Dear Sir/Madam, I'm sorry to inform you that I received the Apple MacBook MB466LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop with a malfunction in the hard disk! I sent you a message with this concern, but there was no respond from your side! I had to buy a replacement from the local market. Furthermore, the used speaker I received (BOSE SoundDock) is malfunctioning as well, it makes noise and the remote control is not working! I am an old customer for amazon.com , but this is the first negative experience I have ever since I started dealing with you... I expect that you guys check on any item before you send it to the customer, shouldn't you? This is the case, what do you think? I appreciate your prompt respond. Best regards, Abbas Rahim

In short this, LITERALLY, killing my entire family. When I plugged it in, it exploded into flames turning my family into smoldering corpses... (Apparently flames go everywhere except were they started) DO NOT GET THIS IF YOU LOVE YOUR WIFE, SON, DAUGHTER, DOG, AND ELDERLY FATHER

Considering the fact that apple has updated the macbooks and calls them macbook pro, this macbook is as good as a macbook pro, except for the name and it comes with an amazing price tag. At sub $1000, this is a steal and perhaps the best mac to buy. Also unibody and got nvidea graphics card.

I have upgraded from an Apple 2E and wish I lived closer to any Apple Store. I need instructions. The tutorials are good but nothing like a "hands on" session with one who knows. After I learn the ropes, it will be a welcome addition. Get Pentagon Federal Credit Union to upgrade their banking/credit cards for Quicken for the MAC. I have Snow Lepard and hope it is an improvement on to older system. I am too new to know. Jack

If you have been reading the reviews on this laptop it has been kind of mixed Let me set matters straight I have been an avid Windows user and had a Powerbook G4 back in the day I missed that laptop, so I decided to go back to a Mac And I am glad I did. First off the main complaint is the screen. Yes its glossy and yes it is going to be reflective (its made of glass what do you expect?), it does NOT affect usability to a degree, I use this in a well lit office building and it looks fine, in my house it looks fine, now maybe if I used it outside in direct sunlight.....I might have a problem, but seriously when and how often is that going to happen? The screen is great, the blacks look fine, they do NOT looked washed out. And the screen is definitely not cheap. Second is the loss of Firewire, this mac is made to be an entry level laptop, Firewire is not widely used as much as USB 2.0. So please stop complaining about it already, unless your doing some major file transferring dont

I bought from Amazon and saved about $[...], including S&H and tax. This product arrived just as it should have--new, unopened, and with everything as advertised. It is a great machine for the price, and is super fast. If you want to upgrade RAM, go to Crucial.com and upgrade to the 4GB that comes standard with the high-end model for only $[...] Overall it is an awesome computer, blazing fast (extra RAM would make it more so) and these Macs are eligable for the Mac Up-To-Date program which allows you to get Snow Leopard for only $[...], if you buy before December 26. I would highly reccommend this for anyone who needs a good computer.

I was graduating from college and I thought that I'd get myself a nice present. I had a Gateway notebook and was lukewarm about how I felt about it. I decided to do research for about two months before buying another laptop since I was going to be using it for a few years to come. I noticed that many people that I knew were very happy with their Apples and I was getting tired of always crashing and the way that my notebook (only 2 years old) was preforming). I decided on the Apple because of reviews, consumer reports and I also personally went into businesses and tried out the computers. I bought my Apple on January 6th, 2009. I have been happy ever since. It turns on and off quickly, it's design is sleek and sturdy, the keyboard is comfortable and even though I still have yet to explore it thoroughly, I do not regret my decision to go Mac. I had been an advocate for PCs but this MacBook has changed my mind. I love being a Mac. I love my iTouch and all of the other stuff I got

When I see other people with their Macbooks out and about and ask them how they like theirs, I get the same comment every time. Said with all the fervor of the new religious convert, they reverently say to me, "I'll never go back." Back is of course to a PC (shudder). I gave my husband my former Macbook upon buying this one and he is now also muttering this as he is forced to use a PC in his workplace. I was not always a Mac nut. I thought that everyone was a bit batty about them and that Windows XP was just fine and dandy despite the fact that I was reformatting the hard drive every six months, getting rid of trojan horses, putting in one security program after another to protect it, defragmenting it when it slowed down, etc., ad nauseum. This all ended with the Macbook as Macs are secure and don't need any of this fussing as it is all taken care of automatically within the machine itself. I use one little program to clean it up about once a week and that's that. I also have a

This unit is easy to setup, runs smooth, does everything and unlike Windows does not try to update itself every two seconds, and I do not need to run Virus Software either. This MacBook out of the box is easy to setup, all functions work really well especially the Backlit Keyboard, and battery life is between 4-5 hours depending on what you are doing. A Must have for anyone who doesn't know much about computers or a college/High School kid....

I have always been a PC user and after having so much trouble out of my laptops I decided to get a Mac Book. I went from a 17 inch screen to this 13.3 with no problems. It was very easy to set up and complete all the updates. I also had to purchase Microsoft office student edition for my work. Everything runs great. It is very easy to get use to. I did by the one below this first. After reading the reviews I took it back to Best Buy and got this model so I would have the more memory and the back lit keyboard. I do a lot of my school work at night so I love the keyboard. If you are thinking about investing your money into a laptop you will not be dissappointed. DO IT. Apple is a great company and their support team is always willing to help you. Trust me I have already called them twice.

I bought this computer from the Best Buy near me last October, and haven't regretted that decision. I used the 18 month no interest deal on a Best Buy credit card, and was fortunate to buy it on a day they were doing $50 off on purchases over $1,000, so I only paid $1549.99. And since getting it, it's been absolutely perfect.

I've never had a computer that operates so fast, and I've been a Mac user since I first started using computers back in the early '90s. Everything is amazing about this machine, including its display that adjusts to the surrounding light, its lighted keyboard that does the same, its hard metal casing that makes it virtually indestructible, and the fact that with 2.4 GHz processor, and 2GB memory, it can operate almost any program you throw at it at lightning speed. I may upgrade the memory at some point, but for the +6 months I've had it already, it's been easily enough.

I also love the new trackpad features, including two, three, and four finger

This was my first mac and it wont be my last. I was apprehensive to switch from PC to Mac but it was well worth the risk. This laptop is fantastic and I will never buy another PC again. It's a bit pricy but totally worth it.

I wish I would have switched sooner. I don't think I'll ever go back to a PC. If you have an iPhone you'll be right at home. Very fast, the backlit keyboard is worth the extra money, so much more compatible then I once thought. I highly recommend this Mac. It's great.

I purchased a 15.4 macbook pro a few months ago. I never touched a laptop before this, nor had I ever used a Mac. I consider myself computer savvy; I had no problems learning my way around this laptop.
I am now taking my mother in law, and my own mother to purchase a 13 in. macbook. The 15 in. really is quite large. I'm glad I didn't purchase the 17in. too big.
Super fast, super user friendly, super gorgeous, just simply amazing. PC laptops really don't compare to this.
And it's energystar qualified! If you're still teedering on weather the money spent on a macbook is worth it, trust me, I researched it long and hard, this is worth every penny.
There is no manuel to read, you simply open it up and turn it on. Once i installed the ilife 09 disc, everything (iphoto, imovie, idvd) was enhanced. When ever I have a question on how to do something, I simply go to a tutorial. Mac couldn't make it any easier to learn your way around this thing! The sheer speed of this laptop is

I wish I had bought this sooner!!!!! I hated my other laptop and started looking at getting a different one. After looking at numerous other brands of laptops i decided to have a look at the Mac's. I'd never owned or used one before so i was a little unsure of what to expect. I wish i had of got this earlier!!! I LOVE everything about it. Would recommend to anyone thinking about getting one. The customer service at Best Buy was also great. The salesmen were very helpful and very friendly.

I'm not savvy with technology, and I vaguely understand the terminology. But this computer is absolutely wonderful! In all honesty, I'm a cynical/sarcastic person that thought people mostly bought Macbooks in the pretense of image (and some still do), but this is the best computer I've worked with so far.

This computer is the most user-friendly piece of technology I've ever used. I've never once picked up the manual because the technology provides you with videos and step-by-step instruction, IF you need it.

Macs are incredibly innovative - They think of new technology, for instance my Macbook has no speakers because the sound comes from inside the keyboard. And for instance, if the light in the room dims, your screen and keyboard will adjust also.

Vista was slow on my previous 1GB notebook (ideally, vista needs 2BG). Now I have a 2GB and use the iWork program, that works wonderfully and I'm able to understand much better. I never even bothered with Word because

This is a great laptop. Mac arent all about aesthetics. This one flies with its 2.4 core 2 and ddr3 memory. Vista bogs down your cpu power, the MAC OS doesn't. THe trackpad on the MAC is genius. It tool a while to get used to but when you do, you can perform a variety of useful functions with the track pad. I love how it seems that safari years you, and it will attempt to autofill forms on the net with good accuracy. I've owned 2 mac laptops and 3 PC laptops. 2 of the three PC laptops broke, the other one sucked so bad I had to take it back. I had a white macbook for 2 years, The laptop cost about 1100 dollars. I sold easily it for 550 when I bought my this one. The battery life is great. The OS is great. the performance is great. The feel is great.

For 3 months I looked at just about every PC comparing it for price, size, value, etc - probably the same thing you're doing right now. I came SO close to buying a Toshiba but chickened out at the last minute. A few days later I started working with Keynote on my desktop unit at home and was really impressed with it sooo.....I decided to spend the extra $400.00 for the Macbook. I've been a longtime Mac owner and use PC's at work heavily so I'm well aware of the difference between the two. I'm really amazed and how well the Macbook performs and how light it is compared to PC laptops. The glass trackpad on the Macbook is really well engineered and I never get tired of using it. I used the Migration Assistant to move my files from the old Mac to the Macbook and I wish that would have gone better. My iTunes music is all over the place and I have to address that issue. The battery life could be a little longer but everything else is really first rate on it.

The MacBook is beautiful, flawless, sublime... It is a work of art. Steven Jobs is very adamant on Apple's products being aesthetically pleasing. This is a perfect example of the meticulous precision of Apple's endeavor. The operating system is extremely user friendly. It may take a day or two to acclimate one's self if you have recently forsaken Windows... But once you are acclimated to Mac's OS, you will honestly never want to return to Windows. Exceedingly low risk of viruses and crashes! Apple's customer service is stupendous both over the phone and in the Mac Store. Some people predicate their argument against the MacBook with its cost... Please remember you are getting what you pay for. The MacBook is a life-long investment with no decrees in performance. To recapitulate, the MacBook is for people that want a computer that will never need to be replaced! One additional tidbit of information... Windows is currently running a television commercial where a college-aged girl is trying

I debated a long time on this purchase. Afterwards i am now wondering why i waited so long. It is a great computer. I am using it mainly for editing home movies of 9 month old. iMovie is great for the beginner in editing video they make it so easy for the novice. I have downloaded trails of, sony vegas, pinnacle, and nothing is as easy as iMovie. I am using the AVCHD format on the SR-11 in iMovie. Not quite used to the word processor yet, Pages.

I have had it for about a week and a half and I feel like I know everything about it so far. I don't know everything about it obviously but I highly suggest this laptop.

I'll keep this short and sweet. I've never used a Mac before this, so I wasn't sure about switching from a PC. If you are in the same boat then please rest assured that you will have absolutely no regrets other than the regret of not switching sooner. Apple is a company that focuses 100% on computers, so they have figured out and solved every problem you could possibly encounter. The computer is so intuitive and easy to use. Just buy the Microsoft Office software for your Mac and you will have everything you need. This computer is so fast and quiet. I actually had it running right next to my work laptop (IBM) and it made my IBM sound like a screaming dump truck.

FYI - I originally was going to buy the $1,300 version, but then realized that one does not have the illuminating keyboard.

So happy I made this purchase.

i was a bit hesitant about switching from a pc to a mac, but the transition seriously could not have been easier. i was also a little wary about going from a 17" laptop to 13.3". honestly, i feel that the graphics on this computer make up for the size difference. i know some people say that macs are expensive, but this computer has so much to offer and appears to be much further advanced than its counterparts. in fact, i just discovered today over ichat with my boyfriend that we can "share" screens. he was actually controlling the mouse on my computer screen from his mac! i am extremely happy with my decision to buy this computer, and now, all i need is a pink cover to make it extra pretty :)

Well let me just start off saying I am extremely satisfied PC to MAC converter. This has fulfilled all of my creative ambitions, and has simplified and sparked more interest with laptop use in general. Also, the switch to MAC was a very comfortable and effortless one. I would also like to input the GREAT customer service I had received while deciding my purchases last week. Though the battery life is about 3-4 hours, it is understandable with the extremely bright screen and crystal clear picture. So, unless you're always going to be away from the charger, this is possibly one of the easiest choices for a considering PC to MAC converter.

A+++++

Thanks so much Best Buy!

Ok I'll give you the best detailed review i can...
I'm a huge windows nerd...i can do anything on there but i'm new to mac...i was nervous to make the switch but i'll never look back...

-The magnetic power cord saves you from getting snagged
-The display is bright and clear
-The trackpad is quite responsive and has lots of great uses but sometimes it is too easy to drag things you don't want to
-The keyboard is nicely spaced and doesn't wear easy but is missing a numpad and the backlit keyboard is really nice
-The multimedia and system buttons on the keyboard are really useful and convenient
-The slot loading drive is a lil noisy but that's to be expected and it's really nice
-The usb ports fit snug which is nice but there's only 2...i would think that's enough but i'm sure sometimes you might want to use a hub
-The video output kinda sucks cuz you have to buy adapters for it
-It would be nice if it had two headphone jacks since it's a multimedia

Like so many I spent long hours searching the web. I have always used windows and after two laptops ( an hp and a dell with Vista). I wanted something that would work without having to spent a ton of money on extra software. When I played with the Mac it had all this built in software that was fast and easy to use with amazing results. Plus no Trail softare all full versions a BIG plus.
Now about all the complaints about the fire wire,Screen and Operating system. I have to say those complaints came from people who either just hate mac or expected something more out of a 13.3 Laptop. Fire wire was of no issue for me coming for the windows world. The Screen is great. way better then my Dell glossy screen. Beside how many different viewing angles do you need from a 13.3 screen anyway. Finally the Operating is differnet but anyone buying a Mac already knows that so why complain about something you new would be different.
Although I think it is great and very easy to change the look

I have been using PC's since I started working on computers. I recently bought a Sony vaio AR 730 not even less than a year ago and one day it just stopped working. Sony said they couldn't do anything at all so i decided to start researching for a new computer. This led me to Apple. I customized a macbook on the apple website with 4GB of ram and a 320GB hard drive. So far it seems to be efficient I just noticed a lot of regular PC operations does not allow you to work with them on the apple. Which at times is frustrating because in the environment I work i use desktop PC's all the time and when I bring my work home I can not use it on the Apple. The money I paid I know is well worth for the machine but I just have not figured out how to use the wonderful machine just yet.

When people see or know you have an apple they are in "awe" cause they know you spent good money. Apple computers are great machines I just wish Steve Jobs and Bill Gates stop playing around and become good buddies

I switched over to a MacBook about a month ago. I have been using Windows for the past ten years and I can only say that I really hate this MacBook. The stories I was told about compatibility not being a problem...were all a lie. About 75% of the things I need to do are not compatible with Mac OS. I cannot even use the US Postal Service website to print postage because it is not compatible. I have given it four weeks, the Dummies book, endless online research but I still don't like it. If you have been using Windows and are skilled at it, don't waste your time on Mac, it is too restrictive and you cannot customize it like you can Windows. I don't like to say this but it seems like Mac OS is made specifically for people who are not computer savvy and need to let the machine decide how you are going to use it. For the excessive amount of money I spent, I feel like it was a very bad investment.

I was, as so many (former) PC users, stand-offish about switching to a Mac, but my last computer has been terrible from day one! I had built a Pc years ago, and it worked great, but I was interested in the all new Vista OS, so I upgraded to a Compaq. Worst mistake ever... Vista is TERRIBLE. I honestly would have gone back to Windows 3.1 over Vista! Microsoft really needs to get it together, or else Linux and Apple will take over!

Apple, on the other hand, hit the nail on the head with "OS X Leopard"

The OS is very fast, probably because it is a UNIX system, and it is also functional. All the needed features are built in, and they all work well.

The actual computer works great, the screen adapts to the ambient light, so it is never too dark, or too bright. The illumitated keyboard is a big help (especially when learning all the new buttons!)

Apple bundles in the iLife software, which is great. I can edit movies, pictures, and music all with the software

I recently replaced my 4 year old iBook G4 with this Macbook. Hands down, Apple makes a better laptop than any competitor. In 4 years, I have never had a virus, hassles connecting peripheral hardware, or software problems! This product will cost you more initially, but it'll save you many headaches...

This is great for school and business presentations. I bought this because my HP was breaking and it wasn't even a year old. When I called HP, they said it would take a month to fix! That is horrible, so I did a lot of research and bought my first apple. The 2.4 is better because of the enhanced features and ease of typing.

I've been a hardcore PC user for more than 10years. I assemble, troubleshoot, etc. This is the first time I tried Mac. I have my Mac for almost a month now and so far I have no complaints.

I like how they changed the trackpad to use single finger up to 4 fingers. Pretty awesome, it makes browsing and editing pics & videos faster. The unibody is a great plus it makes the MacBook more stable structurally. It uses LEOPARD OS which is fast, stable, secure and the RAM is DDR3 which is way faster than DDR2. It comes with 2Gb and I upgraded mine to 4Gb. Very easy to upgrade. Crystal clear video and a lighted keyboard makes typing easier even in low light. It's a light-weight notebook with lots of power for big projects and packed with usefull programs.

The only negative thing I have for this notebook so far is the price. With the price there's a lot of PC that has a lot of bells & whistles but not reliable enough to be used for big projects. Given with what it can offer

I am a college student on the verge of graduating and will be attending Law School in a year. For whatever reason, I was in a hurry to get a laptop now although its main purpose was to be portable enough to take to a law lecture. Through my impatience, and lighter wallet, I decided to first go with a D3LL Mini 12 because of its portable size and weight. Being that I was relatively familiar with the XP operating system that was on it, I ordered one from Dell. Wow what a dissapointment. The computer was nearly $800 and was extremely under powered. Not to mention the laptop itself felt very cheap and flimsy. So I was in the market again. I went to a local best buy and fell in love with this computer. There are no complaints, fast, reliable, secure OS. Made of a solid piece of aluminum which provides for very strong structure. Would recommend to all.

I just bought this mac last night and i love it. I switched from an HP 17" widescreen so I was worried about the smaller size. I can tell you that I don't even notice the smaller screen. This thing is fast and the battery life is just amazing! My first mac and so I stayed up till 1:30 am learning the mac and I think I am now a true mac user. It's more money than LOTS of other pc's, but you for sure get what you pay for. Don't spend anymore time thinking about buying this one, Just go and do it and you won't regret it at all

This is by far the BEST LAPTOP on the market, its fast, its reliable, it will run windows faster than a brand new windows desktop! Im serious. I love this laptop and if it were up to me I would put a ban on all other laptops cuz they are a waste of time. Spend the extra 3-500 and buy this you will save yourself alot of headache and grief.

I'm a truck driver so you know this review isn't coming from some nerdy computer geek (alright, maybe just a little nerdy!). Anytime the wheels aren't turning I use my laptop as my main source of information and entertainment. The reasons I decided to make the switch to Mac are many so I'll just stick to the product and my experiences so far.
When opening the box I got a feeling this was a quality product. Everything was laid out nicely in little trays with no styrofoam or paperwork falling out at you. Upon startup there are no needless icons and trial offers on the screen. Having been a PC user for ten years I was worried about learning a new OS, but within a couple of hours of reading the guide and clicking around I was a new Mac user! Internet connection, email accounts, and system preferences were all very easy to set up; it does most of it for you automatically. And I now feel like I have total control over my computer which I definately didn't have with Vista. I have a lot more

I originally bought a Dell for the MBA program i'm starting in January. The Dell was defective and I sent it back for a refund. I finally decided to take a chance on a Mac and I couldn't be happier! It was the best decision I've made. If it holds up longer than my average two year windows laptop, it will be a worth every penny!

The new form factor (Aluminum) is great and lightweight for the size and features. Boots quickly, great wireless range, great battery life (2.5 to 4+ hrs depending on what I'm doing) and easy to use. The multi-gesture trackpad is unbelievable. It makes it easy to switch between applications, move backwards and forwards between web pages, rotate photos, etc. The MagSafe connector on the AC adapter works well. Very easy to connect and releases if the charging cable is pulled on too hard.

I wish that Apple had left one firewire port on the MacBook so that I could import video from my MiniDV camera. I understand that this is a Pro feature, but I wanted the 13 inch screen, not a 15 inch one.

Overall, I'm very happy with my choice.

I am an online student going for my MBA and I just bought my new Macbook and I love it. Its light weight, easy to use and it loads so fast. This is my first time using a Mac and the transition was a piece of cake. I cant say enough good things about my notebook. And yes, you need to get the one with the back light.

I have always used Apple for my iPods and even my iPhone so obviously I had high expectations when my new computer was revealed as an early christmas present. My boyfriend orginally went with the older model, the all white MacBook, but it wasn't charging for some reason.. we took it back to Best Buy where we were forced to answer the hardest question, either wait for another one to come (which would have been Black Friday) or pick out another one.. We took a better look and did some math and it ended up that the newest MacBook would only equal out to about 100 more, so without question we went with this one. I wouldn't have changed this decision at all. The processor is so fast, and I love the quality of the product. With Apple you know you're getting what you pay for, and thats the best.

I looked online to buy a new computer for about a month before i went to best buy and was told a mac would be the best choice. (Thank you best buy). About two weeks later i finally bought it. I was so excited to get my new computer. I absolutely love it. It really is thin and very attractive. It is also very easy to carry around because of its light weight. the trackpad is one of my favorite things about it. It is so smooth and soft. I could not live without the two finger scroll. I recommend going on apple 's website and seeing everything you can do with it. The keyboard is also very easy on the fingers and very comfortable. Its nice to have a pause and skip buttons right on the keyboard for itunes.
You have so many options with you own personalization it is unbelievable. I have my desktop background set to my iphoto pictures and have it set to change every five minutes. I also have it set so my Mac announces the time every 15 minutes. There are so many things you can do, it can take

I must say that the new aluminum design keeps the laptop cooler and I'm able to keep it on my lap for hours without it getting hot. then there are all the features such as the LED screen! SOOO much brighter then all of my previous laptops. I love a lot of the features of this laptop. which is why I think I made the jump to spend the extra cash for this laptop. my reasons are from the fact that this is my 3rd laptop in 2 years! the first a gateway died on me after 7 mo. I sent it back for repair and they replaced the keyboard. 4 months later it died for good out of warranty. 2nd laptop was an HP still works but battery is dead and I'm on my 3rd power adapter. I'm afraid that any time soon the laptop will die for good. So I hope this one will last me a couple of years. I am going to get the apple extended warranty soon.

I was a little hesitant to buy an Apple because of the price, but I had heard such great things I had to try one out for myself. This is so far the best computer I have ever owned. Everything is great. I especially love the new trackpad. Though it is a little more pricey than your typical PC's, it is definitely worth it! From now on any computer I get will definitely be an Apple!

Sure everyone would like to have a notebook like this for 8 or 9 hundred dollars but, face the facts! No! other computers run like the Macs. Are they perfect? no, nothing is but they are a darn site closer than any computer that runs that other OS. Any warranty or service needs that I have had and they have been very few, have been handled by Apple with ease. I love the short startup and shutdown speeds, The fact that The Mac OS needs far fewer instruction to run my programs hence faster speeds. The fact that the Mac OS doesn't share thousands of DLLs and other files makes the OS much simpler and less prone to freezes and lockup's. Do yourself a favor and buy a Mac and make your computing life more enjoyable !!!!!!!!!

I got my Macbook a week ago and it is a wonderful computer, you could get a windows laptop with similar specs for a lot less, but you will have to replace it in a couple years, Mac computers run as good as new for at least 4 years, my cousin has had I mac laptop for almost 6 years now and has had no problems and it runs as fast as it did when new. The trackpad is great, I could never go back to a standard trackpad now, the 2 finger scrolling is great. If you want a computer that you won't want to throw out the window get a mac. If anyone is worried about software compatibility with pc programs, then buy windows xp ($200) and parallels desktop and you can run windows and mac OS X side by side. one other great thing is when you are filling out an online form with your info, once you put your first name in the computer fills the rest out. Don't waste your money on another windows PC, you won't regret switching to Mac.

The new macbook is awesome! I bought it to replace my 17" HP Laptop that I bought two years ago. I was tired of the bulky size of huge screen and the extra weight that it added. The size of the new 13.3" Macbook is less than half of what I use to lug around. I like that I can put it in my backpack and not even feel it. Display is extremely crisp. The backlit keys aren't extremely necessary but guess what. . . . I like them! and wanted them! It won't be long and every laptop will have them, they are handy. Now the trackpad, I'm in love with this thing. I have only had this computer for a week and I'm using all the different finger swipes to do everyday tasks.

Hey one thing that everyone thinking about switching from PC to Mac says to themselves is: I don't know if I would know how to do anything on a Mac.
I'm living proof that it's not hard! I grew up on PC's and was tired of all the BS I had to go through in the past and wanted something new.

I'm a new Macbook owner

I had the White Macbook 2.0ghz which worked fine but I decided to switch to the new macbook for a perfomance boost. My only gripe with the new new mackbook is that I think that the old macbook design is better:

Old macbook : Plastic cover : Comfotable on wrist. Durable, temperature neutral except bottom gets a little warm
New macbook: Alunimum : Solid feel but, does not feel comfortable. Edges feel sharper. Feels cold all the time. Have to be careful what surfaces laptop is put on cause it can easily be scratched by a variety of surfaces.
Old Mac book: Screen; when i think of apple i always think of how good there displays are.
New Book. Screen: screen cover is highly reflective which usually causes me to have to adjust it so its not reflecting lights. also it seems like it doesnt have a large viewing angle like the old macbook does. Everytime you go to use the laptop you have to adjust the screen to right angle.
old macbook: keyboard; cormfortable. could use lighting.
Newbook:

This is my second computer in one year. I bought a Dell computer with Vista a year ago and it has not worked correctly since day one. I was forced to buy another one the other day because I go to school online and I need a computer. I decided to buy a MAC because I heard so many good things about it. This system is awesome. My son and I love the Photo booth with the wacky pictures. I have been a windows user for years and the transition was very easy. I would recomend this PC to everyone.

I have gone through many many windows computers over the last few years, and they always fail on me. This macbook seems like it is built to last forever and ever. The backlit keyboard and the extra processing power is definitely worth the extra couple hundred bucks. Compared with many of the other manufacturers computers on the market this computer will make it for quite a while. I dont plan on buying anything but mac from now on.

I bought a Dell last year for college and have had problems ever since i got it. Joined the military in June and am going to Korea this Friday for a tour and didn't want my Dell that was causing me all this frustration to follow me to Korea, so i got this laptop. I've only had it for an hour or so, but it's the best investment i've ever made! The engineering is so top notch that you won't be disappointed at all. The keyboard is great, the track pad is HUGE, and it's just one great product. Great job Apple, you make a strict PC user proud.

This is my first Mac. I was a little nervous to jump in to all things Mac. The only regret I have is not doing it sooner! I love this machine. It is stable, fast, durable, and it looks amazing. The only thing that is a negative of course is price, but you get what you pay for. I have used some really cheap PC's to some high end models, let me tell you this machine out preforms them all. If you are looking to make the switch trust me you won't regret it.

This being my first Mac, I was not sure what to expect. Could it surf normal websites? Chat like a PC? Send emails like a PC? The answer to all these is a hearty yes. This laptop is full featured and very fast. By fast, I mean quicker in every way. Less than a minute to start up, seconds to shutdown. Where as my previous pc laptop took a small amount of time to find wireless network and connect, this is virtually instantaneous. Very fast response time to opening programs to the tune of opening 4 programs with almost no delay.
There is a slight learning curve with using Mac OS. Do yourself a favor if you are a pc convert, get a two button bluetooth mouse and the transition will be significantly easier. Most definitely do not allow the adjustment curve to Mac OS dissuade you, its rather quick and painless as the OS is very intuitive.
Final notes on the laptop. There are just numerous small things that all add up to a well thought out product. From small feet that fold out to hold

Faster, lighter and stronger for starters. The backlit keyboard on the 2.4 GHz is great! The larger glass trackpad is amazing! The LED screen is very bright (completely adjustable) and comes on instantly from sleep. The new aluminum unibody case is solid, when you pick it up you can really tell the difference. The new integrated video card is noticeably faster than the previous model. Running Windows in Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac (Intel Mac) makes this laptop the only computer you will need, capable of running any Mac & Windows software, this comes in handy if you are switching from a PC or developing across platforms. I've had many laptops (personal and from work) and this one is the only one that I've ever felt was worth every penny. I highly recommend it!

I got my new macbook about a week ago and it has already surpassed my old ibook by leaps and bounds, everything is better integrated, the dashboard function is more easily used, and the screen is beautiful with great graphics, watching movies on it is very crisp and enjoyable. I got the extra memory and I also got 2 extra gigs of ram, which is a very nice upgrade and not that much more money. It loads my applications faster and doesn't lag when I have 3, 4 or more large applications going at once. Mac has definitely done well with this overhaul of the already great macbook.

For my review I am going to organize this into positive and negative aspects of this new model based on my experience with both the old and new models, as well as a general understanding of what is available at this price point from PC manufactures (Dell, Sony, HP):

Pros:
1. LED screen, brighter, better battery life, better for the environment (no mercury).
2. 1066MHz frontside bus.
3. ~8x Better graphics performance than previous model.
4. Easy access to hard drive.
5. Half-pound lighter than previous model.

Cons:
1. No Firewire port. This means no target disk mode, or using minidv decks/cameras which require firewire. I feel this is a poor decision on Apple's part. This makes two of my hard drives useless without an adapter of some kind. One FW800 port would have been nice, and from an engineering point of view, they could have fit it in there.
3. No HDMI port (yet to see this on a mac).
4. No eSATA port (yet to see this on a mac).
5. 5400 rpm hard drive. Better HDD performance requires

I'd been waiting for these laptops since the introduction of Intel processors in Macs. The MacBook Pros used nearly the exact same case design for far too long. While I didn't think the MacBooks really needed a design refresh, I like the choices Apple made so much that I bought one. I like having a smaller laptop, though I do appreciate some of the additional features you get with a MacBook Pro. That said, many of the extra bells and whistles once left out of the MacBooks have found their way in and while I never really thought I'd care I have to say--it makes a huge difference.

Owning a new aluminum MacBook is a lot more like owning one of the old 12" Powerbooks. I used to have one and it was wonderful. It's probably the one discontinued Apple computer that's coveted by its owners. Their resale value is still fairly high, considering how comparatively slow they are. If you're a blogger or a writer and you don't use the machine for much else, it's sort of a best of breed. However,

The new MacBooks are truly a beautiful piece of technology from Apple, and they feel like it right out of the box. It feels refined and highly sophisticated and it is jam-packed with features and technical specs that beef it up into a very solid competitor with Windows laptops. The only thing I could possibly complain about is the price, but there are more affordable models that only sacrifice a little performance if price is the issue. I love it! I look forward to many more years with this computer.

This notebook computer is a tour d'force by Apple. Having used several Windows notebooks over the years - ThinkPad, Compaq, Dell, Toshiba, Sony VAIO - this is my first Apple notebook. Although, I have lusted after Mac OS for years, it wasn't practical because most of my work software is Windows. Now, the ability to run Windows on Mac notebooks has changed that and we can have the best of both worlds. Amongst the Windows notebooks, ThinkPad has always been my favorite, and this MacBook is replacing ThinkPad X31.

MacBook is fast, feels very solid and sturdy, thin and has bright LED display with vivid colors and fast graphics. Some people are complaining about the glossy screen; but I found glare a problem only with bright light facing the screen. Battery life is decent, about 4 hours. Self adjusting screen brightness, depending upon ambient light, does not work very well and I had to turn it off. Backlit keyboard is excellent. You will like large multi-touch track pad after you get used

I used 2 mid-end HP laptops with great features but their performance and windows vista 64 bit were too much to handle for them. When I decided to do some research on the Macs I felt the need to find something different to get rid of windows, its complicated new features and not friendly updates.

I went to best buy and bought my black MacBook 13.3", great performance and incomparable black matte exterior, then I decided to go for the newest mode,l backordered everywhere, and so far I am just in love with it. It is just well built, put your hands on it and and you can literally feel it, use it and then you can confirm why Mac is just the best out there. With the quality Mac uses to build these machines, I just imagine if they had used a high-end processor for this model particularly! There's just no rivals out there for my MacBook.

Why not 5 stars? well first is the price. I would love to seen the price at $1499 because of the 2gigs of ram, I think if it would of come with 4gigs of ram at $1599 that would of been perfect. Next is no firewire! I can see why no 800 port but 400 come on, if apple is killing firewire just do it!

Now the things I like. The screen is LED! when you open the macbook its up and no waiting for the bulb to go to full power. The trackpad will take sometime to get used to, but its big, fells very nice, and smooth! keyboard is big, backlight is bright, I do miss the num keys. The superdrive is quiet and fells the about the same speed.

I have 2 things that I love. The macbook does not get HOT! I'm writing this and the temp is 115F , and the fan rpm is 1999 so quiet. Next is the weight it is 4.5lbs I don't know why you would buy a macbook air now. for 1.5lbs you get superdrive, changeable battery, up to 4gigs of ram, bigger hard drive, and it fells almost as small as the macbook air.

Great purchase! I really like the size and feel of the laptop.
I wasn't sure about the glossy screen but it is really nice. The screen is way brighter than I can stand so I lowered the brightness but if you like a really bright screen you will like this laptop.
The new track pad is very nice. Very smooth feeling and being able to click anywhere has been really great.
I only wish I could have selected 4GB of memory through Best Buy. Apple wants $300 to upgrade after the fact and only $135 when configuring the laptop. I bought from Best Buy for the 2yrs no interest.
The laptop has some weight to it but I like how it feels sitting on my lap. It feels secure and not like its going to slide off.
Really love the laptop and feel Apple did a great job!

Just picked this up last evening and worked with it for several hours. Very impressed with this beauty and highly recommend this to anyone.
I had considered the MacPro, but the footprint of the Macbook makes it ideal for taking it practically anywhere you go.
Quiet, fast and incredibly sturdy. Photos do not do this system justice. This is essentially a MacPro mini, with most of the benefits of the Pro but without the high price tag.
