Great little machine! The on/off switch is a little hard to "hit" in the dark, but that's ok too. No software, you have to load from Windows Mediaplayer. Again, that's ok. Works great! And, you can make "favorites list" right on the machine.

I found this product to be very user friendly. The sandisk I purchased previously was great but this was a definite upgrade. I love it!!!!! I would purchase this item again If I had to. BW

I love the long battery life & the small size. The picture quality isn't what I expected, kinda pixely. I use it with Rhapsody & get MOST of the songs I want.

Sandisk does it again. The Sansa Fuze is an excellent product and beat Apple hands down in ease of use, features and price. Nice little package with built-in FM radio. Works easily with Windows Media Player or simply drag and drop the music files on to the device. OH and you can expand the memory with a MicroSD card, something Apple will never do. My Sansa Fuze replaces my Sansa Clip which was running out of memory. But I love the Clip as well.

This little player is fantastic and the price is simply amazing. Read the other reviews for all the features etc. I only have one complaint, but it was not enough to drop it to 4 stars. The "manual" included with the player is worse than awful and to make matters worse, Sansa tells you in that manual to go to their website at "www.sandisk.com/fuze" to get the full manual and Sansa Media Converter (the converter is required if you want to watch videos). The website location does not exist and even if you go to the home pages of sandisk.com or sansa.com, the links to this product don't contain manual, software or anything else of interest. Amazing that a gazillion dollar company like SanDisk/Sansa has a website that is so poorly done. In order to get the full owners guide and media converter, go to google.com and type in "Sansa Fuse manual" and you'll find the download in the first five or six links. Do the same for the free converter and type "Sansa Media Converter" and it will be

I bought this to basically listen to audio books , but now I have my grandkids pictures to show off, I listen to soundtracks from cds that I quickly downloaded , great radio stations and for my "BUY" or "RENT" audio books it couldn't be easier . I love this little thing and it goes with me everywhere.

This is truly a great all around MP3 Player. The MicroSD card slot kills it; a 16gb micro SD card is easy attainable through ebay for ~$25. The radio is really good, the video is legit. The voice recorder make this a college student's dream, you can listen to the player while you take it to class, then record lectures in a digital format while you are in class. The microphone is pretty legit. It may not be as mainstream or, in my opinion, as good looking as an iPod nano, but for the money it is probably the best choice. The current generation iPod nano is quite schnazzy, but this definitely kills the previous generation iPod nano.

very durable, easy to use, expandable, great sound quality, good battery life, voice recorder. everything I want in an mp3 player, and it was cheap, doesn't require a fat proprietary piece of software COUGHitunesCOUGH to use it. I love the player. its a bargain and better than more expensive alternatives.

This is the message I got on four different computers when I connected the MP3 player: "one of USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Replace the device." I guess I just got "the rotten apple" since so many have given five and four stars to this product.

Ultra fast shipping, thanks Overstock. This is my second Sansa. Let me tell you this MP3 is really fantastic, easy to use, nice price, good capacity, excellent sound, excellent suppot (from Sansa website). I can't understand why to buy a expensive iPod when you have this fantastic choice. 100% Recommended. SANSA RULES !!!

I got this as a replacement to my phone which i have to use 2 cables to listen to music. This player is good other then the battery life. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WHAT IT SAYS. i fully charged it and only got about 3 hours of continuous use and thts putting the screen to turn off as fast as possible and the brightness in minimal time the setting have. Its a alright player. I also like the feature tht is can use microSDHC cards which means it can supprt the 32gb microSD which would be like having a IPOD but way smallerWould of been better if the battery lasted a little longer. I work a 8hr shift and i need a player tht will last at least what i work.Overall the player and the screen is nice and i just cut the plastic tht it comes in so tht i can access the controls and it can protect the screen and not have to pay 25.00 for the case. I would NOT recommend this product if u plan on listening to it for more then about 2-3 hours cause u wont be able to cause the battery would die.

This was purchased to help learn spanish. It has proven to be an excellent MP3 player. Very impressed with the capabilities of the FM radio, has excellent reception of stations in my area.Screen is a little small for videos/movies but in a pinch it works well.

This product has a very good price for the features offered. It has a great battery life & is easy to operate. The only small problem is the on/off switch. It can be difficult to use.

I have been holding back buying one of these due to the costs of an iPod. When I saw this one I was amazed at the price difference. I had my geek son look it over at a store and he said it appeared to be a good value. So far, it has been. I am enjoying taking the music I like wherever I go. :-)

I wanted an MP3 player for my wife. We kind of both dislike iPods because of all the proprietary software. This unit has been great for my wife. She doesn't claim to be a techie, and she absolutely loves the ease of use that this unit offers. The sound quality is very good through the ear buds. We have turned the FM receiver on and listened to it all night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Sansa Fuze is better than The ipod nano line and has more features, I don't like ipods mainly because they are overpriced and don't have many features. Sansa Fuze has great sound quality and good battery life. You can have up yo 24gb of storage with a 8gb fuze and a 16gb memory card until 32 gig cards come out.

This is one of the best mp3 players I had paid for and will keep using it instead of the ipods you can buy more micro sd card to install if you need more room. Worth the money I use it at the gym everyday running on the treadmill keeps me busy and less bored. Quality stays in tack when you are running I say may need to buy new ear phones but they one it comes with is okay.

I've enjoyed the Sansa overall, however it's had this occassional maddening problem of hanging up on a video and freezing. The only cure I've found is to plug it back into the computer and delete the file it's hung up on. Very frustrating if that happens early in the day and I won't be able to plug it in and correct it until I get home at night.

I'm not impressed with the Fuse .. it's very buggy (keeps locking up for no reason, zombied and have to reinstall the firmware). The amp isn't very powerful, battery life is limited. Not recommended

The Sansa Fuze is a good value. I especially like the expandability, radio and recording capability. The sound quality is good, but the ear buds that come with it are less than ideal. I use mine for hours at a time and tend to get a little tiresome after about 4 hours. My one gripe would be the limited media manager choice. I'm a Linux user, and it's very easy to add and remove files. Simply drag and drop. However, creating play lists is rather tedious and at times unpredictable. It seems only the Microsoft Media Player can create usable play lists effortlessly. The Fuze does play the audio file formats that I use, ogg, mp3 and the occasional, flac or wma. I haven't really tested the video quality and usability yet. I previously used an iPod Nano 3G and I much prefer the Fuze.

my father had reccomended this product to me after he had his for about a year. his seemed to work well and had no issues. Mine more or less, the screen scratches VERY easily. Video quality could be better, the lack of being able to set wallpapers is a small setback, the sound quality is very good, and the headphones included are a match made in heaven.

I bought a Sansa Fuze about a month ago and love it. I want to buy one and give it to everyone I know--it's that good!! I'm a major music lover and I had about 3,000 songs in my Windows Media Player. We were going on vacation and I decided that a player would be much easier way to take my music with me than it would be to take a bunch of CD's. It was extremely easy to copy the music from the Windows Media Player to the Fuze. One comment before you begin--make sure that you want to keep the free songs that they have pre-loaded to your Fuze. I was worried about room, so I listened to the songs already on the player and while they were really good--they weren't songs that I wanted, so I deleted them one by one. To transfer music to the Fuze, I just connected it to the computer via the usb port, then I went to the Media Player library and on the top right side, clicked on "now playing list", selected "sync list" and then highlighted my entire library and dragged the songs onto

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. He told me that he didn't want an mp3 player. But, I decided to get it for him anyway. He LOVES it! It is very easy to use. You will not be sorry!

Thid is the second Sansa Fuse that I have purchased. My first one lost and I was very upset. It was much easier to use than an Ipod and I could not tell any difference in the quality. The price blows Ipod out of the water.

I bought this as a gift. It has been very easy for the recipient to use. Syncing with windows media player is a breeze. The ability to add files through the folders is also nice. Recipient runs with the player and says the jogging does not cause any loss of sound. I will probably buy one for myself as well.

It didn't me long to figure out one of the best things about this product. I can only speak for Ubuntu users, but you have never seen a more plug and play device in your life. Those of you Linux people know what I'm talking about. You don't have to worry about software or anything. Just plug it in, put your tunes on it, enjoy. From what I understand, this is also the same with Windows and I don't know about Macs, but for those nonconformists, this may be twice the size of a nano, but it's still half the price. As for Zune users, try plug and play with that thing on anything other than a Windows machine. Give open source products and products that work with open source a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I was shopping around for a decent MP3 player and chose this one. I have only owned one other mp3 player before this one, and that was a very old model that only held a few songs. I found this player to be very easy to use and even easier to load with music and videos. It uses a simple drag and drop system. No software is needed for this device except if you want to add pictures or video. In that case, Sansa has a free software program for converting videos and pictures. The sound quality is good and the FM radio works pretty well. The album system could be better, in letting you create your own albums on the device. What Sansa reads is the album listed on the mp3. You need to label your mp3s accordingly for the device to recognize albums. Overall it is a very good deal for the price. I have about 900 songs plus a few music videos on mine. I don't use the cheap earpieces it came with, I use my own headphones. It is a good idea to purchase a cover for this. There are plastic

This is a great little device. The storage capacity is equal to an i-pod Nano, greater if you use the available micro SD slot, and 8 GB is a lot of music. The sound quality is good, the interface and controls are mostly self-explanatory and easy to use, the battery life is impressive and the FM receiver is surprisingly sensitive. I wish it shipped with a complete manual, or at least something a bit more detailed than the fold-out quick start guide. The manual is available online but unless you print it out, you're stuck sitting at your computer while you read it. The biggest problem for me was the earbuds that come with the player. The sound is decent but they're one size fits all, and they don't--they're too big for my ears so for me they're prohibitively uncomfortable. Also, I somehow popped off the foam cover on one of them while trying to accommodate my ear to it, which rendered the set pretty much unusable when I couldn't find the cover. As it happens I already had a set of very

Good sound quality. Great Price. I don't actually use the video's on this device so I don't how well that feature works, but I do store Mp3s and Photos on there. One thing: I wish I had also gotten a screen protector laminate. My screen got scratched up recently.

This is a very affordable mp3 player that works just great! Ipods are out of my price range and from all I have heard, don't stand up to long-life usage. I love my Sansa Fuze; go for it!

It is a very nice MP-3 play. The software that comes with it is easy to use. It rapidly copies ALBUMS to the "Rhapsody" program and your MP-3. I got it on the recommendation from "Consumers Reports". I would like to have the capability to record from DirecTV music channels, or from the FM radio. JC

I liked everything about this MP3 player. It's ease of use, great sound, etc. And then one day the thing just died. Just stopped working after about 8 months. So I bought another. I figured what the hell, it's much cheaper than an Ipod and it really does have good features. I figured I'd take another shot, worth the money and the risk. And today my second one died after only two months. These things are garbage and I would never buy another one. Save your money or buy something else

This MP3 player really exceeded my expectations. I have been using the older smaller GB players with the batteries, for years. Purchased this one for many long road trips to come and have been very satisfied with it. Also purchased the cover, and chargers, car and house. Great product for the money. Would recommend it to just about anyone.

I purchased one of these for myself at the end of 2008 and was so impressed with it that I bought one for my friend. We are both quite impressed with the performance. This MP3 player packs a lot of bang for the buck and is virtually idiot-proof. Don't even bother with instructions. Just plug in and transfer files. You'll be up and running immediately.

This device froze up a couple times when I was first loading it but then it seemed to work well for about a month and today it just shut off and would not come up at all. I wish I'd bought the iPod. What a waste of money!

I bought this MP3 last weekend and love it!!! it works with all my mini SD and mini SDHC memory cards!!! the only complants I really have about it are that the screen is to small for most movies and the screen scatches easily, but that is a easy problem to fix with a screen protecter. over all a really great MP3!!!!

I finally got so completely annoyed with iTunes, my iPod, and Apple in general that I wanted something else. So I looked around online and in the stores, read some reviews, asked some questions. The Sansa Fuze 8GB came highly recommended. So I got one from Amazon. First off... better price than any of the stores plus free shipping. Yay Amazon!! Then when I got my hands on it, I instantly fell in love with it. Very easy to set up and use. Donwloaded my music from Windows Media Player and pictures instantly, I barely had to do anything. Then I listened to it... WOW! Better sound quality and clarity than I ever got from any iPod. Now, if you read some of the other reviews here, you'll see that one person says the control pad is too sensitive... he's right... it is. Definietly could use more friction, but I got the transparent hard snap on case and that helps me not bump into the control as much. My own personal tiny little gripe: it comes with A LOT of pictures and music samples

Half the cost of iPod More features Better sound quality-really GREAT sound quality NO ITUNES HASSLES Nice form factor Good user interface Have been using mine daily for a year and a half. No significant issues. Occasional "fritz-out" requires re-fromatting (twice, I think) As with any sort of computer use, careful file management gives better results. Regarding the video, the advertising copy states: "Simply connect the player to a PC, and start dragging files from your Windows Media Player 10 or 11 applications." This is NOT TRUE. You need to use Sansa's little accessory application called Sansa Media Converter. It doubles or triples the size of the file for a 1.9" screen. Many complaints about Sansa Media Converter. Do not buy this if frequent and easy video use is very importatnt to you. I convert You-Tube videos to avi files and these little ten-minute clips work fine. Feature length films are not going to work out really well. the micro SDHC card give you another 8 gigs

I really love this player. Lots of features, easy to use and feels good in your hand. Very rich and full sound but could be a little louder. I do wish you could Play while charging but the screen comes on (and stays on) and displays "Connected" while plugged in. Very easy to transfer files, any kind of files.

The Fuze packs a lot of features for the price. Good storage capacity, decent FM radio (I'm surprised how much I use this), nice design and build quality. The headphones are kind of marginal, though. I replaced mine with the headphones that came with my computer. Better sound, longer cord, and a volume control on the cord, which I find very useful. On the whole, I would highly recommend the Fuze to anyone shopping for an MP3 player - especially when you compare prices.

This is the second player I have purchased within the last 6 months. It has been an excellent performer. I utilize it mainly for downloading AUDIO books for my aging parent, as she is used to reading a book a day, and can no longer read. This has been a very enjoyable form of book reading for her. One player stays with her all the time, the other I'm loading books onto so she is never without. Ease of operation has helped tremendously.

This is my first MP3 player. I wanted it mainly for listening to audiobooks. I did a lot of research and then submitted the info on 3 to my daughter for her input. She is the techno junkie in the family. I had decided the Sansa Fuze would be the best one for me and she agreed. It is very easy to use. I really like the record feature as well as the fm radio. I have even learned how to transfer casssette tapes to my computer and then on to the Fuze. I am a 62 yr old grandmother and if I can figure this out anyone can. It really is easy. If you are thinking of getting one - go for it, you won't regret it. It fits in my pocket and I use it while driving, every day. I also got the extended warranty from Square Trade as well as a silicone skin. I didn't think I would ever drop it (I'm careful with my stuff) but I did and the skin saved it I'm sure.

I really like the Sansa Fuze. It has great sound and I like support for Replay Gain. It allows you to listen to all your music without having to continually adjust the volume from one song to another. I also enjoy listening to the bookmarking feature for audio books. I would recommend to anyone!

If you are just looking for an mp3 player, and don't need it to do everything under the sun then this is a great buy. Cheapest 8 GB mp3 player I've seen and has a slot to expand its memmory with the SD memmory cards. I love this thing, lots of space, and it can double as flash memmory for my computer if I want to take files around with me. My only complaint is battery life. If you let it play music the whole time and never touch the screen or buttons it lasts the advertised 15 hours. But having to use the screen or watch video greatly reduces this time. But it charges quickly and I found a car charger for less than 3 dollars online so even if it does run out I'm always near someplace it can be recharged. Music sounds great, earphones it comes with are pretty good. I really like this device, gave it 4/5 instead of 5/5 because of battery life. I don't like how it organizes the music. It uses the same type of format as windows media player's library and I hate it. But with a little

My son owns an iPod and I like it, but the price, reviews, and features of the Sansa Fuze attracted me. I recieved the item within four days and was surprised just how easy and quick it was to get going. For anyone that wants good music sound and decent video, it's a great little unit. I found the menus large enough to see on the go and a breeze to navigate. The refurb looked like new and I picked up an 8 gig add on card, a car and home charger, and a hard case with accessory bag all for a price under the iPod 8 gig. If you want simple easy to use with the ability to add memory this is a great little unit.

The Sanza Fuze is a great media player with excellent sound quality. With the latest firmware, it also supports flac and ogg which is a plus. It allows the user to choose between mtp and msc mode. However, there are some minor issues. 1. Poor support of id3v2.4. Be sure to tag mp3s with id3v2.3 or the fuze will have issues displaying song information (it truncates titles that are too long). 2. Sandisk software is required to convert video to the correct working format. This means linux users cannot have video. 3. AAC (format used by itunes) is not supported. If you do not use itunes and don't care about video, this is a great media player. If you are dependent on itunes, you may want to look elsewhere or spend a lot of time converting files.

I received this product as a gift from my wife. It played great execpt for when you locked the device it kept playing the same song over twice than would move to the next song. I contacted SanDisk and they had me download the latest firmware which I did. It helped a little but did not cure the problem. I wrote them back and after about 7-8 emails saying they would contact me and never hearing from them I gave up. What I have is what I have. Would I buy another one don't belive so, I would take another look at the other products out there. Bob

This is the 2nd player I have bought from Overstock. The 1st was for myself and was the same brand and GBS, the other was for a gift. Both were good values and hold a lot of music - I have more than 60% left to fill.

For the size, price and features, this is one of the best little players around. I would highly recommend it. However, after I purchased mine, I ended up returning it. I purchased the Fuze because it was small, it offered the potential for the most storage space of any small player (8gb internal + 16gb micro card), and it retained a few basic buttons something I didn't want to give up (I came from a 100% touch sensitive ancient iPod which I loathed using because of the touch sensitivity issues). My minimum storage requirements for my music is 24gb which this device offered (16gb for music/audio books and plenty of headroom for growth). Here's why I returned it: 1. It is almost too small (large fingers/thumb and screen size). One of the key selling points for me but in practical use nearly a drawback. 2. I relied heavily on the expandable memory (16Gig micro card) and I couldn't easily figure out how to separately sync the internal and expandable memory. They show up as separate devices

I am kind of up in the air about recommending this player so I chose not to. I do not like that it comes with almost worthless instructions and trying to figure it out on my own was just too time consuming. I downloaded the manual , which is 38 pages and it does have pretty good directions in it. I really hate all the pre-loaded stuff on it and to delete it all is a real pain in the back end. Also, I hate the fact that you have to have to Rhapsody software for it. I did not realize I would have to spend $70.00 dollars for that. I have a fifteen day trial for it now. The downloading on this player is pretty slow. The sound is actually better than I anticipated but I will probably still have to buy other earphones since the buds do not stay in my ears. All this makes it a pretty costly portable device in the end. I think saving up and getting a new generation I-pod may be better. I will try this player for a week or so but may be sending it back.

I read all the negative reviews and all the whining on Google, but my brother-in-law has had nothing but SanDisk MP3 players. He says he won't have any other. I had a Zune and it was the worst thing ever. How I longed to be able to just drag and drop music into folders without fighting for hours with the idiotic software and the device and everything. This player is great. Buy one. Buy two!

I consider myself an audio and technology freak so here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1) it's not an Apple product 2) comes in black 3) well priced for the amount of space you get 8gigs + the ability to expand using the card slot 4) the audio quality is very good and the 5 band equalizer is also top notch 5) small, light, yet feels solid Cons: 1) it's slow to delete songs taking 25+ seconds (probably longer the more songs you have) 2) it's slow to play the next song; when i hit next i want the next song to play immediately, there's a bit of a delay 3) the proprietary data/charging cord is simply retarded (why couldn't they use a miniUSB cord and keep things consistent thus reducing WASTE?) I'm pretty content with this purchase and you will be content too if you are looking to save money on an mp3 player that feels solid and isn't an Ipod.

This is one little marvelous unit. I am not a techie and do not have the skills of use of the younger kids. But, I love this thing. It has clarity of sound and a great little screen. I bought it on the recommendation of one of the guys who works for me. I love it. Easy to use, it is easy to charge - on my computer and it has an ease of use that is commendable. The sound quality and presets are easy and make for a unit that is a great thing to throw into the briefcase for days when you want to see or hear something fun!

this player has improved a lot. To start with now it has the option of erasing a file, if you want, when you want. The response is very fast whenever you press any button. Sound is great as usual.

Seriously. I've had it for 15 months. A couple months ago I stepped on it drunk, somehow, and smashed the wheel into the device. I could still turn the wheel but not really, like barely. And then yesterday I left it in my pocket and sent it through the wash. I was like, Oh man, that s(cks. It didn't work, of course. I set it on a fan and came back a few hours later. Still doesn't work. I plug it into the computer; turns right back on (even with foggy windshield). It works perfectly now, the wheel works as good as new, inexplicably. Honestly I cannot remember the last time I was so impressed with the durability and staying-power of...really anything, since the 8-bit Nintendo game system (just blow, jiggle it in the Nintendo, and push "Power" and it works). OK, I bought 3 iPods before this, they all crapped out within the 6-month to 1-year time-frame (conveniently when the warranty was not valid, except when I bought the 15-gig when they first came out, that apple discontinued, that went

You can play music, videos, audio books, and view your photos on this little baby. How much more can you ask? There's a bit of a learning curve with regard to operation and syncing, but I'm sure it's no worse than with other players. I recommend buying an inexpensive accessory kit with the player (USB cable, protective cover, AC adapter/charger, etc.). Also, the earphones are acceptable, but you may want to upgrade them. If you get tired of the earphones, go to Wal-Mart and get a small, inexpensive iHome speaker system. Download the firmware, manual, and media converter from Sandisk's web site and you'll have a player that can do it all.

I loved this player when I first got it. It was a vast improvement over the 4gig Sansa player that I already owned. However, after about a month it stopped accepting any new music, I contacted Sansa and got no help whatsoever. I then formatted the player and tried to load my music again and now it has wiped out all the music that was on it and I can't get any new music loaded onto it. Sansa is useless when it comes to tech support and I would like to return it to them but they are giving me grief about that as well.

I've tried a ton of MP3 players. A TON. And for the money, I will argue that you can't find a better MP3 player on the market. I've owned and loved Sansa MP3 players for years. They have a great interface, are super easy to use, and have excellent sound quality. The Fuze, as opposed to the View, has the same sound processing as the amazing Clip. What does that mean? That means that this MP3 player arguably has the BEST sound quality of any MP3 player right now. It's thin, light, and bright. It has a great screen (would be handy for movies, although I haven't tried watching any yet) and a very slick interface. It has a rubberized back which makes me much less paranoid about babying this player. I can toss it around on the table or in my pocket and not have to worry about scratching it up. I use a protective clear skin on the front (from bestskinsever) and it keeps the screen pristine and scratch-free. The absolute best part about the Fuze is the microSD slot. I have the 8 GB player,

I added the 8gb expansion card for about $15. Thus for just a little over $100 I have a 16gig music player, with FM radio, picture & video capability (albeit on a pretty smallish screen), and audio recording-capability. The Fuse is very compact and light, runs for 15-18 hours on a charge, and is super-easy to load files on. I don't bother with WMP sync-ing, just use the Fuse like an external drive, dragging-and-dropping albums and photos. Works simply and integrates the internal flash memory with the expansion card seamlessly. A nice product, and IMO an excellent value. The only gripe, heard here often, is the proprietary USB cord. Have to be careful not to lose that!

I bought this to escape the tyranny of iTunes and to improve sound quality. I only succeeded at the former. Itunes is a resource-hogging annoying creation, but I see why Apple has the market share that they do - it is easy to use when it's not locking up your PC. Dragging and dropping files on the Fuze is very efficient and preferable to me. Now onto the hardware. I bought the Fuze because of its recently updated firmware that allows the usage of FLAC files. I have listened to the same song on my 2G Nano (aac format) versus the Fuze (in FLAC format) on my Shure E3C headphones and I can't tell the difference. I know I am supposed to, but I can't and on top of it I find that the 20 or so hour battery life drops down to about 5-7 when playing FLAC files (I think I have the Hummer equivalent of MP3 players). The built in radio for NPR is awesome - someday when Apple is a little more secure with itself maybe they will offer that built in (please don't tell me about the $50 clump of wires

Lost my m270 on a trip replaced it with this one. Awesome little item the earphones are amazingly good. Downgraded by one because with a plastic case it males it even more difficult to turn the darn thing on and off. Why they couldnt put a button on the front I dont know

I bought this mp3 about around christmas and i really haven't had a problem with it , the battery is great and last long , the music quailty is good it just depends in what you load onto it , if the song is not the best quailty when you load it , its not going to be the best on the mp3

It's a great gadget. And I have got it to take music and pictures. But even with the sansa converter I can't get it to load short videos.
I know it will do it because one is loaded on it when I got it.
If anyone can give good instructions for the process, please post it on a sansa review.
Thanks

I bought the Sansa Fuze 8gb as a Christmas present to myself. My sole purpose of buying a player was to listen to podcasts while riding the subway. The Fuze operated as described for about a week. Then, suddenly, it stopped accepting podcast files. Indeed, one of the reasons I chose the Sansa was the simple drag-and-drop facility, since this device is recognized under XP and Vista as just another external disk -- supposedly, no fussing with "sync" and all the other nonsense connected to the iPod that just died on me after only a year of on-and-off use.
The problem was solved by following user suggestions to begin dropping the podcasts in the Music folder, which I did. The Sansa operated for another month or so ... and then the battery stopped charging. More searching on forums and how-to bulletin boards suggested that this is another common problem with the device. I can't really bother with the proposed solutions -- a dozen steps, pull this out, plug this in, switch this off, restart

I like the product quite well, however there were no instructions included and it took a bit of time to become familiar with the product. I purchased a silicone sleeve. It protects the body but leaves the screen open to be scratched. Also, it impedes use of the on-off switch. Nonetheless, it's an excellent product and I am very happy with it.

I never used to think I wanted a dedicated Flash music player, but there was a great deal on the 8GB Sansa Fuze this past Christmas and so I stuck one on my wish list.
I can't get over how great it is. It's got great sound quality, fabulous battery life, a slick (decidedly iPod-inspired) interface that lets me quickly select what I want to listen to with a minimum of fuss.
Really easy to use, too. I'm a Linux user, but I've plugged it into Windows machines too--I don't need to go through any desktop applications, just drag and drop the music files to the player. File support is great too; it'll play not only MP3s but Ogg Vorbis files (which make up a chunk of my collection) as well.

This little player is a bargain. Your going to be hard pressed to find another 8gb player with these features at this price. Very nice build quality, above average user interface. Above all the sound quality is stellar judging by 320kbps tracks I used on it. Good soundstage, full & neutral.
That said the player does not come with software, which is fine as it will work with Windows Explorer or Windows Media Player as an MTP (media transfer protocol, for protected content such as Rhapsody) or MSC (mass storage compliant). Unfortunately it will not work with Winamp (my preferred media organizer) without rolling back Windows Media Player to version 10 (there is a conflict between Winamp and version 11).
My other gripe is that the expandable external memory (the MicroSD card) is seen as separate from the device's own internal memory. What does this mean? If you have 8gb of internal and 8gb of external for a 16gb combined and want to put 16gb of media on the player you have to do your

After several failed hard drives and delaminated logic boards in iPods, it's great to have a FANTASTIC mp3/video device that that works like a dream and is expandable!! I highly recommend the Sansa Fuze!
