The game was recommended by a sales associate in the Northgate store in Seattle. I thought since the games was $59.99 it better be good....NOT.
First time playing it, the disc wouldn't load correctly, second time crashed in the middle of a track. I have the Elite and I never experienced anything like that before! I would never buy a Forza game!

This is the greatest Racing game ever, the Graphics are far better than all the other racing games available(when i wrote this), the environmental details(trees, buildings, shadows, dust, burnouts, curves) are amazing, the sound is great, its a long game, long enought to be a challenge, short enough to finish it before getting bored or mad, and the cars, for gods sake, the CARS! In my personal opinion, they're the greatest thing ever, and you cant imagine the details, graphics, and quantity of cars in this game.

Let me start out this way, you'll feel like sometimes you're looking at tapes of a race that has already taken place somewhere in the world... I can't say enough about the graphics, they are absolutely amazing. The customization options, both cosmetic and under the hood are phenominal. With every decal application, turbo kit, and engine swap you'll love this game more and more.. Greatest racing game I've ever played hands down. Not to mention the wide array of cars. The one thing that kind of has me bummed is that the speed simulation on it feels very slow until your cars can hit 150MPH and upwards, but maybe that's just me. All in all, this game is a must have, you will love it.

great game with great graphics, and a great variety of cars. the setup, abiltiy to customize, play with friends, use a real wheel, and feel as if you are in the car all make this game a must have. There is no reason to not get this game.

Everything you could ask for in a racing game! The graphics are excellent and difficulty is highly customizable for any skill level. Best racing game since Grand Turismo in my opinion!

The game is great for people who are new to video games, i.e. my 55 year old dad, and challenging enough for experts. With the racing wheel it is amazing, without it is still an amazing game. There is tons of customization, and if you don;t want to spend the time creating your own car you can download rpactically anything off of the interent. A must buy for a fan of video games, racing or not.

Amazing to use with the Microsoft force feedback wheel. Certainly worth the price if you plan on dusting it off from time to time. Next best thing to having the full driving setup at an arcade.

Great game and a very superior Simulation Racing game. The physics system would give Michael Schumacker fits until he got the overall feel. It takes a bit of time to get everything down so that it doesn't frustrate. Great fun and an ultimate time killer.

This is a great game, alot of fun. The graphics are incredible. Also, I'm glad it's a multiplayer game, and not just for xbox live. Many racing games you can't play with your friends, but this isn't one.

I haven't played a real racing sim since Gran Turismo 2 on the PlayStation, so this review is coming from a person coming back to the racing sim, after a long break. I had been tempted to buy this game at its release after hearing all the hype and good reviews, but I held off until black Friday, to get a good deal. I am very pleased with my purchase. Take 10 did a really nice job on this game. Graphics show some high production value, but I wish the lighting effects would have had more attention. Running at a solid 60 FPS in HD, it runs very smoothly and looks nice. I wish there would have been more detail on various things outside of the tracks, but the cars themselves look really nice and life like. The cockpit views look pretty nice but could use a little more polish. The damage the cars take isn't much to look at but it's nice to see that these cars can take damage. Gamplay is really amazing. I played with the Xbox 360 controller, not the wheel. All the controls work like they should

I have always been a Forza Motorsport and fan since the first ones came out on the original Xbox. The difference in feel from FM II to FM III is drastic and the in car view makes it that much better. If you enjoy racing games or own a previous FM game, the purchase/upgrade is definitely well worth it!

Let's put it this way.......as far as racing games go, once you've played Forza 3, you can forget the rest. IT'S THAT GOOD !! Especially cool is that you can tweak it so that even the beginner player can enjoy it as much as the most advanced player. TOP 5 in XBOX 360 for 2009!! Race fans DO NOT HESITATE.

Everyone knows what the game is about, so I'll cut to the chase. This game allows you to race and customize over 400 cars. You can paint, apply vinyls and all sorts of other cool stuff to make your car look virtually any way you could possibly imagine. You can tune the game to suit your racing ability like enabling some features, but not others. Enabling some features allows you to earn extra money in the game without having to bend over backwards to win races. Drive crazy amounts of races on massive amounts of track.

The only flaw I see is the handbrake, and either I don't know how to use it properly, or that's the way it is, but even at low speeds, even tapping the handbrake will send you spinning wildly out of control. Besides that, the game is virtually flawless with its pristine graphics and large achievement list to keep any gamer involved for hours.

Getting bored after few races, can't make details Customization of parts for cars as it was available in Forza 2. Good Painting Options
Graphic is way Better.

Finally, a car game where the cars actually respond the way they would in real life. Realistic driving games in the past have always had a problem that the cars just dont respond quite how they really would. Forza 3 has solved this problem, and it makes it more fun. Every car handles differently and true to how they would in real life. The car reacts to the way you drive it, the way you expect it to, and also to the environment. Having this ultra realistic physics engine means you are able to anticipate when you are about to loose it in the corners, even though, you cant physically feel the forces on the car. Result: awesome fun. Best driving game ever.

The details of this game blow Need for Speed out of the water but I enjoy their series better. Its not a problem with the game its just I don't like the genre. It is a more intricate, sleeker and slightly more interesting NASCAR game.

Great racing game. Better than Forza Motorsports 2. Selection of cars in the game is unbelievable. Navigating through the game is simple an easy. Suggest if you have an extra 20 bucks by the limited edition to get the 5 extra cars that you can't get with the regular edition.

I've been looking forward to this game coming out for a very long time now and now that it is finally here, it was definitely worth the wait. The graphics are impecable, the features numerous, and the realism is as close as could be to the real thing. From the moment I put the game in my 360, it has not come out yet, and will not come out for a very long time to come. There are honestly too many good things to mention them all on here but the things I think need some "honorable mention" would have to be the variety of cars (400+) which are all customizable, the different difficulty settings where in most games you have easy/medium/hard and that's it but in FM3 it has those 3 options but within them are subfunctions which you can turn on or off, depending on how difficult you'd like your racing experience to be, which I think is also good for those who are either new to racing sim's or video games in general. In the past I always tried to get my fiance to play FM2 or NFS and she would always

I have both Forza 2 and Forza 3. The online experience is a bit disappointing compared to the Forza 2. There is no way to compete on line in any class below A. Otherwise I think that the game is as good as the old version, in some respects better. I like that you can see the dashboard of the car you are driving from the inside view.

This game made me buy an Xbox 360! I saw a demo and I had to have it. Playing it took a little getting used to the standard controller. I even tried out the wheel and didn't immediately like it very much. Perhaps with a little practice (just like the standard controller) it will become easier. I really like the racing tour and graduating up to better and better cars. It's also fun to just pick a car and a track and have fun. I have been to the real Laguna Seca (Mazda Raceway) a million times (sadly never raced there) and the game track is extremely realistic. I actually own a red 08 ZO6 Corvette and I can thrash my exact car around the track (without damaging the real one).
I would definitely recommend.

Forget Gran Turismo. Forza is the new king becase of the ability to paint anything on any of your cars. Visit the storefronts to buy designs other people made. The graphics are top notch. This time there's music during the races. The menus are quick to navigate. The races do take some loading so get used to a minute or two of loading. You can also take pictures and upload them to your storefront where you can even download them from the forza website. One other bummer is no lan. no system link. if you plan on using this game for lan play each xbox must have a gold account.

The UI is fresh, but over all provides incremental improvement over Forza 2. I highly recommend the Forza series for track racing and the Project Gotham series for city course racing.

- This is racing at it's finest. There are a ton of assist that the player can turn on or off (replay, braking, drive lines, stability, etc.). So anyone from a newby to racing to the grizzled veteran of racing will love it.
- They have kept the best tracks from Forza 2 (New York, Maple Valley, etc.) and added a ton more. There are some great new downhill tracks with crazy views.
- This game is beautiful flat out. The cars and tracks are so well designed.
- Gameplay is incredible with season play, race play, quick races, time trials, there are a ton of modes to enjoy.
- And the famous car design, graphics are back and better then ever. You can customize every car in your garage, then share them on line or buy/sell/trade them to other drivers.
- As perfect of a racing game as you can get. Play as an arcade or as a simulator.

If you have played Forza 2 you will love the graphics in Forza 3. The scenes are fantastic. The new cars for the game are great also. The game is great for Forza Motorsports fans. The thing I did not like was the change in cars that were carried over from Forza 2. In the new Forza 3 you can not get the car upgrades that were available in Forza 2 so your favorites from 2 will not have same capablilties in 3 which is a bummer. Other than that the newer cars are great. Overall it is a must for Forza Motorsport fans and anyone who like racing games.

This is an awesome game, it looks awesome, comes with a ton of cars and Tracks, so much so that it comes with a second install disk for your Hard Drive. Everything in this game is customizable the cars and the difficulty especially. It's also really cool that you can rewind the race to back where you messed up and play from there, a welcome feature on those longer tracks. If you really want to be challeged you can really crank up the difficulty. You can make it so that the cars is harder to drive or how tough the AI is. I myself have refrained from using the rewind feature (too much).
This is a great game that anyone can play because of the customizable difficulty and the rewind feature. Kudos to MS.

Its a great game, but if you have F2, you have basically played this game too. I don't feel like this game is much of an improvement other than more cars and more tracks. In fact, many of the tracks are the same tracks that were around since the original.

Still a 5 Star game, but if you have F2, don't upgrade unless you are a gearhead and NEED this game.

Best racing game for Xbox. Easy to setup, get the wheel though it makes it alot more fun! You might not be as fast but it adds to the realism of graphics and sound. I have friend who never played racing games before and were able to get going pretty easily and progress and hone their skills quickly. I love it for the realism and in depth tuning that can make you go from fast to hero if you set your car up right. Get this game, and you won't be disappointed.

Its a great game. The Season mode really guides you through and trains you as if you were a new driver to go all the way and become a pro. The game-play is absolutely amazing, and graphics stunning. I love the fact that they allow multiplayer split screen option. It makes it easy to enjoy the game when people are over your house. I give it a 5 and definitely recommend that you purchase it.

First, a little background. I am far from an obsessed racing sim fan, I don't care too much for fine-tuning cars, and have never played a racing game using manual gear shift. Nonetheless, I like playing racing sims with assists turned on, just because sometimes I want more than the mindless fun of burnout-style arcade games (which I love).

In all these expectations, forza3 delivers. But more importantly, it acts as a very good introduction to racing sims, with multiple customization levels to match your style of play, while also encouraging you to explore more. I started playing the game on easy, happily cruising the races till I got bored. After bumping up the difficulty a bit, things became interesting. I started quick upgrading my cars, and keeping an eye on the numbers. Finally, I turned off even more assists, started manually upgrading cars, creating vinyl groups... basically spending a lot of time not racing. The nice interface helps, of course :)

If you're a fan

I'm not sure why there is a difficulty rating at the top... you set the difficulty how you want it and either have a challenge or destroy the field... it's your pick.

Anyways, this is by far the greatest racing game I have ever played. When I got my steering wheel and pedals, the fun and excitment vaulted even higher.

I love this game, I've had tons of fun playing it and I will continue playing. There are a lot of options as far as customizing your car, and especially to fine tune everything. The tuning is particularly exceptional and in-depth. I also like the controversial Rewind Feature which allows you to rewind the game at any point to improve on your mistakes. It helps avoid playing the same race over and over again.
That said, I'll focus on criticizing from now on.

First off, it was disappointing that the game has a large install CD that comes with it.
All the loading times (and there are many) take forever, and you'd think it could be avoided since so much of the game is already installed on your hard drive.
Also, you can't customize the body kits, there are no dirt, snow, or any other special conditions events. No weather changes or any different types of weather.

And, being a racing fan, and not specifically attached to a console or brand, I have to say that Gran

This is an awesome game. Very fun and entertaining. I never want to stop playing. There are a lot of cars to choose from, and I have even found a Dodge Ram to drive! The race tracks are great, and the music ain't so bad either. Graphics are exceptional and pretty realistic. The Hire a Driver feature seems to work differently than in Forza 2 however, so be aware of that. Overall this is a tremendously fun game. Well worth the retail price of $59.99. Would recommend to anyone.

I haven't played the multiplayer mode as of yet, but can certainly attest to the entertainment value of the incredible single-player mode. Once you get past all of the reviews from people whining about their spectacular scores/lap times being demolished because of the new timing rules and game physics (real racers get penalized for dropping wheels), and actually see the game for what it is, you will find it to be one of the most accurate racing games made for the XBOX 360. Turn 10 revamped and tweaked the physics engine with absolute precision for this version of Forza. While there is still a very slight difference from the hyper realistic sim racers of the PC world, the quality, detail, and vehicular accuracy is excellent. Over pressurized brakes lock as they should, suspension gives and tightens with the dynamics of the track, and vehicle components wear out and break down much as their real-world counterparts would (although this is one area the realism could be tweaked for future

Now some people like arcade games, like Burnout. Other people like something a bit more realistic, such as Project Gotham. But this game is a full out, no joke, extremely detailed simulation which is supposed to be taking part of more of a motor racing simulation, instead of some physics exaggerated arcade piece of junk. Now if you are into those arcade games, get something like Burnout or Full Auto and forget about this game. But, if you want a realistic, detailed, high end, stunning graphics game that will give you the effects of real life along with fantastic features such as endless customizing, finely tuned cars made to be just like their reality equivalent, and a beautiful selection of cars and tracks, than this is the perfect game for you; and apparently it was for me.

Finished my 5th season of Forza 3 and have driven the best cars in the game and all the tracks. I enjoyed the game offline. The driver assist items make it so even so-so players can do well. People looking for the Gran Turismo experience will find this gets close, but when the full version of GT5 comes next spring, I doubt the majority of people would save Forza 3 beats Gran Turismo 5. Forza 3 is a great fix to get you by until Gran Turismo 5 comes out. MS could do themselves a big favor by updating the online system to give players the ability to be in online groups like they want. If they fixed the online experience, I would say Forza 3 is an overall outstanding game, but instead I will say it is a really good game that has issues with online play.

As an avid racing game enthusiast (and racing enthusiast, car guy, mechanic etc) I love games like Forza. It hits everything I need it to. Or at least it should. There are two major problems with Forza 3 and one minor one. The first being of course at least for me, is the Invalidation of your times around a race track. I never thought I would say this but I miss the overly harsh and nonsensical penalties of Forza and Forza 2. (Your lap time is already borked, if you get in a situation where you got a penalty anyway, or at least wouldn't be as fast of a lap, so penalties are stupid anyway) This time around? Oh no. They went and one upped the shenanigans now, if you get a little bit off track (and I mean just part of one tire in many cases), your lap time is completely invalidated and won't show up AT ALL on Leaderboards. Oh and the same applies for your race time too. That alone would cause a major issue to me. But it doesn't stop there. No sir. Of course if you hit someone (or they hit

I purchased two of these for my husband and son. If I had read the reviews first, I would have known that I was wasting my money on the second game, as system link has been eliminated. The first two Forza games had been so enjoyed by them, so I was really excited to see a third Forza game coming out. Total disappointment - they have enjoyed playing in single-player mode, but I did not need to spend the extra money for that. Huge mistake in eliminating system link in my opinion.

Probably the most fun racing video game I've ever played! Way better than Need for Speed. Over 400 cars ready for you to race once you put the game in the console. Also comes with free downloads. Graphics are great and car detail is percise. A must own if you love video games in general.

When you start this game get ready for an adventure. You are in the driver's seat of some of the fastest but also some of the slowest cars available. Honestly the slow cars are more fun, and you can jam a turbo on pretty much anything! Unfortunately on some cars the turbo doesn't kick in until around 100 mph and if the shocks are set too hard you might skid off the road. Don't worry about it though you can customize the gear ratios to prevent rotational slip.

I couldn't wait for this title to come out and now i know why. You have two discs of cars to choose from. The racing is awesome. If you are a beginner you can still enjoy this game with the abs braking function. If you are an experienced driver you can turn off the assists to earn more experience and money. The graphics bar none are the best of any 360 game to date. The game has a few slow loading times in the auction house and loading maps but hopefully that will be ironed out with an update. Seriously if you like racing you will never get tired of this racing macine.

(NEG)If you like the way a bus handles then you will like this game. Every cars handling is extremly tight. There is no way these customized sports cars would handle this horribly. The collision effects are about the same as Need For Speed Underground and the graphics seem to be a few years old PGR 2 has better graphics. It also has the same problem as Grid on hard the front car is extremly fast until you pass him then you blow them away so you end up racing by yourself why have other cars on the track if you only see them on the first lap. There is no feeling of speed 100 mph feels like 50 and 50 feels like 15. When applying decals to your car you can't mirror a decal so you can't directly match one side with the other. You can't customize the interior and there seems to be only 2 choices of ground effects per car and sometime's 1 or none. I have owned every NFS, PGR, and Forza and this one tops the list as biggest dissapointment and worst handling.

First, the background. I played Forza Motorsport 1 and Forza Motorsport 2 (FM1 and FM2) on Xbox 360 using the multi-screen capability. I have 3 Xbox 360's linked on my LAN and connected to 3 HDTVs to provide a three screen wide view of the road and car. Yup, very cool, but I tell you this so you can see where I am coming from, not to be showy. Here is what I like about FM 3. 1. The added tracks make for more variety in this game and may make it appeal for longer 2. The graphics are slightly improved and all views have a rear view mirror (or two or three) 3. The car behaviors seems to be just a little more realistic and certainly less skittish than FM2 4. The penalty system works. Lap times are either clean or dirty, and clean times always list before dirty times. What makes a lap "dirty"? If you hit anything, go off the track, draft another car or are drafted by another car, or didn't have a clean last segment of the previous lap. There is no time penalty, you just get your dirty

A great improvement over Forza 2. I was getting sick of racing games after so many dissapointments from n4s. I can honestly say that i was impressed with the overall design of the game and everything is where it should be. It does take a while to load but if you have an hd it takes care of this issue. There are just so many tracks and all of them are flawlessly replicated for us to enjoy. I like the Auction house option because its a great way to new cars at a discount. Overall u will not be dissapointed. Go get it.

If you are new to Forza I recommend basically reading the other reviews here or at gaming sites as for the most part they have it right. It is a good racing game/SIM with very good physics. Turn 10 might get the concept (and be able to make it work in a game) of grip better than any developer. If you are thinking of buying Forza 3 for the single-player and never plan to go online you will likely be happy with your purchase as the game is much like Forza 2 with better graphics, tracks and cars. If you are thinking of buying Forza 3 for the online experience I HIGHLY recommend you do some more research (check out MP threads at [...]) as you will see that Turn 10 basically removed a core functionality of Forza 2 multi-player and replaced it with a Halo-style matchmaking system. By this I mean that Turn 10 has taken away the ability for you to go online and set criteria for a type of race you want to find. At this point, all you can do is pick a basic type of race and car class (even though

The Single Player experience is phenomenal. Easily the best racing game I've ever played. The Multiplayer is absolutely atrocious. They removed everything great from Forza 2, and there is no matchmaking for any classes below 'A.' Also, if you don't have Xbox Live Gold, they screw you by removing ALL options from Free Play. If you don't have Live Gold, you have ZERO options when free playing a track. You will always do 2 laps against Easy opponents--ALWAYS. If you have Gold, you can create a private room on Live and have all of the necessary options, but if not, you're out of luck Lastly, they completely removed system-link play. Remember all of those great times you used to have System-Linking races with your friends? You can't anymore. Local tournaments? Not possible. In summary, the Single Player campaign is fun, but the Multiplayer is absolutely horrendous, the System Link is non-existent, and Free Play (for non-Live-Gold users) is completely jacked.

I don't know anyone who buy's this game for the single player mode so the multiplayer aspect is mainly what I'm reviewing. In short if you're buying the game for the multiplayer you're going to be very disappointed. When searching for games this is the procedure: You select Go Race, Multiplayer, Find Race (Private Race is for racing friends only), Circuit, then the class you want. When you select the class you want it tells you how many people are racing in that class. You then get put in a random lobby with other people who've selected that class (nobody hosts the games anymore). This is similar to Matchmaking (the game doesn't actually have Matchmaking) but you don't get put in a lobby with people of the same skill. Also it doesn't even bother to put you in a lobby with people who speak the same language as you. There are no options to configure when searching for games (other than the class you want). You can't host a Public lobby (that anybody can join) and so there are no game options

To the first person that wrote a review. I have played the game for the last couple days. I got to a level 20 and it does get harder at that point. Earlier in the game the A.I. cars are slower even on hard. It is by far the best forza and the best racing game ive ever played. I don't know how Gran Turismo 5 is going to compete with this but im sure it will. The tracks and scenery look amazing especially on a HD tv. And now that added an actual drag and drift game mode. Which is one of the best things for me because all I did was try to build drift cars. If I would have know there was a vip edition with all the cars unlocked I would have bought it instead of the normal one.

I think this game looks great but it does not seem to be as fun as Forza 2. I dont like the racing calendar. Its very annoying. The analog display is useless and the in car view should be able to see the dash instrument better so i dont have to try and see the analog display. Looks like they focused on the graphics and tracks and not so much on the fun of racing. And the drag racing is the worst.

I have no played Forza 3 for about 6 hours time. This is by far a great upgrade from the previous version of the game. First the graphics are a real step up from Forza 2. You can really see detail in the roadway, stands, environments, and now there is also a fairly well done in car view that you can drive from.

The car customization continues to be a major plus for this game as they have added a couple more tweaks that you can do to the cars as well as a lot more to the livery editor. Also they have added a storefront where you can buy cars, decals, and car designs. This is great since now you can specifically buy a car design for a car rather than just trying to find a car that has a particular design on it that you like. Also, for people that are creating great designs you can be addes as a favorite by buyers and sell any of your designs over and over again. There is also a sort option that lets you sort out the most downloaded, top rated, and newest. But as I said if you are

It's often said the the third time's the charm, and in the case of Forza Motorsport 3, that couldn't be more true. FM3 manages to improve upon it's predecessors in almost every imaginable way. If you've played Forza Motorsport 2, you're probably aware that the game wasn't designed with casual gamers in mind. FM3 changes this, and finally brings the franchise to a level that it has appeal not only as an uber-realistic racing simulator, but also as an entertaining racing game that just about anyone can pick up and enjoy. The addition of autobraking and rewind undoubtedly make things easier on newcomers, while the tweaked physics engine and ramped-up AI will give even the most die-hard Forza fanatics a run for their money. With over 400+ cars and 100+ tracks, one would be hard-pressed to get bored with this game. Without a doubt, the two most significant improvements are the graphics and the new "Storefront". Forza Motorsport 3 displays in a native 720p (upscaled to 1080p by the console)

On the topic of the damage issue i think the full game release will have more realistic damage graphics more like the online trailer avalible on the website.

other than that the demo was the best demo i have played for a racing simulator.

I have already pre ordered the game and cant wait to pick it up on the 27th.

Great game. I love the fact that there are new tracks, and not the boring ones where you put a track in, ok lets do it backwards and call it a new track, or cut out parts of the track, its all cr@p! so new tracks is a plus and cars. What I dont like is the drifting garbage! Who does that stuff? its like saying chess is a sport? who cares if you drift? If you drift in the game while I'm online Ill just go ahead and crash into..drifting serves no purpose.........

From the hands on experience Ive had with Forza 3, I can safely say that Turn 10 is listening to the fans. From the inclusion of drifting leaderboards to the new way user content is distributed, fans of the series can say that there words did not fall on silent ears.

new features:
-manual clutch button
-cars can roll in collisions (or because of bad driving)
-new game modes and a revamped career mode
-in game "stores" for selling user generated content such as paint jobs and tuning
-new graphics engine delivers 60 fps
-in car cockpit view
-rewind button and braking assist allow for new players to learn and enjoy the game
-replay mode is vastly improved

I am anxiously waiting the arrival of the full game. Its gonna be sweet. Check out the demo on xbox live for a trial.

They recently release the demo for this game and it is PHENOMENAL! My own mother (who typically doesn't play video games) played the demo and got 2nd place on her very first try, 1st place on her second try. This game is really going to be great for really anyone! The graphics are stunning!! Lets just say i have a couple of days requested off from work for this game. I'm soo anxious to get it! :D:D
