Purchased this TV for a guest bedroom yesterday for $499.00. Easy to set-up, great picture in 1080iHD, sound quality is average and many inputs.
No problems with burnt out pixels. (At least not yet.)
No problems with High Voltage hum or whistle. (At least not yet.)
My wife likes it so much, she wants me to buy one to replace a 32" Sony
(4 years old) in the kids play room.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 40" for under $500.00.

I have had two sets after returning one due to a minor problem. But I am very happy with this TV and can't imagine getting a better TV at this size for the price.

PICTURE. Overall the picture is great, especially on stations that broadcast good HD reception. Colors are rich and the picture is smooth and clear. I think the picture may not have quite the sharpness or black-level depth as some more expensive sets, but no one will notice the difference unless you are viewing the TV side-by-side with other brands. The picture does wash-out somewhat when viewed at an angle and may not be the best pick if you have angle seating. I also think it is a little strange that the Hue adjustment disappears from the video menu on HDMI inputs.

One important tip about the picture. Make sure your cable box is set for 1080i output! For several days I had left the output setting at 720p since my prior TV was 720p. When I finally changed the output to 1080i there was a very noticeable improvement

I bought this tv 3 days ago and the total price after taxes was $534. The TV has great pic. quality at a low price. I was impressed with the size and the beautiful black outer edge (looks sharp and clean cut). Also, there is no buzzing after the TV is turned off as some people have stated. There are no signs of red dots (dead pixels) anywhere and the sound is great as well. The remote is a liitle out dated for the TV, but it works. Thanks Best Buy for this great TV at a low affordable price.

The TV is sleek and sharp looking. The picture quality is honestly great. The sound is good. I have no problems with any of this. A 40" 1080 for 500 bucks - huge steal. I have a 47 LG and a 42 visio - I consider myself somewhat of a LED TV buff. As I said, the TV is great except for when you turn it off. There is a very high pitch sound that comes from the right side of it... high pitch enough that I describe it like a dog whistle. Faint but loud enough that in our bedroom my wife and I were kept awake. Faint but loud enough that I have woke up unrested and with headache. This was the deal breaker. It makes me rather sad because such an easy thing to fix during the development of this TV and they didnt fix it. They know this is an issue. It is reported all over the sites. I knew about it before I purchased but thought maybe people were being too picky. They werent. It is so annoying that I just took it back and returned it an hour ago and settled up for a 32 inch smaller LED rather than
