I bought this as a father's day present for my senior father who often has trouble hearing people on the phone. The sound quality is horrible. It usually sounds like people on other end of the phone are talking in a soda can. Of course, due to the technology there is no channel button to press in hopes of a clearer signal. I was horribly dissappointed by the sound quality and would not recommend this phone to anyone. The speaker phone function and the illuminated screen and keys are nice, but the phone menu is confusing. There are probably better phones on the market that have the same features. Do your research!

I've always bought Panasonic cordless phones in the past, and this purchase initially started off the same as any other, taking everything out of the box I thought how well they're made, they look/feel great, etc.. But after the initial charge, I was really let down the first time I had a conversation with them on a regular call (NOT on speakerphone). When you speak into the mouthpiece, these phones pipe your voice directly to the ear-speaker as well as to the other caller, it feels like you're always interrupting someone, except that the voice coming in your ear is your own! And your voice is considerably louder than the incoming caller, which only increases that feeling. VERY ANNOYING! I tried every handset, all of them worked exactly that way, the only way to eliminate the problem is to turn down the handset speaker volume two increments from high, but then of course you can't hear the other caller when THEY speak...my wife also has the same opinion of these phones, not at all like

We are very happy with the Panasonic Dect 6.0. Lots of features and easy to use. It's convenient to have five handsets. We all love the caller ID announcement. Sound quality is very good (even when using the speakerphone). COMPLAINT: Intercom - It's not just pushing a button (or 2) as I had hoped. You have to get into the menu and scroll etc. All in all we like the phone(s) and feel it was money well spent.

It took me a long time before I realized the phone was the problem. I kept dropping calls - on almost every single phone call. I had the cable phone company come twice for repair because I thought it was the phone line. I finally realized the phone was the problem when I switched my phone to AT&T and I still had the problem. This really is too bad because the sound quality is awesome and the range is the best of any phone I have had.

I have owned a few dect 6 cordless phones and have not been happy with any of them until this one. There has always been interference or the range is not good. I bought this phone based on reviews and the price was great for 5 phones, I got it on sale too so that made it even better. The quality of this phone is great, no interference and the range is good too. Very happy with this purchase.

What really impresses me is the battery life. My old cordless phones needed recharged almost every other day. These phones go weeks (hours of talk time) until needing charged. They are also easy to use and specifically the redial feature. Again the old phone redial required numerous button pushes to get to redial. Sound quality is pretty good but not perfect. The answering machine is also excellent. Highly recommend these phones. Panasonic rarely disappoints.

I ordered this phone a month ago, the base unit plus 3 phones. We had a previous model Panasonic cordless with the voice ID and enjoyed them but eventually they broke so I replaced them with this model. Unfortunately, we got a bad batch. None of the phones can hold a charge although we've been keeping them in the cradle. I even purchased a new batch of rechargeable batteries and put them in the phones to no avail. So I'm out $100 and going to buy new phones today:(

I've been using these phones for about a month now and the sound quality is great. No static or interference noise. I am also a little hard of hearing and have no problems hearing anyone on these phones. IMHO they are definitely worth the money.

After a number of years, it was time to upgrade our phone system. I've always had Uniden's, but couldn't find a decent style phone in that brand, so selected the Panasonic. Seems like phones are like cars.. They have to change the design every year. Pro's: a. The phone has a great feel in the hand. Small, light, nice rubberized backlit buttons. (I hate the plastic buttons of some phones) b. Sound quality is great. (I've not had any issues.) c. Decent range. Live on a 1/3 acre and had reception in my entire property plus most of my immediate neighbors. d. Price is not bad. Phone +5 handsets for $129 at Fry's. (but add on's are WAY too expensive) e. Bright and big LED Screen (LOVE this.. My eyes are getting old, not my brain ) f. Talking Caller ID. (don't have to run to the phone to see who is calling) g. Integrated VoiceMail indicator so you can see if you've got messages. (Nice!!!, I can get rid of that cheap flashing red light thingy that doesn't work very well.) Con's. a. WHY

I'm quite pleased with the product. My previous telephone (also a Panasonic) had problems holding a charge and it would not show the "real" battery status. This was fixed by replacing the battery (you can order them online now - wow!). I bought this set so I'd have a phone in important rooms. Our house is fairly large and well-built, but I have no problems with connectivity anywhere in the house - I can even go into to the back yard with no problems. The handsets charge quickly and hold their charge well, the sound is good (my hearing isn't great). So far, I think this was a good value.

I have had my phone for one month now and the phone continually cuts out during conversations. Even when using the intercom system it cuts out. I now have to pay to send the phones back to the service center and they state they will provide a refurbished phone. I don't know about you but I am a little concerned about getting someone else's refurbished phone. Who knows what that person did with the phones? The phone is in the same location as my previous 5.8 gig phone and I never had an issue with that one.

this system was much better than expected. i still don't know everything of which it is capable. amazon price with free shipping was SIGIFICANTLY below any price found on the net or local retail stores.

The Panasonic Dect 6.0 KX-TG6445T is a surprisingly good phone! For brevity I will mention details that impressed me the most: It was amazingly easy to set up and use. I didn't have to work to coordinate the satellite units as I did in other systems I have owned. Any adjustment to the base unit is immediately transmitted to the satellite units. I bought this phone because its operating frequency does not interfere with that of my wireless router, and since having the phone, I have not had any router problems as I did with my older wireless phone. The rechargeable batteries for each of the units is the type that can be purchased nearly anywhere and I won't have to look for a particular number if and when a replacement is needed. It works well and has a greater range of operation than my older phone. Needless to say, at this time I am most pleased!

Just recently upgraded from an older Panasonic 5.8GHz phone set when the need for a few more handsets came about and my son broke the antenna off his handset. These phone's sound quality is nice and the new 1.9GHz doesn't interfere with any of my other wireless devices. The interface is a little clunky in that there are way too many "soft key" presses to navigate. On our old phones, there was a dedicated key for the intercom function (which I use a lot to talk with my basement-dwelling 14 y/o son). On the new version, you have to navigate through the interface 4 clicks or so - not bad, just an inconvenience. I understand the reasoning behind the interface changes... it's cheaper to make a function software based as opposed to a dedicated hardware button, but it's an inconvenience none-the-less. The battery life on the older version was outstanding, idle-time off the charger and talk-time. We'll see how these new phones hold up - I've only had them for about a week as of this review. The

I've owned this phone for about a month now, and have been very pleased with all aspects of it thus far. I'm using it with a VoIP device, and it works really well. Great range, no interference, and a rich feature set (though I'm not using all the capabilities of the phone) are some of the positives of this phone. Voice caller i.d. is pretty slick, and I really like the backlit keypad and large, easy-to-read display. Speakerphone is nice, and the handsets work well with a headset (purchased one of those with this system too). Other than the great reviews, the one aspect I particularly like and a great selling point of this phone is the fact that the handsets don't use proprietary battery packs......you know, the ones that eventually go bad and cost you a fortune to replace. These handsets each use 2 standard AAA Ni-mh rechargeable batteries, which are common and readily available, and not nearly as expensive as the proprietary packs. This is exactly what I needed for my home, I could never find a phone and was always running across my house to pick up the call. It was really frustrating, but now I have a phone in almost every room. So far this product has worked great for me, no problems whatsoever. The quality is great, they look good and work well. The sound is clear and the appearance is nice and professional, they blend in well with my home. It's a pretty cool buy and it's very helpful to have all of these phones everywhere.

This phone set more than exceeds my expectations and I would highly recommend it to others. The price was reasonable and I have not had any problems with the answering machine or the handsets. It is so nice to be able to locate a handset and its base unit in a room without regard to whether or not there is a phone jack nearby. All you need is an electrical outlet to plug in the base unit. One very nice feature is the ability to block any telemarketing calls. As soon as I get one of these calls, I add the number to the list of blocked callers. Next time they call, the phone rings once before the call is ended. It would have been nice to have not received even one ring, but this is a minor point. Another helpful feature is the ability to designate a number in your phone list to ring with a distinctive tone. There are several choices you can select from. What I like about this phone is anyone in my home can pick up a handset and talk. My old set only allowed one handset at a time. That drove us all crazy until we got this set. It also announces who is calling. It gets an A+.

The product is excellant. I have a two story home, if I want to call my children I just call them by intercom instead of yelling through the house. The telephone also identify who is calling before you get to the telephone.

We love our new phones. We have purchases Panasonic cordless phones for years, but never had enough receivers and were always running to the phone. This phone has a great phonebook feature, which if you make updates to one receiver carry through to the remaining 4 so no more repetitive phonebook changes.

The phone is relatively large so it feels right when you hold it. The display is also large and easy to see and navigate. The buttons light up when you use the phone which makes it easy to use at night. It has a nice sound and reception throughout my house has been great. I was able to locate these around my house without having to worry about having a phone jack in the right spot. There are lots of helpful features. For example, I like it that the phone system can keep a list of phone numbers to block.

In the past, I have had problems with almost every set of wireless phones I bought for my house. The signal constantly dropped in and out. However, after having had success with another set of phones that used DECT6.0 technology, I decided to try these. They've been perfect--there hasn't been a single instance on any call where the signal dropped out. Also, Panasonic's talking caller ID is great. When a call comes in, all the phones announce who the caller is, so if the call is from someone you don't want to talk to (e.g., a solicitor), you don't even have to get out of your chair to know not to answer it. How's that for lazy?

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Titanium Black Cordless Phone with Answering Machine (KX-TG6445T) Have had this phone system for only a short time, but am extremely happy with the number of features it offers, from numbering the individual phones to the ease of directions. It came packed in the best shipping carton I have ever received (even had directions on how to repack the units if they had to be returned). The instructions are clear, the reception on the phones and their range more than acceptable. The cost may appear to be high for the set, but its quality makes it more than worth the cost.

While the overall phones are good in quality and clarity, there are three major disappointments: 1. No dedicated caller id button Should not have to scroll through menu to get to caller ids of recent calls as getting recent call history is a frequent need. 2. Speaker phone volume is too low even on highest volume. 3. System is very base-centric whereby if someone is using one of the phones, the other phones cannot retreive caller ids on recent calls, etc. as the data appears to be stored at the base as opposed to each individual phone and when someone is using any other handset, the base is busy and cannot respond to any other handset inquiry regarding the phone book or caller id list, etc.

I have to agree with MrFM's review. Usability of features don't really make sense. Why isn't there a dedicated button for intercom? I also don't like that the only way to "broadcast" to all phones is from the base. It would have been really nice if one could intercom call all phones at the same time. If I don't know what phone my wife is at, I have to intercom call each phone seperately unless I'm at the base. That's a pain in the butt. Never the less, the phone feels great in the hand and is really lite. The buttons feel good to push and I like the display backlite. The keypad back light could be brighter but work well none the less. The technology in this phone is quite a nice stop up from the 5.8 ghz models. I'm very happy with it!

I've had the phones for one day, very good price point. Lots of great features that I did not have with my VTech phones. The single shared phone book is really great, all the phones have access, only have to enter number once. Silence phones when you are sleeping is way cool along with announcing caller ID. Assigning different rings tones nice feature. Bottom line, best phone system I have ever had, highly recommend.

I had KX-TGA560S and can compare. This phone had only share address book. You can’t create personal address book on each handset. On TGA560S you can do it and then decide to share No(-s) with other handsets or not. Intercom option is hidden deep in the menu. This is one of the most useful options on the multi handsets phones, again TGA560S had a separate button for it. On TG560S I could download ringtones from the internet there is no such an option for this phone. Large display is definitely a great thing, but lack of functions and inconvenient design make this phone bellow average.

Positives: Simple to set up with not too much complication, just follow the menu numbers and away you go. The phones feel nice and have nice large numbers. Reception is good throughout the house and garage with no static and just a bit of hiss. The answering machine records well. Handset-to-handset calls and transfers works well. I bought a ear piece and microphone for one of the handsets and it works well allowing hands free talking. Negatives: There is no audible beep to indicate awaiting messages on the machine but it does have a flashing light on all the remotes.

Our old phone system was giving up the ghost so I looked for a phone system that would get good reception throughout our house and not interfere with other wireless set ups. I have had no problems with the wireless internet and the phone system to date. I even get reception at the bottom of my 3 story house. I ordered the extra handset and now there is a better chance that you will find a reciever on the house level your on when the phone rings too. I can even walk anywhere on my 1/2 acre and get reception.

I am crazy in love with my new phone! It does everything but the laundry! It has an answering machine, talking caller id, talking battery low announcement, speakerphone on all handsets plus base, you can retrieve messages & perform other answering machine functions with any handset, has EXTRA LARGE fonts for middle-aged eyes, displays date & time when idle, has a 50 name shared phonebook, uses AAA batteries not some hard-to-find, esoteric battery type, TALKING ALARM CLOCK, customizable ringtones for different people in address book, intercom between handsets, does not have a shred of static even at the top of my L-O-N-G driveway. The battery life is excellent. I could keep going!! I specifically only looked at Panasonic because I was so impressed with my last one & some of its special features like talking caller id & handset speakerphone. Wouldn't buy anything without those now!! The phone is also really well priced in addition to all its wonderful features!

Have been using this phone for a few days. Love the big date and time display, speaker phone feature, incoming caller name announcement, ring tone customization, backlit, etc., all on base and handsets. Works great with T-Mobile @Home service with HiPort and wireless keyboard/mouse. No interference.

I bought this phone for my mother since it came with 5 phones that she could place around her apartment for convenience. After charging them we gave them a try and right off the bat noticed the terrible sound quality that delivers constant static. The speaker for the base unit sounds so muffled that you can barely understand your messages. The look and feel is cheap but performance is what really counts and this phone fails in almost every aspect.

This new 2009 model of Panasonic's cordless DECT telephones lives up to its advertising. Sound very clear, battery life is long (my actual 1st day experience was 3-5 hr talking with 10+ in standby), and range is longer than my previous Motorola 5 GHZ model (good enough for a 2 story house plus a basement). The model includes cordless handsets, answering machine, and caller ID, as well as voice prompts of incoming caller ID calls. As a plus, the handsets use AAA Ni-MH batteries so easily purchased when they need replacing. My old Motorola used the typical specialized phone Ni-Cd batteries (with that funny connector), that lasted less than a year and a high cost to replace.
Highly recommend this model. The KX-TG 643x and 644x series are all the same except for the number of handsets that come in the package and whether the base station has its own dial capability. This model allows a max of 6 handsets (the 6445 cmes with 5 handsets-so you can purchase one more if needed KX-TGA 641T).
