Anyway, something was missing when i set up the lg, and my gut told me to exchange for the samsung in 10 days. Long story short............ my wife came home and when she saw the samsung, she said," oh yeah this is much better. The images are crisp and well defined"
About the sound, I did get use to the nice sound coming from the lg, but since i use it in my bedroom and not my living room, sound is not of the essence

To be honest both sets deliver an amazing picture quality, I doubt you saw the same material with both set and found out that the samsung was "much better". I have had both and I can tell you they are both amazing, I wouldn´t know which one to keep if I had to let one go. the lg does have better sound tough...
