My experience with this sound bar may not be typical, but be aware it does happen. I purchased this item to replace TV speaker with something better. I have a Vizio LCD TV so this should be a breeze to setup. First one didn't work. A call to Vizio tech for help, (they are friendly but just follow a script for troubleshooting), indicated the unit was defective. They sent me a prepaid shipping label to send unit back, upon receipt sent a new unit. Time 2 weeks. Second unit, did not function. Call to Vizio tech, same troubleshooting steps, indicated unit was defective. Again sent shipping label, time to next unit 10 days. Third unit finally worked as it should. The problem with the other two units was when you hooked them up and turned them on, all the volume lights lit, but the unit would do nothing other than turn off. No buttons on the unit or remote worked and unit did not indicate any inputs nor try to pair with woofer. Cons: see above, very poor manual, tech help is scripted only, remote is not very powerful (10 foot range), no SPDIF cable included, no off switch on subwoofer Pros: setup is easy, no wires to woofer, fairly attractive and unobtrusive, acceptable sound Comments on the sound. I am not an audiophile so please consider that. The sound is really better than the tv speakers, bass can be overwhelming but at least the subwoofer volume can be adjusted. Movies do sound more theater like in a typical living room (20 x 25) with full furniture, etc. Music is acceptable not great but not bad either. This is not 5.1 audio system. The SRS is marginal in imitating a full system. Overall if you don't want to invest in, and have speakers everywhere in the room, this is a decent choice to replace the tv speaker. The sound will be better, but far from a full theater experience. But be aware getting a unit that works may not be easy for you, it wasn't for me.
