Card requires too much power/cooling than it's worth.

It runs everything you throw at under the highest settings without flinching, but is HIGHLY prone to overheating (even with 3 case fans) and is incredibly loud right before shutting itself off.

After doing some googling and forum trolling, it has become obvious to me that the 9800 cards are all having the same issues. Apparently the fans do not work properly and it is an issue which nvidia has yet to diagnose and fix.

This card should only be used in computers with a well done water cooling system. It runs too hot, it has huge fan flaws, and it demands a LOT of juice and room.

A shame to...because it makes everything so pretty...

This GPU failed shortly after install, PNY refused to repair the card, even when I offered to pay for their support. Do not, under any circumstances, ever, for any reason at all, buy a PNY product. Best Buy has other great brands like ATI and BFG. There is no reason for you to spend money for a product that will not work.

this is a great card, if your thinking about getting it just DO IT! the price for this card was great when i bought it, but now the GTX series is nearing around 190-200$ so it would probably be smarter to go with the gtx 260.

overall this card is great tho, never had any problems with it, PNY has been great (free lifetime warranty woo!). im sad to see that people would give this card a bad review because they cant figure out how to install a simple molex to pci adapter or dont have the sufficient power supply to run this beast, grow up kiddies.

The package lists a molex-to-pcie adapter as included, but a note inside says it has not been included and PNY tech support will send one. However, when I called PNY tech support, they informed me that they would not send me an adapter because any power supply capable of supporting the card should have come with an adapter.

I am not going to touch the performance of this card in this review as this information is readily available in other reviews of this card. Suffice it to say that you should be very pleased. I would like to instead discuss the size of this card and installation. I have an Acer M5360 desktop and am upgrading from an ATI Radeon HD 2400 pro that came with it. This card as others have said is huge...suffice it to say that if the card was 1/4" longer...it would have not fit. I had to move two hard drives around and move my HDTV tuner card down a slot to give the GeForce 9800 GTX+ a little breathing room. But all in all it was a fairly easy install if you are used to getting in to the inards of your computer. I did have to replace the Power Supply with an Antec 500Watt that BB also sells. Total install time took about 30 minutes including the time of installing the new power supply and video card. With that all said...I wouldn't worry to much about the size of the card....I would just return

I was skeptical about the 9800GTX+ from PNY at first after reading reviews and the fact that it only has one 6 pin power connector. However i gave it a shot and am glad I did. Ive paired it with a BFG 9800GTX+ OC that is much larger, has 2 6 pin power connectors, and is factory overclocked to 760 / 1890 / 1125. This PNY is 738 / 1825 / 1100.
I have both cards running in SLI and have them both overclocked to
810 / 1890 / 1125. And I was pleasantly surprised to get the PNY clocks that high with out it crashing. So all in all this is a decent card. Im not sure how it would hold up by itself but for SLI it seems to be a decent card.
I gave this card a 4/5 on quality and performance due to the fact that its excelent for what it is but is quickly becoming outdated with what has come out since its release.

Only a fool would pass this one up, great value to performance ratio,My hp pavilion a6700y had a performance of 3.1 using vista 64 bit(the rating that is determined in the game section of vista), now with the addition of this card its at 5.8. Had to update the PS to the thermaltake 450W...If i had a gripe, it would be that its very tight fitting this card into the standard hp case.

Another awesome video card from PNY, with NVIDIA Chip, I love it, I can play my games in full quality with no problems, and smooth playback. The price is great, since for this type and quality 5 years ago, it would of costed me approx: 500 dollars. The only negative things I have is it's a very huge card, and bulky. It was a very tight fit in the case, I recommened everyone to check the dimensions of there case and the area surrounding the PCI Express x16 bus slot, because I had to change my sata cables since the card wouldnt sit down correctly because the sata cables were in the way, but now everything is running excellent and beautiful. Go Get it!!...if you got the room, or just enough room.

This a good mid priced card! You get the benefits of the newest developing technologies without blowing the big bucks for them. I've had no heat problems or lagging at all, and I run everything maxed out. For those like me that have been without decent video all of their lives, this could be the card of your dreams.

This is the best card in the world! It's really big so you need a big case with tons of fans to keep it cool and you probably will need to replace the power supply. I had a Dell inspiron 531 and I replaced the power supply, the case, the RAM, and it works incredible. I maxed out all of the settings on Call of Duty 5, World at War and it plays incredible. Also, it's great for vista. It used to be that when I pressed the button to scroll through the windows, it was very shifty and not smooth at all but now it works like it's supposed to. Also, videos play much better. Those looking for a first card, it looks expensive but you can save up for it. Also, replacing all of the parts necessary like the power supply and the case sounds hard but it's really easy also. Just don't touch the pins because you will have to clean them with contact cleaner or the card won't work.

amazing upgrade. i went from a 7600gt to this, ammmmmmmmazing. i did have to switch all my components to a larger case as this thing is huge, the automatic fan control system works well and seems to keep everything running good, i use it to play call of duty world at war, and everything runs tip top. although it puts off a ton of heat under a high load, so make sure u have a way to draw in cool air and to blow out hot. but overall, love it!!!

Even though you only have 2 dvi's you can use a DVI to HDMI adapter which comes with the card but I would rather a hard wired HDMI port then an adapter.
Otherwise, the card is impressive right out of the box. The size is immense and it may be snug but it will fit. Make sure your power supply is at least 500w it requires 2, 6 pin power connectors to run. The gaming is awsome I maxed it out and played my Call of duty 4 and it looks and runs awsome its HD gaming when set to 1080i resolution. I also have a bluray drive on my pc connected to a samsung DLP 56'' TV and it looks awsome when the card is maxed out as well. My older nvidia 8600gt would lag when I maxed it out when watching blurays.
Awsome card runs great buy it if you gamer or run a bluray player so you can get as much out of your games and movies as possible.
