Pioneer Inno XM2go Portable XM Radio/MP3 Player - GEXINNO2
The Inno is my first satellite radio. I bought it mainly as a means of getting to listen to new music without having to go hunt for it, or listen to endless adverts. The fact that the Inno is portable was a major factor in deciding on this particular unit.

Pros - its reasonably well made (not as nicely finished as an iPod, but not cheap feeling either). It comes with a reasonable set of earbuds. The XM channel selection is superb!

Cons - the door to the battery compartment is held on with some really flimsy tabs, I wouldn't like to change battery often since these will likely break off after a few uses. The sound quality of XM radio is not as good as I thought it would be (this is not a comment on this radio, rather its a comment on all satellite radios - the talk shows sound like AM, the music sounds like some low bps MP3s. All in all the sound is quite murky and sibilant compared to an iPod and decent earphones. That said, its good enough for casual listening while outdoors.

Buyer beware. The Inno is a good product. XM IS NOT COMMERCIAL FREE. You will not find that on the XM web site. It is a classic advertising ploy. Once you are a subscriber, you will endure the growing commercials which you were trying to escape from regular radio in the first place.

The Pros- Portability, same size as an iPod, storage capacity, intuitive functional controls, easy to read color LCD screen, battery charges fairly quickly (1hr or so) access to all XM and possibly soon Sirius stations, reception has been excellent for me thus far (Portland, OR).

The Cons- Unit is surprisingly heavy for its size, ear buds are good but not great, battery life is short (~4hrs).

This is my 2nd XM unit and I'm very happy with it. I only use it while commuting back and forth to work so battery life isn't a problem for me. I regulary run (40 min) or bike (30 min) in and I'm not a big fan of taking time out of my day to ponder, create, or download playlists. So XM is a great alternative for me. Overall I would recommend this product to a friend. On another note, the reason I purchased this unit from Amazon was 1) price, and 2) return policy offered by the merchant. The return policy is something I would strongly consider in case your area has spotty reception. In which case

I am going to make this simple. I love listening to the radio- always have. I can remember putting on the "timer" on an old-fashioned clock radio in 1970 (11 yrs. old) or so and listening to WMCA, etc. for 60 minutes while I fell asleep. I always resisted satellite radio. Why buy what you can get for free? My wife bought me this Inno & XM service for my birthday, and boy was I wrong. This satellite radio stuff is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Buy the antenna headphone as well- it gets you better reception when sitting in the family room, etc.

I drive a lot on highways so wanted to give satellite radio a try. I once hesitated because installing the external antenna seemed to be troublesome. Additionally, I drove two cars alternatively with my wife but only wanted to have one radio (my wife doesn't like the idea of satellite radio). That means I would need two car kits and do the installation twice.

Anyway, I still wanted to try. I picked up Pioneer Gex-Inno2BK after reading those good reviews at Amazon (the other portable one that I was interested is DelPhi SKYFI3). It turns out to be a big, good surprise: Inno2 does not need the external antenna! Well, I am talking about highways in Midwest, so keep that in mind. It does lose signal occasionally when my vehicle passes under bridges. Actually most bridges are fine, and when the radio lost signal it's just a couple of seconds.

It also works fine in the local roads of Chicago suburban areas where the signal is mostly from terrestrial repeater (with occasional loss of signal).

The problem with radio is that when you flip through the dial until you get to a good song, that song is already (on average) half over. With inno, you can record hours of content from a channel, then during playback you can click through the songs until you get to a good one...at the beginning of the song, of course. Inno sound quality is ok, channel lineup is good and broadens your listening base. Turns out I kinda like smooth jazz....who knew?

Pioneer Inno XM2go Portable XM Radio/MP3 Player - GEXINNO2
I've owned the pioneer inno2 for about a month now.

My uses:
70% listening to news/financial news during my commute
10% listening to commercial free radio
10% listening to songs I recorded from xm radio
10% listening to my own songs, or songs I've bought via napster/xm software

My location: San Diego, CA - North County Coastal region

My opinions:
- works great in the car with the car kit
- works great in my home (my antenna is 5 ft from south wall of my house)
with the home kit
- works great as an MP3 player (but I can't speak for the music
organizing or user interface since I've never owned an I-pod, or
other player), but sounds great to me, and simple enough to play the
songs I like
- works lousy as a portable, pocket carried XM receiver unless you buy
the special headset that contains an antenna loop (that was my
personal experience - though some user's have said it works great
without it)
- I love not listening to tons of annoying commercials just to get the

I picked this up two weeks ago at Best Buy. It was on sale for $200.00. I was going to buy on Amazon but was not sure on the sellers. Great radio. First satellite radio I have bought. I am using Sennheiser PX 100 headphones with it that I bought on Amazon and the sound just blows me away. Reception on the road is OK. I loose the signal on overpasses and if I go low into the ground or get behind an obstruction. But that is were the recorded content comes into play. Just switch over. I was going to buy the Belkin headphones but all the reviews say they are junk so I will wait on that until something better comes out. At home and in the car receiption is good. Very happy with radio.

I bought my Inno2 on Monday. It's my first XM radio, and I've never owned Sirius, so understand that this is a first timer's point of view.

What I *love* about this unit: You can record XM radio, and replay it later. Where I work and use the unit mostly is in an office without a way to use the required antenna for reception. Even though this unit claimes to be portable, it still won't work indoors, w/o direct line of sight to the satelite (read see the southern sky.) BUT, you can record up to 50 hours or so of XM radio. You can recored multiple sessions of different stations, which is very cool. I like liquid metal, alt rock and gangsta rap. I recored about 30 hours of music this week, brought the docking bay into my office, and listened away. You can also build custom playlists from the recorded music (from different sessions, channels, etc, mix and match as much as you like.) When you record sessions of radio, it saves the songs like MP3 - w/ artist and song and genre info.

Pioneer Inno XM2go Portable XM Radio/MP3 Player - GEXINNO2
I've had XM for four years, and this is the third type of unit I've had, and it is, by far, the best. I owned the portable Delphi unit, which worked fine. I bought this Inno for a friend, and when I saw it, I fell in love and bought one myself.

Why I love it:

Size: It is small, and sleek. It comes with a little leather case to protect it (bravo to Pioneer for not making me spend another $30 on an after-market case!) on the go.
Reception: It has an internal antenna - that little stub on the top of it in the picture is the antenna. Unlike the old Delphi, no need for an external wire clipped to clothing for reception; the reception is GREAT and smooth.
Battery: I haven't gone out all day yet, but after three hours yesterday, the battery was still over half charged. The battery indicator is clear as well. BTW, the unit comes with a slight charge, so you can "play" with it right away; no maddening "please wait 8 hours before first use."
Recording: Easy to quickly record a station,

Pioneer Inno XM2go Portable XM Radio/MP3 Player - GEXINNO2
I've had this radio for a few weeks, and I think I can give an accurate review now. This is my first time having satellite radio, and I love it! The station selection is awesome, but I will not go there because I am not reviewing XM.

The Inno is sized about the same as an iPod, and it is really sleek (and slick for that matter.) As this is intended for all around use (car, home, and portable) it is very adaptable. I think it is very neat that when sitting sideways on the dock the Inno automatically switches sideways so you can look at the screen face on. The pad adjusts as well, so everything is very logical.

Some of the main features that are impressive are:

--The recording capability--even if you are almost all the way through the song you can get the whole thing!
--The bookmark capability. You can bookmark an artist or a particular song and anytime that artist or song is playing on any station the Inno will let you know so you can switch over.
--The ability to create a "favorites"

Unbelievable device, sound quality is fantastic (iPod quality, at least) as is the satellite signal (in Durham, NC). Like owning 100 iPods at once. I'm really surprised that this thing isn't more popular.

I upgraded from a XM Roady. I like that it is portable, battery powered, you can save favorite songs, load it with music from your CDs and listen to it anywhere. The Napster software that comes with it for management of playlists is not a favorite, but it works.

I have had an Inno for about 5 months and use it 6-8 hours a day. In general, it is a really good device. If you are an XM listener, I would very much recommend the Inno.

The best feature is the recording capability, especially since you can set up 'timed' recordings, like Tivo for XM. I have it set to record shows at night or early the next morning, and listen the next day, skipping the comercials. You can tell it to record the same time every day or just for one day. If you listen to Sonic or to any of the talk radio stations this makes your life much better.

The reception on the internal antenna is spotty. And, there does not appear to be any consistency when it does or does not work. I get great reception inside my gym, but not in my backyard!? In general, if it is sitting still, like on a table, it will home into the signal okay, but if you are walking or driving around, it fades in and out (unless plugged into an external antenna).

A lot of people talk about the battery
