Eclipse SEE2 UV150 VGA External Video Card (TRI904050001/04/1)
Pros: Ease of setup.
I have my laptop with it's native screen plus one external monitor hooked up via VGA cable. I bought this adapter to be able to hook up a second external monitor. It was very easy to setup - I installed the driver and plugged it in and it just worked. This product is not suitable for highly intensive graphics such as gaming or full screen video. But for documents and spreadsheets it works great. I even run a TV application and as long as I keep the window to about one fourth of the screen size it works fine.
Pros: it works
Cons: my laptop gets better resolution
returned it. it worked, no hassle, but max resolution is something like 1600x1260. If that's enough for you, have at it! I discovered my graphics card already supported multiple monitors...
Pros: easy to hook up
Cons: doesnt work all the time
every time the computer restarts i have to unplug it and replug it in for the monitor to come on. Not worth the $60 i bought the one for at full price or the $40 i bought the other one for on sale.
Cons: Requires mulitple reboots to work
I'm running Win7 with a large monitor as my main display and a smaller monitor in portrait mode (going through the UV150). This requires monitor 2 to be rotated. Half the time when I turn my computer on the second monitor is either not recognized, or it will not rotate to portrait mode. I have to restart the computer 1, 2 or 3 times before it allows me to rotate the picture.
Pros: Nothing, for windows 8
Cons: It was sold to us on the pretext of working in windows 8, which it does not.
When we asked the sales representative if this product would work with a windows 8 format, we were assured that it would. It was not compatible, hence, we could not use it.
Cons: everything else
Softwae is easy to install and you use the default Windwos display settings to control the additional display. At first, it appeared to function great, until I moved a window to the new screen. It was very slow to refresh and mouse movement was choppy. I thought maybe it was the old LCD monitor, so I switched over to my nice LED monitor, same results.
Cons: It don't work
I just wasted half a day trying to install this piece of junk. It does not install, it just screws up my original monitor. This is going back, another disappointing experience with BB.
Pros: Easy installation
The performance on the screen connected is not good at all. It s like when you have Windows installed with no Display Drivers. Slow motion and flickers too much. Not even tweaking the settings you get a decent performance
Pros: Great price, performs well
Purchased this yesterday and it works great. I use a MacBook Pro 15" laptop through a BookEndz docking station and was able to install the driver and have this up and running with the second monitor in about 5 minutes. Really nice setup!
This product does not support Windows 8. I've called several times and emailed MadCatz and they don't know when the driver will be ready. I immediately returned the product and cannot use my second monitor. I'm waiting on them !!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Everything, plug it in and go
I use this for two screen display and it works great. There was no problem with it at all. Just plug it in and instant second screen use was right there. Makes doing hundreds of things easier as you can work on two screens at the same time. No more flipping from one tab or page to another or having to work in minimized screens. You can see both at the same time in full screen. This product alone has greatly sped up my computer output performance and productivity for the above mentioned reasons. Great product and well worth the money. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get more from there computer and get things done faster on their computer by using a second screen.
Pros: How easy it works
Cons: Blue LED
Bought this so I could use it on a mac with ProPresenter 4. It runs the Stage Display so it does not need amazing 3D graphics or anything spectacular. The only problem I've found is when I was done, I unplugged the device and then plugged it back in, that was when the mac Kernel Panic'ed. Restarted with it plugged in and had no other issues that I could find.
Pros: Love having a third screen to manage my work
Cons: Drive software bogs down the processor
Loved this driver when I installed it, but soon realized that it was slowing my computer down to the point that I had to uninstall it. Videos were running slowly and audio was omitted. Once I uninstalled the driver, my computer runs normally again, and videos play properly. In all fairness, my 2 year old gateway laptop maybe just couldn't handle it? A newer computer with a faster processor and more ram might be just fine...
Pros: Easy set up
Cons: not wireless
I recently purchased a Dell Duo which allows the use of a net book or a tablet. The computer did not have a place to connect a vga cord to attach to a lcd projector. The adapter works like a charm. You have to change your screen resolution, but hey I did not waste $600 on a netbook / tablet to continue presentations.
Pros: cost to add an additional monitor
Cons: intense video applications would require something else
I bought this item for an HP slimline, you ever try to get an upgrade for a slimline? Well I am able to run my mp3 dj program on one monitor and scan the web on the other, no issues. On my dell computer the on board video card will not run full screen video off my dj program at all, when I use this device it will run the full screen video with only an occasional shudder. Quite an accomplishment considering what this item is. I do not believe it would solve intense gaming issues, but would work well for spreadsheet type applications. There is another model upgraded with a different chip that might help gamers better.
