the plasma went bad at exactly 2 years, 2 months from date of purchase, it would cost 800.00 to replace, I paid 1200.00 for a tv for 2 years. the company refused to help at all, I hate this tv.

After looking at HDTVs for a while, I kept coming back to plasma. My wife and I went to our local BestBuy multiple times to compare various models and we kept coming back to this Samsung. We liked it better than similar models from other brands (e.g., Pansonic, LG, Insignia). About the only models that looked better were the higher end Samsungs and Sonys. If you are looking for a good HDTV in this size and price range, this one is it.
FYI - I haven't had any glare issues with this plasma even though I have a well lit living room. I've played both Wii games (RCA jacks) and PS3 games (HDMI) as well as watched Blu Rays on the PS3. The picture is great even with darker movies and games. With most games, I sit about 12-14 feet from the screen and see everything just fine.

So we ended our month long search for a perfect TV at Best Buy deciding btw the Panasonic & Samsung plasmas. We were a bit concerned with the possible glare with a plasma, but the price & picture quality eventually won over LCD screens. We heard Panasonic was the biggest plasma manufacturer, but we liked the Samsung picture slightly better, so we purchased it! Set-up was very easy. We hung it on the wall with no issues. The glare is VERY MINIMAL. We put it in a room with 3 windows and glare hasn't even been an issue. The picture is very lifelike & color is amazing. I have watched The Dark Knight on this TV over & over. It's GREAT. The one negative is we had people over last week, so I needed to turn up with TV volume & it was slightly distored & muffled. At normal listening volumes the speakers are fine. I will eventually get surround sound which will fix this.

This Samsung is great. I have both a 42 inch LCD and Plasma both by Samsung. I bought this on for the bedroom due to the price. The picture is just as good as my LCD. Has every feature you can need or want. The only complaint I have with it is the speakers. They rattle when turned up. I have the LCD in the living room hooked up to surround sound at all times so I did the same in the bedroom and turned the speakers off. With a blu ray this Plasma picture looks better than my LCD acutally does. I am so impressed with this TV. Samsung has done a great job. My family members have other brands and they all agree after seeing both the Plasma and LCD I have by Samsung they will only buy Samsung for now on. Now I am in the market to buy our daughter a flat screen for her bedroom for Christmas and we arent sure if it will be a LCD or a Plasma but we know it will be a Samsung.

There's nothing to say that hasn't already been said. I researched a ton as well, went into Best Buy and looked at a bunch of TVs side by side, settled on this Samsung, and have never looked back. I've had it for about two months now and have zero complaints. HD broadcasts look amazing, Xbox360 games look even better, and shows filmed in true HD (like Planet Earth) will blow your mind. DVD's played from the Xbox through an HDMI input look shockingly good. I wish that the third HDMI input was on the back instead of the side, but that's a minor quibble. Everyone who sees the TV -- on or off -- thinks I paid WAY more than $670 for it. Probably the only TV that I have seen that bests this one in picture is the $4500 Pioneer Kuro Elite, and I've seen my fair share. Sports are particularly great, little to no pixellation or motion blur. And just as everyone else says, don't let the 720p deter you. It just means that you're not paying top dollar for a technology that makes almost no difference
