Dane-Elec 4GB Capless zMate USB 2.0 Flash Memory Drive
I purchased this flash drive at Target in May 2009. So why did I wait 'till now to write a review? Because something pretty cool happened today...I had left my flash drive in the pocket of one of my sweaters and my mom did the laundry while I was at school. You know where this is going... My mom pulled out my flash drive and told me that she had found in the laundry. I figured I would check it in a few days, once it was sure to be dry on the inside, but the it occurred to me to ask her if it was just in the washer or in the dryer as well. She laughed and said both, so I decided to check it right away. To my surprise, ALL my files were there, EVERYTHING! That's pretty amazing to say the least. Who knew a $10 flash drive could be so awesome?

Do not buy this product! I had it less than 3 months when it just fried. No warning. I take very good care of my flash drives. It never was dropped, in water, or taken out without ejecting it properly. And then one day, nothing. Save yourself the hassle. I wish I would have seen the other reviews first...

Dane-Elec 4GB Capless zMate USB 2.0 Flash Memory Drive
I bought this 4GB PenDrive in June 2009. Cut to 6 months later, it is no longer recognize by my Windows XP desktop or my MacBook. I have always taken care of the PenDrive; my keychain is always in my backpack in a safe and secure spot. I have ejected it properly when using it with my desktop or MacBook at home, but when I use it at school, the computers at the lab do not let me eject the jump drive by going to "Remove Hardware". Instead, I close all files and have to just pull out the jump drive. This can explain why it died after 6 months of use, but if so, then it's a poor choice for jump drive for a college student. PROS: - Secure keyring which makes for convenient carrying - Comes in different colors - $9 for 4 GB CONS: - Broke after 6 months of frequent use (I am a Computer Science major and do use it a lot) - Cap does not stay on and when it does, it does not cover the USB (which should be the main thing you would would worry about covering) I do not recommend buying it unless you are looking for short-term use.

I worked the first day fine, now I have to hold it a certain way in the drive for it to register.

it doesn't work on my Mac; it does not show up on the desktop. What's up with that? Gotta return it.
