There is nothing more to say to add to the other reviews. There is a reason why there are so many 5 star ratings. Just buy it!
No matter who you are, this is the game that you will enjoy. you can play the story in very easy mode to crushing. it is a game that you can not stop playing..it really does the best in telling the story. everything is so real that it makes its very easy to get lost in the world of Nate. can not go wrong buying this game.
This game I beat within 5 or so days but it was fun nonetheless. There is online multiplayer but i never messed around with the online portion. The single player is like a blockbuster movie with great backdrops/ set pieces throughout the campaign. The gameplay in this sequal is similar to the original, except you have a partner to help you throughout most of it. If you like great interactive entertainment that doesn't let up until it's over, pick this one up. You will be impressed!
I'll keep this short and sweet because I don't write many reviews. If you own a playstation 3, GET THIS GAME. If you own an xbox (which I do and I like WAY better than PS3) consider buying a PS3 for the sole purpose of buying this game. It might be one of the best games I've ever played. Great story line, wonderful atmosphere, and solid gameplay. The closest I've ever felt to being in an action movie.
First and foremost, I was a huge fan of Uncharted Drake's Fortune and I couldn't wait for this game. I played it and was thoroughly satisfied with the experience. However, I do think this game is a tad overrated when people say it's one of the best games of the decade, most likely because they missed out on the first game, which is equally as enjoyable in my opinion. Still the best game of 2009!
I'm just joining the chorus to say that this game is really good. I'm not much into the genre of kill-everything, shoot-everything type games, but this game had me intrigued from the beginning and then it started getting even better. Although there certainly is a lot of shooting, killing, and throw-down, there's also a lot of suspense, beautiful graphics, great acting, and an interesting story-line. It was actually the Shambhala related story-line that intrigued me. Shambhala is a mythical kingdom that comes from the Kalachakra tantra cycle of teachings in Tibetan Buddhism. It is the origin of the term "Shangri La" (a mispronunciation of Shambhala). As someone very interested in the Kalachakra tantra, I was wondering what this storyline would be about. How amazing that the main character, Drake, is after the Cintamani stone (Wishfulfilling Jem -- familiar to all Buddhists) on a chase that takes him to the mythical/mystical kingdom of Shambhala. There is even a point where Drake finds himself in a Tibetan village, and everyone is speaking Tibetan. (Perfect, real Tibetan -- a language I've studied!) At various places, a giant statue of Vajrakilaya, a phurbu (ritual dagger), dorjee (vajra) and various other Tibetan-related artefacts and references come into play. So, that's an added bonus if you're familiar with all this. If not, at least it's of some educational value for people who may not know much about Tibet and its endangered culture. So props to the designers for doing their homework. But, of course, what keeps one's interest are the hair-raising chases, near-misses, and the excellent storyline involving two lovely ladies and some really remarkable graphics and acting. What more could you want? The game has my heart pacing most of the time I'm playing at it. Probably good for me, for cardiac health, but maybe not advisable if you have a weak heart!
If you want to buy this product but have not played the first one, Uncharted - Drake's Fortune yet, then i would recomend that you do. It will give you a good background of the storyline and a good grasp of the controls to take you into this game. Uncharted 2 - Among Thieves is a very enjoyable game, made for those who like adventure and action, this game has almost everything you would like to see in a game, and i hope there are many more like it in the pipeline. The game plays out almost like a movie you can take part in, it has a fantastic storyline and is very easy to play, great scenic landscapes take you through the story which seems to go on forever, which is no bad thing, it is a very long game that when you have completed it will make you want to start again. Very very enjoyable game, recommend anyone to try it!
This game to me had all my top things I like in a video game which is a good story, a cool relatable lead protagonist, and fun game play mechanics like running and jumping, climbing, fighting, as well as shooting. The voices in the game are very well done and not corny or over done like in some games. and lastly, if you're a sarcastic kind of person like myself, than you'll appreciate Drake's little musings to himself while he's in action, as well as the interactions between Drake and the other lead characters. In a nutshell, a fun, humorous, entertaining, and beautiful game to look at because it has amazing graphics. ..don't this one slip by you
I am a big gamer and I can honestly say that this title is in the upper echelon of games that I have ever played. The action and platforming are seamlessly integrated to immerse you into a game that also doubles as a really good action film. Graphics 10/10: No brainer here. I would venture to say that only GoW3 and MGS4 can rival this game in terms of overall presentation Sound 10/10: The musical score paces the action perfectly and keeps adrenaline up at the right moments Gameplay 10/10: I always try to go for the toughest of challenges in any game that I play and while it's Crushing difficulty is not akin to Master Ninja mode on Ninja Gaiden or Dante Must Die Mode on Devil May Cry, it will definitely make you stop and think twice Truly superb gaming experience. Definitely go out and get this if you have not already done so.
I hate the concept of an interactive movie for a video-game. I feel that video-games and movies are two completely different mediums, and that trying to cross the two is kind of stupid. This game only serves as a reminder for me. It's still pretty fun, though. The action is usually fast-paced and exciting. I loved the little moments where you would sneak up on three guards, take one out with a stealth attack, shoot one, go hand-to-hand with the last one for a slow-motion take-down, and then jump from a broken wall open wall onto the roof of another building. One exciting scene involves you a building falling down with you in it! The game has tons of small to huge annoyances, though, that really drag it down. The difficulty is all over the place, the levels are often boring, and the game is ridiculously linear. The climbing sequences are terrible--more often than not, there'll be three or four objects that look climbable, with only one being actually climbable, and if you guess the wrong one, you'll fall to your death. The first game had this problem, too, but lacked this game's utter dependency on platforming and climbing. I'm not some hard-core "if you're spending even a nanosecond not shooting someone something needs to change" kind of person; I like the 3d platformer genre for the most part. This one, not so much. I personally don't like the story, but it doesn't detract from the game either. I do wish, though, since it's trying to be an interactive movie, that they had tried to make the characters more likable. None of the new characters were relatable or likable, and returning characters had an air of "tada! I'm back!". The graphics are amazing. I mean, really amazing. And not just from a technical standpoint, from an artistic standpoint as well. The animations are superb, top of their class. The sound is great, too. The voice acting, especially. There are about 20 levels in the game. The game gets off to a very bad start. In the first level you can barely move. It makes sense in the story, but it makes for horribly dull gameplay. There's one easy enemy in this level, and that's it. In the second you can't shoot anyone. I understand that the purpose of this level is to teach stealth, but they could've easily done that in a third the time. Then you're in some jungle for a few levels, with about ten minutes to get used to actually fighting enemies, and then you're completely swarmed with 50 or so. The rest of the game is a mish-mash of short fighting scenes, fleeing from vehicles (usually a helicopter, sometimes a tank), jumping off rooftops, climbing walls, and climbing walls to solve "puzzles". For three levels or so you're on a moving train. There are some other really cool sequences too, like when you're jumping from car to car on the edge of a cliff. Towards the end it goes into some ridiculous "run away" gameplay mode, and you spend a whole level running and swerving. Then there are a couple of huge battles. And then there's the boss. The boss is pathetic. There's none of the stealth, cover, platforming, or hand-to-hand combat from earlier levels, just a bunch of short-range shooting. And then it's over. All of that is about 6-12 hours long, depending on your skill level. Most of the levels are fun and exciting, however, the ones with climbing or puzzle-solving are going to bore you. I liked this game, but it doesn't come close to the hype. It's definitely worth renting--you'll probably be done with it in a few days anyway. Most people will love this game. While not without its flaws, it's at least a fun ride while it lasts.
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing!
Enough has been said about this game so I don't want to take more time to review it. All I can say is that you have not lived till you played this game.
I am not a big gamer but this is truly one of the very best I have played!
Buy this game if only to encourage them to create more games of its caliber. The single player I've played 4 times already and I am notorious for playing a game once and selling it before I even finish. The multi-player is great but the Co-op is the BEST. It nevers gets boring and its never generic point and shoot like Modern Warfare 2.
Take the time to play this game. It was a lot of fun with various puzzles, several different weapons and a great story line.
Pros: Gameplay, Graphics
Cons: Nothing
A truly great game and requirement for anyone who owns a ps3. In fact it's a reason to buy one if you don't. The graphics are unbelievable, the storytelling is great, and the gameplay is incredibly fun. It definitely ranks as one of my all time favorite games. On top of the single player it also offers a much better than expected multiplayer. Give it a shot and you'll find yourself logging on a ton of hours playing that after being the single-player campaign.
