Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish
I use it mainly for my iPod and laptop. Occasionally I use it for my home audio. In all instances, this baby produce excellent sound. Bass was very tight thoug a little short on highs but nothing to worry about. I own a koss portapro and a Sennheiser HD 530 both are very good headphones but I like the Grados better because,I could hear every instrument very clearly. Consumer Reports rated this headphones highly and I agree wiith their ratings hearing is believing.

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Comfortable, Detailed Sound, Durable, Good Value, Great Sound, Long and Thick Cord, Stylish
Professional quality for the price you can't beat.
Very comfortable, able to listen all day.
These headphones don't have an over-powering bass but have a very accurate/detailed sound allowing you too hear all aspects of whatever you are listening to.
Compared to other headphones with more bass that give you a more mellow sound these will give you a more lively sound.

IMO better for listening to rock/classical than compared to techno/rap but will work for all types of music.

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Good Value, Great Sound, Stylish
These sound great. We have some Bose speakers that we have connected to our computer/TV set up and it sounded just as crisp as the speakers. They were a bit uncomfortable after using them for longer than an hour, but have started to give. Feel they will be great feeling in a month. The headphones have a very simple design that is clean. I really like how they look in comparison to all the others available in the same price range. [...]

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight
A friend recommeded the Grado SR80i headphones, I ordered a pair, tried them out and really enjoy how sweet the sound is; not boomy or enhanced, just clear tight music.
I currently live in an apartment and I am unable to fire up my dual amplifier system and listen to music without disturbing the neighbors. With the Grado headphones, I am able to truly enjoy my music as it was intended to be listened to without disturbing the peace.
Thank you Grado and J & R!

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Great Sound
The sound is great. However, everyone around you can hear what you are listening to - they are not "insulated" at all, so the sound travels out.

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Comfortable, Good Bass, Great Sound, Lightweight
The sound quality is exceptional. The range the headphones allow make it seem all the more realistic, as though the band was right there. Clarity is spectacular.

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Sound
This is the second pair I've bought, I got these to give as a gift after I bought a set for myself and was very pleased with them. The sound is beautiful, not too bass-heavy, and the headphones are supercomfortable for long sessions. The only downside is the (kind of ) dorky design, and the cord is way too long. The pros definitely outweigh the cons and for the money you won't find a better quality headphone. Another nice touch: Grado is a Brooklyn-based company—buy local!

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Good Value, Great Sound
The Grado SR80 was listed by Consumer Reports as a top pick. Their recommendation has not disappointed. The Grado family business has taken care to keep pace with audio technology advances while maintaining a legacy of quality. They recommended breaking in the headphone (almost like a car engine) by listening at lower levels while promising the sound actually improves with use. That's a pretty subjective claim to verify, but I have heard more detail over the past few months. They are open-air, which gives it more of an acoustic quality and work fine in a quiet environment.

The downsides: the foam ear pads heat up your ears (and eventually head), particularly in summer and the adjustable head band still isn't the most comfortable arching over the top of your head. And depending on how far you are from your music source, you'll probably want to buy additional cable footage so you can kick back on the sofa and enjoy the music.

In all, a great investment.

Comfortable, good bass, lets your ear breath. I bought these to listen to music while I work, since my Sony 7506 headphones are fatiguing and become uncomfortable after an hour or so. The grados have a wonderful sound, and when properly adjusted are very comfortable for long stretches.

These headphones are wonderful. I have never had a pair of headphones that sound this great. The comfort is also really nice. I can hardly feel them on my head after hours of use. If you want a pair of headphones that give you awesome sound and comfort get these. I read a lot of reviews that made me think these were the best value under 100 dollars. I don't have a lot of headphones that are in this price range, but I can't imagine being happier with a different set even if they were more expensive. I think that the retro look is awesome!

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Comfortable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound
I've bought many headphones over the years and was looking for a good value set for my mp3 player. After many terrific reviews of this pair (for the price range) I decided to try them out, and I'm certainly not dissapointed. Everything from Mozart to Handel to the Beatles sounds terrific, much better than my old Sennheisers. They aren't compact, stylish, or easy to store but they sound great and are built solidly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good pair of headphones around $100.

Grado Prestige Series SR80i Stereo Headphone
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Great Sound, Lightweight
They have a lot of detail. I am used to $800 floor-standing speakers with 250 watt Class-A amps and fell that the Grado SR-80i headphones give very little away in detail. I was surprised as well that they sound great with my mp3 player with lossless audio files. Some say that grados are uncomfortable. I do not find this to be true. They are not the most comfortable headphones I have worn. The foam is a tad scratchy at first but I got used to it. I think they are "comfortable enough".Other:Bass is perfect for my tastes. The audio quality is amazing considering the price. I haven't listened to any higher end headphones. I have listend to quite a few higher end speakers though.[...]

I own a lot a heaphones but didn't have any Grados until now. I picked these up in December. They were ok out of the box, but sound even better after some break in time. I really like these cans. Nice warm, natural, musical sound. I use these with a cmoy headphone amp and the sound comes alive. They are very good without the amp, but sound great with it. Nice sound stage for cans under $100. Solid bass, not over powering, nice mids and good highs. Comfort is ok. Not great, but not as bad as I thought they might be. The ear pads don't bother me. Construction is ok. You should be careful with your cans anyway. The money went were it counts, on the sound. I spent the extra money and went with these over the 60's and I'm glad I did. The best part, these are made in the USA! Don't hesitate to add these to your mix!
