MAN!! I finally was able to figure out how to overcome all the obstacles SanDisk mounts for a non-geek user. The obstacles:
1) The manual included with the player is close to worthless. The one included on the CD is better though, as mentioned elsewhere, is not exactly normal user friendly.
2) Plug in the player to your computer (mine is Win-2000 3+ year-old desktop) after, of course, you figure out where that might be. (Well, ok, not so hard, right next to the plug for my iPod.)
3) Great. Now I can load some songs! I go to Windows explorer to see if I can see the new removeable drive show up. Nope. Mine didn't. So I downloaded the recommended software -- Rhapsody. Can Rhapsody see it? Nope. Tried this and that, looked at the doc and finally called Tech Support. After a minorly tense conversation, I finally understand that the help desk person wanted me to change the USB setting from the default MTP setting to "MSC". Success!! Ok -- that's nice I can see if from Explorer, but I can't

I got this 4GB Sansa two days ago and I'm very pleased with it. I only paid 129.00 here at Amazon, compared to 169.00 at Walmart. Anyway, I loaded over 2 hours worth of video (2 episodes of Family Guy and 2 episodes of Friends),and 300+ songs, and I still have 980Mb left! It also has a Micro Disk slot so you can keep adding more files. I was ready to shell out 250 bucks for the Ipod Video, I'm glad I bought this Sansa. The only issue I have is with the buttons, it's kinda hard to press the buttons around the spin wheel, other than that, I'm quite satisfied. I guess it just takes a little getting used to.

I got my Sansa e250 back in Feburary of 2007-and I use it everyday and it's been serving me well! I found it for about $50.00 at my local Radio Shack-I have no clue why Amazon was trying to sell it for so much...in any case-this Mp3 Player is amazing! There are things that are great about it-and a few that aren't so good. Pros: -Pretty big screen for the size of the player. I really liked that. -The wheel glows a really cool blue when you turn it. -You can adjust how long the screen stays on, how bright the screen is and even how long the e250 can remain Idle before shutting down -EXTREMELY GOOD battery. I've never had to replace my battery-even after having the device for over two years, and my battery life is still around a good 20 hours. If you watch movies though-the battery dies faster. -Since it's discontinued, you can get accessories extremely cheap. I bought an armstrap for only $.25! -It has a radio! -It has a microphone. Some people may never use this, but I used it to

i bought the sandisk E200 mp3 player . First of it arrived 7 days b4 it was scheldualed to arrive , so thats a huge plus. Everything was intact and as described on the site, screen is nice and bright and crystal clear, sound is emaculate, even on the lower quality stuff i have put on it........the only downside i have found with this devise is the wheel you use to change the volume or scroll thru the options and songs, its absolutly horrible, you spin it one way and the menu will go back and forth never allowing you to land where you want , however for the most part their are ways of getting around using the wheel such as the next line button which is slower than scrolling but its contollable . That is the only thing i can say bad about this player .Works great with windows media player .I bought a micro sd card 4 GB high capacity and i think it may not be compatible as it doesnt recognize the extra memory, but just means go with the regular 2Gb micro sd card instead .......Everyone should

Purchase this for the secretary here at work as a belated Administrative Professional's Day gift...she loves it...she has never had an MP3 Palyer before...so her rating is just joy to have it...she has nothing to compare it with...But, as the purchaser it came in tact and in good shape with nothing missing..that's a plus.

After losing my primary MP3 player I was looking for a replacement. I've owned several Sansa devices in the 512MB-1GB range but wanted something with a bit more capacity and features. I was also interested in using Rockbox as the interface since I had heard many good things about it. I settled on a refurbished Sansa e250 player since it was well within my price range and the version I found is compatible with Rockbox. After receiving the unit I plugged it in using the Sansa proprietary USB cable that came with it to charge it. I played with the standard Sansa firmware before deciding to try Rockbox. I downloaded Rockbox and followed the Sansa e200 series instructions to install it. While installing it the display changed from "writing" to "disconnected" though I hadn't touched anything. After about a half hour I manually disconnected the unit and restarted it. It was bricked! Fortunately there are instructions online as to how to put the unit into maintenance mode and I recopied

The Sandisk Sansa E250 is just like new, no scratches or marks on the case. A few years ago, my husband bought one new, so I was very familiar with the product and put it to the test. The price could not be beat and the player is fantastic and working like a charm.

Of course, I recommend this product to a friend! Both of these were purchased as gifts. I enjoy my own and hope they both do, too. They are easy to load and have a great volume control feature. Delivery was extremely prompt. As usual, buying from Overstock lives up to a very high standard of customer service. It's why I keep coming back time after time. Thank you.

This is my third Sansa because the first two were so easy to use & download the music I had to get a third one for my 10 year old son. I also have an ipod & it's not worth the money you have to pay for it.

i have had this mp3 player for a month and it is everything i thought it would be and more. cant say enough good about it. fm stations come in good and the ease of the interface is great. even my 60 year old mother found it to be a breeze to work with.

I bought this product for my 7yr old son b/c I have one. The sound quality is amazing, even at full blast there is no static. My son has no problems operating the player, very easy to maneuver between screens. The pictures and video are also excellent. This is a great value.

I bought 3 of them for my kids ranging from 15 to 21. They loved it. My son downloaded 250 songs by the next day and was excited to know that you can buy extra memory cards for the MP3. So, the amount of memory is pretty much endless. This is an awesome product and recommend it to anyone who wants a good deal.

Worked great out of the box. You can find the manuel and everything online for it. The software for transfing videos does crash a lot, but the product itself is very stable.

I love my MP3 player it is so easy and it is much better than my old one. My only gripe is that I can't figure out how to delete the music that was already pre-loaded on the player. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase..

These are nice mp3 players the navigation is a little hard to control, but so is the ipods. I like the fact that it has a fm radio, but it doesn't get to good of reception where i live. I think it is better than the ipod, but not too much compaired to other mp3 and mp4 players.

It keeps freezing up and now this time after trying to do a update on it, it is frozen up and won't clear up. I have taken the battery out for the night and this morning it is still stuck on "database refresh". Can't seem to get a good solution for this on going problem either. This has been going on for about a year now, but this time it has had it I guess and is ready for the trash. I would search other places for product review besides amazon before buying, because there is a whole lot of other people out there having the same problems with this and the other 200 series as well and customer service is poor. I will never spend money on a SanDisk product again.

If you use your MP3 player for music only, my one star review is very harsh. For the money, it is a decent player if you never listen to anything over five minutes long. However, if you listen to audiobooks or podcasts, do not buy this player. I have used about a dozen different players over the past few years and I have never ever seen one so ill suited for playing lengthy files. There is no bookmarking feature and the fast forward is so slow that it is completely useless. You cannot start and the end of a track and rewind back to your spot either. Worse yet, it seems like the designers almost were determined to make it impossible for someone to maintain their spot on a long track. The record button has a hair trigger and is very difficult not to accidentally touch, and you had better manage to listen to that audiobook on one batter charge, because recharging will also cause you to loose your spot.

I bought this MP3 player thinking I was going to get just an MP3 player but I got so much more. It has a built in voice recorder which comes in handy in college during important lectures and moments I feel smart and need to say some thing and don't have enough time to write it down. This MP3 player also carries your photos and movies. It came with this compact disk you put in your computer, which makes it easy to up load movies into your player and T.V shows too; which is cool because I got to watch Gridiron Gang and smallville on it lol. It really comes in handy in situations were you're board too ha, ha. The great thing is I got it for $59.99; I dropped it tons of times and it still works. I also bought the clear case for it, it makes it a whole lot better and safer too. the MP3 player it self plus with the clear case is way lighter than an ipod. It also comes with a usb drive to connect and charge to your Personal computer :) pluse theres a wall charger sold for it too; just search it

I am pleased with the product, but when I purchased the Sandisk and didn't realize that I was purchasing a reburb item. I was either not understanding the screen or it was not obvious that this was a refurb item. I saved a whole $10.00 buying reburb. I am still pleased with the item, it is easy for my kids to use.

I got this for my TWEEN, who's 10 yrs old, she doesn't leave the house without it. I was a little leery about buying this item due to being marked as refurbish, but I'm very happy with my purchase.

Just got this for Christmas and love it, works great. Easy to upload from computer and unlike an IPOD you don't have to up load ONLY from Itunes. I got an IPOD last year and it froze up the first week, and it was new. So I would say for the price the sansa is a great option for anyone who want's a simple mpr player for home/car ect.

This is a sharp looking MP3 that looks real stable. The price was great, we gave this to our 10 year old for Christmas, we don't have to worry about being out $100's of dollars if it gets lost, stole, or broken.

Bought this for my boyfriend as a x-mas present and he loves it! Wayyyyy better than an ipod, can do the same things for alot cheaper and your still getting 5 star quality!

This product is nice however the product was a refurbed item. The headphone jack on the MP3 player is defective, only one earbud will work unless you move the jack to one side. There's nothing like giving a broken item to your kids on Christmas......

I gave the Sandisk to my son on Christmas morning and by 1pm that afternoon it stopped working...won't turn off or on...no video no sound no nothing. I realize I purchased a REFURBISHED product, but it should work longer that 5 hours!!! Would not recommend this product from this seller!

I love this thing. It was so easy to operate and downloading songs was a quick copy proceedure. My technology challanged parents could even figure this one out. The features are impressive as well. I bought this for my son but now I want one.

If you're trying to decide between and this and an iPod, iAudio, or whatever stop agonizing and get a sansa. It's sleek, has a built in microphone, audio and video playback, fm tuner (quality of recording off the radio isn't stellar, but still cool). Rhapsody support is available for those who are in dire need of an iTunes-esqe setup. At the end of the day, great mp3 player that doesn't screw you on the price.

I have never owned an Ipod Nano, which would be a comparable product. However, I can say that the Sansa e250 seems to be a better option for the price. It has FM stereo radio, a voice recorder (you can also record FM programs), and has a slot for a micro SDcard to expand the capacity. It is extremely easy to use and has a battery that can last around 15 hours (specs say up to 20 hours). The sound quality is excellent. It's only drawback is that loading songs from a CD to the MP3 player is not as friendly as I would like. In order to be able to keep your songs grouped into folders, you have manipulate the songs in the folder through the Windows Media player to insure that all the songs have the same album title. This is somewhat cumbersome when you are mixing songs into a folder from different CD's. The on-line support given by Sandisk when you have a problem, is very good. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

First let's get the obvious out of the way. This player has great features for its price like:
Micro SD expansion slot (Up to 2GB of additional memory), FM tuner, recording voice or FM radio, 5 band customizable equalizer, photos, video, drag and drop available, User replaceable battery (unlike the ipod that you have to send back to get the battery replaced)etc.
I use it mostly for music and what I would like to share is my experience uploading music from WinAmp.
-CD's of house music or similar genres are mixed and you would like to hear the songs in order and without any skips between songs. To do this, create a playlist in Winamp with the songs in the order that you want them.
-When you connect the Sandisk e200 series Winamp will recognize it and show it in the "portables" section of the media library.
-Right click the name of the playlist, in the options select "Send to", it should be a "Sansa e260" option (e2xx depending on your model)
-Be sure to do this in MTP (Media Transfer

I've bought 2 ipods already, once four years ago and again 2 years ago. The first stopped working, I mailed it back to Apple, and they told me it was no longer covered by the warranty, because of external damaging to the casing (which, incidentally, happened at the beginning of our torrential but short relationship, and had minimal reference outside of this...) they had the audicity to ask me that, for it to be repaired, it would cost more than I initially bought it for. It was a 15 gig model they were no longer making. We lasted 7 months before my heart was broken.
(Yes, my life is 13-17% better having direct and constant access to music)
Now the second iPod I bought was a Mini, used. It was great, a complete conveniency, but once again it stopped working. This time the warranty was voided because I was not the original owner. And yes, I am nitpicking, Apple is technically (contractually) is their right, and this I grant them. But I am an individual, this was my experience with Apple

Purchased four E250 players for the family. Nice unit. Easy to use with more features than the IPOD Nano for abetter price. Accessories are not as many as the for theIPOD lines, but seem to be getting more plentiful by theday. The E250 is a 2 gig player -- a minimal size thesedays. If lots of songs or higher recording rate is desired, think about the E260-280 versions -- it may be cheaper to bythe unit with the memory desired as opposed to buying thememory separately.

Nice, didn't know these played video. What sort of formats does it handle? I know ipod is severely limited, so it's good to hear about the alternatives.
