Cons: THEY QUIT WORKING
I HAD 3 2140 FAX MACHINES ALL 3 QUIT WORKING IN LESS THAN A MONTH OF EACH OTHER. THEY WERE ON SEPERATE PHONE LINES. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ALL OF HP PRODUCTS. SWITCHED TO TOSHIBA LAP TOPS BROTHER FAX PRINTERS .WHEN I CALLED HP TECH. SERVICE ON LAP TOP THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT,SAID THEY SAW THE PROBLEM BUT DID NOTHING FOR ME.TOOK TOBEST BUY AND THEGEEK SQUAD FOUND IT AND FIXED UNDER WARRANTY.

i have this unit and it s%^&# . i hate it!!!!!!! only get about a 100 pages from it before replacing the cartrige. and the cartrige cant be refilled. and the cartrige is pricy $$$$$$$

I needed a fax for a side business, but did not want an all-in-one. I could not find a better deal, and have used a lot of HP products. Works great, fits the need perfectly. I have just started using it, so I can tell about things like ink usage. However, it's an HP! And if you are just starting a business and trying to keep costs down, this one will take care of the need.

Cons: duall ring feautre
dual ring feature would not receive a fax. tried everyting in manual. Swapped for a different fax/printer which allowed me to set it for 2-ring for fax and no problem.<br />The return was painless . I will continue to shop with you. Your customer service counter is awesome.

Fax machine was easy for set up and instructions was written in a simple form for even a person with no experience working with fax machine can easily understand.

The fax works ok. It is too noisy and slow but it works. One bad thing. The cartridge that came with the fax was totally EMPTY. We thought that the fax was damaged and only realized that it worked when we tried it with a new replacement cartridge.We wonder if the seller will be so kind to send us a full cartridge.

This product actually works better than the more expensive HP product it replaced. Through Amazon it was half the store price and got here ahead of the scheduled delivery time.

A total disappointment of both HP and Amazon. Took one and half hours to get the machine set up, partly from inability to understand tech help from India and then when should have worked, paper feeder did not work. Still under warranty, Amazon will return only one-half of what I paid. (cost $67, repay 35.52) Deductions were cost of UPS service to return and unexplained 'refund deduction'. Would never recommend purchasing a tech item from Amazon.

I find this small FAX machine to be very good. It's easy to program and you can leave it plugged in to use if you don't send or receive a lot of FAX's. It prints out a report when you send a FAX. I'm happy and satisfied. I'm also not a super techie, so I appreciate the ease it took to set up and program. Just read the directions in the book.

The fax machine didn't work as advertised; I had problems with the dial tone hook that did not allow me to connect and fax. Product was sent back to HP for an exchange.

In general, this fax works well...especially for the cost. We sometimes have minor issues when trying to fax out, but we have always seemed to get it worked out. We've not experienced any difficulties with incoming faxes. Great product for the price.

I thought this fax had easy set up and good instructions. I wanted just a simple fax machine with nothing else on it. That is what this is along with being able to make copies. It is simple and easy to use. It is much faster than my old fax and has made life simpler. If all you want is a straight fax machine, for the money, this is a great deal. I got mine on sale for under $60.
