I tried Beats (Monster), Shure and Denon trying to find an in-ear headphone as good as the Bose (because the Bose falls out easily). To me, this one is as good as Bose or very close to it whereas Beats, Shure and Denon were not even close--and at $150 each they were all $50 more than Bose! Don't even bother with those 3 brands. This one by Sony is $20 less than Bose and is comparable quality.

These headphones actually sound pretty good, but I wanted to make sure everybody knew that the advertised "frequency range" specifications are completely false. I believe that because the specs are wrong on Sony's own website, that this information has been repeated on all others. I'm not sure if Sony is aware of this misinformation themselves, so I took the liberty of writing a review on the Sony Website as well. The online specifications for the "frequency range" (sound range output) states that these headphones can output at 4hz to 28Khz. This is wrong. This model's actual frequency range (as stated on the actual box it came in) is 5hz to 24Khz. This is a huge difference in numbers, and I think it's very unethical for Sony to put false information for it's product. I bought these headphones to upgrade from my Sony MDR-EX75 headphones. The MDR-EX75 were rated at 6hz - 24 khz... almost identical to these new MDR-EX300. And because the MDR-EX75 are much cheaper (with virtually the

Great Headphones for about 6 weeks.
After that don't even bother, the left ear went out on my first pair and then the right on the second.
If you want to every 6 weeks get new ones get them, if not go get something else.

These are the earbuds that I am currently using for my Sony X-Series Walkman. In the past, I have used the Sennheiser CX-500s, Klipsch Image S4, and now these. I love these the most because of the excellent design (I like how it goes behind the neck), Amazing sound quality (crisp highs mixed with solid lows and mids), and the cord adjuster which makes the cord length perfect for when I am outside. Also, these buds are very comfortable and block out external noise significantly, although they are not noise-isolating earbuds. I find that these earbuds present music the way it is supposed to be heard. In comparison with the Klipsch S4's, the MDR-EX300s can still produce detailed highs when turned up to high volumes, due to their large 13.5mm drivers. I found that the S4's highs sounded tinny when turned up at high volumes, probably because the buds could not handle it with its drivers. The Sennheiser CX-500s I found to have too much base and not enough detailed highs. The Sony MDR-EX300s provide

I've owned and used the Sony EX51s, 71s, 75s, and now the 300s, and these are by far the best of them all. The larger bass drivers make a huge difference in the sound, and the dynamic range overall is much better than anything I've heard before, even with traditional over-the-ear headphones. Even with the drivers, these earbuds fit snugly and unobtrusively in your ears, and while they will try to fall out if you're working out and sweating, it's easy to just push them back in. Some people dislike the cords, which are made so that the cord to the right earbud goes around the back of your neck. They are not supposed to hang down in front like the traditional stock iPod phones. That's why the left cord is so much shorter than the right cord. The idea is that you can remove the earbuds from your ears (for a conversation, for example) without having them fall off, and also if one of them slides out of your ear, it won't fall off. If you prefer the original iPod cord design, stick with
