When purchasing this card looking at the box you think its just going to blow you away with the super high resolutions that it states on the box. Well thats not necessarily true. Old games run nice and fast with just a bit of lag whenever there is to much on the screen. Now i must admit i havent gotten my dual core processing computer yet(though i will) and for the moment i'm using an Acer with a Celeron running at 2.8 Ghz with 1.5 ghz of ram, so yes this could be effecting my Frame Rates. Anyhow heres a good list of some games i've tried and had mediocre to good success with.
1. Bioshock- Smooth at 1024x786 res. (BE SURE TO UPDATE YOUR FORCEWARE DRIVERS)
2. World Of Conflict-Great at 680x480 and details on low to medium, just horrible any higher than that.
3. Oblivion-Decent with some hesitation with everything set to high on 1024x768, note higher resolutions were very choppy, possibly due to the processor.
4. Clive Barkers Jericho-(DEMO)-Good on 890x846 (strange resolution), descent on 1024x768.
5. Lost Planet Extreme Condition-(DEMO)-Suprisingly good on both 800x600 and 1024x768, this game definately favors Nvidia as opposed to ATI.
6. Painkiller-Battle out of Hell- Older game but pretty much the card can take the higher resolutions of this game with no problem.
7. Painkiller Overdose-(DEMO) Good but not quite as good as the old game, obviously there have been some graphical upgrades here although you can barely tell.
8. Unreal Tournament III (DEMO)-Plays pretty good on 1024x768 with high details, also really really smooth on 800x600, remember folks this is a mid-range card so don't expect miracles.
9. X3 Reunion-(DEMO)Critics said this game was intense graphically they werent kidding, the lowest the demo allows is 1024x768 and even with low details the card just couldnt "seem" to cut it.
10. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (DEMO)-Plays better than i thought for a brand new game again both on 1024x768 and 800x600 not bad for a 119$ card from Best Buy, i neglected to say my card is PCI-Express so it may be a bit quicker than the AGP version.
11. Infernal-(DEMO)A lot of people criticize this game for being repetitious but i really like it, plays great on this card, and i'm just gonna be honest the characters and "some" of the surroundings looks JUST AS good as Gears Of War, no S#%#.
Lastly-F.E.A.R-Runs excellent even at high resolutions this seems to be one of the best smoothest running games with this card i've done yet.
Next on my listto try- Prey, Condemned Criminal Origins, and Medal Of Honor-Airborne.
Anyhow i think that will suffice for now, just remember a card in this price range isnt going to be a major powerhouse of a card, the 512mb of RAM is very helpful but i do believe you would be better off to just go up a notch to the 8600 GT or even the ATI X1650 they both will run things a good bit smoother than this card.
