I am Amazed that it Really is a Step up From the HK-354 it replaced.
I did this so the 3-D would work with HDMI Pass-through, but it is remarkable how much the normal picture has improved for all sources.
Just GREAT!!!
HK fan for many years… They build the best amps into their stuff… the high current capability is no joke!!

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Pros: Accurate Controls, As always superior sound, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound Quality
Was easy to set up, buy way more diffacult then the Onkyo that I bought at Xmas. Not sure why the HDMI and RCA inputs are not labled any more, as my older HK AVR was easier to set up. DVD mode cuts in and out like a tenager ducking their choors. Not sure what to do and need to return it and I miss my 5 year old AVR already!

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Pros: Great Sound Quality
I owned the AVR 7000 prior to this and needed an A/V receiver that has the ABUS capability. Not as powerful as the 7000 but good enough to deliver that HK sound. I like the fact that the Zone 2 runs on a different tuner but I wish they had an easier way to switch it on and off from the remote. Loved the fact that it already had the firmware upgrade for 1.4.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Pros: Great Sound Quality
My experience with old (JVC) receiver is like watching Akira Kirosawa Dreams on a black and white Tv.I didn't know sound, depth, and color until I purhased the Harmon Kardon 3600.The set up I have to say was simple and the experience afterwards was phenominal.I also appreciate the control of the receivers power output that guides the clarity of the focused sound detail to your listening ear.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Pros: The sound quality
Cons: Had to order on line, not available in the store
The Harman Kardon AVR 3600 is one of the best reciever I have owned. The HK AVR 3600 has plenty of power to drive the most demanding speakers on the marked. The HK AVR 3600 producess the best sound quality with it's ultra-wide bandwidth. The sound is clean and runs much cooler than it's previous model the AVR 354 which I also own. I am so glad that Best Buy is carrying Harman Kardon Recievers again.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Setup, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
I started off with a low end receiver, thought it sounded good at the time until i upgraded to a middle of the line receiver. that was huge difference. then a few years after that I got the HK AVR 445 and that blew the middle of the line receiver out of the water. it was great. and now i got the HK AVR3600. wow everything about it is better. placement of the inputs are a little more organized grouping of the outputs are a lot better and the onscreen device setup is way better. I absolutely think HK makes the best receiver's in the game. 10/10 i say.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Price Paid: $[...] Shipped Free Owned a little over a week at the time of this review: I bought this receiver at J&R Music World to replace my Carver C1000A which was recently taken out by lightning. I wanted something that I could eventually use as a preamp like the Carver but would have more updated features. The sound of this receiver is simply amazing. I think it sounds better than the Carver actually. The set up was fairly easy using the onscreen menu, I tweaked the speaker settings after running the room equalizer as several reviewers had done. The video settings are straight forward enough and you just have to play with the settings to suit your preferences. I am using B&W speakers in a 5.1 configuration with my weakest link being an Acoustic Research 12" powered subwoofer. Watching movies the sound quality is clear and detailed and depending what I am watching it feels like I am in the movie. I hear sounds that I have not heard before, I am starting to wonder if my C1000A had a bad amplifier or processor section? The Bridge works well with my iPhone 4 and I agree with other reviewers that the onscreen menu is a little hard to use if you have a large selection of music stored on your device. Again the sound quality is excellent to me, although it lacks the warmth that most digital sources do. I have to buy a phono pre-amp still to use my Micro Seiki DD40 turntable but I have great expectations. The remote is quite large and bulky but it's fairly well laid out. It is usable none the less but I plan on buying a Logitech Harmony One in the future because I have too many remotes now. Given the price paid I don't think I could have found a better quality AV receiver.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
I had this receiver for about two days and the SQ is off the the charts. I know everybody talks about how many problems the H/K's have had, but so does everything thing else made in China. I have this receiver hook up to a 5.1 setup of 700 chorus Focals and I'm not looking back. I had a rx-v1900 yamaha hook up before this and just wasn't very happy with the sound. Picked this receiver up for around 600 and with the SQ it maybe the best deal going, if you have high end speakers. It wasn't made for speakers with a faint of heart, to hear every detail you need good speakers. This is my first H/K, so I don't take sides and I think this is the greatest sounding product I have ever heard. Don't let bad reviews turn you away from this product, if you are looking to hear everything that music and movies has to offer this is the product for you.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy Setup, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
This is a great receiver from H/K. Much more powerful than the 80 watts per channel that it is rated. It is easy to setup & with a firmware update it is capable of HDMI 1.4 to handle 3D movies.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
YOU'LL LIKE THIS RECEIVER IF... YOU LIKE LOGICAL SETUPS AND MENUS A GOOD SELECTION OF NEW PROCESSING FORMATS SLEEK DESIGN IPOD CONNECTIVITY LACK OF NONSENSICAL BELLS AND WHISTLES NICE ON SCREEN INFORMATION ORGANIZED BASIC REMOTE WITH CLEAR OPERATING FUNCTIONS LIKE TO TRY DOLBY VOLUME THAT LEVELS VOLUME CHANGES ON A GIVEN SOURCE YOU DON'T EXPERIENCE HDMI ISSUES LIKE ME YOU WON'T LIKE IF ... THE REMOTE IS TOO BIG AND CHUNKY CAN'T GET USED TO THAT WEIRD VOLUME KNOB UNIT COMES SHIPPED BROKEN LIKE MINE LET ME EXPLAIN... FAULTY UNIT ACTS UP WITH VIDEO DROPOUTS AND BLANK SCREENS BOTH IN AND OUT OF HDMI BYPASS. BOUGHT FROM HARMAN DIRECT AS REFURBISHED UNIT THAT WAS APPARENTLY NOT. THIS IS MY SECOND PROBLEM WITH A/V RECEIVERS AND I WOULD NOW RECOMMEND SPENDING A LITTLE MORE AND GETTING LOCALLY WHERE YOU CAN RETURN IT IF DEFECTIVE. THESE THINGS ACT UP MORE THAN YOU THINK. THE SOUND FROM THIS UNIT WAS ON PAR WITH OTHER A/V RECEIVERS, AND NOT NECESSARILY ANY MORE TRANSPARENT OR AUDIOPHILE-LIKE THAN OTHERS. THIS GOES FOR THE AMPS OR THE PRE-OUTS IF YOU'RE THINKING OF USING IT AS A PROCESSOR ONLY. IF YOU DON'T GET A DEFECTIVE UNIT, IT IS CERTAINLY A GOOD VALUE, JUST BUY IT WHERE YOU CAN RETURN IT CONVENIENTLY. ONE STAR BECAUSE HDMI BYPASS IS A MUST IN TODAY'S HDMI WORLD OF GLITCHES, AND YOU NEED THAT TO WORK IF YOU ARE TO REMAIN SANE IN THIS AV WORLD. THATS A DEAL BREAKER FOR ME AND MANY OTHERS.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy Setup, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
The good:
Made my existing Klipsch speakers sound so much better. The sound is so clean and crisp. Useful, well thought out features. Automatic setup with the included mic is surprisingly accurate and needed only a little tweaking. Clean look and design. Good "wife acceptance factor".

The bad:
Remote is unnecessarily huge.
iPod interface (the dock iii) is slow and sometimes takes a few tries to connect.
On screen UI for iPod dock is clunky and doesn't really make good use of "big screen" real estate.

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
This reciever is incredible. I am running Bowers and Wilkins (B&W) 600 series speakers with it, and it sounds amazing. You hear incredible clarity. I had an older model that the HDMI port stopped working on, and I sent it back to HK and they shipped me this model which is quite a bit nicer than the old model I had. The video quality on this is quite nice-- I run all my video sources into the receiver with HDMI (xbox 360, PC, blu-ray, dish/tivo) and run one HDMI cable to the TV. But... you should buy this reciever for the SOUND. It does have 7.1 but nothing really uses this format, so the extra $500 or so on those 2 extra speakers isn't worth it IMHO. It also has a second zone, which I'm using for speakers that are wired to my patio. I ordered a second unit (the 2600 model) for an additional living room. If you have small (bookshelf) speakers consider the 2600 model-- the 3600 model is great for tower speakers. It puts out plenty of power, the HK receivers are high-current, so 85 watts in an HK is way more than 100 watts in a Sony. The sound clarity is excellent, and I recommend pairing it with high-quality speakers (B&W 600 or CM series are an excellent choice).

Harman Kardon AVR 3600 7.1 Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver with iPod/iPhone Dock
The AVR 3600 unit arrived completely defective and non-working. It was purchased directly from Harman Kardon. Harman is very good at avoiding warranty claims and does not want to replace the unit. First they said that they didn't have my order info. After talking with a supervisor, my order info was found but the Harman rep claimed that the damage occurred during shipping and that they aren't responsible, even though they didn't offer any option of getting shipping insurance when I purchased the item. I never want to buy a Harman Kardon receiver again, with the customer service experience that the company has. Save yourself the headaches and go with a more reliable brand.
