The picture quality is phenominal & the sound is fantastic (even w/ no visible speakers in front). Set-up & programing were a breeze. I would recommend this product to my best friend. *****

Actually purchased this tv based on the overall dimiensions. Compared to other 46' sets this was the only one that would fit into our tv cabinet....LUCKY ME. The tv is amazing all around. Everyone talks about BLACK LEVELS, well this tv has them. They are black as ink!!!!!! Did not rate sound because i have it hooked up to a Bose surround system. SONY hit a homerun with this one. And by the way the sales staff at BEST BUY were very helpfull.

I've had this product a few weeks now and we are really enjoying it. The hardest part of acquiring this TV was getting it home, as it was available for in-store pickup only, and my car is too small so I had to rent a small van for about the same price as delivery. Set up was easy. I have this hooked up to a PS3 and Sony DreamSystem home theatre. The picture and sound are amazing. For sound, I use a digital optical connection from the TV to the DreamSystem. Thus, I get home theatre sound whether I watch TV, play PS3, watch Blu-Rays (via the PS3) or watch DVDs on the home theatre. Since the DreamSystem is older, video out to the TV is via S-video. I use HDMI cables between the cable box and the TV, and between the PS3 and the TV. Following advice from CNET.com, I bought the least expensive HDMI cables I could find, and the sound and picture quality are terrific. We are really enjoying this setup!

My TV was delivered today ahead of schedule. Incredibly easy to set up. PS3, Sound Bar System and new HD Cable box all connected with ease. Can even sync up all 3 Sony devices with the Bravia Sync capability. What a truly great picture. So many features I didnt have time to review them yet but Netflix streaming is all ready to go with my wireless PS3 player. Everyone seems to give a rating of 3 for Sound, but anyone who knows anything about LCD/LED Tv's knows that sound is a distance second as far as technology efforts put into TV's.. Only Mitsubishi added its Sound Bar system right on the bottom of their TV. Buying a system solves the sound quality issue. And for those who thought the Sony to be expensive, "Why didnt you buy it when it was on sale for $1,599 or at least waited till it went on sale. Hint: getting the PS3 is a better way to go than the Blu-Ray player. Not only do you get WiFi, but you can play DVD's and games. Updates are also done more often and timed better on the PS3

Best Buy delivered and setup the TV in the excellent, professional, and efficient manner I've always experienced. I bought this when it was on-sale with a free sony blu-ray included. I upgraded from a 30" Sony XBR Bravia because I wanted a larger screen and easy access to amazon onDemand video. I bought this TV specifically for the internet content because I'm investigating dropping cable. I knew the TV itself would be fantastic, so I wasn't worried I'd regret my purchase if the internet content turned out to be subpar. I wanted to see the streaming picture quality, ease of use, and content availability from amazon onDemand Video. I already have access to netflix through my wireless LG blu-ray.
I did not have a wired internet connection in my living room, so I bought a wireless Bridge that Sony recommends in the manual After hours on the phone with tech support, I gave up and returned the bridge. Instead, I had my brother install a wired connection. After the internet connection

The picture quality on the XBR's is amazing, very crisp and clear - sharp colors. I gave the sound quality a 3, but anyone purchasing this type of TV should have a surround sound system, which would make this a moot point. For the money, there isn't a better TV currently on the market...

I palnned and budgeted to purchase this TV to watch NetFlix Insantly and use my PC as a monitor. The actual set up took weeks. I wish I had some kind of To Do list before I got the TV. My internet connection was in another room and not easily relocated. IN THE END...What you need to know is that you will need to purchse a Home Theater Internet Connection Kit. The cost is about $250.

This TV has a great picture and the color is amazing! As a graphic designer one thing that I look for is pixalation and I have seen none! It always has a great picture and the detail is great! I compared this tv with many other LCDs, tubes and plasmas and this one came out on top! It's modern/contemporary feel fits in great with my house. I have yet to notice any flaws and hope that I will not. It was a bit high in price, but it's well worth it.

Picture is beautiful - a quantum leap from my Sony 32" tube (14 years old)but $2300 was absolutely insane, my only remorse - I only hope this set lasts as long as my last Sony.

I relied on reviews from this site, so I feel obligated to put in my review. The picture quality is great. My brother talked me into getting this one, and I have no regrets. I've never had a TV with such a clear picture, and it was on sale when I bought...much less than what is now advertised (currently listed at $2,400) in this site and in the Sony site.
I usually keep electronics for a long time, so I am very glad I made this purchase. Crystal clear picture and a great addition to my living room. Size really does matter. lol

Bought on 23 Dec 2009. Sony spoiled the Christmas and my New Year. I got a FAULTY KDL46XBR initially..Sony Acknowledges and sends a Replacement, they say it was NEW, I doubt. Becuase Second unit they sent was worst...with significant picture blur...Sony Acknowledges and says 2/3 parts needs replacement, but we dont know when these parts would be available..So after 40 days also I am without a TV..WHAT A WASTE ? Sony Customer care is another tarumatic experience...I bet there are bunch of FAULTY Units of XBR9 sitting out there..Imagine I had TWO BRAND new units of KDL46XBR9 and BOTH Units had issues..Acknowledged by Sony as well..So BE-WARE Guys..for mw hard earned money appears to go in drain...

We are watching more TV since we purchased the Bravia. Ball games are more fun to watch too. There's no jerky movements with fast movements. Scenery is like being there. Awesome!

I just bought this TV friday and you can't go wrong with this TV. Absolutely gorgeous. Blu-ray is a MUST for this TV. You'll never see it's true potential without it. And I highly recommend the National Geographic HD collection on Blu-ray for this TV. Sony did very well with this XBR9. The only bad thing I could say is I really wanted the 52" inch but out of my price range :(.

I have had this television for a few weeks. The only thing bad about it is the color black on non-HD channels. It is very grainy but its the channel and not the television. HD and Blu-Ray are fabulous.

Set up took minutes. HDMI inputs are plenty for most. The picture was the best that I could find after much comparing.
Only thing I wish it had was the security strap to tether the set to the TV stand. Previous Sony LCD came with it.

All in all this is b far the most advanced TV we have ever owned. The picture quality is absolutely incredible in HD. Watching hockey games in HD with the 240Hz refresh is a thing of beauty as is football too. Even the non HD broadcasts are a pleasure to watch on this TV. I hooked the PC up the other day and played flight sim, what an experience. Combined with a blue ray player and watching a movie at home is just like being there on the set.
The only downside to the TV was the process you have to undergo to connect it to the internet. The instructions are not the best written and i had to go to Sony's web site for a full instruction set. But it is connected and pretty cool too.

Performs perfectly right out of the box, easy set up, recognized my Sony Blu ray player and SYNC'ed right up. Great picture. The set recognized there was a firmware update available and quickly downloaded and installed it without incident. We have used the Netflix streaming daily since getting the TV and it works pretty well. There have been a few times that the stream has had to pause to catch up but overall the quality has been very acceptable. Would loved to have PIP with this big set but its not included. Sound level adjustment seems a little slow... you have to go up or down for a few seconds before you really notice a change in volume but that also means you can fine tune the sound to your exact desired level... not too loud or too low - just right Love all the feature of connecting to home music, photo's etc...

Got it mid January. It was on sale (sadly i got it right before it went on a BIGGER sale... haha) and i needed a new TV. I am SOOOO glad i got this TV. The picture quality is phenomenal. 1st thing i did was watch one of my favorite movies again (Star Trek) on blu-ray. It was like i was watching the movie for the 1st time in IMAX or something. Far surpasses any expectations.

I bought the TV with the PS3 promotion at Christmas time. Only took about an hour to hang it on the wall and hook it up to my cable box. Pretty much just turned it on and answered a couple questions, set the time and date and was watching Monday night football in no time. I've had it about a month and it is great. As I mentioned we got the PS3 with it and was happy that it had a built in wireless internet adapter that works great, I don't know why Sony didn't incorporate one on the TV as well since they are introducing internet content on the TV. Finally the only other downside is I don't want to watch my older TV's anymore, they look like C-rap compared to the new one.

Bought the TV a week ago and really love it. Picture is fantastic, even without calibration. Setting my TV up was a piece of cake. I was also able to get the remote that came with the TV set up to work with the components (even got it programmed to work with my DirecTV receiver), making me glad that I didn't spend an extra $120+ on an universal remote. I also really like the online instant streaming with Netflix, Youtube, etc. Since I have a Sony VAIO laptop, it plays any music or displays any photos stored on my laptop without even having to connect it to my TV, which is really awesome. I bought it when Best Buy had it priced real good at $1388. My only real gripe about the TV is that I wish there were more providers doing instant online streaming, such as Blockbuster. Not a big deal to me though, I still love the TV.

This is my first HDTV and I'm very pleased with it. The picture is really amazing, the only thing I would complain about is the sound, but I sorta expected that. Its not really that bad but a good sound bar would definetly complete the set.

The package was a real steal. The TV low price coupled with the free PS3 game, Blu-Ray movie and PS3 system was hard to pass up. The picture quality of the XBR is amazing. The set up was a piece of cake to do and had amazing features.

This is an incredible TV, and getting through the menus is quite easy. We got a PS3 in a bundle with this and it has really been neat to use 1080p games and blue ray discs to highlight the best of this TV. The only negative I would list for this TV is that 3 of the HDMI connections are on the side. So if you are mounting this TV on a wall, the second-fourth HDMI cables will be visible from the side. It doesn't stick out; this is only if you are looking from the side. It's a minor aesthetic issue. I have not found a better TV. If you're going to pay up for 1080p, 240 hz, and 24p, get a good blu-ray player. Otherwise you're buying technology you're not even using.

My family room has two skylights and two huge windows, fortunately the SONY Bravia XBR9 has some excellent anti reflective capabilities. After a thorough three month investigation, I would say that no other 46" TV offers a better picture for a bright room. The set-up was simple and quick. The remote is user friendly and easy to use.

We had a V series that we returned twice. Horrible sound on the first that would go in and out. The second one we got was worst and the picture wasn't good. So we made the choice to just get the 46XBR9. Best choice we ever made on a T.V. We don't even watch our 55inch Samsung in our family room any more. This T.V. is amazing! I would recommend this television to everyone.

After a ton of research we decided to get this TV over the others because of the 240 Hz and the amount of connections it could handle. By the time I hook up the Wii, DVD player, cable, Surround Sound, etc. I wanted to make sure I would be able to still hook up my camera and/or video camera without unplugging something. My wife also HATES reflections in the TV so we went with LCD instead of Plasma. We never have any problems with the reflections and only feel the need to turn off a light when we watch a movie.
The pre-determined settings are great for fine-tuning features based on the type of program we are watching (i.e. movie, sports, video games). It adjusts the emphasis on background noise vs. dialog, and brightness. For sports it is brighter and the background is louder so you can hear the action better on the field. When you change to the movie setting it dims ist(since you usually turn off the lights) and changes the audio to make the voices easier to hear over the background

This is the best TV I have ever seen. Out of all of my friend's TV's, mine is by far the best. I bought this TV with the Blu-Ray and 5.1 sysem, for less than $1,700. The TV, ALONE is now $1,780, so I am very happy I bought while Sony was offering a great package. Now, some people say that the sound on thin LCD tv's are terrible, not the case with this TV.
I agree with the person below my post by the sound being so good on the tv, I haven't even hooked up the 5.1 1000W home theater sysem up. My room is 12X16 and you can hear everything so clearly, it's amazing.
Blu-Ray movies and PS3 games in 1080p look so good, it feels as if you're right there in the action. I can certainly feel the 240hz when you're playing games like Metal Gear Solid 4, there is 0 blur and absolutely amazing picture and sound. I will only buy Sony TV's from now on.

I, like many others here, bought this TV as part of a package deal with blu ray player and 5.1 surround sound. When played with a blu ray disc, it is a true home theater event. A very high "wow" factor. But understand when you go to HD cable you lose a littlt of that. That is the cable companies fault, not the TV's. Regular or Standard TV becomes almost painful to watch. Again, not the TV's fault, garbage in, garbage out. The sound on this TV is so good I almost didn't bother hooking up the surround sound. The remote and features on this TV have a high learning curve, so keep the instruction book handy for a while for reference. I will be happy with this TV until LED comes down to more reasonable prices.

I bought this TV after looking at them for several months. I had settled on much cheaper models but the picture and features of this set, plus a package deal Best Buy had sold me on the Sony. The picture is excellent, watched some Bowl games in HD and was blown away. My Blue Ray player not due until the 4th so still waiting to connect it (Best Buy delivered the TV before any of the other packaged items - stereo and Blue Ray, came in...). The only problem I have had so far is I cannot get the NetFlix to work, it keeps giving me timeout or expired errors yet all other network video seems to work great (and tested the Netflix connection on XBOX360 and computer and worked fine there). Aside from the Netflix problem, I would reccommend this TV again.

I purchased this product in early 11/09 as part of the "See Blu" promotion which included: - Sony BRAVIA XBR Series KDL-46XBR9 - Sony BDP-S560 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player - Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar with Subwoofer I am thrilled and delighted with this package. Many have said this or something similar before, but the real reason that I wanted to write this review is to talk about pricing. I read reviews and looked at various deals on HDTVs for 1 1/2 years since the middle of 2008. I looked at Samsung, Panasonic, and SONY. I almost purchased a Sony from Amazon just after Christmas of 2008 when they were running a great sale. However, I didn't because of the 24 fps judder problem. This new Sony HDTV solves that problem whereas many other HDTVs don't. The price bottomed for one day on Saturday, 11/7, when Sony was running the "See Blu" promotion and Amazon was providing 24 month interest-free financing on the Amazon Store Card for a total price of $1386. It was a phenomenal price on a

I had owned a Sony 36" XBR WEGA TV for years and was very happy with its performance, but decided it was finally time to upgrade to a HD LCD. After researching them for a couple months, I had narrowed it down to Samsung and Sony in the $1,300-1,500 price range. I choose the Sony because the picture looked more natural. I have to agree with others that reviewed the Samsung that the colors were almost too bright and the off angle view was not as sharp. I couldn't have made a better choice. This TV is amazing. The picture is clear and the HD is great, especially with blu-ray and PS3 games. I can sit back at my dining room table and view the picture from a 35 degree angle with no dark spots or distortion. I only have to have the brightness at a 40 percent level. I've read some reviews that you have to really tweak the picture settings to get the picture right, but I thought it was just fine right out of the box. The pre-set picture modes are easy to toggle through for movies or regular TV,

I purchased the TV and the BD Home Theater System as a Package. The picture quality is unbelievable - even on lo-def channels. The HD colors and crispness never cease to amaze me.
The only flaw - and this is completely minor - is that 3 of the 4 HDMI Ports are located on the left hand side. It makes for an unattractive rat's nest when you walk by it, but it is not noticeable when veiwing the television from the front.
If you have a wireless network, you will need a Wireless Bridge (Best Buy sells one from Linksys) to connect to the Internet to get the widgets, Netflix, Amazon, etc...

The combination of the TV picture, our surround sound system and the Sony Blu-ray player is tough to beat. This is our second XBR and we love it. As soon as the new 70" XBR price is reasonable we're going to buy it.
I love my XBR.

Bought this TV through the Amazon Warehouse deals. Said it had blemish on the housing. But found the TV in perfect condition. The box was resealed in original packing. Love this TV especially there is no blurred in fast action motion picture. The 240 hrz is something people should pay real attention to. The picture quality is phenominal. I have my bose system hooked on to the TV and it gives life like movie experience. This is a great TV!!!

Pros: If you can get this TV for less than $1,400 (like I did thru Amazon, including a sound bar with subwoofer and a Blue Ray player) you will be thrilled with this TV! If you base your buying decisions on expert reviews, get ready to spend like crazy! Cons: Con number one from the experts, the "black level" debate - it's overrated...tell me something, will you stop watching a movie just because a certain scene is not displaying a "true black" level? And con two from the experts, you went all out to buy this TV, where should the sound from a Blu-ray movie come from? If you really want to hear and feel that jet flying over head, expect to spend at least 50% of what you pay for this TV in a quality surround system. Bottom-line, if you want true black levels from a movie, go watch the movie at the theater, no TV can match that...none! If you're looking for those same black levels in a live program, buy the tickets to be there live. Otherwise, this TV will give you the next best thing to

Took 3 weeks to build up the nerve to buy this TV, glad I did. Went the Sun. after Thanksgiving.....$1699 for the TV, a free Playstation3, free Bluray movie, and free PS3 game. Best of all, NO sales tax. Beat that!!!!!!! Easy set up, was watching it within 20 minutes. I was up till 3:30 in the morning mesmerised by this TV. No buyers remorse here! Best Buy made this all too easy.

I didn't really care about HDTV but when one of our old ones burnt out I decided to upgrade. Football is amazing to watch on this TV. Netflix works flawlessly and blu-ray is amazing. The newer LED T.V. s looked liked the colors were off. This T.V really shines when you get it away from the showroom and set it up in your own house by itself. I would definitely buy it again.

The best picture I've seen. At 240hz the motion flow is great, even when watching the fast sports like hockey. There is no blurring. I have it coupled with a Sony 5.1 home theater blue ray package. All I can say is ...wow..

My fiancee and I bought this TV to replace our 42" Sony, but did not expect the picture difference to be so drastic...she said it seemed 3D...we ended up having to put it on "Theater Mode" because the picture was so realistic, we couldn't concentrate on the actual movie...the only downfall is we expected to have P&P like we did with teh 42"...but we still have the 42"...lol

picture is excellentl; sound with built in speakers is surprisingly decent considering they are small; got it at a decent price packaged with surround sound/blue ray; the salesman was pushing "calibration" but so far I have not seen an instance where I need the picture "calibrated"; only improvement I would suggest is a WIRELESS internet connection; I will have to run a bridge to tv or 200ft of cable; overall a quality product that I am very happy with.

Ordered from Amazon, best price by far at the time of ordering. Free delivery, box arrived in pristine condition, it looked like it had just been pulled off the packaging line, no dents, tears or even scratches in the cardboard. So far so good... The delivery guys unpacked it, put the stand on and plugged it in. I was trying not to salivate. It was a breeze to set up. Coax cable to HDD recorder, HDMI to TV. 2nd HDMI from Sony Blu-ray to TV. Done! I turned on the tv, autoscan picked up the analog and digital stations (took about 30 minutes) and I was watching the news in high def. Wow, the picture was stunning, right out of the box. Oops, forgot, also coax from HDD recorder to TV. I have watched 4 movies, the blu-ray is stunning. At first I noticed a mild "flashlight" effect in the lower left corner in dark scenes while watching Bladerunner in a dark room. I watched it again 4 days later (again in a dark room) and it was gone, so maybe it was my imagination. The blacks are

just got the sony 46 xbr9 television to replace my 42 sharp aquos lcd tv, wow....the picture quality on the sony is by far better than the sharp. always thought that sony tvs had the best picture compared to other lcds on the market. got this tv home and set it up on the wall in about half an hour. had a standard hdmi cable connected from my ps3 to the tv....salesperson at bestbuy said to purchase monster cable thx 1000 series to take full advantage of the sony's 240 hz refresh rate, but thought that hdmi was hdmi. after watching transformers part 2 on blue ray, decided to get the new monster cable the next day....man was it a big difference!! absolutely no blur with the new cable and motionflow 240 turned on. all i can say is definitely get this tv if u are in the market for a new lcd tv. won't be disappointed by this set...but do make sure u get the new hdmi cable from monster cable to enjoy all the features available on this set.

This, my 4th HDTV, replaced a 2yo 40-inch SONY, which itself was fantastic. Got it from AMAZON at a ridiculuously low $1575! While I have calibration tools, I didn't need them after minimizing the lamp and fiddling with the other video options. Unlike a few who saw no significant effect, I am impressed with the 240hz performance, and with other adjustments which do not significantly interplay, requiring endless back and forth tweaking. The XBR9 delivers totally accurate skin tones from chalk white to ebony black. The sound is OK for viewing local newscasts, etc., but not for entertainment programming, which I play through a Marantz A/V and a bi-amped Klipsch front (I am a dedicated 5.1 fan). The results (via COMCAST) approach theater-quality, and awesome when viewing Blurays through my OPPO BDP-83. The standard definition channels, which vary between broadcasters, are noticeably better than my 40-inch SONY delivered. I notice that the price has shot way up since I got my set, so if I was

Love this Sony! Just sorry that PIP was deleted from the XBR9. No other complaints. Glad to see the piano gloss frame of T.V. has clear lucite (plastic) over it which slightly lessens the glare. Can't stand full piano gloss frames that reflect every light source in a room. Hopefully Sony will consider totally non-glare frames and screens in the near future. Not happy that Amazon's price dropped nearly $100 a few days after I purchased the T.V.! Delivery service was great & T.V. was delivered two days after order placed, which was a real plus. Would highly recommend purchasing a T.V. from Amazon and would really appreciate a credit to my account for the price drop, which would be done by any reputable dealer!!

OK,
So my new and improved TV Service provider, who supplies Internet, TV and Phone-hint, hint......has the ability to hook-up their service via HDMI-BIG PLUS. This starts me on a "quest" for the "right" TV to match.
I had a Plasma, 42-inch which I have had forever!!! And with which I have been madly in love with until NOW!
I walk into my local electronics store one Saturday afternoon....and there it is: Sony Bravia Baby!!! Of course, they always have TVs at shoulder level to further entice the consumer.

So my new and improved TV Service provider, who supplies Internet, TV and Phone-hint, hint......has the ability to hook-up their service via HDMI-BIG PLUS. This starts me on a "quest" for the "right" TV to match.

I walk into my local electronics store one Saturday afternoon....and there it is: Sony Bravia Baby!!! Of course, they always have TVs at shoulder level to further entice the consumer.

I've had the TV for almost a month and couldn't be happier. The matte finish on the screen is what attracted me to the TV in the first place. The room where the TV sits is very bright and this really cuts down and almost eliminates glare on the screen. I looked at Samsung LED TVs and the screen was shiny and there was a lot of glare, I could actually see clear reflections of objects in the room on the screen. The ambient light sensor on the TV is a great feature. It adjusts the brightness to compensate for the ambient room lighting. In the evening the picture is not a bright as during the day. The picture quality is excellent. Guests have said it feels like you are actually part of what you are watching. Sony has done it again with the Bravia XBR. I would highly recommend this product. In addition the price on Amazon was unbelievable!

I upgraded from a Sony Wega XBR 32" (No HD) to the Sony Bravia XBR 46" (1080p HD) and I'm thankful everytime I turn on a sporting event. Simply said, this television is unbelievable. The picture quality is the best I've ever seen and I was even more blown away when I hooked up my PS3 for the first time and watched Planet Earth in Blu Ray. The internal speakers are good and having the ability to "sync" all your Sony products cuts down on the remotes needed to run everything.

This is my second Sony Bravia LCD television , previously I had purchased the 32" XBR6 so I had some kind of idea as what to expect. The XBR9 series is internet ready which allowed me to connect to the internet (for video streaming) without the use of a PC (used with my XBR6). Netflix is coming on board as a streaming provider apparently in November and we are very much looking forward to that. I had to use a wireless ethernet bridge to connect to my broadband but that was easy as the TV's network setup supports wireless bridges. Connection to the broadband also allows media stored on other networked PCs to be played on the TV (the PCs use Windows Media Player to make themselves DLNA servers) so sharing vacation pictures and listening to MP3s remotely on the TV is now possible. Back to the video streaming and actual internet content (limited good stuff) - other than Netflix, which is coming, there are movies available from Amazon.com - did this have something to do with the great price

"I started off like many people; I did a lot of research in preparation for buying a T.V. I was waiting to find just the perfect deal. I was on the plasma bandwagon but I could not find anyone to guarantee me that there would be no "burn in" so I kept looking for LCD TV. I saw the LED but just could not bring myself to spend that much on just a TV. That’s when I was introduced to the Sony Bravia. My dad bought a Bravia a few years ago and I thought wow, but I could never afford that. Then Best Buy had this deal a 46 Bravia XBR with blue ray, and surround sound for 1800 bucks. When I saw this I was all over it. Sometimes I have buyer’s remorse when I make big purchases...the only remorse I have with this is, I wish the deal was offered earlier. The picture on this TV is fantastic, absolutely no pixilation in fast moving parts of TV or movies. The TV sound is great and the surround sound is even better!!!!! I would highly recommend this TV for anyone, it would have been nice for

Picked up this tv to replace a Samsung DLP. My tv sits in a room with large windows, and the sunlight made the DLP unwatchable. Got the Sony today with the free sound system and bluray player. Watched football all afternoon and was blown away by the 240 refresh rate.

Sony did it again! There products are simply superior. This TV worked great straight out of the box. It's picture is incredible and it looks great on the wall. It's very well made and I haven't been able to find a single flaw with it. The matte screen is also great. It does not reflect so even with the all the lights on they don't "catch your eye" in the screen. I've noticed inconsistencies in other TV's that this TV does not have. This TV also has the most realistic, life-like picture I've ever seen. I've had this TV for about a month now and have not once had buyer's remorse. Simply put, best electronics purchase I've ever made!

I've done my research and I've asked around to those who had the products I was looking at. In the end I chose the SONY Bravia XBR. My brother gave it great reviews and I liked what I saw on his. He has the 40 inch and I've purchased the 46inch. Hooking it up was fairly easy for a woman who lives alone. The picture quality for HD is great. I love it. However, the sound quality is not as I had hoped. Some shows come in loud and clear while others, you have to put the volume up all the way and sit closer just to hear it well. I've gotten the home theater hooked up to it, as well, and that helps when watching DVD's. All in all, it's not a bad tv and I would recommend it to others. If SONY can improve on the sound quality this will be one supurb buy!

CLOSE CAPTION PROBLEMS - this sony model will not show close caption on high definition channels or ANY channel if you use a HDMI CABLE. So if you use close caption, this is not the set for you.

I purchased this product about a month ago for an amazing price which was the main con from CNET. I have cable programming so the signal is usually good. Here are my thoughts; Pros: Looks great Price (Better than any place I visited and all competitors) HD programming is amazing, Sports are fantastic Scene and angle selections are fun and allow you to customize quickly Fast shipping, no damage anywhere Plenty of input options Regular sound is good Wireless and computer features are fun Cons: Regular programming is not very good in most cases Overall, I would recommend this TV to anybody but always do the research and know what you are getting. I had a get together soon after I bought it and the guys just sat around and starred at it for a few hours. Great purchase before football season.

After researching flat screen LCD's we decided on this one. There is a learning curve and it's worth it to take the time. Not just with sony but in general with HD's. We were sold on Amazon because of no sales tax and free shipping. Delivery was fast and efficient. The only dissatisfier to date is the mute button on the remote which is too small. Otherwise, we can use the Directv remote in combination. There are many nice features on the sony remote and I like the compatibility with my other sony devices. The picture is so clear, we really love it.

I was back and forth between this TV and the SamSung LN46B750. The price on this dropped to $1649 a few weeks ago, while the Samsung TV went up. The Contrast ratio for this one was 100000:1 compare to Samsung 150000:1, but really I can't tell with my eyes. I don't trust Samsung yet, but I trusted Sony XBR reputation. However, the price, and buy online with free delivery was nice to term saving money. I updated the firmware without any problem. Nice TV. I can't see any negative. I was very hesitant to buy Online since I don't know how it would turn out in case I need to return, but the AMaZON delivery was great. They unbox, set TV up, turn it on before I signed the acceptance. The delivery company they used was PILOT, which has a couple of guys in their 40's or 50's. Very nice guys, very gentlemen. Now I see the price went back up, I am glad I bought it. The sounds for this Sony TV is much better than the Samsung when I check it out at Bestbuys.

Started out doing a lot of research and went with the Panasonic 50" G10, great tv, and also went with home theater system/bluray from Panasonic...seen deal on Sony 46" XBR9 w/ bluray and 5.1 home theater for 1999.99 a couple weeks later, so only had to add on a 100.00 from original Panasonic purchase...ended up being great decision too. XBR9 seems to have better picture and just better overall quality. Def. pricey, but well worth it, especially if you got the deal I did. The Panasonic THX mode was just way to dark, with Sony, the colors just seem to POP! Have had tv for little over a week now and based on other reviews saying the backlight is an issue---I just don't see it. My room is dark and have not had a problem with backlight yet... Recommend this tv, wanted 52" but package was 500 more, and out of price range, if you can get it---go for 52".

Tried the LG 47 inch LH40 and then the Samsung 46 inch LED B6000. Had both for about two weeks before returning them. The Sony not only has more features but has a much better and consistent picture than the previous two. The LG has a major lip synch problem and the Samsung had a great picture as long as you were in front of it. Anything slightly to the side and the picture was unwatchable. The sound on this Tv is great as well. Definately a wonderful TV and I strongly recommend it.

Bought this TV last weekend, so have had it for 1 week now, and must say that is nearly perfect. The picture quality of HD broadcasts (over TimeWarner cable) is very good, and standard broadcasts are not bad at all (better than expected). The audio is quite good as well, even though I will eventually upgrade to a home theatre system, but for now, it is more than acceptable. I did not alter any of the pre-configured settings for the picture (I selected 'Home' as the pre-configuration setting off of the Bravia initial setup) and have no reason to tweak this at all, despite having a rather bright living room. Recommend this TV to anyone and everyone!

We traded in our five year old 32" Sony Trinitron Wega for this model and were overly impressed. We have a 32" XBR6 in another room and this new XBR9 blows the other one away. It was extremely easy to set up. I had a full HD picture displayed from my cable box in less that 30 minutes after opening the box (on stand - I'm sure wall mounting would be longer). I've played the HD signal from my cable box and from my Sony Blu-Ray player and both are amazing. The styling is nice and clean. No bulky frame around the screen on this model. I can't speak about the sound quality as I use a home theater system for sound instead of the built-in speakers.

After several months of looking, pricing, and yes, agonizing, Amazon had the best price,no freight,no tax and prompt, reliable service. Amazon beat everyone by a country mile with their sale price. That is what actually motivated me to make the purchase. I am totally satisfied with my Sony and would recommend this model to my friends. It redefines the t.v. watching experience. G.Chase

This TV is absolutely outstanding. To bgin with the picture quality is among the best I've seen in general and isby far the best at this price point. Second, the TV connects directly to the internet and you can view your youtube videos as well as enjoy Amazon on Demand movies and shows. Hands down one of the best investments in home-entertainment I've ever made.

everything is great but not economical..if youre crazy about remote sync with your sony sound system, ps3, or other sony products...then this is great...other wise, think again.

i have owned sony televisions for more than 25 years and was very happy with my recent purchase. the picture is beautiful. a nice feature is if you are switching between ps3 players and other attachments the tv indicates which input jacks are active so you dont waste a lot of time. i still haven't figured out a simple way to set the sleep timer. the old sony's had a button on the remote for that function. if you have an old sony, the remote will work with this set. i'm sure that if i had more time to read the owner's manual i could figure it out quickly. i would recommend this television to friends and family.

I got this TV two weeks ago. As an admitted unapologetic Sony "fanboy" I had high expectations. The display is beautiful especially when viewing blu-ray's or HD sources. However in an extremely dark scene it is evident that LCD's still have a ways to go when it comes to contrasting blacks. I have played around with settings and even adjusted the custom setting to those recommended in CNet's review of the TV but it still leaves much to be desired. Pros: Excellent response time and display when viewing HD sources. A lot of options for customizing to fit your personal taste. A ton of extras (mostly accessed if/when you hook your TV up to your home internet network). The widgets and video on demand are fun features but likely not something that will be for the average user. Cons: Black contrasts still aren't near the level displayed in Plasmas and the LED technology also looks to be a major improvement in this area. Display of SD (standard definition/non HD) content leaves

I bought this TV because of Sony's legendary reputation in beautiful pictures and previous experience with the XBR line. As expected, the picture is absolutely great. If you want amazing HDTV, then this set is for you. The TV has a very simple and understated front, which I like a lot. The Amazon delivery was great! Two men brought it into the house, put it where we wanted it, connected it, turned it on and checked the remote for operation. The deliveryman was familiar with the TV and went above and beyond by doing the initial setup, which admittedly was simple, but not something he was required to do. There are only two drawbacks so far. The stand is flimsy feeling and wobbles like a weeble if you bump the set. My XBR4 had a rock solid stand. I just attached a cable to the wall for piece of mind (didn't want it falling on the grand kids). The second thing is a lack of PIP or P&P, both of which were on my KDL40XBR4. Bottom line--love it so far.

Just received this last week. Of course, Amazon beat any other pricing by a wide margin - by at least $500 for the cheapest store bought price (on sale) and I even checked some stores on a walk in and they were charging $1,000 above the Amazon price or more. Delivery was free and could not wait to get this set out of the box. I researched a great many LCD's before picking this one. I wanted the very latest technology to ward off obsolesence, at the best price I could find, and am not disappointed one bit by this set. Easy set up, and just with the building's digital antenna, the picture is absolutely outstanding. There are many presets, but with a bit of tweaking, as it appears with most LCDs, you get a terrific picture. You can customize each preset if you wish. Setting adjustments are intuitive and the screen navigation is very easy. Sound is pretty decent as well, although I already have it hooked into my AV. I have already watched sports, television and DVDs and all have been

Wow! So I had just bought a Panasonic 50" G10 plasma, when my movers dropped my older HDTV and I was blessed with an insurance check to purchase this one. Comparing the two, they both have incredible picture quality, however in a lit room, the SONY looks the best (especially compared to the glare on the plasma panasonic). Then when you actually go to use it and want to utilize any of the features, the SONY just blows it away. I've always been a fan of the XBR lines, and this TV continues to exceed my expectations.
