The G10 is THE model to choose in the under $1500 50" HDTV class, and here's why:
-With it's THX mode, the color accuracy is now the best on the market. Yes, with the latest fireware update(updated via it's internet hook up), the G10 models have (finally) better color accuracy then the Samsung Plasma(650/850) models.
-It has the deepest blacks this side of the Kuro's(and LED's), which has more to do with a great HDTV picture then anything else. The Samsung lineup and all LCDs just cannot compare.
-It also has top notch whites(ie..pop), that in vivid mode you would think is an LCD/LED, rather then a plasma.
-It has THE best burn in protection of any plasma, with it's pixel orbitor and other features, and is far better then the protection the Samsung line has.
-It can handle the full 1080p lines of moving resolution, that the Samsung line and all LCD's/LED's, can still not handle.
-The G10 was measured as having the lowest input lag of

This was my second purchase from BB in my hunt for a new HD tv. My Samsung DLP was suffering odd issues and I convinced my wife to let me upgrade. The first one I brought home was the Sony KDL-52Z5100 LCD. I had pretty much decided on this after a bunch of reviews. Unfortunately after getting it home my wife was very disappointed. The SD channels my kids watched looked bad and both of us experienced eyestrain and headaches from watching it. After a week of this it was back to the reviews!
After reading all of these reviews, CNet and Amazon I pulled the trigger on this Panasonic. After getting it all setup and coming home from work the next day I asked my wife how did the TV go...she said she LOVED IT!
The LCD although very beautiful....didn't look 'real'. It was almost too perfect. I played with all the settings and just couldn't find a picture I was happy with.
The Plasma looked great straight out of the box on both THX and Standard. My only complaint is a bit

I have had the TC-P50G10 in the house for a few days now. My wife and I are thoroughly disappointed. I have been buying Panasonic TVs for many years, all the way back to the pana-black square CRT days. They have always been my favorite. I have a Panasonic plasma in another room of the house which is a few years old and have been very pleased with it. I was very confident when I purchased the TC-P50G10 from amazon based on the rave reviews from all the blogs (cnet, HDGURU, etc..). Everyone seems to love it. However, this 1080p plasma tends to be blurry, fuzzy or hazy. There is a dullness to the picture as opposed to the crystal clear dynamism that I expect from a top notch 1080p plasma. I notice it most when watching sports. When there are graphics on the screen, such as on Fox during the World Series when they display the box with a batters statistics, its blurry and muted. The text is fuzzy. Actually, any text displayed on the set is fuzzy. My wife noticed it first and I didn't want to

Went shopping for a new TV in October and was considering the new LED models, of course the prices were crazy, was hard to believe given the economy...anyway checked out many models and brands before settling on Panasonic. Really wanted the most up to date features (internet connectivity) on the set that I could afford without breaking the bank. Looked at the comparative info, it seems that everything out there compares itself to the gold standard of PLASMA 600Hz refresh rate so the decision was made to go with plasma for the refresh rate. Best LCD can do is 240Hz and oh you'll pay triple the price to get it...seems alittle backward less than half the performance at more than double the price! Considering improvements made with Plasma seems it is still the way to go. Especially when it was bundled with a 7.1 surround system for basically the sale price of the TV alone. Features and onscreen directions were easy to use and follow. Very happy with the deal for the entertainment system. Thanks

This TV is the closest to a Pioneer Elite you will ever get. The THX is dynamic but, read manual first. It is easy to adjust, easy to program, easy to set off-air antenna channels, etc. Before I bought this TV, I read the reviews by CNET and they bounce everything against Pioneer Elite. Some people are against the sound quality but for the money you must remember, you are not buying a $5000.00 surround system in this or any TV set. If you purchase this TV, buy the $199.00 calibration package that is done after the first 125 hours of use. You will not be sorry. The only negative thing I can say is, when the stations go to a commercial, the sound increases approx. -3dbm. The is a bit objectionable especially when the rubbish commercials are transmitted. Like I stated, if I was to buy another TV, the TC-P50G10 would be at the top of my list. One other problem and it was minor, progamming the DirecTv's remote to work the Panasonic TV. One phone call fixed that concern. If you buy it, I guarentee
