I hate how people compare this game to oblivion, it's nothing like that game. Oblivion was great, but I prefer variety. One disappointed review mentions this game being nothing like oblivion other than being an rpg(and being in the fantasy world?), and thank goodness. That's like asking for mass effect to be like fallout. I cherish both games, but praise the maker it isn't so. The game has so much depth and there's already more DLC coming. Do your research people--watch video reviews, they help you know what's in the game, zOMG.

The game is overall very good. Besides it not being very exciting the only other thing i don't like is all the talking. I can't sit down and spend 3 minutes talking about things i don't care about.

It's not so bad if you can put up with 30 minutes of talking and 10 minutes of play every so often.

While people may say the storyline, while unique, follows a line similar to Oblivion, thus far it is very enjoyable. I highly recommend playing as a Mage if you like magic, since it seems they are the most effective class against enemies. The interface is different but neat, I like the point of view although I wish it had the option to go to single person POV. It is a very fun game so far and I am only up to the end of the first major quest after the initial story ends. This game really strikes me like another Oblivion in that I think i'll be playing it for months before I get bored with it. Only down side is theres no MP. The Graphics are stellar, but you will need a high end system to run it full on. I am running 1080P resolution, everything maxed out except AA which I have on 4x, and at 1920x1080 with VSync on running on an Intel Core 2 Quad @ 4GHz, 4GB of RAM & 2 GTX 285s in SLI I am averaging between 30-60 fps at all times unless I'm in extremely heavy combat. It helps if

I went into Dragon Age: Origins with mixed feelings. After my initial excitement over the announcement of the game a few years ago, my thrill was muted by the marketing and most of the emphasis from media sites and from Bioware/EA themselves. Using Marilyn Manson's "This is the New Sh-t" in their marketing seemed curious, when you consider the song is talking about presenting something new, but underneath it's the exact same thing he/they have been releasing for years. That sentiment didn't exactly ooze confidence that Dragon Age would be something special. Ironically, the song does tell the truth in some ways; Origins is the new sh-t. It just so happens that Bioware's sh-t is probably better than most other RPG developers could hope for. Origins begins with one of six stories. When you create your character, you'll select a race, a class and are given one or two possibilities for an origin story. These stories are fascinating in and of themselves, presenting you with the choice

This is the best RPG the has come out in a long long time. Bioware has managed an exceedingly rare trifecta: a great story, an epic world, and fun tactical combat. Fallout 3 only had the latter two. Morrowind only the first two. Oblivion, IMO, only the realized the second. KoTOR the first and the second. Etc... Dragon Age, on the other hand, has it all. PROS: First of all the writing is fantastic. While the game sits squarely within the traditions of high fantasy, the game does a pretty good job of reinventing the wheel and producing a more gritty, naturalistic take on the genre. Not since Planescape Torment has an RPG offered such well-crafted and nuanced dialogue and storylines. Secondly, the world is epic. Epic. Thousands of years of history which you can optionally peruse at your leisure via "codex" entries that you find as you play. Only the Elder Scrolls series has constructed as detailed of a world as the one you'll find in Dragon Age. Finally, the combat is actually fun.

I would describe Dragon Age: Origins as a spiritual sequel to Baldur's Gate with a distinct Mass Effect feel and better camera control. The game has a deep and beautiful story with great NPC variety and lots of dialogue. It's not a flawless game, but it's deserving of RPG of the year hands down. I purchased both the XBox 360 and PC versions of the Collector's edition and in comparison I must say that the PC version is VASTLY superior. The graphics are better (360 only has medium resolution textures due to space constraints), the interface is significantly better and actually makes sense on the PC, the camera and unit control on the PC is fantastic and non-existant on the 360, and the difficulty on the PC is much more in line with what it should be (same difficulty is easier on the 360).

Character creation is wonderful have spent many hours just creating new heros. Has a well developed story lines, that are almost free form.
its the game that Fable should have been, you take the best of Oblivion and KOTOR, the this is the game.

So far this game has been great. The story is well developed and the gameplay is very smooth. The graphics are great, both in game and during cutscenes. Character creation is easy and your character image is highly customizable. The only problem I had was getting use to the camera. The controls for it are a little tricky until you get use to them, especially if you're character is inside, but once you figure it out it's not a problem. Definitely one of my favorite games of 09.

A little ways into the game and so far I like it a lot. Character creation was easy but also allowed for a very customized character. The game play is very fun so far. Dialogue is good and keeps the story moving along.

The one thing that takes a little getting used to is the camera. It is easy to control but it takes a little getting used to when moving around, especially in interior environments.

First things first: in the past I have chastised EA a number of times for its release of cookie-cutter games, crippled with atrocious DRM schemes. So, in all fairness, I now have to say this: DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS IS A GAMER's DREAM! It is an excellent game - and it comes FREE of any DRM madness. So, thank you EA for listening to your customers. This is one of those games that are easy to control, a joy to roam through and fun to play at no end. I am a huge cRPG fan and cannot remember such a great companion/squad cRPG ever since the Baldur's Gate Saga. And to tell you the truth, this is the game I was dreaming of being able to play one day while playing BG (yeah, by now we all know that NEVERWINTER NIGHTS never delivered). There are about a dozen gender/race/class/background choices and a great many combinations in forming your party. The armor and the weapons are exceptionally made and everything shows on your characters. And the graphics are truly beautiful! You have to see the rendering
