This is a decent product. Bought it because of price, warranty, and connectivity. Good as a second tv for basement, kids room, etc. You will notice some blurring of images. Reminder this is a first-gen lcd at 60Hz. This is very normal with the first LCDs. I only have it hooked up to standard cable signal. Have not upgraded to HD yet as this is my first and only flat screen currently. The picture looks much better when watching DVDs

The price is the best part. I got it on sale for $399. Had to return it though due to a freeze or lock up issue but had no problem replacing it at my local Best Buy. Great for a 2nd or 3rd TV.

This TV is SO close to being perfect. For the price, you can't beat it. This thing plays blue-ray's and DVD's almost to perfection. If you want an HD TV for watching TV, this is perfect.
It's when you start using this TV as a computer monitor that you realize you should have spent the extra money. There is very noticable motion blur. It's bad enough that I tried spelling my name with the trail of colors coming off the edge of my Internet Explorer window. (ok, maybe not that bad) But playing FPS is tough on the eyes.
If you going to game on this TV, buy something else. Otherwise you will be VERY happy.

I had originally went to see the 32" Viera and LG equivalent, but really didn't notice much of a difference in the picture quality between these two and the Insignia. It was also closeout price, $60 less than the other two. I decided on it because I was told it's made for Best Buy by Toshiba, which is another well rated tv, and the warranty is two years. Easy to hook up, great picture, good sound. Noticed that the picture quality was really determined by the cable box or DVD player. A HD cable box has a great picture, the standard cable box better than a tube tv but not as clear as HD. Same with DVD player. Picture was better with my upconverting player than with my older 480p player.

Used it for 3 days now. Pic is great, sound is fine.
Impressed with remote, remote is relatively user friendly to program and use and surprised not only is it a universal remote but has learning functions too if needed.
The remote will run most of the functions of my tivo which is a big relief if the tivo remote should be misplaced.
Miss the pic in pic that my 32" crt zenith had. Haven't seen any PiP featured on any tv this shopping round but not looking at top end sets. Much easier to use remote and move though so I guess it's a wash.
The manual is actually useful and user friendly. It's the size of a magazine and comes separate in english and spanish.
Will look into it's big brother, the 42", this 32" leaves too much space around the entertainment cavity, but I'll have to rig a bracket to put a 42" on an entertainment center that only has a 36" wide opening. :p The 37" would require the same type of backet set up but not any cheaper than the

This is a really great tv.It also comes with a great warranty to,The design is nice and looks alot like a samsung. My only complaint is the sound is very low and you have to put it really high to hear it...I don't know why that is when the sound bar is huge and goes across the bottom of the tv...i think the only thing i don't like about design is the sound grill.the Grey sound grill doesn't match the piano black finish which makes the bottom of the tv look odd,

I have had this TV for atleast 2-3 months and nothing has gone wrong so far. Picture has remained the same, sound is pretty much amazing, I have enough inputs for everything I need, I even use this as a secondary monitor for my laptop (VGA). A couple tips though, if you want the best picture buy a THX movie and inside it will have a HD TV Calibration Disc. This will help people calibrate their TVs to something other than manufacturer settings. Although with most Mid-High end TV's are already calibrated right. And as for the sound, make sure to turn on the HD Surround in the settings menu, even though may not have HD surround set up, it makes a difference ;)

What a great tv! Bought this for my mom's room and we couldn't be more happy with the picture. We don't even have it hooked up to an HD cable box, so the picture we are getting is not even HD but it is just fantastic. Literally pulled it out the box, screw on the stand, and it is good to go!

This is my first HD TV. Amazingly quiet, great picture quality via monster HDMI cables with Comcast HD/DVR and Insignia Blue Ray Player. Great value, got set on sale for $399 ($20 more than the 720p version). TV sits in my entertainment center (barely). I can't use the side controls (too tight of a fit) so I hope I never lose the remote. The TV is a strong 31-1/16" wide. Sound is soso, but from reviewing other TVs, this is a common issue. For TV viewing, not a big deal, for movies, I run the sound through stereo speakers. Love the TV and am glad I purchased it.

I bought the TV back in April. I have no problem with the TV. I have bought the 4 years warrenty for it. I would get the warrenty just in case. I really like the TV.

The pictur quality is great on most of the HD channels but, there are a few that are not as good. This maybe due to the cable provider. Over all I am delighted.

I bought this TV after reading these reviews and seeing the TV in the store. Easy to set-up. After set up, I was really displeased. The picture quality was not "sharp" at all. I have a "samsung" and a "Sharp" lcd that leaves this TV in the dust. My son couldn't believe how bad the picture was. I returned the TV the next morning. Very disappointing. Don't waste your money.

As mentioned above, this TV died after just two weeks. Input #1, my cable TV signal via an HDMI cable, suddenly and inexplicably became green and pink, then full of snowy white lines, and finally, a jumpy, erratic, crazy mess. Input #2, my Playstation 3 via an HDMI cable, wouldn't reproduce sound, and the image would flicker and split into two. My Wii, connected via a component cable, had a clear picture and no sound. Turning the TV off and on again would solve the problems for about 20 seconds at a time.
I was highly satisfied by this TV's image quality and sound in the 16 days that it worked (especially the image from my PS3), but a hardware malfunction on a new item after such a short period is simply unforgivable, so I'll never buy an Insignia TV again. The price is right, but I guess better-known brand-name TVs at this price range (especially 1080p TVs) must be a safer bet. Careful, folks!

I have a media center PC that is connected directly to this TV via HDMI. The setup was easy but it took me some time to figure out why at 1980x1080 resolution, the picture was not fitting on the TV screen. It turns out out that Overscan option in Advanced Video settings on the TV should have been turned off. The picture quality is great: the colors are vivid and the picture is sharp. The sound quality is OK -- probably average for the TVs in this category. The power save mode does not seem to kick in when the PC shuts down -- I might not wait long enough but I would like for the TV to go into power-save mode after a minute or so of not receiving a signal.

Buy this TV before BestBuy finds out how much a good 32" digital monitor costs. And this is a GOOD digital monitor, it even goes to sleep like a monitor. In fact, the picture from the analog tuner in my PC improved more than my live TV. And it's easy to switch between. The TV is also a big step up, so there's no way to say what a value this is.
The sound is good, and there are 3 ways to hook up external speakers if you want better. The remote is pure class (except for small keys, it has SO many functions), it has program keys for 3 other components, and has a hot key for my monitor.
Everything just worked the first time, no guessing, no workarounds.

I just returned a dynex 720p tv for this one, and I'm glad I did. For a bedroom or game room this is perfect. You really need to be about 5 ft away from this tv for it to shine. 37 and 42 is too big. This tv handles all content well 480p -1080p.The sound is more than enough for most rooms this tv should be in. The Ps3 looks as good as I've ever seen too. No motion lag and a great response time help complete this package. I think this tv was made by samsung, the remote looks just like theirs. This remote is an awesome universal remote. It feels good in your hands and responds instantly.
One thing I really like is the back light option. Turning this half way down will conserve electricity by about 30 percent and will prolong the tv's life.
Overall I am blown away with the performance of this set. This truly is a Best Buy. Oh yeah, GET THIS TV!!!!

Fantastic picture with 1080p for only $500! Most sets below 40" offer only a 720p picture for the same price as this. 4 HDMI, 2 component, a VGA, & 2 S-video/composite inputs, plus a standard antenna lug means your can hook up about anything. And to top it off, you get a 2 year warranty while most other brands only give you 1 year. It'll be hard to find a better deal than this Insignia set when you consider a comparable set with a well known brand name would be at least $100 more with half the warranty. Go with Best Buy's Insignia brand.

This is my first flat screen HD. I was blown away! I have watched several friends set which were much more expensive, this Tv is easily as good. And hook up was a breeze. 30 minutes or less from box to enjoying the product!

We got this tv when it was on sale for our new house. It looks amazing and works wonders in our house. The stand turns so I can watch the tv fine in the kitchen as well. The picture quality is amazing and the tv has plenty of inputs for all of my games. The sound is also very good. I do not have speakers hooked up to it, but is still fills the room with sound. The tv does have limited picture sizes, but my cable box fixes that problem. This is the best TV for under $500.

Went to BB to replace our old set in the family room. They didn't have the one we want in stock. While walking around, we decided to replace the one in our bedroom. We saw this 1080p for 499, it looked better then the others, which were 720p for 499+. When we got it home, I set it up in the family room, on an old computer stand, to make sure it worked. We were wowed by the picture. The sound is good for something this size. It stayed in front of our old projection set for 4 days, until I had to put it in the bedroom, because the grandchild was coming over. I wasn't sure about the Insignia brand, but now I'm sold. I'm planning to get another for the guest bedroom.

Bought for my husband for Christmas. Once set up we were impressed with the whole product. It was easy to setup. The picture quality was great, the HD picture was crisp clear. Being able to change settings with one button/one step from the remote is wonderful. Setting up my laptop to this TV was a breeze. I'd never done it before and it was so easy I didn't have to pull out the manual. I'd recommend this TV to anyone.

We were looking for a HDTV to replace our old "tube" TV in our living room. We put our 32" 720p Westinghouse in the living room and bought this 1080p 32" Insignia to put in my bedroom.
While shopping at BestBuy, we were looking at Samsung and LG 720p TVs that were around the same price. We weren't sure whether to get this one or not because it is 1080p for $500 which usually means bad quality considering most 1080p TVs are up in the $1000 range. But we got it and it's great especially for the price.
In the box, there is the TV, tabletop stand, screws to mount the stand, remote with a holder, instruction manual, and a set of component cables. The tabletop stand was a little hard to put on but it swivels which is nice if you decide to sit in a different chair or something. The remote control has the ability to control DVD players, other TVs, and audio receivers. It also comes with a cleaning cloth for the screen.
There are two 10watt speakers on this TV. For being

I went into Best Buy looking at 720p models from LG, Sony and Samsung which were all in the 499 price range. I saw the 720p model Insignia for 399 and picked it out. The girl helping me found that they were sold out and offered me the 1080p version for 419 and I jumped at it. Went and added the 4 year warranty just in case and it was still about the same price as the name brands in 720p. I've been very satisfied with the picture quality and sound and ecstatic with the treatment I received from Best Buy to give me this great deal.
