WP-012-BK-E JOY Vertical Ergonomic Optical Mouse
All in all, a good mouse for recovering from carpal tunnel. a shame that they didn't make the mouse more "grippy" - it tends to require a more firm grip to keep he mouse from slipping out of your hand. Another flaw is that the buttons require a significant amount of pressure to click. My other mouse is a Logitech, which requires a light touch to click. Considering this is sold as an ergonomic mouse, they could correct these issue and it would be perfect.

I'm only rating this mouse a little better than a regular mouse since it's not very comfortable for those with large hands. It does seems to reduce wrist strain for me slightly, but it's not a good fit because of its small size. Really, this mouse should be released in at least two sizes, since it seems geared toward those on the small side (and I'm honestly not a person with giant hands). Of course if your hand are small to medium your experience may be very different than mine. Problems I encountered with this mouse based on this: -I often found it was easier to line my middle finger up with the top button and my ring finger with the bottom one. Clicking with these fingers wasn't really ideal. -If you hold the knobby tower part against the nook between your thumb and index finger (the most comfortable position), your fingers wrap around the front about an half an inch to an inch past where the normal buttons for clicking end. -Holding the mouse more loosely allowed for reaching the buttons more easily, but made it only slightly different than a normal mouse and decreased the sideways hand positioning a lot. The sideways hand positioning is the whole point. -My pinkie was dragging against the table and there really isn't anywhere to rest your hand without going back to a more traditional mouse position with a mouse pad with a wrist rest. Having said all this, I think if they scaled this mouse up in size and offered another version for people with larger hands, it would probably make most of these problems go away. The cord on the mouse is also a slight bit short if your computer is on the floor beneath your desk on your left and you hold the mouse on the right. Otherwise, the construction seems good, the price is right and the mouse is quite responsive otherwise. So if you've got small to medium hands you'll probably really like this mouse. With hands over medium size you'll probably like this mouse less.

This mouse is perfect if you have tiny hands. I Really wish they would make the same mouse only bigger. The scroll wheel falls on the middle of my finger when my hand rests completely on the grip, so I have to hold it with just my fingers and thumb instead of my whole palm. I also have trouble clicking with the right click button. The other night it seemed to be hurting up in my arm, I think that is because in order to use the buttons I have hold my hand off of the mouse so I'm actually using my arm muscles to keep my hand from resting on the mouse. I have yet to decide if it is better than my old regular mouse. I hope the manufactures read these reviews and make a bigger mouse. Until them I will continue to use it because it is better than a regular horizontal mouse.

A part of my job is to click literally 10,000 times a day. I was having a wrist tingling problem due to the extensive use of a regular mouse, so decided to buy this mouse after reading positive reviews. It did not take me long at all to get used to this mouse. I was able to use it comfortably almost immediately. I have to say that my wrist hurts less, but I have pain in other places. This mouse is NOT good for people with smaller hands. I feel that my hand is not big enough to feel comfortable holding this mouse. Also, the mouse doesn't click as smoothly as a regular mouse. It makes a loud clicking noise and needs much firmer clicking than a regular mouse.

I was experiencing early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist from extended use with a traditional shaped mouse. The pain in my wrist was starting to extend up the underside of my forearm and it was getting tougher and more painful everytime I used my computer. I tried switching to my left hand, but didn't have the same dexterity and precision as my right. Long story short, I gave the Wow Pen Joy mouse a shot and the pain went away almost immediately. I still stretch out my right forearm (bending fingers backward with arm extended) regularly, but there's no pain anymore because the nerves that run through the wrist now sit in a natural position. The only reason for not giving this device perfect marks is because the scroll wheel does squeak every once in a great while. The sound is noticeable in quieter environments, but is relatively minor as far as annoyances go. I wouldn't let that deter from purchasing this mouse though as it is greatly outweighed by the ergonomic benefits. It also has cool forward and back buttons easily accessed by your thumb which come in handy when drilling in and out of websites. Highly recommend it!

Mixed review on this one. It's inexpensive, which is great. But you get what you pay for. As an architect and graphic designer who needs precision and comfort, this might not be the mouse for you. It wasn't for me. I need a mouse with programmable buttons and that doesn't feel like it's going to break. It actually came defective, so the scroll wheel didn't work. I will be returning it and buying the Evoluent. As far as "Wow-Pen" as a company, the number given on their Operating manual didn't work, the Q&A section in their website is non-existant, the contact information on their website is incorrect for both US and Int'l headquarters... All in all a questionable affair. Having said that, I want to mention that I spoke with Scott at Ergoguys and he was as helpful as can be! Very patient, nice, and knowledgeable. Thank you for your recommendation and time, Scott. I will be purchasing through you guys. Nothing like caling a number and getting a real person with knowledge and care.

This mouse is amazing. My knuckles were killing me from all the clicking as I'm on the keyboard 8 hours a day. I used to rub then with with some kind of heat at night and try to crack them to make them feel better. This mouse stopped the pain almost completely in 2 weeks. It's wonderful. Don't wait for the pain to start, get this mouse now!!

I do data entry and I've had noticeably less wrist and elbow pain since I've started using the Wow Pen Vertical Mouse. Great product, good price.
