Troublesome for Beachgoers

I ordered this for our trip to the Caribbean. I was really impressed with the safety features but it was quite a hassle just for beachgoing and snorkeling. It is recommended that you don't leave your camera in the case in the heat/sun and if exposed to salt water you must clean and reseal the waterproof seals every time it is in the water. I found that other than not having digital photographs a disposable waterproof camera was more suitable for me. I would imagine if you planned a day or hours on a underwater trip this case would be more suitable.

It works as expected

I used this case during a trip to Cozumel. I had no problems with it. the device worked fine under 140ft deep dives, and the camera had no problems in it. Its use is simple, even though a bit of memorizing of what each button does (in the camera) helps a lot.
Looking at the LCD under the water is tricky - hard but no impossible. It comes with a viewfinder that might solve this problem, but I did not take it with me so I could not use it, sorry.
It does float, but it did not cause problems to me - I don't have the extra weight to make it negative or neutral - I did not feel like I needed it.

Overall, very happy with it. The pictures looked great - excellent combo.

Great product

I am very pleased. I like the way I have full camera controls and can do everything with the camera that I can do with it outside of the case. I think it is a mechanical engineering work of art...

I bought this housing just before I went to Cabo San Jose for week of fun in the sun and water. Before I went I went to a local dive shop to talk to them about special precautions to prevent fogging and they recommended some moisture remover capsules which Ikelite recommends for their housings. These help remove the humidity and prevent fogging. Plus, if the case leaked, they would abosorb the water. I bought them and fit two in the housing with the camera.

While in Cabo San Jose, I went snokeling and the housing worked great though I only went down twenty feet or so. And the pictures I got were great (via the camera A85) and the camera stayed dry (via the case). I can't speak of deep water performance yet, but I am very pleased with the case so far.
