You might think that for an 'alarm clock' costing over 60 bucks you can now wake up to your favorite music. No - none of that sort of space-age tech here. Instead all you will hear is a faint intermittent buzz-tone that might annoy you, but is hardly alarming or capable of waking up anyone who is actually tired and needs an alarm. There are no other options - no other sounds, no music, nothing. I have the same thing in a box somewhere that cost $5 at target, but was made before ipods so has features and design since it was made by thinking people who have used alarm clocks before and think in terms of function rather than easy, obscene profit. If you do wake up and want to turn it off just press the big nob on front, but be sure to put some large rocks behind it first since attempting to push a button on the front of an alarm that weighs about as much as your ipod will not turn it off until it falls off your table and onto the floor. If you can replace your ipod though, the speakers might still work, or at least the clock on the front. This is a very unnecessary piece of equipment. Sure, if I could fix the smashed ipod I could use its alarm instead, but, then, why do they make this? In this way - with a superfluous, unintegrated clock/alarm? Why not just make some smaller, better, heavier speakers? Logitech ought to be ashamed of such a blatantly misleading product that is the equivalent of duct-taping an alarm clock to your ipod and speakers without any attempt to integrate or improve either. If I had bought tape instead of this I would now have a superior product with a much better alarm (with options - like radio) that takes up much less space, would not slide or fall when used, and sound about the same when played. When I get money again that is what I plan do and I will sell my better alarm clocks here too, for a dollar less. So, instead of wasting your money now on this, hold out for mine and you will be a little happier (comes with input cord and extra tape!!!) I am constantly shocked at how many shoddy electronics are put out and sold for excessive prices, and how it is that every time I try to get a new gizmo I manage to find the worst of the rip-offs. How do these things keep getting made, bought, and then reviewed positively? I will be going back to buying all my electronics at rite-aid and walgreens where you expect poor workmanship and pay less for it.
