Pros: I loved the auto focus... during a safari some pics have to be quick!
Cons: So far, I love everything about the Canon EOS Rebel T2i!
My husband and I took this camera on a safari and it was so easy to use on auto focus. We never knew when a photo opt was going to be -- whether it was an African bird flying by or a Spotted Hyaena darting across in front of us. There were moments we had no time to set a manual focus. We mainly used the Canon EF-S55-250mm zoom lens (bought separately). We had plenty of opportunities for still photos as well using the manual focus-- we captured two lazy leopards laying in a tree; along with giraffes feeding on the tree tops. The quality of pictures this camera takes allowed us to make large canvas prints for our wall. While we have had the opportunity to travel some, I have always considered myself a beginner photographer and have previously used only a small point-and-shoot camera. There is no comparison to the quality and the zoom capabilities the Canon EOS Rebel 2Ti camera has to offer. I will say, this camera has settings that we are not familiar with or able to use yet. We will have to read more in the user handbook and we plan to take photo classes so that we can use this camera to it's full potential. We recommend using larger SD cards when on vacation or have plenty of SD cards on hand. They seem to fill up fast. (This will allow you to avoid wasting time and camera battery going back through the photos taken on your camera trying to delete some to gain space.) The battery more than lasted through a full day of photos from daylight to dark. We just charged it each evening. We are totally happy with our camera and would recommend it for purchase.
